ORLANDO, Florida, Dec 21, 2009 (AFP) – Tiger Woods is reportedly yachting to the Bahamas for the holidays to escape the firestorm over his sex scandal while his wife Elin is said to be off back to Sweden for Christmas with her family.

Woods, who turns 34 next week, launched his yacht from Palm Beach for the Bahamas at the weekend, with People magazine quoting an unidentified friend as saying that the golf star faced a deeply unhappy time ahead.

“He’s devastated at everything he has lost,” the magazine quoted the source as saying. “He will go through some dark times. It’s going to be a lonely Christmas for him.”

Both People and the Palm Beach Post reported the Bahamas as the supposed destination for the yacht named “Privacy”.

Woods has admitted cheating on wife Elin and at least 14 women, one for every major golf crown he has won, have claimed to have had affairs with the world’s first billionaire sportsman.

Sponsors have backed away from Woods and comedians have made him the punch line for jokes. Woods has put his golf career on hold indefinitely to work on his personal woes.

People also reported that Elin Woods, a Swedish model whom Woods married in 2004, will take the couple’s two children with her to Sweden.

Celebrity website TMZ reported Elin would not immediately move to divorce Woods but said she has been especially upset by the sheer number of affairs by her husband and two particularly painful relationships.

She was reportedly most upset about a three-year relationship Woods maintained with one woman and that he was with another woman while she herself was pregnant.

People also reported that Tiger’s Thai-born mother, Kultida Woods, was “hurt, angry and disappointed” in her son, according to an unnamed source close to the family.

“She wants to know how he could do this to his family,” People reported the source said. “She loves him and will support him through anything but she needs some time to work through this. It was devastating to her.

“She likes Elin, adores her grandchildren. She’s worried about them. She doesn’t want to see them hurt.”

Possible avenues for golf star Woods making a return to the public were reported even as book deals for examinations of Woods’s fall from grace were said to be in the works.

MSNBC’s Courtney Hazlett said sources close to Woods indicated he might appear on the January 9 edition of Saturday Night Live, which is to be hosted by a friend of Woods, retired basketball star Charles Barkley.

“He’s a little incredulous at the way he is being judged,” MSNBC quoted the source as saying. “If he went on SNL, it would definitely change the conversation.”

The NBC network late-night comedy show spoofed Woods three weeks ago and two weeks ago aimed a parody at US PGA Tour commissioner Tim Finchem, mocking how he might defend events as interest and sponsorship dim without Woods.

Woods is also being sought by Hollywood director Todd Phillips for his sequel to “The Hangover”, according to website Hollyscoop. Filming for the new movie is set to begin in about six months for a 2011 release.

“We are going to try and get Tiger Woods for the second one… Yeah, help him regain his image,” the site quoted Phillips as saying.

Many of us are following Tiger Wood”s scandal. I don’t because I know that’s how business is conducted in the US. When someone earns a lot of money, then the 4th estate will say, hey, that’s enough. You should earn no more. Then, character assassination starts in order to tarnish the reputation through series of article publish in the media.

I suspect that his ‘enemies’ know from the very beginning about his sexual endeavor but they are hiding the fact from public. For reasons well-known to them, Wood was portrayed as an angel before the scandal was made public.

He was lucky not being charged of rape like what happened to Mike Tyson who had been convicted on two counts of criminal sexual conduct for raping Miss Black Rhode Island, Desiree Washington in 1992. The crime took place years before, when Tyson met Washington at a beauty pageant in Indianapolis.

Remember, there’s a thin line between having voluntary sex and involuntary rape in some cases!

Tyson served three years of a six-year prison sentence. Iin 1995, he settled a civil suit filed by Washington and subsequently, became a bankrupt man.

On the other hand, Tiger Wood’s girlfriends become instant millionaires by selling their stories, sleeping with him. Wood announced he will take a break from professional golf and he had lost substantial amount of contract with advertising agencies and I anticipate he will go bankrupt sooner or later.

Well, the story of his downfall is well-written!

Abiding by strict business ethics, a London based Escort Service (V London Escorts) state they treat personal information of their customers with great care and maintain highest levels of confidentiality.

As a business ethics expert, I can understand the application of ethics in many business settings and clearly connect with why many firms would want to tout their foundation, but I must admit I have never considered promoting business ethics as a reason for selecting one escort service over another. After all, every choice has a consequence, just look at Tiger Woods choices and the mountain of consequences that seems to have followed.

