I know I did get the regular influenza vaccine and the HlN1 influenza vaccine, so what the heck is this mess I have had and cannot seem to get rid of? After a trip before Thanksgiving to the Methodist-LeBonheur Minor Emergency upon leaving work early and a six-day course of a Z-pack or azithromycin, I am still coughing up loads of mucus and feel pretty rough.

I stayed home from work today mainly in my bed all day. Unfortunately, I could not get a doctor’s appointment. Maybe tomorrow? My sweet Tinkerbell and Onnie kept close and snuggled to take care of their sick Mommy.

The bad part is my poor Phillip has picked it up from me. He was fighting it for a couple of days, but tonight he was really feeling bad I could tell. I am trying my best to get him to the doctor also as he did not have the H1N1 influenza vaccine and possibly not the regular influenza vaccine either.

If anyone out there has had this stuff and had a medication which worked, please post a comment with the magic name of that medication for us. Azithromycin does not seem to be the magic bullet.

In the meantime, sneezy, coughy, achy, and breaky, in and out!

The cute little pixie we know as Tinker Bell got her movie start in the 1953 Walt Disney Film  Peter Pan.   In this film she becomes very well known for being jealous of any girl who gets close to Peter Pan. Tinker Bell is also famous for her Pixie Dust; which when sprinkled on you can make you fly.

Tinker Bell, an overwhelming standout from the film, went on to be featured in many Walt Disney ventures. She made appearances on television in the show Disneyland, which was done to promote the theme park Walt Disney was hoping to complete.

Tinker Bell has continued her flight during Disneyland’s fireworks, and continues to be one of the most loved Disney characters. Rarely seen at the parks except for the nightly flight, Tinker Bell now appears in the Parade of Dreams; much to the delight of her fans.

In October of 2008 Disney released an all-new Tinker Bell movie.  This movie shows how Tinker Bell began and introduces us to several of her fairy friends.  Rosetta,  Iridessa,  Silvermist and Fawn try to help Tinker Bell be something other than a Tinker.

Gisselle turned the big 6 this year. And sadly I had to go to work and wasn’t able to spend the whole day with her. Before I left for work, she got her Tinkerbell cake (which I ran around half a day trying to find the specific kit for the cake 2 days prior). She got here bday gifts and off to work I went. I love how Sue Sylvester “Cs” it, which is why I’m stoked that Glee’s most scene-stealing personality jumped onto the Twitter bandwagon. Loved her in Best in Show, loved her in Bam Bam and Celeste, and quote at least three of her lines every week when (the World Series for the World’s Most Boring Sport isn’t on and) I get to watch Glee. (Speaking of, so glad they revealed the reason for Tina’s god-awful stutter. That was just distracting to listen to.)

Amber Riley just tweeted that Jane Lynch has a Twitter account, and even though her one and only public tweet thus far dates back to five months ago, it fills me with – glee - to think that she coulda been, like, three feet away from me some time before or some time after she toured Pixar.

She’s absolutely hilarious. I am seriously considering starting up a Tumblr of just Sue Sylvester’s lines. (My fave from “Wheels:” “I will projectile express myself over your Hush Puppies.”) Over 5,000 fans who’ve subscribed to just one post can’t be wrong.

Unrelated: Billiam and I are watching some Tinkerbell movie. I know people who hate Tinkerbell. I know people who love Tinkerbell. She’s like the Beyonce of the fairy world.

Hey! I’m sorry I haven’t been posting; it’s just that I have a huge Europe project to work on and it’s been kinda stressful. Today was our last school cert exam! haha computer skills. It was alright pretty easy, we’ll see when we get the results

I bought Face of Australia spray tan today and Maybelline NY  Instant Age Rewind Double Face Perfector concealer.

I used the self tanner today, like just then. It comes out a dark brown colour and I think i appied it badly haha. Next time I’ll remember to spray from further away and mor evenly xD Camp is on Monday!! I hope noone notices my blotchy tan xD if it is, I duno if its developed yet, probably not. But we’ll see

And today we had basketball at 6.15. We played The Queens of Leon, which is the All Stars except with a different name. We won 8-19 :D Bella didn’t come cos she left her uniform at school xD was it a good thing that she didn’t come? I scored 4 points I think the basketball stand at home is really helping with my shooting After our game we stayed and watched the game with Max from year 9, he’s cute haha. The other year 9’s were playing on another court, and they suck xD Yun was there to watch her brother. There was this girl there sitting next to Max on our bench when we were playing, probably the sister of one of the guys on Max’s team. She’s so pro at shooting! during the half time breaks and breaks between games she was shooting and she swished like all of them!!! seriously! What a beast. Lucky she doesn’t go to our school

Yesterday me Anna Ling and Nivvi went shopping at towers to get Ling’s formal dress. we found a awesome off-white one at forever new, strapless with bead things at the front and pockets xD I made her try on this greeen dress at blockout and it was like Tinkerbell!!! hehe.

