NEW YORK — Television comedy is Tina Fey’s world these days. Is there room for anybody else?

Fey and “30 Rock,” her series about the backstage world at a late-night network show, swept both the Emmys and Golden Globes in the past year, and she’s set up to do it again at this year’s Emmys.

“30 Rock” earned 22 Emmy nominations on Thursday, shattering a record of 17 for best comedy series that it had set only last year. And Fey was The Associated Press’ entertainer of the year in 2008, in part for her gut-busting impersonation of Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin.

“30 Rock,” which won the last two Emmys for best comedy, is appearing as dominant as “Frasier” was in the 1990s, when it won the best comedy Emmy for five years straight.

Fey, who wasn’t available to talk about her nominations, seems to recognize the roll she’s on. When she picked up a Golden Globe award in January, she said, “I want you to know that I really know how very lucky I am to have the year that I’ve had this year.” On both awards shows, she was named best actress in a comedy.

Other Emmy nominees for best comedy this year are NBC’s “The Office,” “Flight of the Conchords” and “Entourage” on HBO, Fox’s animated “Family Guy” and Showtime’s “Weeds.”

While “30 Rock” is very funny, it also benefits from being popular at a relatively down cycle for TV comedy, said Rob Long, a former writer at “Cheers” who runs his own comedy blog.

“`30 Rock’ is a lot better as a show than it really needs to be,” Long said. “It doesn’t have a lot of competition.”

The series had the kind of surrealistic season finale this year that showed its hip cache. Guest included Mary J. Blige, Clay Aiken, Elvis Costello, Wyclef Jean, Moby, Ad Rock and Sheryl Crow.

The ability to draw guest stars is a strength and gimmick. “30 Rock” won three of the five Emmy nominations Thursday for guest actor in a comedy series for Alan Alda, Jon Hamm and Steve Martin.

It’s the type of show that everybody in the comedy business wishes they had on their resume, Long said.

Still, it can leave rivals feeling crowded. Four of the five nominations for best writing in a comedy series went for episodes of “30 Rock.” One episode of “Flight of the Conchords” was the only exception.

“I think it’s a very good show, a very funny show,” said Greg Daniels, executive producer of NBC’s “The Office.” “I think in the writing category, we could have gotten a nomination, too. I think that’s a little excessive there, the enthusiasm of the writer’s wing.”

“30 Rock” was moved in NBC’s Thursday night lineup this season to a slot after “The Office,” because Daniels’ ensemble comedy has a bigger audience.

In fact, Fey used her Emmy platform last fall to plead for more viewers. It worked. The series had an average audience of 7.8 million viewers this season, up 20 percent over the year before. “The Office” went up, too, to 9.3 million viewers, according to Nielsen Media Research.

The awards show adulation definitely helped, said Jeff Ingold, executive vice president of comedy programming for NBC. He knows from personal experience: Relatives in Michigan and Illinois told him they sampled “30 Rock” because of all the fuss.

“30 Rock” is now in that “Frasier” sweet spot of adulation, even if it seems to have gotten “a little stale,” said Tim Brooks, a television historian and author of “The Complete Directory to Prime Time Network and Cable TV Shows.” The Emmys like repeat winners; “Frasier” star Kelsey Grammer and John Lithgow of “3rd Rock From the Sun” won three Emmys each as best comic actors in the 1990s.

“When they latch on to a show like that, especially if it’s by a Hollywood producer they like, then year after year they tend to go back to the well,” Brooks said.

The last thing NBC’s Ingold is worried about is any kind of Emmys backlash.

“We like winning and we hope to have a lot of wins this fall with the Emmys,” he said. “I can’t think of a downside to winning as many Emmys as we can.”

Galan hålls i september.

The nominees for the 61st Primetime Emmy Awards were announced today. Leading the way with 22 nomina

The nominees for the 61st Primetime Emmy Awards were announced today. Leading the way with 22 nominations was NBC’s 30 Rock. NBC fared pretty wel overall with 67 nominationsl (30 Rock,The Office and Saturday Night Live accounted for 44 nominations); however, the cable networks really flexed their muscles, with HBO pulling down 99 nominations alone.

Now I don’t have time to go through every nomination (the complete list of nominations is a 44 page PDF document), but let’s at least look at some of the major catergories.

Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series

Jim Parsons – The Big Bang Theory

Jemaine Clement – Flight of the Conchords

Tony Shalhoub – Monk

Steve Carell – The Office

Alec Baldwin – 30 Rock

Charlie Sheen – Two and a Half Men

For the most part, there’s not much to argue with regarding these choices. I don’t understand what is so great about Tony Shalhoub, but I’ve never watched Monk and he seems to be nominated every year for both the Emmy and Golden Globe award in this category, so he must have something. I think I would have found some way to work Larry David into the nominations, probably in place of Charlie Sheen.

For a long time, I looked down on The Big Bang Theory because it was not only on network TV, but it was also on CBS, a network who hasn’t produced a relevant TV show since The Dukes of Hazzard. However, Netflix recommended Season 1 of Big Bang and though predictable, I found it to be a throwback to the situational comedy of old–a comfort show. Jim Parsons performance is definitely tops on the show and he is well deserving of this nomination.

Though not as groundbreaking as other HBO series, Flight of the Conchords is quirky and hillarious. For some reason, fusing music and comedy together always packs an extra punch and Clement and co-star, Bret McKenzie definitely deliver in this one. Of the two, Clement comes off as the more memorable and probably deserves the nod over McKenzie. Either way, it’s good to see the show represented.

NBC offers the top two picks in this category, Steve Carell from The Office and Alec Baldwin from 30 Rock. With all due respect to Carell, Baldwin’s Jack Donaghy character is the best on TV right now and already ranks as one of the top television characters of all time.

In my opinion, the choice in this category is rather easy, give me Alec Baldwin from 30 Rock.

Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series

Bryan Cranson – Breaking Bad

Michael C. Hall – Dexter

Hugh Laurie – House

Gabriel Byrne – In Treatment

Jon Hamm – Mad Men

Simon Baker - The Mentalist

This group seems a bit more curious. I’ve heard great things about Breaking Bad, Dexter, and In Treatment, but of the three I’m only seen one episode of In Treatment. It was late at night and I ended up falling asleep. I’m willing to give each of those three shows another shot. The Simon Baker nod makes me scratchc my head. I haven’t seen The Mentalist either, but from the previews it looks rather generic, like most CBS programs. This looks like a nomination to satisfy CBS since it’s their season to show the awards ceremony.

I think Friday Night Lights’ Kyle Chandler and Jonathan Rhys Meyers from The Tudors both continue to amaze me with the way they develop their characters, yet neither one received a nomination.