Number of mortgagee properties put up for auction falls 25%

THE property auction scene is expected to continue sparkling next year, spurred by interest in the high-end residential market, says Colliers International. It says that the total value of properties sold at auctions may exceed $200 million in 2010, after the figure doubled this year to about $168.4 million from last year’s $83.7 million.

A total of 118 properties were sold at auctions in 2009, again up from last year’s 72.

The residential property was the star performer, accounting for about 52 per cent of total auction sales value.

Contrary to earlier expectations in some quarters, the number of mortgagee properties put on the auction block fell 25 per cent to 195. The figure includes other forced sales, for instance, by the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore and management corporations.

‘The low number of mortgagee sales could be due to the introduction of the government’s Jobs Credit scheme, which stabilised the employment market. This, in turn, provided some home owners with the ability to service their monthly mortgage loans,’ says Grace Ng, Colliers deputy managing director (agency and business services) and auctioneer.

The number of properties put up for auction by their owners (including trustee sales) rose 10 per cent to 732, further testament to growing acceptance of auctions as a mode of selling property.

Mok Sze Sze, Jones Lang LaSalle head of auctions, says: ‘Owners are attracted by the competitive nature of the auction environment and the high chance of attaining an optimum price for their property.’

She expects to see more owners putting their properties on the auction block next year and, as the economy continues to improve, a further decrease in the number of mortgagee sales.

Colliers highlighted a more than 200 per cent jump in the sales value of residential and industrial properties sold at auction this year to $88.4 million and $20 million respectively. Older residential properties with large areas were popular for both landed and non-landed segments.

The sales value of retail properties transacted at auction rose from $34.6 million last year to $43.4 million.

This year’s auction tally of $168.4 million is about 59 per cent below the peak figures $409.46 million in 1999 and $407.43 million set in 2007.

Back in 1999, when the private residential property market staged a spectacular recovery after the Asian crisis, 27 per cent of 1,210 properties that went under the hammer were sold at auctions, according to Colliers’ analysis. This year, the 118 properties sold made up just 13 per cent of the total 927 properties put on the auction block.

Colliers’ definition of total number of properties put up for auction includes those withdrawn before auction or sold before/after the auction. However, the number sold refers only to those transacted at auction.

Yes, and although the Tiger stated numerous times that he was not black and went so far as to create through removal and dissection a specific and particular name just for himself, Cablinasian, black people in small numbers were offended but the majority enjoyed and secretly cooed about the possibility that this degenerate scoundrel may have created another name for Nigger, Negro, Coon, African American, Buck, Slave, Minority, and all of the other caste and exploits that Blacks have been called; while in denial they hide behind and under weaves, skin bleaching creams, and plastic surgery, and languish each night before midnight drooling over what new thing they can buy so that the dross of negritude does not stink up the planet [sic] Ok. These relationships are not new and they are not very difficult to understand. Some relationships I am sure are mutually and equitable stabilizing for those people entering into them, for the reasons they entered them in the first place to be stabilized from something unstable in them.

The Degenerate behavior of men such as the Tiger; and blacks that portend that they are hurt (the Omen); and surprise over many black males inability to stay and achieve with black women is what is shocking. There are degenerates’ like the Tiger running kaons’ in and out of black homes, neighborhoods, families. The scar is–that blacks just do not recognize what is degenerate when it is sitting in their backyards. Tiger is portraying a behavior, and one that is classified as mentally ill and criminal at that. Let us consider this and not construe the fact that there are now and counting 14, possibly more white women who are disclosing the privates of the Tiger. For those that are trying to declassify him into a sex addict–he is suffering from something much deeper–He has deep identity issues that truly evolved when people of color fragment due to a failure to bond and recognize their legacy/history in the mirror.  It must be awful to face the mirror and believe that your entire life–you have been raised to be a white man–to find out that at best you are truly regulated in this society to a buck–despite your  green bucks–America glorifies the black buck more than the golf game.  Otherwise, you would not have men who should be of prestige–squander and filth the way too many black men do with their money and lives.  You hate yourself to want every white woman in the world to console your inability to deal with your blackness! And you hate every black woman because she makes you remember her inability to deal with her own identity!  What torment it must have been to live inside a house where a black daddy and an Asian mother self-hated until you saw yourself as a different race(race:  a social construct that is a fallacy, make believe, myth).  And there, a grown man with ebony skin–cannot see Africa, not even in the melanin baked onto his scrotum.  Do we have to wonder what doll Tiger would have picked up at the tender age of two only a few more years before his identity was truly mastered–the white doll, or the black one? What caste indoctrination and self-hate was done to create the Tiger’s around us. . .A man that destroys himself, willingly, a personality based on no laws.