Anna bought material from Lindcraft. Chiffon and this other shiny white material. Reminder: Anna owes me $25 and Jeanette owes me $50.

For the past 14 years there has always been one constant thing when visiting the Gamblin Home… Tinkerbell. Tinkerbell was our fun loving yellow lab who as we used to say would kill a robber by licking them to death. Our yellow lab was unique, special and part of the Gamblin Family. She was not only our dog but a dog that seemed to be loved by all. Our neighborhood all knew who Tinkerbell was. Tinkerbell spent most of her days not only at our home but on the porches and front door steps of neighbors. Neighbors who we had never met, but they knew Tinkerbell.

Age got the better end of our Tinkerbell. It is hard to talk about Tinkerbell as she spent her last days with us as she was not hearing or seeing well and it would be hard for her to get up to see you when you got home. But on a warm fall day Tinkerbell would chase a tennis ball and act like she was a puppy again which was always fun to see.

Many people have always asked me how did we decide on the name for Tinkerbell? When Tinkerbell was a puppy she used to get really excited and pee all over the place. (When Tink gets excited you better watch out her tail because it was deadly!)  Someone said that she tinkled tinkled in the garage. It also helped that we are huge Disney fans and Tinkerbell was a perfect fit.

So in this blog post I am going to share my top 10 favorite memories of our dog Tinkerbell

10. The first night we got Tinkerbell Hillary our animal lover of the family slept in the laundry room with Tinkerbell so Tink would not cry throughout the night.

9. Manure and cows. This would definitely be my mom’s lease favorite memory of Tinkerbell who would roll in the local cow pasture and cover herself in manure. Tink would wander back on home covered in green and brown manure cacked on her hair.  My mom would tie Tink up and get the hose out to clean her off and yell at her. I honestly think Tink did this at times to get back at my mom and I am being dead serious.

8. Tinkerbell dominated by the cat. FU (Pronounced Foo and spellled F…. U…. still a great inside family joke) was a mean cat. Tinkerbell and FU did not get along very well. Tinkerbell was not your typical dog as she got along with all our cats. They would sleep together and never had an altercatio but that excludes FU. Tink had her kennel in the garage with her blanket. FU would parade her way into her kennel and take over the blanket leaving no room for Tinkerbell. Tink instead of getting into with it with FU would just take it from the cat and sleep on the cement.

7. Dynamic Duo Tinkerbell and Andrew. I just want you to imagine a little boy Andrew (not the 18 year old version now) with just barn boots, swimsuit, no shirt, a shovel and a yellow lab. Now imagine Andrew screaming at Tinkerbell to stop getting in his way as he would dig. Tink then would always try to catch the rocks and dirt Andrew threw to the side.

6. Dog at sea. While at our cabin on Lake Cle Elum we all jumped in the boat to go waterskiing and about 5 minutes later we noticed that Tinkerbell was half away across the lake in the water following us. She was so far away from shore that we had to pick her up in the boat and take her back to shore.

5. Christmas Lights. Putting up Christmas lights at our house is an event often times turning into a 2 day event. As light bulbs would break or fall onto the ground it was always a mad dash to grab Tinkerbell before she started to eat the broken glass. Tinkerbell would eat just about everything including rocks which she had an odd fascination with.

4. Hose and Water. Tinkerbell like many yellow labs loved water but I have never seen a dog to the extreme as Tink. While watering plants she would attack the water coming out of the hose. This would turn into a game as we would squirt the water in the air and watch Tinkerbell try to catch the water. It even got to the point where Tinkerbell would grab the hose and drag it out so we would turn on the water for her to try to attack.

3. Neighborhood Dog. Tink not only was our dog but she was the neighborhood dog. There was a span where Tink definitely added some pounds as all the neighbors felt they needed to give Tink bones and treats. She loved being up at our neighbors and especially the Lyman’s who offered many times to adopt Tinkerbell from us.

2. Tinkerbell and the cabin. There was nothing more fun then taking Tink up to our family cabin on Lake Cle Elum. Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall Tinkerbell would jump into the lake and take a swim. Tink loved the cabin. All you would have to do is say Cabin and she would be ready to jump in the back of the truck. I think Tinkerbell liked the cabin the most as she would sleep in the laundry room.

1. As mentioned before that Tinkerbell would drink water from a hose. This involves the Dynamic Duo of and Andrew and Tink. One day while Andrew was digging in the dirt he decided that going into the house to go the bathroom was to much. Andrew decided that going outside was a lot more convenient. Long story short I walk around the corner to Andrew giggling while going the bathroom and poor Tinkerbell trying to drink or should I say bite his pee.

We will miss our beloved Tinkerbell. Coming home will never be the same. We will miss that smile from our yellow lab.  Maybe now she will learn how to drop a tennis ball!