Be not confused, this is a highly competitive field, but in my opinion it’s a two man race between Laurie and Hamm. Choosing between the two is like choosing between Jimi Hendrix or Eric Clapton to to play lead in your fantasy rock band–you can’t go wrong either way. One is a crazy Brit who has battled through addiction, the other a smooth American, both excel at their art. I think I have to give the nod to Hugh Laurie from House, just because he is a Brit who flawlessly masters the American dialect.

Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series

Julia Louise-Dreyfus – The New Adventures of Old Christine

Cristina Applegate – Samantha Who?

Sarah Silverman – The Sarah Silverman Program

Tina Fey – 30 Rock

Toni Collette – United States of Tara

Mary Louise-Parker – Weeds

My main experience with this group has been with Tina Fey and Mary Louise-Parker. I feel that over the course of the past year, Tina Fey have been over exposed. No doubt that she has talent, but between her Sarah Palin bits and the media’s growing fascination with 30 Rock, it seems like she has been on the cover of every magazine, the star of every awards show and the subject of every podcast. It’s gotten just a tad bit old and stale.

Mary Louise-Parker’s first couple of seasons were amazing. Over the past few seasons, the writing has gotten sloppy and Parker has tried to overcompensate with her acting. Her character has gone way over the top and the show jumped the shark a bit last season. Thankfully, the show has pulled back a bit during the current season, but this award is based on work from last season. Overexposed or not, Tina Fey deserves another award for 30 Rock.

Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series

Sally Field – Brothers and Sisters

Kyra Sedgwick – The Closer

Glenn Close – Damages

Mariska Hargitay – Law & Order: Special Victims Unit

Elisabeth Moss – Mad Men

Holly Hunter – Saving Grace

I classify these nominations in the category of ‘Things That Make You Go Hmmm”. Question marks pop up all over my head when I look at these nominees, are rather the people not on the list.

Let’s start with Connie Britton from Friday Night Lights. I watch her character and I see the small town, Texas mother. I can relate to her character. I see bits of my former teachers, my friends’ mothers and my own mother. No other actress on TV plays such a real character–a character I feel that I walk out my door and see on Main Street.

I’m just as baffled regarding the snub of Chloe Sevigny from HBO’s Big Love. Sevigny has created a character some would describe as a monster, cunning, yet naive. However, you choose to describe her character, you have to be amazed at the depth she gives her character.

If I had to choose between the nominees, I would choose Elisabeth Moss from Mad Men. However, I still maintain that either Sevigny or Britton are more deserving.

Outstanding Supporting Actor ina Comedy Series

Kevin Dillon – Entourage

Neil Patrick Harris – How I Met Your Mother

Rainn Wilson – The Office

Tracy Morgan – 30 Rock

Jack McBrayer – 30 Rock

Jon Cryer – Two and a Half Men

At first glance, this looks like a pretty solid category, filled with big names. On closer inspection, I’m left wondering if some of the nominees are really tht great. Like Weeds, Entourage jumped the shark a couple of seasons ago. If anyone from that cast deserves a nomination, it’s Jeremy Piven, not Dillon. Jack McBrayer’s character is funny because he is goofy, not because of great acting. The only thing more annoying than Tracy Morgan is the character he plays on 30 Rock, Tracy Jordan. Neil Patrick Harris will forever be Doogie Howser, M.D. to me. The Office’s Rainn Wilson deserves this award hands down.

Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series

William Shatner – Boston Legal

Christian Clemenson – Boston Legal

Aaron Paul – Breaking Bad

William Hurt – Damages

Michael Emerson – Lost

John Slattery – Mad Men

Michael Emerson’s “Benjamin Linus” is the best character on television today–period.

Outstanding Support Actress in a Comedy Series

Kristin Chenoweth – Pushing Daisies

Amy Poehler – Saturday Night Live

Kristin Wiig – Saturday Night Live

Jane Krakowski – 30 Rock

Vanessa Williams – Ugly Betty

Elizabeth Perkins – Weeds

Another catergory with some big names, but notably absent is The Office’s Jenna Fisher. I’m a huge fan of Chenoweth, but moreso on stage than on screen. I find Poehler and Krakowski both to be funny, but worth of an Emmy? I look at Elizabeth Perkins from Weeds the ideal comedic character, both in the heroic and tragic sense, for this reason I give her my vote in this category.

Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series

Rose Byrne – Damages

Sandra Oh – Grey’s Anatonmy

Dianne Wiest – In Treatment

Hope Davis – In Treatment

Cherry Jones – 24

Chandra Wilson – Grey’s Anatonmy

Another puzzling group of nominees. Where to begin? Where is Lisa Edelstein from House? What ab0ut Lost’s Elizabeth Mitchell? No love for Cristine Rose of Heroes? So many great supporting females and these are the 6 nominated for an Emmy? Please. None of the nominees are worth of an Emmy, instead I choose to cast vote for another snub, January Jones from Mad Men.

Outstanding Comedy Series

Entourage – This started out as a great show, but has slowly morphed into Douchebags for Dummies and has far more eye candy than substance. Hopefully, Season 6 will see a return to the roots that made this show so great in the early going.

Family Guy – Another on the long list of shows that were better when they began. I still get a ton of laughs from Family Guy, but it just hasn’t been the same since it returned from being canceled the first go-round.

Flight of the Conchords – I used the word “quirky” to describe the cast and the same word can be used for the show. A lot of great moments, but there are also some dry spots. I see a lot of potential for this one, but Emmy worthy?

How I Met Your Mother – I have not seen a single episode.

The Office – It’s one of those rare shows that is so funny and so good that we’re seeing a whole new genre of programming created in its image (see Parks & Recreation). They’ve managed to keep the train on the tracks. The show remains funny and relevant and has yet to go over the top.

30 Rock – The show features a good staff, but two things make 30 Rock great, the writing and Alec Baldwin.

Weeds – Perhaps its’ my ADD and I’ve grown restless with a lot of my favorite shows, but this is another program that has gone overboard with their storylines.

When all is said and done, I put The Office, just slightly ahead of 30 Rock.

Outstanding Drama Series

Big Love – I’m glad to see this show finally starting to get some well deserved respect. Everything about the show–the writing, the directing and, without a doubt, the acting, is extraordinary.

Breaking Bad – See my other earlier post regarding Bryan Cranson.

Damages - Another show I haven’t had the opportunity to watch.

Dexter – See above

House – It’s predictable, but in this case that’s a good thing. You know that every week when you tune in you’re going to laugh, your going to be moved and, most importantly, you’re going to be entertained.

Lost – What can I say? Amazing! So many twists and turns, it’s like a drug–highly addictive and you can never satisfy your appetitie, you constantly crave more and more.

Mad Men – HBO quality on a basic cable budget. My biggest comlaint, as of last season, it wasn’t available in HD on DirectTV yet. Hopefully, that will soon change. That’s about that is missing from this show.