Another learn:  anyone that you have a relationship with, bring into your confides of friendship–you become responsible for the sharing and securing of their well-being. To publicly expose your thug-like mentality as a public figure, father, parent, political leader, role model, etc. you are suffering from a personality that is diseased. A behavior that is criminal–why, because to knowingly risk the repercussions of ridicule, punishment, in this case finance, diseases–for desires, gratification, the goods–you are just a Thug criminal in a put-together package being sold off to the world as a shining star. Lap milk for blacks. Only a criminal would rob a bank when the guard has a gun to shoot him–and a criminal personality must have a plan–that is right–a plan to commit the crime. No criminal conducts a crime without a plan–it does not matter how stupid the crime is, or how ill prepared he/she is; they planned something even if it was how they were going to go inside the building; what they were going to write on the stick-up note to the teller at the stick-up point. In addition, did not the Tiger call one of his degenerate females and warn her that the heist and the shiest was expose and to remove her name from her cell phone. He is not only a major player in his caper, but he is a disillusioned thug criminal–to trust, to behoove a false security in which he would believe that his co-conspirators would not expose him in the moment of lifting themselves above the game. Is the Tiger a rational man, or is he just another degenerate black thug perpetrating and penetrating degenerated white women who share his same values and criminal personality? If you look into the history of these women, you will find that they all have exposed their true characters well before they snared the Tiger in his own trap, tramp, and trash. Can you imagine what damage he would do to a black woman who is the least among men in the glorification of women–he would never pay you off girl with money! You would be in the welfare line and tripping with your weave on backwards! He would rob the last visage of your humanity and sanity–because he was raised to hate–hate the blackness.  And every person of color who has not as of yet stop self-hating–will raise up another Tiger, despite affluence and education, lines of demarcation and tree-less lined streets.

The secret:  black women will moan that another white woman robbed the shocking number of unmarried, never married, and too many babies, and diseased, poor, identity ridden, degenerate black women from a good man. Yes for those type of black women the Tiger is your predatory black male–yes predatory male is a criminal terminology–and his MO is to prey on whatever weakness that satisfies his inability to adjust his self-hatred and lack of justices. –Eventually these men will turn your children, particularly, your sons into predatory males too,  just by sleeping in your bed. Fact. Ok. So do not take it too hard, the shock of hearing it straight without a chaser–just look at your family, the prisons, and your schools and you will see them all lined up to prey/pray.  They are coming. . .(Predatory males in low income neighborhoods, prey on poor, uneducated, welfare mothers, typically without social mobility or economic status/protection; look at the waitress and porn circus of Tiger; a man with money).

Stop the cover-up:  and we can solve the Tiger’s issues along with some others. A thug such as the Tiger is not attracted to strong and spiritual women of any ethnic background. He is a fragmentation of an imagination–he is a fantasy–he is not real, nor is he whole enough to cope with the immeasurable task of being a loving father and positive role model. Do not forget that the men who are prepared for this task, most women do not give them the time of day; they do not have the mil to fake you out of your mind. Women like men like the Tiger, and women who are just like the Tiger, will always seek thrills, drama, destruction, and the illusions of womanhood to gain their next meal/mil ticket. You can despise these women for our society created them from the same mold that made the Tiger profess he was not black; they told them instead that they can have everything base on the fact that they are white women; and they consume, and materialize, until they are destroying white families and black families. These women have no more interest in their cultural roots, their offspring, than the Tiger.  One these women are takers, and men like the Tiger are fakers.  And so yes, it is well known that criminals collaborate with other criminals. These women have degenerate sexual appetites just like their co-conspirator, the Tiger. And for all of those women who are crying over the Tiger, and praying that he will one day come back home, you are degenerate for believing that you can change anyone, but yourself.

Tiger is another thug in disguise:  he wears suits, he wears sports wear, he carries a gulf club–that is the only disguise he has and if clothes still create the illusion of wellness and stability, yes, black people still have a long way to go in demanding a higher level of recognition and standards than imagery. Take off Tigers mask and you will only see, 50 Cents, and the rest of the degenerate boy-males who were once prey– who in return are only displaying the outcome of their own psychological ills. It is time to take the covers off the mirror instead of the white sheets.

