I had two nightmares last night, I think thats what I’m gonna blame all this shit on. the first was, i was mega huge ass saggy man boobs fat. it was horrible, i didnt even have a chin. bleh. nad the second was I was being chased through a field by a flying sheet that kept sing ”baa baa fat kid, I will eats you  now!”

So I didnt exactly sleep very well. :’(

wow, just got a notification that I have an email from homebase notifying me that they are currently have a sale. BLEH to that maties, I’m sick.

SUSAN Boyle shrugged off claims that she had a break down during her visit to America earlier this week as she signed autographs for fans outside her home in Blackburn.

The star has been pictured in tears as she was surrounded by fans in New York’s Rockefeller Centre, where she was doing a live performance for NBC’s Today show.

But she said that her trip had been “absolutely brilliant” as she proudly posed with her debut album.

Casually dressed in a cream jumper and sporting a black beret adorned with jewels to keep away the cold, the 48-year-old waved to passers-by on the narrow street where she lives.

Looking happy, she said that she hoped people would like her album.

I Dreamed a Dream is set to be number one in the album charts this weekend, after setting the highest first-day sales of the year with a whopping 130,000 copies flying off shelves.

And it is on track to beat the highest first-week sales of 375,872 for a debut album, which was set by Leona Lewis two years ago.

The CD is dedicated to the singer’s mother – Bridget Boyle who died in 2007 – and each song was chosen by SuBo because it had a special meaning.

Her management strongly denied that the Britain’s Got Talent performer had a breakdown whilst in the States, saying that she was overcome by emotion after receiving a quilt from fans.

A spokesman for Susan said: “She was just overjoyed and extremely touched with the reception she has had from everyone in America.”

I know, strange title but if you’re familiar with what we’ve been through, you will understand the ability to say “thanks” is obedience to God’s Word where He says to “give thanks in all things”. So, no I’m not being ungrateful, just living in the moment of today and enjoying the blessings He’s given us and how faithful He’s been in sustaining us! This is actual progress if you think about the fact that we were living second to second, then moment to moment, so day to day is moving closer to where we should be. We will dream again about our futures. We will look forward to things again. We are experiencing hope again just not looking too far out in the distance, staying right here, just today! That’s great to us, believe me!
Some times when we have family devotions, the kids ask to go around and do our little “give thanks through the abc’s” and it can get be somewhat of a challenge. We start with “a” and that person has to name something that begins with “a” that they’re thankful for, even if it’s a little difficult. Think about some of the letters. It can get really hysterical but mostly the kids are serious and very thankful. Sometimes something comes to mind that we don’t normally consider and it’s a real eye opener. It’s a great reminder of all the blessings God has provided for us! So, today, when you’re filling your bellies, we will be for sure, remember everything, every little and big detail of your blessings and Have an amazing THANKFUL THANKSGIVING! Our God is so Good all the time! Then become as restful as a stuffed slug deserves to be for Just Today! God bless all of you!

I’m hoping this letter finds you well and in excellent spirits for the coming holiday. I know, I know, it’s been quite awhile since you last heard from me–trying to go it alone now, even though it looks like I might have mucked things up a bit. Anyway, since I’ve been pretty good this year, and because you’re a busy man and you hate last minute requests, I thought I’d send you my wish list right now, in plenty of time for Christmas:

1. I need a new car: Yes, I said need and not want, because it’s been well over a decade and the time has come for a new set of wheels, which is why it’s number one here on my list. However, before you say “Ah-hah, one of those little Smart Cars ought to do the trick,” I just want to add that my taste in automobiles is pretty much the same as it was in my Lincoln-Continental days. That is to say that, although I do appreciate fuel economy, I’m simply not a small-car gal, and, if you take into consideration my frugal ways regarding energy consumption, I really do think I could be trusted with, say, a Cadillac. (I’ll leave the color to you.)
2. A new computer: Now on this one there’s a little room for compromise. Meaning, a newer computer will suit me just fine, as long as it comes equipped with a decent printer and the design programs and Apps I’ve grown accustomed to having and that, as both an artist and writer, I’ve come to rely upon. (Be careful with it on the stairs, please. They can be rather tricky in the dark.)
3. New boots: Size eight, but don’t forget to add a half size for a pair of thick wool socks, or in the event that they may come with a lining. Also, I’m going to have to be somewhat picky here because I’ve been investigating this and, seriously, there are a lot of ugly boots in the market lately. Sure, a beggar can’t be choosy but, geesh, no man-made materials or space-age designs, please. And, as is customary, no less than 1 1/2 inch heels. (If you remember, a two-inch heel with a tall shaft typically works best for me, and, by the way, laces are perfectly all right, too, though pull-ons or zip-ups would also be cool. As to the theme, I’m leaning toward western or combat this year, something that balances the concept of kick-ass with cute, but I want a square toe, nothing round or pointed. Again, you may pick the color scheme.)
4. Books: Books have gotten soooo expensive of late. Not my books, of course, but most everyone else’s are just out of this world now. I know you read a lot so, if you can toss a few of your favourites under the tree, I’d be grateful. Per usual, hardcovers are most desirable to me and, yes, I still prefer non-fiction over any other category, with biographies heading up the list. But don’t even trouble yourself with those so called “Bestsellers” as I’ve learned from experience that such lists are thoroughly rigged and, thus, cannot assure a quality read anymore. (In short, just find some truly good books if you can, irrespective of who may have authored them, and surprise me!)
5. Firewood: Yup, you’re right, this request is not for myself but for the Landlady, who, I can vouch for, has been just terrific every single day of the year. If you could deliver her a full cord as opposed to a face cord, and see to it that it’s all split and neatly stacked right outside the door–her door, not mine–that would be really great. (She’s a rugged individual, but she turns sixty this year and, unfortunately, so does her back.)
6. Something for the cats: I know I can speak for my Landlady here when I say that the animus between our animals must end, ASAP. Regrettably, we are at a loss ourselves as to how to achieve this, for, in truth, we have tried everything we could think of, and yet my poor (snooty) Princess is still actively stalked by Lord Findlay (pronounced finn-lee) and lives virtually every waking moment in certain dread of him. Therefore, I am suggesting a gift for these two otherwise exemplary and very well-behaved kitties that explores the idea and possibility of sharing, even though I have no idea what that would potentially resemble. (Having said this much, however, I implore you not to supply them with a chipmunk, bunny, bird, or the like, because neither of their humans have a stomach for murder and mayhem, and, moreover, such a present isn’t likely to bring about the spirit of cooperation we are hoping for and constantly seeking.)
7. Democracy in Burma: In light of how many times I’ve brought this subject up in the past two decades, I’m aware that it may seem I’m harping on it, but within that time span nothing has changed in Burma but its name–the military junta is still in power and the duly elected leader still remains under house arrest, a situation that is not only beneath her but which is negatively impacting her health overall, as well as that of her nation. I understand when it comes to issues like world peace you prefer to look at the big picture, which I respect, but I truly think this is a matter that requires your closer scrutiny. Thus, I am requesting once again that you free Aung San Suu Kyi for Christmas and, if that’s too short notice for you to act upon, then at least in time for her to participate in Burma’s election next year. (I’d be willing to trade the new car in exchange for this, but I can’t budge an inch for a new computer.)

Now, obviously poor Burma isn’t the only place in the world with bad people living in it and, quite frankly, I can name plenty of them dwelling right here in my own hemisphere. I’m only mentioning this just in case any of these individuals have requested a new home-entertainment system from you, for which you have, on proper review, deemed them completely unworthy. Mine, as you’ve probably already heard, went and kicked the bucket on me this month and, as a result, I haven’t been able to watch a home-movie for weeks now on end. (But, since it’s arguable that I could be constructively utilizing all that extra time to finish work on my new novel, I’ll just have to leave this one to your discretion.)

Well, that just about covers everything this year, and, notwithstanding that my wish list is rather short, I think you’ll find it nevertheless comprehensive. Naturally, I have omitted many smaller items from it that might conveniently fit into a stocking. Should you decide to indulge me, you’ll find those hung (with care) beside the broken television, as I no longer have a chimney to speak of. On that note, you’ll also find my new digs kind of small and a bit cramped to work in, for which I apologize in advance. As to me, you’ll see I’m much older than the last time we met, although, I suspect, fairly recognizable. Some things, however, will never change so, yes, I’m still a very light sleeper, but don’t worry about that; I will, as agreed to in the past, pretend that I’m not awake when you get here. By the way, remember to look for your glass of milk on the table by the door. Per usual, it will not be warm, but it will be spiked with good rum, so go easy on it if you’ve got more stops to make. Also, I don’t know if you’re watching your sugar these days, but I’m going to put out a plate of gingersnaps for you, too. (They’re low-fat, low-cal and low-carb, so you might want to give them a try anyway.)

i had planned to leave at 12:25pm via the amtrak and get to san jose at around 3pm-ish.  i had it all planned out — i’d take the bus to campus at 7:50am so that i can carry my luggage, finish class, chill for an hour, eat lunch with kuljit, board the A-line bus, get to amtrak within 5 – 10 minutes, get my ticket, and be done.