It really is nearly impossible to pick a top drama series from the above mentioned shows, so I won’t. Instead, I choose Friday Night Lights as the top dramatic television series. When I watch the show, I see my hometown. I see a reflection of my life. I see a program that I can relate to in every episode. The characters, story lines and places are all very real to me.

Okay, bear with me, this is bound to be a kinda longish post. A month ago or so I pitched in my Dream Emmy Ballots, saying which actors I would love to see get recognised with nods, yesterday I pitched in my Emmy Predictions, stating which performers I thought, not necessarily loved, would be hearing their names announced this morning. And so, this morning came and went, and here are the nominees. I’ll state the nominees and then a brief opinion in each category:

BEST DRAMA SERIES

Big Love

Breaking Bad

Damages

Dexter

House

Lost

Mad Men

My take on it: Oookay, in this one I have a bit of an issue. Where the hell are Friday Night Lights and/or The Shield and/or True Love and/or Battlestar Galactica? Stupid mistake. Predictable mistakes, but very stupid nvertheless. Kudos on the Big Love nod, though.

BEST COMEDY SERIES

Entourage

Family Guy

Flight of the Conchords

How I Met Your Mother

The Office

30 Rock

Weeds

My take on it: I didn’t knew seven nods could be given, but still four out of my six predictions were okay. Those which I didn’t predict were Entourage, Flight of the Conchords and How I Met Your Mother. Now, I’m pissed because they didn’t give nods to the final seasons of Scrubs (well kinda final) and Pushing Daisies, especially when this past season of Entourage was incredibly weak. However, I’m super psyched about showing some love to HIMYM.

BEST ACTOR (DRAMA)

Simon Baker (The Mentalist)

Gabriel Byrne (In Treatment)

Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad)

Michael C. Hall (Dexter)

Jon Hamm (Mad Men)

Hugh Laurie (House)

My take on it: The usual cats, however the one unusual nod was to Simon Baker, and that nod I’m very very happy about, even though it meant no nod to James Spader. And I would say that meant no nod to Kyle Chandler, but that would be a lie, Emmy voters just don’t want to give Chandler a nod it seems, even though he’s one of the best on recent television history.

BEST ACTOR (COMEDY)

Alec Baldwin (30 Rock)

Steve Carell (The Office)

Jemaine Clement (Flight of the Conchords)

Jim Parsons (The Big Bang Theory)

Tony Shalhoub (Monk)

Charlie Sheen (Two And A Half Men)

My take on it: This race is obviously still between just two guys: Baldwin and Carell. However, it’s surprising to see Clement there, and I’m getting bored with Shalhoud and Sheen, especially when they could’ve given nods to Braff or Levi. And HELL YES to Jim Parsons’ nod.

BEST ACTRESS (DRAMA)

Glenn Close (Damages)

Sally Field (Brothers & Sisters)

Mariska Hargitay (Law & Order: SVU)

Holly Hunter (Saving Grace)

Elisabeth Moss (Mad Men)

Kyra Sedgwick (The Closer)

My take on it: Predictable stuff in this one too. However, I’m extremely psyched about Moss getting recognised, but pissed as hell Ms. Connie Britton didn’t her long due nod. And where are my Big Love girls??

BEST ACTRESS (COMEDY)

Christina Applegate (Samatha Who?)

Toni Collette (The United States of Tara)

Julia Louis-Dreyfus (The New Adventures of Old Christine)

Tina Fey (30 Rock)

Mary-Louise Parker (Weeds)

Sarah Silverman (The Sarah Silverman Program)

My take on it: Dunno about Sarah Silverman since they should’ve given a nod to Yvonne Strahovski instead. But otherwise a pretty okay category with me, especially loved Toni Collette getting her due for an amazing performance. However, this is still Tina’s.

BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR (DRAMA)

Christian Clemenson (Boston Legal)

Michael Emerson (Lost)

William Hurt (Damages)

Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad)

William Shatner (Boston Legal)

John Slattery (Mad Men)

My take on it: To say that I’m ecstatic about Aaron Paul getting a nod would be a gross understatement. And William Shatner wasn’t gonna go out without a nod.

BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR (COMEDY)

Jon Cryer (Two and a Half Men)

Kevin Dillon (Entourage)

Neil Patrick Harris (How I Met Your Mother)

Jack McBrayer (30 Rock)

Tracy Morgan (30 Rock)

Rainn Wilson (The Office)

My take on it: Anyone else notice a familiar name’s missing? That’s right, no nod for Jeremy Piven. Pissed about not seeing his name, however that just means it’s all the more certain Neil Patrick Harris will finally win. And loving the two 30 Rock nods. And Dillon should take a hike to make room for the far-awesomer Michael Urie.

BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS (DRAMA)

Rose Byrne (Damages)

Hope Davis (In Treatment)

Cherry Jones (In Treatment)

Sandra Oh (Grey’s Anatomy)

Dianne Wiest (In Treatment)

Chandra Wilson (Grey’s Anatomy)

My take on it: Man am I happy as fuck to see the trio of In Treatment ladies, they were all nothing short of spectacular. And kinda bittersweet not to see Katherine Heigl for some reason. And, I’ll repeat a question I asked before, where the hell are my Big Love girls??

BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS (COMEDY)

Kristin Chenoweth (Pushing Daisies)

Jane Krakowski (3o Rock)

Elizabeth Perkins (Weeds)

Amy Poehler (Saturday Night Live)

Kristen Wiig (Saturday Night Live)

Vanessa Williams (Ugly Betty)

My take on it: Possibly my favorite category since they nominated Chenoweth and Wiig, two of my favorite people on current television. Amy got hers, as did Krakowski and Williams. Elizabeth Perkins is the only one I’m not really feeling.

GUEST ACTOR (DRAMA)

Edward Asner (CSI: NY)

Ted Danson (Damages)

Ernest Borgnine (ER)

Michael J. Fox (Rescue Me)

Jimmy Smits (Dexter)

My take on it: You would’ve seen me raise hell if I hadn’t seen Jimmy Smits’ name on that list. And I’m also VERY psyched about seeing Michael J. Fox there, VERY psyched indeed.

GUEST ACTOR (COMEDY)

Alan Alda (30 Rock)

Beau Bridges (Desperate Housewives)

Jon Hamm (30 Rock)

Steve Martin (3o Rock)

Justin Timberlake (Saturday Night Live)

My take on it: Predictable nomination onslaught by 30 Rock in this one, and one of those three gentlemen is bound to take it home. However, surprisingly cool to see Timberlake up in there.