Nobody asked me, but…..

…..I’m amazed. Yet another public figure is accused of marital infidelity. Lots of it. And, like those before him, he apparently thought he could get by with it. Half a dozen women have now come forward alleging they’ve had affairs with golfer Tiger Woods. It appears he was working on more than his golf game in his free time. Don’t you wonder how long this would have gone on had he not had his car wreck? Will he make the standard public apology to his family and fans like so many public figures do, with his devoted wife standing by her man? Also, why haven’t all of the companies whose products Tiger endorses — like Nike and Gatorade — dumped him already?

…..I think a person can be both polite and assertive at the same time. I remember how a few years ago I was glued to the TV when there was a knock at the door from two Jehovah’s Witnesses. I’m an NFL fan, and there was less than a minute to go before kickoff at the Super Bowl. I opened the door, saw who the visitors were and said something like this, “I’m a Christian, I’m happy with my church and the Super Bowl starts in seconds. Have a nice day.” With that I closed the door and hurried back to my LaZBoy.

…..I appreciate humor in everyday life. In November it had been raining and dreary for a couple of days when I ran into my former neighbor, Walcott veterinarian Grant Allison, at the post office. “It will be sunny tomorrow!” he said confidently. “Really?” I asked. “Yes,” he replied. Then he added with a smile: “But I didn’t say in Iowa.”

…..I’m pleased that Eldridge Mayor Brad Noel decided to complete his term and has received a good deal of support and encouragement from many folks as he works through some personal problems. Sure, his difficulties have no doubt been a distraction for him. But I’ve known Brad for a long time and have never once thought he’d let his troubles get in the way of serving Eldridge to the best of his ability.

…..The older I get, the more Thanksgiving means to me. Sure, we all have problems. For many of us, they are just little bumps in the road. For others, they are serious concerns. But we all need to gather with family or friends at least one day a year to remember how many blessings we also have. My wife came up with a neat idea a couple of years ago. At our prayer before dinner as we sit around the table, we all join hands and each person says aloud one thing he or she is thankful for.

…..Every time I read in the paper about another juvenile delinquent getting caught for some misdeed, it occurs to me that school districts need to let teachers drop that boloney about treating little Johnny with kid gloves so as not to damage his self-esteem. I think we need to forget about self-esteem some and let little Johnny know the difference between right and wrong — and that there are consequences for doing wrong. True, teachers shouldn’t have to teach discipline, but some parents certainly aren’t getting the job done.

…..This is the time of year that when a clerk offers the politically correct, “Happy holidays” to me, I delight in answering, “Merry Christmas!”

First of all, I’m not really sure if Tiger Wood’s scandals of late qualify under asian entertainment, but he is part asian and who says golf can’t be entertaining?

Anyhow, the issue of race playing into his sexcapades has got me wondering about how we perceive Tiger Wood to be. I was watching this talk show with a bunch of chicks discussing the fact that he is a black athlete that is getting his hole in one with white chicks (or chicks who ain’t black) as being a sort of status symbol. How can this slight to the black female community be explained?

Black male athletes, because they got money and power, have their pick of the breed and they choose white. Kobe ain’t married to a white chick either. Who’s that dude who’s dating Kim Kardashian? Lamar Odom going for her sister? Tiger going for 12-14 white chicks plus EXCLUSIVELY? To me it does seem to me that black ladies are being devalued merely by the implication that white features are more desirable.

Another thing that I believe could be considered as a point for elaboration is the fact that black ladies who are seen as desirable are almost always light skinned. Tyra? Beyonce? A Keys? Halle? Damn, no dark skinned, big nosed, fat lipped lady…..Tiger’s antics just adds fuel to the burning house.

Okay, I’m not an expert on black culture nor am I a advocate for black beauty, but the other point I would like to consider is…..what if Tiger Wood was considered asian all along instead of black? How would the Asian community react to the fact that an Asian male is solely looking up the panties of the blond hair blue eyed type? Actually…people might consider him a hero because we seldom see asian males and blond hair females together. Would the asian female community be enraged? Probably not since asians aren’t stereotyped as sex-lusting fornicators in the first place and it would be a welcomed disruption of the stereotyped image of the asexual asian male. So what is my conclusion? Tiger Wood should change his dam name to Tiger Wong, that way he would at least be a hero to some rather than a villain to all.