TODAY WAS LIVING PROOF THAT THINGS CAN ALWAYS, AND I MEAN ALWAYS, GET WORSE

the morning bus did not come. i eventually gave up waiting for it, so just before 8am (when my class starts), i decided walking was my only option. it just sucks that i live off campus, i’m carrying luggage, and in order to walk to school i needed to circle around the whole building (because of the bus stop location)… in flats. yea, not a great experience! i eventually got to class… it was kind of funny because i opened the door and everyone looked at me. some snickered since i was rolling luggage and a little out of breath. i don’t think i missed too much though. class was normal (sans some students… but they never really talk anyway so not much to miss)–boring as hell.

oh i got an 89 on my final. it’s pretty decent considering i thought i was going to get a 75 since i totally bullshitted the paper… i don’t even get what the fuck my point was xD

after class, i just chilled at the silo (a pit stop of sorts? with a canteen? places where buses stop and across is a huge barn filled with food and places to eat) until 11am. initially, i was planning on boarding the 11am bus to the amtrak, but kuljit said she didn’t want to get on campus that early (ok… she implied it), so i relented and decided to take the 12pm bus instead. BIG FUCKING MISTAKE ON MY PART. but anyhoo, i treated her out to lunch. we talked, including my “sexiling” (as said by my sister) by my roommate and her boyfriend the past weekend. we also agreed that i should live with her next year, so that’s settled =D

the bus was super crowded. like literally filled to the brim with people squished all next to each other. the bus driver… though i understand that he’s just doing his job… was a total douche puppy. i hope swine flu befalls him for not moving the fucking bus even though no one got on after 5 minutes…

i ended up late at the amtrak. the lady yelled, “the train isn’t going to wait for you! i suggest if you can’t print out your ticket then bring your reservation print-out and pay an extra $9!!”

not wanting to miss the train, i ran. hurt my ankle in the process but i got on… only to realize i did not have the extra $9. i would’ve, except i spent that $10 bill on shitty Chinese food at THE OLD TEAHOUSE (fuckkk you!! *sob*). so i got off before they would kick me off when they find out i don’t have anything. incredibly shitty.

turns out the next departure for san jose was at 3:50pm. i had no other choice; i stayed at the amtrak station for the next 3 hours. i befriended a girl who had missed the train too. she had the most SHITTIEST boyfriend i have ever seen in real life (he kept blowing up at her for missing the train and causing him to wait with her for 3 hours).

me: “oh are you guys siblings? friends?”

girl: “oh no he’s my boyfriend”

fucking loser of a boyfriend: “but i’m thinking about reconsidering that! >:(“

me: “oh no don’t say that! that’s mean! :0″

fucking loser of a boyfriend: “( ಠ_ಠ)”

me: “(O.O)( ；ﾟДﾟ) oh but don’t mind me! i’m just a stranger, so…. *looks away*”

so eventually i minded my own business and started watching a movie on my laptop. the girl joined me eventually, and when my laptop was starting to run low on battery, i went looking for a plug. her boyfriend was using not one, but both, plugs – one for his laptop and his external hard drive.

i feigned ignorance and coyly asked, “oh are you using both of them?”

fucking loser of a boyfriend: “yea”

hellloooo, sir. your girlfriend and i are both watching a movie on my laptop. the least you can do is let me charge it up a little while your completely charged laptop runs. don’t be such a douche bag!

eventually i had to stop the movie and charge my laptop while standing up and balancing my laptop on a rail and in the middle of the amtrak line formation just because that was the only other outlet i could find.

the amtrak ride itself… was crowded. the first empty seat i found, i decided to be polite and ask the girl if it was alright for me to sit here. her response, “no it’s taken for someone on the next stop.”

i hate how, moments later, the conductor on the PA goes, “ok guys this is the busiest time of the year. you buy a ticket and it’s only for ONE person. there is NO reserving seats, alright? it’s illegal and out of line considering we  have people sitting on the floor here!” i found an empty seat diagonal to the one i should have gotten (and i say “should have” because it’s true).

the ride was long and tedious. i was able to finish my movie

200 LB. BEAUTY – [Korean] good but i skipped some parts as i deemed them kind of boring and lagging… the actress / character cried waaaay too much. focused on superficiality and the topic of plastic surgery (her surgery was impossible on more levels than just a safety hazard, impossible time interval, and realistic potential). fun and light-hearted (to some extent).

i was then going to start on another Korean movie – one that i’ve heard rave reviews about – Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance. i shedded a tear after only 12 minutes in! i would’ve kept on with it too, except there was a scene with a whole bunch of boys masturbating and then i skipped to another scene… turns out it is sexual too. the guy diagonally behind could and WAS see(ing) what i was watching. creepy as hell, as it is. i deemed that SFMV was not amtrak-safe, so i turned off my laptop and just watched the scenery with ipod blasting. it was nice. i feel asleep eventually too. woke up to drool and a sore neck.