GUEST ACTRESS (DRAMA)

Brenda Blethyn (Law & Order: Special Victims Unit)

Carol Burnett (Law & Order: Special Victims Unit)

Ellen Burstyn (Law & Order: Special Victims Unit)

Sharon Lawrence (Grey’s Anatomy)

CCH Pounder (The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency)

My take on it: I never seemed to quite catch on with the SVU buzz, so yeah I’m rooting for either CCH our Lawrence to win this one.

GUEST ACTRESS (COMEDY)

Jennifer Aniston (30 Rock)

Christine Baranski (The Big Bang Theory)

Tina Fey (Saturday Night Live)

Gena Rowlands (Monk)

Elaine Stritch (30 Rock)

Betty White (My Name Is Earl)

My take on it: I’m definitely rooting for Baranski to win this one. And always awesome to see Tina get her zillionth nod.

Below are the nominees for the major categories of the Emmys nominations released earlier today. I will post my thoughts and picks in the near future, but needless to say, the Emmy voters got more right than usual, but why do people who hate television so much get to select what is the best of television?

Big Love

Entourage
Family Guy
Flight of the Conchords
How I Met Your Mother
The Office
30 Rock
Weeds

Alec Baldwin, 30 Rock
Steve Carell, The Office
Jemaine Clement, Flight of th Conchords
Jim Parsons, The Big Bang Theory
Tony Shalhoub, Monk
Charlie Sheen, Two and a Half Men

Christina Applegate, Samantha Who?
Toni Collette, United States of Tara
Julia Louis-Dreyfus, The New Adventures of Old Christine
Tina Fey, 30 Rock
Mary-Louise Parker, Weeds
Sarah Silverman, The Sarah Silverman Program

Jon Cryer, Two and a Half Men
Kevin Dillon, Entourage
Neil Patrick Harris, How I Met Your Mother
Jack McBrayer, 30 Rock
Tracy Morgan, 30 Rock
Rainn Wilson, The Office

Quem merece ganhar é Rainn Wilson, mas seria sensacional ver Tracy Morgan ganhando o prêmio.

MELHOR ATRIZ COADJUVANTE DE COMÉDIA
Kristin Chenoweth, Pushing Daisies
Jane Krakowski, 30 Rock
Elizabeth Perkins, Weeds
Amy Poehler, Saturday Night Live
Kristin Wiig, Saturday Night Live
Vanessa Williams, Ugly Betty

MELHOR ATOR CONVIDADO EM COMÉDIA
Alan Alda, 30 Rock
Beau Bridges, Desperate Housewives
Jon Hamm, 30 Rock
Steve Martin, 30 Rock
Justin Timberlake, Saturday Night Live

Categoria fraquissíma, só falta o Justin ganhar.

Jennifer Aniston, 30 Rock
Christine Baranski, The Big Bang Theory
Tina Fey, Saturday Night Live
Gena Rowlands, Monk
Elaine Stritch, 30 Rock
Betty White, My Name Is Earl

Big Love
Breaking Bad
Damages
Dexter
House
Lost
Mad Men

Simon Baker, The Mentalist
Gabriel Byrne, In Treatment
Bryan Cranston, Breaking Bad
Michael C. Hall, Dexter
Jon Hamm, Mad Men
Hugh Laurie, House

Glenn Close, Damages
Sally Field, Brothers & Sisters
Mariska Hargitay, Law & Order: SVU
Holly Hunter, Saving Grace
Elisabeth Moss, Mad Men
Kyra Sedgwick, The Closer

Christian Clemenson, Boston Legal
Michael Emerson, Lost
William Hurt, Damages
Aaron Paul, Breaking Bad
William Shatner, Boston Legal
Rose Byrne, Damages
Hope Davis, In Treatment
Cherry Jones, In Treatment
Sandra Oh, Grey’s Anatomy
Dianne Wiest, In Treatment
Chandra Wilson, Grey’s Anatomy

Edward Asner, CSI: NY
Ted Danson, Damages
Ernest Borgnine, ER
Michael J. Fox, Rescue Me
Ellen Burstyn, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit
Sharon Lawrence, Grey’s Anatomy
Kevin Kline, Cyrano de Bergerac (Great Performances)
Sir Ian McKellen, King Lear (Great Performances)

Regina George is going to kick Beth Cooper's Ass

Regina George is going to kick Beth Cooper's Ass

Originally I was going to write this post about how I Love You Beth Cooper sucks, but I think I wrapped it up pretty good right there. Do yourself a favor and enjoy the hijinks in Larry Doyle’s hilarious and sweet novel rather than the big screen rip off festival. Hayden sucked and mailed-in her performance care of Mean Girls and Pouting. There is a reason everyone on Heroes wants to kill the cheerleader. ‘Nuff said.

On to my new inspiration: the 2009 Emmy Nominations. Overall I think they are pretty good. 30 Rock dominates–as it should–and Flight of the Conchords got 5 nominations! Junkie1 love is in the air. Unlike my feelings for the theatrical release I shall from this point on refer to as Beth Cooper-Scooper (get it? pooper scooper…anywho), I am a bit torn about the Emmy nods.

Here’s what is awesome:

1. 30 Rock bulldozes the competition with 24 nominations!
Ratings schmatings. This show is fan-frickin’-tastic and deserves each and every single nomination. I’m lizzing just thinking about it. Sabor de Soledad!

2. Flight of the Conchords got 5 nominations including an Outstanding Lead Actor nod for Jemaine Clement!
I have been singing the praises of FOTC since day one, and I am stoked that they were nominated for so many awards–especially for one of my favorite episodes of the second season, Unnatural Love. That episode shed light on the age old conflict between Aussies and New Zealanders and explained the problem with having Too Many Dicks on the Dancefloor. Would you care for a clip?

3. Dexter does it right with three big noms.
Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama nod for Michael C. Hall as the title slicer, best guest role for Jimmy Smitts as the devilishly delirious D.A. Miguel Prado, and Outstanding Drama Series. Way to stick it to ‘em, Dex! Check out the brilliant marketing for this show, too!

4. Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog gets a nomination…oh, yeah and so does Neil Patrick Harris for How I Met your Mother!
Legen–wait for it–DARY and kudos to the Whedon clan, too! “Give my regards to St Peter… or whoever does his job… but in hell.” Classic. Watch it!

5. True Blood gets a nod for Outstanding Main Title Design.
True dat! Watch it here–it is freaky good (as is the music on that show, in general). I wanna do bad things, too!

Other things that rule: So You Think You Can Dance Nappy Tabs 4 of the 6 noms for Outstanding Choreography (check out my gush post about the show here), Family Guy’s history-making nomination for Outstanding Comedy Series (outside of the animated category), and Alec Baldwin’s Hulu commercial gets nominated.