One affair is a mistake, two is a habit, but FOUR? C'mon, Tiger!

Right from the start let me say that I LIKE Tiger Woods. He’s easily the greatest golfer of my generation and has made a pretty solid case for being the best on the links ever. He’s a bit of a showboat, but I defer to Dizzy Dean who said, “It ain’t braggin’ if you can do it.” Another thing that set Tiger apart until recently is the absolute secrecy with which he conducted his private life. The golf course was business and his beautiful wife and family were personal. He did an admirable job of protecting them from the prying paparazzi.

All that is shot to hell now with the revelation that Tiger has been quite the busy little golfer. Unfortunately, it seems he hasn’t only been putting his balls in holes on the golf courses. As it stands, he has four confirmed mistresses and at least one or two more who are likely candidates.

It’s understandable that a man in spotlight like Tiger with all his fortune and fame will be extremely attractive to a certain type of woman who has no qualms about bumping uglies with a family man. Still, it’s up to Tiger to control himself. His wife is gorgeous. His child is beautiful and much to young to be without her father.

Hopefully, now that this is all out in the open, Tiger will find some way to mend his ways IF his wife will let him. If she doesn’t? Well, I’ve heard rumors that Tiger didn’t make her sign a prenup. If that’s truly the case, Tiger might need to play a LOT more golf!

Tiger, you are a phenomenal golfer, but this horrible indiscretion of yours makes you look like a par 5 idiot!

You might have noticed over the past few years that I don’t react very well to people poorly informed about the environment.

 This has nothing to do with compassion deficiency for the stupids but an extreme intolerance to the harsh plastic and artificial people, the bastard politicians, or the religiously intolerant,  or the banker-wankers, or the short term financially insecure and the self  interested petrol-state leaders…   and few more A-holes.

But the regular folks you run into at the green grocer, at the restaurant, the schools and universities, the high street shops, our homes & offices, the hotels and bars – they should all know better. At Christmas I become even more sympathetic to the sensitive issues of the Climate change and the environmental refugees and  third world citizens of failed states.

 I thought I was going to be done with the subject of emailgate when I concluded that Paris Hilton’s Christmas gift boob job was fighting the good and the great from the top spots in the American conscience and the world’s media culture of entertainment twitching.

Having come back from China recently – we focused on the real issues as the Chinese find untold amusement with the preoccupation of the US and western culture and Media… with the useless celebrities as they call them. They can’t understand how come that a golf club jockey (tiny number of people play the most boring game) can command the amount of attention and rewards he does. And when his wife wraps his golf clubs around his head because he sticks his putter where it shouldn’t be – who the hell cares.

The man is a tiger – he can wet his noodle in any kind of sweet and sour soup bowl he likes. He is a star after all. Right? 

When does he stop being a superhero celebrity and he becomes the douche bag of his little bewitched hysterical murderous wife?  And he carries on quietly being a human faced punchbag for her golf clubs?

Does this spot of domestic violence trumps Copenhagen?  

Sadly yes. In America.

What is this world coming to? When the rest of the world looks at the celebrities and their travesties – they fail to hear about things like the Climate Emergency. The 70% of Americans know all about Tiger and lippy pit bull but nothing about the Environment.  How come?

Part of it is the Fox News network mentality of the lowest common denominator. Focus people’s mind on entertainment and they will never rise up from the couch potato position to complain.  You can sell potato chips this way too. 

The errant American TV public has seen Paris Hilton  religious conversion and  penetration video but never have they seen Inconvenient Truth. 

They know all about Michael Jackson but nothing about the Ozone hole or the Greenhouse effects of global warming. They have seen Sarah Palin and may have bought her book – but do they know how to read it?

They like rogue but don’t know what it means.  So Murdoch reasons – If we feed them entertaining mental manure and they grow to be mushrooms – we can count on them to be flat Earthers when the climate or health issues come to the front and they may have to go out and vote.

Show them some celebrity skin and they’ll keep quiet and controlled. Who cares about climate change?  Keep the gas guzzlers running – Get me a Bud and keep the game running on the tube…  Any game will do.

Even golf.  We are not watching – we are hypnotized.

London’s bad enough for celebrity twitching, but that didn’t really get onto the topic of poorly covered news stories about the environment and the world coming together to address the issue.