Okay, before you guys whack my head off with a sledgehammer, let me explain why my supposed ‘Halloween’ entry is about 10 days late. The last few days, I’ve been working on two projects: T.Y.B.S. Weekly Sulit Bashing and preparations for my little angel’s 1st birthday concept. My wife and I finally agreed on the venue and which politician clowns to hire as added entertainment. By the way you’re all invited all your gifts are invited. So those kept ‘Ape’ the blogger busy. I still have a regular job so don’t call Social Services yet.

So there was this terribly organized Halloween program for kids in our village on the same day Typhoon Santi hit the country. I don’t really understand why they pushed through with it. I mean, how can the innocent little children in monster costumes go out in the open to get candies?! But no typhoon can stop the organizers and these kids from partying!

especially this man-child in a Trojan costume. He was really the highlight of my day. Effort!

 A couple of things that stood out that day:

1. One homeowner actually had cotton candy makers outside his house to attract kids (and adults) alike. It was the first time I ate cotton candy since David Hasselhoff was manning the beaches (and bitches) in Baywatch.

 2. Another homeowner was giving away, not candies, but JOLLIBEE CHEESEBURGERS man. Hands down the best gimmick of the day.

3. Saving the best for last…my little girl. Who was absolutely ’stunning’ that day. She was Tinkerbell. I’m George Estregan Jr.

Elf Love!

One morning we awoke to find that our elf had taken Tinkerbell on a date!

We found them parked in the family room in a Barbie convertible!  The elf had his arms wrapped around Tinkerbell!  Who knew?  I guess it makes sense, she IS a pixie!  Must be the pointy ears!

The movie of the night…Elf, of course!  It was playing on the tv, in front of which the lovebirds were parked!   Drive-In movies are very romantic, indeed!

I made this cake and cupcake set for the first birthday of my friend’s daughter.  She is a lovely little girl!

The cake is frosted with buttercream icing sprayed with blue and violet food color to get an uneven effect.  The flowers are made with royal icing which you should do in advance to ensure that they are dry by the time you use them.  The leaves are made with buttercream icing.  The Tinkerbell topper is something you can get from Wilton easily.  The stars on the wires are also made from royal icing.

My Verdict: Not

Leave them alone! You can make them more like your 3-D characters from Finding Nemo and Monsters Inc., but don’t change their looks! That’s how we grown to know them and recognize them.

My daughter signed up to play in “Pixie Hollow” as a fairy with Tinkerbell and her friends.  Disney supplied a link to an “Arrival Day Parent Pack“.

WTF?

It has a congratulations card for me to print for my daughter for this “very special occasion” and special treats for me to make and a sign to print.

I get that Disney is a marketing machine.  They are marketing wizards but holy cow … this is an online game.  If a parent actually did all of that nonsense, what the heck would be expected for real life accomplishments?  Fireworks?

I can’t remember where I first spotted Belsante, but she sometimes appears among rare medieval variants for Isobel.  I’d venture to guess she started out as a diminutive, though I’ve also stumbled across Belsante as a surname.

She’s certainly elegant, even dramatic, isn’t she?  And yet, Belle and Bella are accessible – and overwhelmingly popular – nicknames.

With parents seeking an alternative to mega-hit Isabella, choices like Annabel and Arabella are on the rise.  So are rarities like Maribel – a family name JLo used her daughter Emme’s middle – and Mirabel, as well as surname spins like Bellamy.

Worrisome suggestions abound on discussion boards: Harry Potter villain Bellatrix, Biblical bad girl Jezebel and Disney Tinkerbell.  (For the record, JM Barrie’s character is actually Tinker Bell.  And I’m fairly certain that suggestion came from someone not really naming a baby.  I hope.)

My Cute Dressups will be blogging a 10 part series on Disney on Ice-Princesses.  It is a fabulous show where ice skaters dressed in costumes act out stories of the Disney Princesses set to music and with beautiful sets.  Children of all ages dressed up in princess costumes come to share the joy together.

Washington, DC – A new Zogby poll published today indicates that 55.4% of Republicans believe in Tinkerbell.  “We are the party of magical thinking and Tinkerbell is part of that,” said Republican national chairman Michael Steele. Twenty eight percent indicated they did not believe in Tinkerbell and 16.6% said they were undecided.

Lagunatic always reads stories to the kids at bedtime. Last night, after a few raucous renditions of Dr. Seus’s “Mr. Brown Can Moo, Can You?”, we turned the lights off and snuggled up but Julian wasn’t ready to sleep just yet:

“Mommy, I want to tell you a story.”

“Ok! Go for it!”

“Ok. Once upon a time there was a beautiful princess named Tinkerbell. She lived in a big castle…..she put on a lot of make-up……and there was a staircase……………..the old witch locked the door………………….and the staircase didn’t go to the top……………the old witch tried to dead Tinkerbell…………..but then Superman came……………and he made the witch dead………The End!!”

I’m guessing it’s still a bit too early to discuss why he can’t mix DC and Marvel.

I was able to find a little time this month to go have some fun. I used a beam of ambient light streaming in from in between the trees. Then I reflected it to highlight the left side of her face.