Here’s what sucks:

1. Pushing Daisies gets dissed…sort of.
With the exception of the just nomination of Kristin Chenoweth for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series, all of the PD nominations were for looks (art direction, hairstyling, make-up, costuming). Don’t get me wrong, that show was (was… ::weep::) gorgeous! But the entire cast and guest stars were brilliant. Boo for not giving props to the other actors on this gone-too-soon show! RIP, Piehole!

2. Michael Emerson (Benjamin Linus) is the only actor nominated from LOST.
Come on. What about Yunjin Kim (Sun) or Josh Holloway (Sawyer)–they were so awesome this season! Grr. No offense, Ben–you don’t mind if I just call you Ben do you, Michael?–but this show is way too awesome for so little recognition. Okay so they did get nominated for best drama series, but only one writing nod and one acting? ::Pfft::

3. United States Of Tara only gets one nom for acting, too.
Toni Collette’s portrayal of Tara Gregson (and Buck, and Alice, and T, and especially Gimme) is very worthy of the nod, but nothing for her phenomenal co-stars Brie Larson and Keir Gilchrist that play Tara’s long-suffering children Kate and Marshall?! Travesty.

4. Dancing With The Stars gets nominated for best reality competition show.
I am sure you get that I am in love with So You Think You Can Dance by now so riddle me how one show dominates the choreography category, but loses out this category to the “B [at best] Star Showcase Showdown?!”

5. Family Guy gets an out of the box nod.
It’s definitely a funny show, but WTF about The Simpsons. Where is/was the love for a show that was pushing envelopes and out-funnying most live-action comedies before Family Guy was even a twinkle in Seth MacFarlane’s eye. ¡Ay carumba!

Other things that suck: Nada for Fringe, in fact nada for anything sci-fi. This puts a whole new meaning to Battlestar Galactica goes out with a bang (as in they cease to exist) This awesome little number was only nominated for technical awards. Despite my love for the True Blood nod above, wtf gives for the total lack of love for the acting?! Come on, Lafayette rules?! Also, the fact that Two and a Half Men continues to get nominated for anything (I’ll retroactively gripe about the same phenomena for Everybody Loves Raymond).

Entertainment Weekly readers picked their most loathed snubs, too. After reading which, I was reminded how pissed I should be that PSYCH was dissed again!! Damn it, Janet!

Just imagine what I’ll be like after we find out who won? Meow!

Let’s go!

E a Alison Pill coitada?

Em Best Comedy Series tivemos 30 Rock (duh), The Office (duh²), Entourage (duh³), How I Met Your Mother, Family Guy, Flight Of The Conchords e Weeds (yeah!); 3 das vagas já eram óbvias e tivemos essas 4 surpresas, acho que poderiam ter indicado The Big Bang Theory, United States Of Tara e Pushing Daisies no lugar de How I Met Your Mother, Family Guy e Flight Of The Conchords!

See you guys!

Power to the People?

2009 Emmy Nominations Analysis

The people have the power, and the people have pretty darn good taste.

That’s the story out of this year’s Emmy award nominations (click here for Cultural Learnings’ list, and here for the Academy’s) where a few key surprises and a couple of major snubs indicate that the popular vote was not in any capacity an absolutely travesty for the Academy, as some quite logically predicted. I spoke earlier this week about just what the definition of popular would end up indicating, and the answer appears to be a healthy combination of an appreciation of great television and an eye for trendy selections. The result is an Emmys where nearly every category has a silver lining, and where a few snubs are not enough to give the impression that there’s going to be some very deserving winners in this field.

Mad Men and 30 Rock Dominate

There is no surprise here, don’t get me wrong: no one expected the iron grip of these two shows to stop after dominating last year’s proceedings. However, the scale of that domination is quite ludicrous. 30 Rock has 10 acting nominations, 4 writing nominations, 3 directing nominations, plus its nod for Best Comedy Series and all of its other technical nods. The result is an absolutely staggering number of nominations, and I’m happy about it: I like seeing Tracy Morgan, Jack McBrayer and Jane Krakowski all get nominations for their work along with Fey and Baldwin, and although the four writing nominations kept other shows out of the running they are four pretty fantastic episodes.

Mad Men, meanwhile, didn’t add quite as many nods, although it did pick up a Lead Actress nomination for Elisabeth Moss, which makes me extremely happy. As I said in my preview, I really expected January Jones in the category, but I prefer Moss’ less showy role at the end of the day. Still, combine with Hamm (also nominated for his guest stint on 30 Rock) and Slattery returning (I’d have preferred Kartheiser, but I’ll take it), and its own four writing nominations (plus a directing nod), and the show is without a doubt dominating on the drama side of things.

Out with the “Popular,” In with the Popular

In the biggest shocker of all considering the popular vote, the Comedy Series category had one shocking exclusion and one suprising (but oft predicted) inclusion. The exclusion is the most popular comedy on television, in terms of viewers - Two and a Half Men failed to secure a comedy nod, something it has done in years previous. This makes me question the definition of popular, especially with the inclusion – Family Guy, the first animated comedy series since The Flintstones to make it into the category. While The Simpsons always chose to compete in the Animation category because it also reflects the work of the animators, Family Guy chose to cut out the animated part and compete with the big boys, and it paid off. However, unlike last year where they could submit their Star Wars special in order to get credit for the animators, this year they’re left off entirely, so MacFarlane’s ego is being boosted at the expense of the show’s direction.

The Sophomores Triumph

No one was quite sure what would happen with Breaking Bad, a second year show that won Emmys last year but without much support around it. Well, we have our answer: although snubbed out of both directing and writing, the series picked up a nomination for Drama Series, and Aaron Paul snuck into the highly competitive Supporting Actor (Drama) category for his work on the show, in addition to Bryan Cranston’s nomination for Lead Actor. Damages also impressed, delivering nominations for William Hurt (undeserved, but whatever), Rose Byrne, Glenn Close, Ted Danson (Guest), as well as Series and Directing nods.

The Freshmen Fail

True Blood had a real shot at some awards love, but it was empathically shut out of the proceedings: it’ll probably contend with United States of Tara for best Title Sequence, but with no Drama Series or Lead Actress love, it’s clear the Emmys didn’t find its vampire story appealing. That’s unfortunate for the show, but it’s a trend: no Freshman series broke into the series categories, and only Simon Baker (The Mentalist) and Toni Colette (United States of Tara) made their way into the major categories.

HBO “Domination”

In a popular vote, nobody quite knew where HBO would end up, but the answer is in far better shape than people anticipated – although Mad Men and Breaking Bad have AMC as the new “it” network, HBO is still holding some cache. Not only did Big Love score a huge surprise nomination as the 7th contender in the Drama Series race, but Flight of the Conchords is honestly the biggest story of the awards. With a Comedy Series nomination, a shocking Lead Actor nomination for Jemaine Clement, plus both writing and directing nominations, the show blew onto the radar like it wasn’t struggling with growing pains in its second season. While everyone saw the show’s Carol Brown getting an Original Song nod, the love wasn’t anticipated. The network also performed well with In Treatment, which missed the Drama Series race but picked up three acting nods (Byrne, Davis, Wiest).

The Year of How I Met Your Mother

I let out an extremely girlish “Yay,” nearly dropping my computer, when How I Met Your Mother was listed as one of the nominees for Outstanding Comedy Series (and I even predicted it!). I know it has no chance in the category, but its nomination is a vindication of the highest order that voters went with the popular vote, and that it jumped from not even being in the Top 10 to being in the Top 7. I call it the Year of HIMYM, though, because Neil Patrick Harris has an open door to pick up an Emmy for Supporting Actor in a Comedy – long live Barney Stinson.

After the jump: Surprises! Snubs! Etc.!

The Surprises

Kristen Chenoweth: The Pushing Daisies co-star wasn’t expected to return to the category with the show being canceled in December and all, but to the joy of all she makes it back, and could theoretically contend for the category considering that last year’s winner, Jean Smart, is noticeably absent.

Kristen Wiig and Amy Poehler: Sure, Poehler is riding in on the halo of Tina Fey’s Sarah Palin, nominated for Guest Actress in a Comedy, but both of these women and funny, and Wiig especially was the only thing other than Fey’s Palin to really hit it and hit it hard this year on SNL. I’m disappointed with some of the snubs in this category, but still happy to see these two get some love (especially with Poehler getting pushed out of Lead Actress by…)

Sarah Silverman: I thought that, with no dirty song about Matt Damon, that Sarah Silverman would have no shot here, but she garners herself a nomination against the odds. She’s got no chance of beating the two frontrunners, Tina Fey and Toni Colette, but she should be pleased to be nominated.

Jim Parsons: It wasn’t really a surpise to see the Big Bang Theory star nominated, and the show itself got little love, but nonetheless I’m pleased to see Parsons grab a nomination for his great characterization of Sheldon. It’s the kind of role that brings in voters, and I’ll be curious to see who wins in the battle of the socially awkward between Sheldon and Monk.

Padma Lakshmi and Tom Colicchio: The Top Chef co-hosts are my new favourite people considering how much Top Chef I’ve watched recently, so their nomination (over Howie Mandel) was most enjoyable for me. However, Tim Gunn must be pissed that he wasn’t named as co-Host alongside Heidi Klum, since he could have easily garnered a nomination as well.

Elizabeth Perkins: I live Perkins, I like Weeds, and I like her character Celia, but this one’s a headscratcher. With some other pretty big competitors, she was able to sneak into the category along with fellow familiar face Vanessa Williams, both of which were in a position to be booted out of the category.

Cherry Jones: In a category (Supporting Actress Drama) where she could have been replaced by Marcia Gay Harden (rightfully snubbed for Damages, in my eyes), Candice Bergen or quite a few other folks, Jones’ inclusion is a surprise for her work on 24. She follows in the footsteps of Jean Smart, who was nominated for her role on the series’ fifth season.

The “Happy” Snubs

Ah, yes, what we’ve all been waiting for. Let’s go down the list of those snubs that, while they aren’t necessarily good in that they were bad performers, are ones that open things up and demonstrate a sea change of sorts.

Jeremy Piven: He’d won three years in a row for Entourage, but it appears that a bout of suspicious mercury poisoning has done in a perennial winner. With his colleague Kevin Dillon still making the category, this one is a clear sign that the man’s cache with voters may have been driven more by his tapes than by his personality, which here opens up the category.

Katherine Heigl: A year after deciding she didn’t have the material on Grey’s Anatomy to win an Emmy, and two years after winning one herself, and in the year where her character gets cancer and nearly dies, Heigl is entirely left out of the Supporting Actress category, although her mother (Sharon Lawrence) grabbed a nod, and both Sandra Oh and Chandra Wilson were nominated from the show.

James Spader: The Boston Legal star has won this award three times, but in a highly competitive category the Academy went with newcomer Simon Baker in favour of the veteran performer. It especially hurts since his two co-stars, William Shatner and Christian Clemenson, did grab nominations, so it’s not like the show was forgotten (although it was left out of Drama Series).

Two and a Half Men: I mentioned it above, but I need to mention it again – Yay for No Two and a Half Men!

The “Not Happy” Snubs

These I’m just angry about.

John Krasinski and Jenna Fischer: These two remain the heart of The Office, but neither were able to garner nominations, even with their respective fields opening up. Fischer is a particularly tough snub, as there was a lot of room in the category and some stalwarts kept her from grabbing her spot in the race.

So You Think You Can Dance? and Cat Deeley: Perhaps airing in the Fall this year will allow the show to gain some more recognition from the Academy, but anyone who attempts to argue that famewhoring Dancing with the Stars is a better celebration of dance and basic humanity than So You Think You Can Dance? is out of their hot tamale minds. Deeley, meanwhile, has more charm than you can imagine, and hopefully will gain her shot in time. Let’s just say that SYTYCD’s four choreography nods didn’t happen independent of the show’s overall quality.

Battlestar Galactica, In General: I had no expectation of either Mary McDonnell or Edward James Olmos breaking into major categories, nor the series itself, but I had high hopes that the show could garner writing and directing nominations. I’m glad it picked up the latter, as Michael Rymer deserves recognition for his work on the show, but that Ronald D. Moore didn’t pick up a writing nomination disappoints me. I love Mad Men and Lost both, don’t get me wrong, but Moore got robbed.

Friday Night Lights, In General: Yet another casting nomination and yet another year where the people who the show cast and the show’s deft writing and directing to highlight that cast are entirely snubbed – expected, sure, but still totally uncool, Emmy.

The Cast of Lost, In General: Michael Emerson makes it into Supporting Actor, which is good, but it’s still sad to see not another face (especially Josh Holloway and Elizabeth Mitchell, along with Jeremy Davies) into the category. It’s not like there wasn’t room for one or two, I’d gladly cut a few supporting players from other shows.

Amy Ryan: I will never forgive the Emmys for nominating Jennifer Aniston over Amy Ryan in the Guest Actress (Comedy) category, period. Ryan’s performance was heartfelt, charming, and brought out the very best in The Office. Aniston, meanwhile, was a walking trainwreck who contributed to a rough beginning to 30 Rock’s first season. Frankly, I knew it would happen, but I’m still extremely angry about it. Holly Flax deserves better.

Better Off Ted: It, and Portia de Rossi, never had a chance, but I’m still saddened by the fact that the show never broke out. De Rossi never even got a nod for Arrested Development, so she never stood a chance, but it doesn’t mean that this isn’t another example of how good shows don’t always equal Emmy.