The total collapse of news judgment last week when Tiger Woods had a run-in with a witch and a tree; somehow became “breaking news”  just hours after the event. I wasn’t particularly surprised that the hotel FOX box and the CNN had turned the story into a global something on par with the death of Michael Jackson and Paris Hilton’s boob job extravaganza – but I was stunned that the BBC was even covering this charade. They were even using up expensive satellite time by chatting to some poor entertainment daft correspondent in Washington who seemed neither interested nor particularly well informed on the Tiger fucked story. 

Maybe he knew the name of the New President of Europe though.

Bet you don’t know that eh?  That Europe has a President too. Forget about his name – at least he was elected but sadly his story can’t go up against the Tiger – woods on the brain block buster.

You Americans know it all…. Anyway.

Couldn’t sleep with jet lag but dozed off and dreamed up last night the Mexican cleaning staff in the newsroom of CNN in Atlanta and the Colombian cleaning ladies of BBC in London; had taken over international news presentation duties – while also moping, dusting and emptying the trash. They had taken up the FOX board of Directors years before…

When I woke up Saturday morning and the Tiger Woods story was still the main feature on CNN, on FOX, the MSNBC and even on the BBC World Service and all other news & finance outlets – I was convinced my dream was reality. 

The telenovela crowd now rules the Newsrooms across the globe. They sorted it all out. Tiger was disfigured by the sad and broken, yet faithful wife that tried to drive a golf stick through his nostrils into his brain….  

Then he tried to escape her seeking medical attention for his sudden white powder, nose bleed and clipped the tree while gardening with his car. The dutiful wife came over to assist or bang him some more – till he is free from this mortal coil.

They are probably both Buddhists… 

End of story. And repeat, and repeat and repeat again…

Over and over and over – ad nauseam.

In media Res  -  you could see & hear all about the world’s top story. The golfer who was wearing his golf clubs… on the head. Peaceful couple meditating and suffering for world’s climate privately.  

Barmaids are involved and strippers have been called…

The great man has announced He is not playing golf this week. He is sleeping late.

You know; Am losing faith – Maybe we aren’t meant to survive as a species after all…   

Later that afternoon, as the cold rain kicked in and darkness fell along the High Street, I popped into my favourite cafe to have a strong bitter coffee and see some friends and talk with some strangers who wanted to interview me…

But what was on my mind was the display tables full of holiday sweets and consumer cheer. I saw the music CDs and books and chocolates and liqueur and then saw the tiny golf clubs. Golf sets with clubs and tiny white balls and a carryon bag and even a bit of green turf roll – sans the little golfer dude doll.  

This can’t be happening. From the TV  news to the high street in less than 24 hours.

Enough is enough I said.

And then was almost blown off my feet. I could sense that something was a little bit off even before I crossed the threshold to the private part of the cafe, but I couldn’t quite detect the presence except everyone was overly animated.  While trying hard to remain nonchalant. As I looked for a new face in the usual crowd, perhaps one of the best people in the world started to smile with a bit of a squint at me and I felt dizzy. Her whites made me dizzy but her boobs were unmistakable. They were new, firm and fabulous.  The best boobs money can buy….

My mammalian brain was exploding in overload.

Paris had shown up to talk about the environment. She wants to be involved.

She wants to ”be in Copenhagen and be well informed and force climate change” (her words)…

That’s it.

Now we are in real trouble…

This is it.  This is the ceremonious day where I post my musings for the World to see.  The day where I let the thoughts in my head run amuck on the screen in a controlled, chaotic fashion.  Perhaps you can see them now, jumping up and down waving their arms frantically for your attention.  Regardless, I’m sure you can see that today should be greeted with much anticipation, great fanfare and ecstatic jubilation.  I’ll pause now for your praise and cheers.  No?  Ok, maybe not just yet, but a girl can dream can’t she?  Yeah she can!  She can also let out an excited exclamation to mark this momentous occasion.  With that, please excuse me as I release my own little ode to joy – “Yippee!”  There, all better now.

With all this built up hoopla you would think that I would have something amazingly important to say.  Something with substance and panache, but I do not.  Today’s thoughts are not deep, they will not move mountains, but then that’s not the point of this blog.  I see my writings as being less about what I say and more about how I say them.  Perhaps some of my blogs will indeed be deep or insightful, but for me, if they have at least an undercurrent of humor to them I’ll be happy.  That is the main thing, the thing I want above all else. The ability to speak my mind in a fun and intelligent manner because I’ve got opinions on everything.  Which is why I named my site Blogging Bollox.

