Ive spent the last few months in and out of London. A bit like a Frisbee. Or a boomerang. Im actually bothering to write this with an inky pen first (Im vain about my handwriting) and its beginning to stain my fingers.

Ive collected together some of the photos Ive taken in London since winter, although the winter ones themselves may be scarce. I don’t take my hands out of my pockets much in winter. Locations include St. Pauls Cathedral, Muswell Hill, Alexandra Palace, Queens Wood and Mick Jones chest of drawers.

My stints in London are always plagued by mysterious lights and ghostly happenings. My friends may agree that at these times I was heavily under the influence, not true. There is one particular light; we like to call it an orb or a fairy, that floats around the room at night. We’ve checked every possible source for this light but can find no reasonable and scientific explanation for it. Which suits me right down to the ground, I don’t believe in science anyway. We tried but failed to record it on camera.

And then there are the woods. Not as scary as some would have you believe. But reasonably scary.

What is it about the Holloway Road? I have a painting in my head for one particular scene I saw there, a mixture of traffic lights, and the vivid blue of the emergency services, funny it’s such a pretty blue. There always seems to be some mishap on the road, Nambucca? I was there. Not my fault may I add.

Morrissey. Not a fan really. I watched him being carried around Muswell Hill. By the end of the night he did look slightly the worse for wear but apparently once he made it back to New X he somewhat revived. New X has the effect on you.

Dirty Pretty Things (pictured above by the Thames River in a photo by Roger Sargent) are back, with their new single, “Tired of England,” due to be released on June 23rd in the UK. (Dirty Pretty Things’ new album, Romance At Short Notice, follows on June 30th in the UK.)

“Tired of England” is a catchy piece of power-pop, sounding like a combination of The Smiths circa 1984 and The Kinks around the time of their stellar Face To Face album. “Tired of England” is less heavy than most of the material on Dirty Pretty Things’ 2006 debut, Waterloo To Anywhere.

Dirty Pretty Things (which feature ex-Libertine Carl Barat on guitar and vocals, fellow ex-Libertine Gary Powell on drums, Didz Hammond on bass, and Anthony Rossomando on guitar) will be playing some of the big outdoor music festivals in the UK this summer. They will be appearing at the O2 Wireless Festival in London’s Hyde Park on July 4th, the Reading Festival on August 23rd, and the Leeds Festival on August 24th.

Hippy son es el nombre de la canción que Dirty Pretty Things ha sacado para descarga gratuita en su web.

El grupo del ex-Libertines Carl Barat sacará al mercado su segundo álbum de estudio “Romance at short notice” el próximo día 30 de Junio. Antes, el día 23 saldrá su primer single “Tired of england”.

De momento, apagan un poco la sed de sus incondicionales con Hippy son, y además gratis.

Para conseguir la canción, has de entrar en su página principal y suscribirte al “mailing list” donde enviarán periódicamente información de la banda a tu mail.

De momento no hemos escuchado la canción, así que agradeceríamos que alguien comentara sus impresiones sobre Hippy son, y que le parece que va a ser este nuevo disco.

Ja 30. juunil saab kättesaadavaks album, mil ametlikult nime veel pole. Lugude nimekirjas on paar täiesti tundmatut ( Buzzards And Crows, Kicks Or Consumption, Blood On My Shoes), mõned eelmisest suvest tuttavad lood ( Plastic Hearts, Come Closer, Chinese Dogs) ja mõned üksikud korrad esitatud lood ( Hippy Son, Tired Of England, Fault Lines, Best Face, Truth Begins, The North).

La banda del ex-The Libertines Carl Barat sacará su segundo álbum de estudio el próximo día 30 de Junio.

Antes, el día 23, sacarán su primer single “Tired of England”. El álbum ha sido grabado entre Los Ángeles y Londres, y según el propio Carl Barat ha sido un duro trabajo; “estábamos dentro de un gran agujero y encontramos una salida, subimos uno encima del otro hasta salir, y ahora tenemos este disco”, “hemos trabajado más duro que en el primer disco y gracias a ello es un disco más sincero”.

En la noticia de NME Magazine nos desconciertan un poco diciéndonos al principio que el álbum aun no tiene título y poniéndonos luego el tracklisting de “This is where the truth begins” (representando el título del nuevo álbum). En la página oficial del grupo no han dicho nada al respecto del disco aun.