แล้วเราก็จากคุณตามาโดยที่คุณตาก็รอโบกรถคันอื่นต่อไป…คราวนี้รถไปได้ไกลกว่าเดิมมาก…ดูจากไมล์กิโลฯแล้ว…เกือบสิบกิโลฯได้…ดีใจมาก…มาจอดอีกทีตรงสะพานที่มีนักท่องเที่ยวบางกลุ่มเล่นน้ำตกกันอยู่…มีรถจอดประมาณสี่ห้าคัน…คราวนี้ฮีตเตอร์ไม่มีวี่แววว่าจะลดลงเลย…เจ๊ปุ้ย…คุณทอม…คุณอาร์ม…ไปซื้อน้ำที่เค้าขายมาเติมอีกรอบ…ฉันทำหน้าที่ลำบากหนักหนา…นั่งเฝ้ารถ…พอทั้งสามคนกลับมา…ฮีตเตอร์ยังรักษาระดับความร้อนไว้สูงดังเดิม…ไม่มีอะไรจะทำกัน…คุณทอมก็เลยฆ่าเวลาโดยการไปถ่ายรูปผีเสื้อเล่น…ยังมีเวลาจะมาชื่นชมธรรมดาชาติอีกนะ…คืนนี้จะได้กลับไปนอนเตียงรึเปล่ายังไม่รู้เลย เจ๊ปุ้ย…”อุ้ย…ต้นงิ้ว…ต้นงิ้วจริงๆด้วย…อาร์มปีนสิ” คุณอาร์ม…”ผมยังไม่ได้ทำอะไรเลย…แค่ช่วยตัวเองมันผิดเหรอครับ” ฉัน…”กึก…” ไม่ผิดหรอกนะคุณอาร์ม…แต่ไม่ต้องบอกก็ได้ว่าคุณช่วยตัวเอง มองนาฬิกาข้อมือ…บอกเวลาเกือบหกโมงเย็นแล้ว…ยังไม่มีวี่แววว่าจะถึงปากทางเลย…พี่คนขายของแถวนั้นบอกว่าอีกประมาณสิบกิโลฯจะถึงปากทาง…พวกเราก็หวังว่าหลังจากการเติมน้ำครั้งนี้แล้ว…น่าจะขับไปจนถึงปากทางได้นะ…เวลามันเดินเร็วมาก…ความมืดเริ่มคลืบคลานเข้ามาแล้ว…พวกเราก็ฮัมเพลงรออยู่ที่ข้างๆรถ…จะรอดไม่รอดไม่รู้…จะได้กลับบ้านรึเปล่าไม่มั่นใจ…โทรหาพ่อกับแม่ก็ไม่ได้…มีหวังโดนเทศน์ยาว…เจ๊ปุ้ยกับคุณอาร์มยังมีความสุขมาฟ้อนน้อยใจยาเล่นกัน…และอีกสารพัดเพลงเก่าแบบฉบับเพลงคำเมืองจะสรรหามาร้องกัน…คิดมากจนสมองมีปัญหากันไปหมดแล้ว หลังจากรอจนฮีตเตอร์เริ่มลดระดับลงมาเพราะว่าอากาศเริ่มเย็นมากแล้ว…พวกเราก็กลับขึ้นมาบนรถอีกครั้ง…สมาธิและสติเป็นสิ่งที่เจ๊ปุ้ยต้องมีมากที่สุด…คราวนี้…รถแล่นมาด้วยความเร็วที่เร็วกว่ายี่สิบกิโลเมตรต่อชั่วโมงเป็นสามสิบกิโลฯแทน…ฮีตเตอร์เริ่มสูงอีกแล้ว…ใครก็ได้ฉุดมันลงที…ผ่านพ้นด่านตรวจมาแล้วด้วยความดีใจ…ร้องเพลงกราวกีฬากันเล่นเลยทีเดียว…ดีใจประมาณว่าไปขึ้นชกป้องกันตำแหน่งได้เหรียญทองโอลิมปิคกันเลยทีเดียว…รอยยิ้มเริ่มปรากฏ…จากจุดนี้ก็ไม่น่าจะไกลเท่าไหร่…และแล้วก็มากถึงปากทางจนได้…เย้!!! กึก…กึก…ฉึก…ดับบบบบบบบบบบบบ ไปไม่รอดแล้ว…สตาร์ทยังไงก็ไม่ติด…เจ๊ปุ้ยก็หยิบโทรศัพท์มากดหาเพื่อนหาฝูงอีกเป็นรอบที่เท่าไหร่ของวันก็ไม่รู้แล้วคราวนี้…โทรไปถามว่าควรทำยังไงมาตั้งแต่รถเริ่มเสีย…จนตอนนี้มันคงเสียจริงๆแล้ว…พวกเราจอดที่ตรงปากทางจอมทอง…พระอาทิตย์ลาลับขอบฟ้าไปแล้ว…เหลือแต่น้องหมาสองตัวที่คอยเห่าพวกที่บุกรุกเข้ามา…นั่นก็คือพวกเรา ยืนรอที่นี่นานมาก…แต่คุณอาร์มหายไปไหนไม่รู้…สงสัยไปโทรศัพท์หาแฟน…ยังจะมีอารมณ์อยู่อีกนะ…เวลาผ่านไปนานพอตัว…มีมอเตอร์ไซค์คันหนึ่งวิ่งมา…ชายฉกรรค์สามคน…แต่คนกลางพวกเรารู้จักกันดี…คุณอาร์มนั่นเอง…ไม่อยากจะเชื่อว่าคุณอาร์มวิ่งไปตามหาร้านซ่อมรถแล้วก็เรียกให้พวกเขามาดูรถให้…โอ๊ย…ทั้งฉัน…คุณทอม…เจ๊ปุ้ย…บอกหน้ากันแบบ…อะไรกันนี่?? พอช่างมาถึงจัดการเทน้ำราดหม้อน้ำให้มันเย็น…ทำนั่นทำนี่…แล้วก็บอกว่า…ต้องลากไปแล้วหล่ะ…ถ้าขืนจะดื้อขับต่อไปคงไม่ใช่แค่หม้อน้ำที่ต้องเปลี่ยน…แต่เจ๊ปุ้ยคงได้เปลี่ยนรถและเปลี่ยนเพื่อนร่วมทางเป็นแน่…พอสอบถามราคาในการลากรถไปกับการเอาเข้าอู่ช่างเลย…ก็ตาโตกับราคาค่าซ่อม…เฉียดๆห้าพัน…เจ๊ได้ลดความอ้วนก็งานนี้แน่ๆ เจ๊ปุ้ยตัดสินใจ…ซ่อมก็ซ่อม…พวกเราจึงขนเอาสัมภาระของใครของมัน…กลับมาเป็นบ้าหอบฝางกันอีกครั้ง…เดินไปโบกรถพร้อมของพะรุงพะรัง…คิดอย่างเดียว…กลับเข้าเมืองได้กรูจะไปกินHot Pot…ไม่นานรถโดยสารจอมทอง-เชียงใหม่ก็ผ่านมา…เรียกว่ารถเที่ยวสุดท้ายเลยนะ…กระโจนขึ้นกันเลยทีเดียวงานนี้…หาที่นั่งได้เรียบร้อย…ก็รู้แล้วว่า…ได้กลับไปนอนเตียงสมใจแน่ๆ…แต่ละคนเริ่มนึกถึงหม้อสุกี้ร้อน…ลูกชิ้นกุ้ง…ปลาแซลมอน…ปลาไหล…และอื่นๆอีกมากมายที่จะสรรหามากินกัน…ระยะทางไกลมากกว่าจะเข้าถึงตัวเมือง…เล่นเอาฉันหลับไปได้ตื่นหนึ่งเลยทีเดียว