For those of you unfamiliar with this word allow me to introduce you.  Bollox is a British word that means nonsense or bullsh*t.  Ha!  It’s great right?!  I mean what a perfect way to describe my writings, as I’m sure there will be at least a modicum of BS thrown in there.  Yes, it seems appropriate as I see my blog being somewhat whimsical and lighthearted.  Additionally, I see myself not taking any of this too seriously because it’s not my style.

Aside from that though, bollox is also a word I use incessantly.  Bollox, bollox, bollox!  Yesterday alone I must have used the word enough times to put myself in the running for an all time World record, or perhaps to have offended Queen and country multiple times.  This usage of the word has a slightly different meaning than the one above.  Which is one of the many things I love about the word!  It seems to have about as many definitions as it does situations that you can use it in.  A word for multiple occasions.  It’s brilliant!  The original definition of the word is testicles, or if you prefer, balls, danglies, nuts, gonads, tenders, man-jiggles, marbles, bells – you get the idea.  It’s American equivalent would be something akin to “damn it”.  As for my love of the word, I blame that on my over exposure to British movies such as Sliding Doors, Love Actually and Run Fat Boy Run.

So there you go, the explanation of the blog.  As I have no thoughts of great depth to share with you today allow me to volunteer a sacrifice.  An offering of myself to show as good faith.  What is the offering you ask?  It is quite simply a confession.  A secret that should probably remain in my head to be shared with only the most trusted of confidants.  Again, it’s not earth shattering news and it’s certainly not destined for the walls of the “All Time Scandalous Affairs” Hall of Fame, but it is personal and more importantly it is a tad bit embarrassing.  Not move to another state embarrassing (I hope) or Tiger Wood’s infidelity embarrassing, or even throw a Lindsay Lohan tantrum embarrassing, but nonetheless, embarrassing is embarrassing.

My secret is not something that anyone above the age of 17 should admit to.  It is most definitely a guilty pleasure, a vice that should probably be eradicated from my psyche entirely.  That is if I wanted it to be, but I do not.  I like it too much.  It’s so sad but I can’t help myself.  It’s like the gossip magazines in the checkout line that pull me in and refuse to let me go until I’ve looked at them from cover to cover.  In those moments time falls away and before I know it I’ve spent half an hour in the lives of countless celebrities wondering where the time has gone and standing there dumbfounded by how this has happened again.  My excuse is that I’ve become entranced.  Bewitched if you will, and I think that this is exactly the case with the confession I’m about to tell you.  It is hypnotizing.  Although really I should probably say that it is “hip”noticing.

Alright, alright already, let’s have it!  Spill the beans.  What is this sinfully corrupting vice that has me so enraptured?  Ms. Cyrus if you are listening, I’m a 34-year-old moderately hip woman (or at least I used to be) who really likes your song, “It’s a Party in the U.S.A.”  I’m listening to it now actually.  Check it out, I’ve linked the video at the bottom of the page.  Go on, you know you want to!  So there you have it.  It’s out there and I can never take it back.  I hope you’re happy!

If I had any cool points to begin with I’m sure that they are all gone now.  Thankfully my social life doesn’t revolve around cool points, so I have that going for me.  I’m not completely off the hook though.  I’m definitely going to catch hell for this but I don’t care because it’s so damn catchy and fun to dance to!  Granted it’s not up for substance of the year award but it really does make me want to “nod my head like yeah!”  And have you seen the video?  Hot!  The Trans Am alone would make this video cool enough but then it’s got these sexy people in dusty boots doing flips out of trucks in a drive-in full of classic cars.  Dah-damn!  Plus, Miley’s got some looks.  I’m not going there but I’m just saying.  Part of me does want to tell her to put some longer shorts on though.

Now is it just me or does that guy doing God knows what by the trailer look like Jake Gyllenhaal?  That sexy bastard is everywhere!  And I could swear I saw Tobey Maguire in the background trying to look all hip wearing a yellow trucker hat.  They must be trying to promote their new movie Brothers.  I keep thinking that if I look hard enough I’ll find their smoke’n hot minx of a costar Natalie Portman somewhere in the mix.  It’s like a provocative where’s Waldo search.  Yowzers, that woman is fine, and smart too!  Now that’s a combo, but I digress.