Cultural Observations

Perhaps the most competitive category is Original Song, as weird as it sounds. Previous winner Justin Timberlake has two nominations, with “I Love Sports” and “Motherlover” competing, but then you have three other selections. The first is Hugh Jackman’s opening number from the Oscars, which was kind of fantastic (I always find its Anne Hathaway Frost/Nixon part stuck in my head), and the second is for the musical highlight of Flight of the Conchords’ second season, “Carol Brown.” The other challenger is Stephen Colbert, whose duet with Elvis Costello from his Colbert Christmas special is nominated. My money’s on Brown, but Timberlake will probably win it just to spite me.

Tina Fey had a chance to be nominated for an insane four Emmys, which she was nominated for last year, but her episode submission to the Writing category didn’t get a nod. She’s probably glad, as she said last year she didn’t deserve it over her fellow writers, but it means she will have to settle with three nods. Poor thing.

Didn’t really have a place above, but Dexter continued to hold up for Showtime: Michael C. Hall remains in a tight category, Jimmy Smits draws a guest nod, and the show remains in contention for Drama Series. The network’s Californication, however, fails to garner any nods, and although Weeds performed well United States of Tara only managed to break into Lead Actress.

I haven’t watched The Shield yet, but I do know its final season probably deserved more credit than it got here, which was none.

24’s return managed to get some momentum, with Cherry Jones into Supporting and Sutherland into Miniseries Actor for Redemption, but no Sutherland in lead and the series can’t even manage a nod with a 7th spot.

Of my predictions, I was awful in the supporting categories, but did manage to predict both Simon Baker’s inclusion in Drama Actor as well as How I Met Your Mother breaking into Comedy Series. Otherwise, I was way off, but that’s kind of the fun of it all.

As far as the guest categories go, the one snub that’s more surprising than upsetting is Salma Hayek on 30 Rock – it’s strange that she didn’t pull a nod considering the length of her guest stint.

Okay, that’s enough for me – leave your thoughts below! Let’s hear from the other “people.”

It’s been quite a while since my last post. I’d like to say that I spent the time sippi

It’s been quite a while since my last post. I’d like to say that I spent the time sipping sweet tea vodka with my new best friend, Tina Fey NPH, but that would be an unfortunate and desperate lie. And unfortunate, I am not. Despite my still unrequited pleas, I must press forward in pursuing my dreams. Because what good are dreams if they are easily obtainable? (That is what the man in the corner liquor store said to me to convince me to exchange my $138 in Coinstar money for 138 lottery tickets.)

So, what have I been doing for the last couple weeks? I’ve been stuffing, packing, and padding. Although, in some circles, that sounds like something you would do in the champagne room of the neighborhood windowless bar, double-fisting vodka tonics or human melons—my task was not quite that exciting. I have spent the last few weeks moving across the country, in an attempt to find Tina Fey NPH on the west coast.

I’ve moved quite a bit in my life (especially for someone in her mid-20s), and I pretty much always underestimate the amount of time it takes to fully pack your belongings. After weeks of passive packing, I finally reached the “what the hell do I do with this shit” part of the move—aka, the final 10%. This segment of any move, while relatively small in a numeric sense, takes the greatest toll on the mover in terms of sanity and time. This is the part of the move where the mover stares at a particular “what the hell do I do with this shit item,” stare at it some more, sigh, find something else to do like play Mafia Wars on Facebook, stare at it some more, and finally decide that the best course of action is to again watch the Nappy Tabs’ choreographed performance on SYTYCD so that the mover can perfect lyrical hip hop and become a world-famous dancer by Season 8. I digress.

Long story short, the hubby and I finally packed up all of our crap and were ready to embark on a new journey.

While at the airport, waiting for my flight to northern California, I scanned the premises for inspiration for a new spec script. A cute family was waiting for the same flight, and they were playing with their unbelievably adorable Maltese puppy, whose name I later discovered was Snowball. Although Snowball was only 9 months old, he was quite well-behaved and did not need a leash to understand that he needed to stay close to his family. As I sat there, sipping my overpriced coffee, I began to wonder how the hubby would react to me bringing a puppy home—my canine stupor was interrupted when a woman walked by with her child . . . on a leash.

Before I comment on leashed children, I should first add the caveat that I am not a mom. I have never babysat any children, so perhaps I’m not in a position to judge. But I literally fell out of my seat into convulsions, trying to hold my laughter in, as I watched this little leashed girl petting an unleashed puppy. The leash was about 2 feet long, and the mom held the leash as the little girl moved around the waiting area. Apparently, the little girl had not learned the “heel” command, because she was often pulling the leash complete taut, in a fruitless attempt to investigate her surroundings. As I was watching this scene, I began furiously texting friends. I also tried to take a picture with my cameraphone, but I was not quick enough to get a good shot. (Mom did, however, turn around when my cameraphone made an incredibly loud noise when I tried to get a snapshot off, after which I quickly pulled my phone in and looked around in a completely inconspicuous manner).

In any event, as I was watching the scene unfold before me—leashed girl cooing and petting unleashed puppy—I realized that I was not the only one staring. Dozens of other individuals stole glances, and I had a Eureka moment.

I must find a leash. If this otherwise nondescript girl could get dozens of completely bored individuals at the airport to look at her, perhaps I too could generate publicity by attaching myself to a leash and having the hubby lead me around! Of course, I would have to avoid spiked and rhinestoned leashes, because the hubby and I would only attract swingers (and I’m not sure how fast I can run away from swingers if Iwere attached to a leash). I will design my own leash—wide enough to contain, in hot pink, the words, “Discover me, Tina Fey NPH!” The hubby will walk me around the streets of San Francisco, and I will pull forward, panting as the collar restricted my airways. I am a writer. I am a genius. And I will be a human dog.

Discover me, Tina Fey NPH!!

When it comes to taking responsibility for her failures, Sarah Palin is completely unaccountable. Her finger is always pointed at the most convenient scapegoat. Last fall, I said she was George W. Bush with lipstick; nothing is EVER her fault. With her resignation, she has set a new bar for blame.

A 10 Month Accounting of Blame…

Troopergate was her brother-in-law’s fault.

Walt Monegan was a rogue commissioner.

Neglecting a vetting of Palin’s appointed replacement of Commissioner Monegan wasn’t her fault, she didn’t know Chuck Kopp had a sexual harassment charge. His 14 day employment was rewarded with a $10,000 severance package.

Her public press conference, pro-Pebble Mine stance during a contentious election was the fault of a “Governor’s hat” wardrobe malfunction and possibly Tim Griffin.