คุณอาร์มกับคุณทอมลงรถไปก่อนเพราะว่าให้น้องคุณอาร์มเอารถมารับและต่อไปส่งคุณทอมเอาสุชาติที่คอนโดฯเจ๊ปุ้ย…ส่วนฉันกับเจ๊ก็ยังอยู่บนรถเพื่อไปลงที่ในตัวเมือง…ถึงตัวเมืองด้วยความยินดี…มาขึ้นรถอีกต่อหนึ่งไปลงที่ห้าง…เพื่อมุ่งหน้าไปจุดหมายปลายทาง…”กะทะร้อน”…ระหว่างอยู่บนรถแดงก็เจอผู้หญิงกลุ่มหนึ่ง…แต่งตัวประมาณล่อเสือล่อจรเข้…ทำตัวเป็นคุณหนูไฮโซนั่งรถแดง…แต่คำพูดและท่าทาง…สลัมชัดๆ…สวยตายหล่ะเมิง…อีเตี้ย!! ฉันกับเจ๊ปุ้ยมาถึงที่ร้านก่อน…มุ่งตรงไปเลย…ตักๆๆ…ยัดๆๆ…กินๆๆ…แบบว่าอิ่มมาก…คุณอาร์มตามมาถึงก่อน…และตามด้วยคุณทอม…นั่งกินจนแบบว่ากินกันตายกันเลยทีเดียว…”คิดถึงเวลาติดป่าไม่มีอะไรจะกินนะ”…เจ๊ปุ้ยเอ่ยขึ้นแล้วก็จัดการยัดสเต็กเข้าปากไป…ไม่รู้ว่าปลอบใจตัวเองหรือว่ารับรู้ว่าต่อจากนี้เจ๊จะต้องกินแต่มาม่ากันแน่ เหตุการณ์ต่างๆที่เกิดขึ้นเป็นสีสันของวันที่พวกเราจะไม่มีวันลืมเด็ดขาด…จะรักกันไปอีกนานเลยงานนี้…ทุกคนยอมรับในความบ้าบิ่นของคุณอาร์มที่วิ่งไปหาร้านซ่อมรถโดยที่ไม่รู้ว่าจะเจอไหม?? หลังจากกินอิ่ม…ฉัน…คุณทอม…เจ๊ปุ้ย…ไปต่อกันที่ Milk Zone ขอกินให้อ้วนกันไปเลยงานนี้…เข็มนาฬิกาชี้บอกเวลาห้าทุ่ม…คุณทอมขับสุชาติมาส่งเจ๊ปุ้ยที่คอนโดฯ…แล้วถึงกลับหอพักตัวเอง…ฉันที่จอดรถไว้ที่หอคุณทอมก็ติดรถกลับมา….มาถึงหอปุ๊บ…ท่านแม่ก็โทรมาอีกแล้ว…ฉันจึงรีบเก็บของและสตาร์ทรถกลับบ้าน….แทบอยากจะกรี๊ด…น้ำมันรถจะหมดค่ะ…โชคดีที่ปั้มยังเปิดอยู่….แต่โชคร้ายอีกอันของฉันคือ…ไฟหน้ารถเจ้ากรรมดันไม่ติด…ทำยังไงก็ไฟหน้าก็ไม่ออก…ระยะทางอีกเกือบยี่สิบกิโลฯที่ฉันขี่รถกลับบ้านแบบมืดๆ…ไม่ต้องตอกย้ำได้ไหมค่ะว่าวันนี้ชีวิตมืดมน…แต่นี้ก็น้ำตาตกในจะแย่อยู่แล้ว…กลับมาถึงบ้านได้อย่างปลอดภัย…แต่ไม่มีใครอยู่บ้าน…ที่บ้านเค้าไปลำพูนกันหมด…ถูกทิ้งอีกแล้ว!! และแล้วฉันก็หลับไปทั้งๆที่ยังไม่ได้อาบน้ำ…สามารถจริงๆ…ตื่นเช้ามาแทบจะเอียนตัวเอง…รีบเข้าห้องน้ำอาบน้ำทันทีเลย…กลับมานั่งคิดนั่งเขียนเรื่องราวที่เกิดขึ้น…ขอบคุณนะค่ะ…ที่เช้านี้ตื่นมาบนที่นอนตัวเองพร้อมกับลมหายใจและรอยยิ้ม…!!