As for the song itself I have to say that it’s the beat that hooks me.  That’s sort of my M.O. though.  I’m kind of a b*tch for beats.  When they mix in that synthetic “wah, wah” in the background I’m sold and I just can’t stop moving.  It’s like I turn into a sexy gay boy who’s had one to many drinks at dollar shot night and now won’t get off the dance floor.  Admittedly the words really aren’t my favorite part of the song but I do like the line that says, “It’s definitely not a Nashville party, cause all I see are stilettos, guess I never got the memo.”  To me it sounds like she says it’s not an Asheville party, which is where I live.  Guess I like thinking that our hometown, southern style is just as cool as that L.A. bollox.  Plus I think boots are hotter than stilettos.  Not that I mind a girl in a pair of slinky heels.  No sir!  Hmm… come to think of it stiletto boots might be the perfect compromise.  Damn another vice!  That one was free.

We have two wars going on and an economy that in any sane universe would be called a Depression, yet the top story of the week seems to be Tiger Wood’s alleged marital transgressions.  Where is Walter Cronkite when you really need him?  Frankly, I don’t care who Tiger slept with.  I think it says things about our news media outlets and about ourselves as consumers of information that this is the most important thing that happened this week.  Never mind that the wolves of Wall Street are back to the same sleazy tricks that wrecked the economy in the first place, or that twenty-five percent of the kids in America are hungry.  We must worry about yet another multi-millionnaire jock who can’t seem to keep it in his pants. 

Why do the major (and minor) news outlets think this is what we care about?  Why do we continue to support them by watching one superficial “news” item after another?  Is modern America really that shallow?  Are we unable to cope with thoughtful news pieces about real issues?  If this is the best we can collectively do with all the miraculous ways we can get information here in the twenty-first century, what does that say about our ability to be informed citizens?  How can we vote intelligently on issues that are vital to our society if we are too busy wondering about the latest blonde bimbo to think about the future of our children?

We are fortunate to be living in an age where we can get an endless stream of information, night and day and we squander that precious gift on tedious, sleazy gossip that does nothing to inform or improve us.

In the familiar allegory of the first relationship between a man and a woman there was a significant apple. The story contends that the eating of this apple brought about the “fall of man,^” and that the apple was served up to Adam by a woman.

To this day we tend to believe that a properly displayed temptation, such as the flash of a pair of thong panties, can bring a man down from the highest pinnacle of achievement.

The unmistakable similarity between this more recent display of temptation in the Oval Office and that first one in the allegorical Garden of Eden is all too obvious. But, who would dare to suggest that such a man, or any man for that matter, could actually be beguiled by a clever female and still think of himself as a man?

And so, once again tradition holds: Adam finally accepts full responsibility for “eating the apple”, apologizes, and sets himself up to pay the price for his indiscretion. The unutterable alternative would be to acknowledge that he had been seduced or brought to such degeneration by a mere woman.

Well, if it’s true that women can be so easily brainwashed by the workings of the more generative male mind, perhaps we need to take another look at that. It won’t be easy. To begin with, we’ll have to bring ourselves to consider the possibility that he might actually have a more generative mind. Only then can we seriously consider a real-life example of how it works in everyday life.

A woman must never underestimate the persuasive powers of the male mind. It’s one of the things we find so attractive about him, isn’t it? We may not always like it very much such as when we wake up in the morning and realize we’ve “been had” the night before.

But, even then, we can’t help but admire the way he managed to get what he wanted—how an ordinary man can transform into some kind of genius when he sets out to con or seduce a woman. It’s a gift, and it has a counterpart in female.

We still have the capacity to completely captivate an unsuspecting male and to lead him panting, astray. It takes more than an apple, more than a pair of thong panties. Women are still a mystery to men, and we had better hope that it stays that way.

Sex, in and of itself, does not satisfy the voracious appetite of the male ego (although they’ll never quit believing that it might.) So, what is it that female holds over male? What makes her such a mystery?

She holds the possibility of a more enduring fulfillment—one that can only be administered by a woman. It is non-threatening and it is non-­competitive. It can come, exclusively, from the woman who is confident and happy in her own feminine form. It comes naturally when a woman matures and truly understands and appreciates the masculine gender—free of envy, anger or resentment.

This kind of woman understands that his needs are not that different from her own. She knows that he seeks to be desired, respected and cherished. He needs to be made to feel singularly special like Adam must have felt when Eve offered him the forbidden apple.

P.S. When will we ever hear of a MAN disgracing a famous woman by getting her in the sack and telling the whole world about it?  Interesting thought, isn’t it?