The legislative investigation wasn’t her doing. It was a “Democratic driven, partisan witch hunt” voted on by 10 Republicans and 4 Democrats after Sarah Palin challenged them with Bush-like bravado “Bring it on!”

When her church was burned, Palin blamed it on the attention she was receiving from people who didn’t like her.

The Branchflower Report’s “guilty of abuse of power” findings weren’t her fault; she filed her own ethics complaint and would release those favorable findings the day before the election.

When an Anchorage based right wing radio host disagreed with her policies, in an email she blamed it on, “…some evil stuff going on with him.”

Her criticisms when her witch hunting, governor-anointing pastor, Pastor Muthee, was exposed, were the fault of people who hate Jesus.

Her failed interviews were Katie Couric’s and Charlie Gibson’s fault. She called them “Gotcha questions.”

The interview complete with compliments about the porno “Nailin’ Pailin’” with “Sarkozy” poser shock jocks was the fault of McCain Campaign staffers.

Her exorbitant wardrobe was the RNC’s fault.

Her charging the state per diem to sleep in her own bed and flying her family around the country at state expense were nothing more than petty ethics complaints from whiny constituents.

Her daughter’s problems are Levi’s fault.

Her VP political loss was John McCain’s fault.

Her image problems are Tina Fey’s fault.

Turkeygate was the cameraman’s fault.

Her policy on aerial wolf hunting was Ashley Judd’s and other Outsiders’ fault.

Alaskans damn near starved in Western Alaska last winter because they didn’t have enough cookies or Jesus.

The resignation of Attorney General Talis Colberg had nothing to do with the advice he gave Todd Palin and aides to ignore subpoenas. She blamed it on the “harsh political environment”created by lawmakers.

Palin thought Ted Stevens should “step aside” when convicted last fall. When Eric Holder overturned Steven’s conviction, Palin thought Begich should resign.

When 6 million gallons of stored oil sat at the base of an erupting Mt. Redoubt, it was Homeland Security’s issue, not her fault.

The empty Juneau Senate seat wasn’t on her; it was the Senate Democrats’ fault.

When Palin blew off a meeting with lawmakers in Juneau to have a press conference with Wayne Anthony Ross, the legislative leadership called a heated press conference of their own. Palin blamed them for not having the meeting “telephonically”…then it got messy.

Her failed appointment of a “if you can’t rape your wife, who can you rape?”, secessionist, gun toting attorney general, Wayne Anthony Ross, was the fault of the Alaska bloggers.

The failure of Palin’s bills last session were the fault of partisan legislators.

In March, the governor said she wasn’t “rejecting” the stimulus money, she just wasn’t “accepting” it. It was Obama’s fault for the national debt.

The inability to follow through with multiple speaking engagements had nothing to do with Palin’s commitment phobia,. It was a misunderstanding with scheduling.

When a legislative aid made copies of an article Palin didn’t like, she went to his office and blamed him for letting his boss know she wouldn’t be in town for the last days of the session. Really

After making a speech, Palin was accused of lifting words from Newt Gingrich and Craig Shirley in 2005. Palin’s attorney said it wasn’t her fault, she said Newt’s name twice.

The ethics complaints against the governor were “unscrupulous” and Obama driven.

No one believes the governor’s “word salad” as an explanation for her resignation, but that’s the fault of an Alaskan blogger-me.

She blamed the ethics complaints for costing Alaska “millions of dollars”, except they weren’t. It was less than $300,000 and of that, $187,000 was from her own politically motivated complaint, filed on herself to distract an interested public from the damning Branchflower report.

Sarah didn’t want the travel costs of a “lame duck governor” to be billed to the state, and blamed her resignation on it in part…but she flew, on state dime, the equivalent of Miami to LA in the seven days since resigning.

She has half a million dollars in personal legal bills and must resign, blaming ethics complainers for her expense…but those legal bills will be paid in full, courtesy of her massive legal defense fund.

Levi says she’s out for the money…but his opinion doesn’t matter. She blames his opinion on having a movie deal in the works.

It’s Rahm Emmanuel and President Obama’s fault that Sarah Palin has constituents who think she sucks at her job.

Under the Palin Administration, the Department of Health & Social Services has been so poorly managed the federal government has forbidden the state to sign up new people until they get their act together. So, I guess that would be the fault of people who are both poor and sick and old.

The Constitutional crisis created by Palin’s resignation isn’t her fault, the legislature should have seen this coming years ago.

No, Governor Palin, your losses are your fault.

Sell crazy somewhere else, we’re all full here.

.

A primeira, obviamente, é a Internet.

E pela TV, nós temos entretenimento quase on-demand.

E entretenimento enlatado, diretamente dos USA bitch.

VAMOS LÁ, então, top 5 de séries favoritas.

xxx

QUINTO LUGAR: 30 Rock

HOT.

xxx

QUARTO LUGAR: Full House

xxx

TERCEIRO LUGAR: Rules of Engagement

Rules of Engagement é engraçada e tem a Megyn Price.

Anyway.

xxx

SEGUNDO LUGAR: The King of Queens

"Comédia que entrega" - Trocadilho not funny.

xxx

PRIMEIRO LUGAR: ‘Til Death

Ah, e feature:

HOT!

xxx

Termino mais esse Top X tosquinho.

Eu gosto de TV sabiam?

UPDATE: eu não gosto de House e ODEIO Two and a Half Man.

Tracy, Kenneth, Jena, Grizz e Dot Com em "Midnight Train to Georgia"
Assim como a primeira

Tracy, Kenneth, Jena, Grizz e Dot Com em "Midnight Train to Georgia"

See you guys!

(sung to the TV theme of “Mighty Mouse”)

The legislature never hangs around
When they hear Sarah Palin’s sound…

“Here I come to save the day!”
That means that something else is on Ebay

If your favorite drink is Miller Lite
Sarah P. will fight your fight
With Todd they are a twin bill
Their fav’rite war-cry is, “Drill Baby Drill!”

She kills endangered species
She hates polar bears
That’s the scent of turkey feces…
In her hair!

(In her hair!)
(On her clothes!)
(On her breath!)
(In her lair!)

We’re not worryin’ at all
We’re just listenin’ for her call

“Here I come to save the day!”
Please God, this time let it be Tina Fey!

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are goddesses. They are both razor sharp, quick-witted, and with impeccable timing. Fey especially, with her brilliant sitcom 30 Rock. Unfortunately, Baby Mama is a rote, formulaic comedy in which you can predict every next step. Fey and Poehler, though, manage to have some fun, even if the film doesn’t come close to approaching the zaniness or edge of the duo’s TV work. Greg Kinnear is likable as Fey’s romantic interest, and Steve Martin and Sigourney Weaver are indispensable in bit parts. So this isn’t a very good movie, but I couldn’t bring myself to truly dislike it. It has a goofy spirit.