คุณเคยคิดว่า…”ทำไมวันนี้ฉันซวยอย่างนี้?” หรือ “ทำไมสวรรค์ถึงกลั่นแกล้งฉัน?” บ้างไหม??? ถ้าเคย…ลองมาดูกันไหมว่าใครซวยกว่ากัน??? วันเสาร์ที่สองของเดือนมกราคม…วันเด็กแห่งชาติ…12 มกราคม 2551 กับความซวยเกินห้ามใจ…เรื่องราวมันเริ่มตรงที่ฉัน…เจ๊ปุ้ย…คุณทอม…และคุณอาร์ม…พวกเราสี่คนนัดกันไปขึ้นดอยอินฯ ยอดดอยที่สูงที่สุดในประเทศ คืนก่อนวันเดินทาง…ฉันไปนอนที่หอของคุณทอม…พอตอนใกล้สว่าง…เอาจนได้ค่ะ…หอที่ฉันไม่เคยไปนอนเลย…แต่ภาพในความฝันมันชัดเจนมาก…เจอดีเข้าจนได้…แต่เรื่องนี้มันไม่ร้ายแรงเท่าเหตุการณ์ต่อๆมาที่เกิดขึ้น ฉันกับคุณทอมออกเดินทางจากหอพักมายังคอนโดฯของเจ๊ปุ้ยเวลาประมาณหกโมงครึ่งในตอนเช้า…อากาศไม่หนาวมากนัก…แต่พล็อบที่พวกเราเตรียมนี่ประหนึ่งการเดินทางไปยังสหรัฐอเมริกา…เสื้อแขนยาว…เสื้อโค๊ด…ถุงมือ…ถุงเท้า…ผ้าพันคอ…หมวกอุ่น…เอากันชนิดที่ลมหนาวไม่ได้สัมผัสผิวกันเลย ก่อนออกเดินทาง…เจ๊ปุ้ยก็ทำการตรวจเช็คสภาพรถโดยการโทรหาคุณป๋า…สอบถามถึงน้ำมันเบรค…ตรวจดูหม้อน้ำ…เสร็จแล้วพวกเราก็ออกเดินทางมารับคุณอาร์มระหว่างทาง ระยะทางจากในตัวเมืองจนถึงยอดดอยน่าจะประมาณหนึ่งร้อยกิโลเมตรได้นะ…ก่อนอื่นพวกเราก็เลยไปยังวัดพระธาตุจอมทองเพื่อไปไหว้ขอพรพระ…และพักทานข้าวเช้ากันที่นั่น…เสร็จแล้วก็เดินทางมุ่งหน้าไปยังยอดดอยกันเล๊ยยยยยยย…. งานนี้เจ๊ปุ้ยรับหน้าที่เป็นสารถีขับรถ…ขับไปร้องเพลงไป…ประสานเสียงกันไป…ผ่านไปเพลงแล้วเพลงเล่า…รอยยิ้มและความสนุกสนานที่พวกเราได้รับกันนั้น…ไม่นึกเลยว่าจะผ่านไปอย่างรวดเร็ว…ผ่านด่านตรวจที่หนึ่ง…เจ๊ปุ้ยก็ขับรถขึ้นดอยมาเรื่อยๆ…ระยะทางเกือบถึงครึ่งทางแล้ว…มาเจอกับจุดตรวจที่สอง…แต่แล้ว…รถก็เกิดดับ…สตาร์ทเท่าไหร่ก็ไม่ติด…โชคดีที่ตรงนั้นเป็นทางลาดนิดหนึ่ง…เราจึงอาศัยแรงดึงดูดให้รถเราค่อยๆเลื่อยไปจอดริมถนนได้ คุณทอมลงไปเปิดกระโปรงรถ…ทำเหมือนจะรู้นะว่าอะไรเป็นอะไร…ปรากฏว่า…ฝาปิดหม้อน้ำอันตธารหายไปไหนไม่รู้แล้ว…น้ำในหม้อน้ำแห้งสนิท…ควันลอยขึ้นมาเลย…พวกเรามองหน้ากันแบบว่า…”เฮ้ย…ฝาหาย!!” คำถามมากมายโผล่ขึ้นมาในสมองแต่ละคน…เอาไงดี…เอาไงดี…ในระหว่างที่พวกเรากำลังตื่นๆกันอยู่นั้น…คุณอาร์มก็มองไปยังซอกลืบหนึ่ง…”เจอแล้ว…นั่นไง” เสียงนี้ทำให้พวกเราเริ่มมีกำลังใจกันขึ้นมา…รถที่ผ่านไปมา…ก็จอดดูแล้วแนะนำพวกเราว่า…ต้องรอเครื่องมันเย็นก่อน…น่าจะประมาณสองชั่วโมง…ค่อยเติมน้ำได้…ถ้าไม่งั้นเครื่องมันร้อนจัดมาเจอน้ำเย็นอาจจะทำให้หม้อน้ำระเบิดได้ แต่คุณทอมแบบว่าใจร้อนมาก…เติมน้ำลงไป…ควันพุ่งขึ้นมาเลยค่ะ…ต่างคนต่างแตกกันไปคนละทิศละทาง…รอจนกว่าควันจะหายไป…นานมากที่พวกเราติดกันอยู่ตรงนั้น…เวลาผ่านไปอย่างที่ทรมานจิตใจมากที่สุด…พี่คนขับรถพานักท่องเที่ยวมาดูนกก็มาบอกว่าควรเติมน้ำแบบนี้นะ…แล้วก็ขับไปอย่างนี้…ใช้เกียร์อะไร…รอบเท่าไหร่…ทำเอาเจ๊ปุ้ยแบบว่าขาดความมั่นใจในการขับขึ้นเลย…คุณทอมก็แบบว่ายุเจ๊ให้ขับขึ้นไปเลย…กล้าๆหน่อย…ส่วนฉันก็แบบว่ากินยาแก้เมารถไปเม็ดหนึ่ง…ง่วงค่ะ…นอนอยู่ท้ายรถ…ไม่สนโลกอะไรกะเค้าเลย แต่แล้วความมั่นใจของเจ๊ปุ้ยที่หายไป…ไม่สามารถเรียกกลับคืนมาได้…พวกเราจึงเอารถไปจอดทิ้งไว้ข้างทาง…แล้วทำการโบกรถขึ้นไปแทน…แต่ละคนก็ขนสัมภาระทั้งแบกเป้…กล้องถ่ายรูป…ขาตั้งกล้อง…ขนม…และสารพัดจะขนออกจากรถมาเพื่อทำการอาศัยรถคนอื่นขึ้นดอย…รถผ่านไปคันแล้วคันเล่า…ไม่มีใครกล้าโบกค่ะ…อาย…บางคันก็มองมาที่พวกเราแต่ก็ไม่จอดรับ…จนในที่สุด…มีรถคันหนึ่งที่พวกเราตัดสินใจทิ้งความอายแล้วก็ใช้สายตาแกมบังคับให้เค้าจอด…แล้วพี่ท่านก็ใจดีมากเลย…จอดรับพวกเราขึ้นรถพามาที่ยอดดอยด้วย…((ป้ายแพร่นะค่ะ))แม้ว่าจะไม่รู้จักชื่อของคุณพี่ท่าน…แต่ก็ขอบคุณนะค่ะ ระหว่างทางที่ขึ้นมา…รถพี่ท่านก็เกิดดับขึ้นมาระหว่างทางงลาดขึ้นเขาพอดี…พวกเราสี่คนนั่งที่กะบะหลังก็มองหน้ากันเลิกลั่ก…”เอาอีกแล้วหรอเนี่ย??”…แต่แล้วก็ผ่านไปด้วยดี…ไม่มีอะไรเกิดขึ้นจนมาถึงที่ยอดดอยจนได้ แยกย้ายกันถ่ายรูปสมใจ…พวกเราก็ไปนั่งดื่มกาแฟกันที่จุดบริการนักท่องเที่ยว…พอกลับออกมา…รถพี่ท่านก็ไม่อยู่ซะแล้ว…ชะตากรรมพวกเราก็ต้องหาที่ฝากที่พึ่งพิงคันต่อไป…ยืนรอแบบว่าอนาจตัวเองเป็นที่สุด…จนมีรถคันหนึ่งแล่นมา…โบกอีกแล้วค่ะ…โบกไปลงที่พระธาตุ…((ป้ายลำพูนค่ะ))พอมาถึงที่พระธาตุเราก็เห็นรถคันแรกที่พวกเรานั่งมานั้นจอดอยู่ที่นี่…ทีแรกกะว่าจะอยู่รอที่รถเพื่อขอติดรถลงไปอีก…แต่แบบว่าจะน่าเกลียดไปไหม??…พวกเราเลยขึ้นไปถ่ายรูปที่บนพระธาตุแทน…เอาไงเอากัน…มาถึงนี่แล้ว…อย่างมากก็โบกคันที่สาม หลังจากที่ถ่ายรูปกันที่พระธาตุเส็จแล้ว…((ขอไม่พูดถึงความงามของสถานที่นะค่ะ…เพราะว่านี่ไม่ใช่สารคดีแนะนำสถานที่ท่องเที่ยว))พวกเราทั้งสี่คนก็เดินลงมาจากพระธาตุเพื่อทำการโบกรถอีกครั้ง…คุณอาร์มใจกล้าหน้าด้านมาก…รถมาติดๆกันแต่คุณอาร์มก็ยังโบก…แม้ว่าจะเป็นทางลาดลงแต่ก็มีรถคันหนึ่งจอดให้พวกเรา…แต่แบบว่าจอดไกลไปหน่อยไหม??…วิ่งไกลเลย…พอไปถึงที่รถ…เราก็เห็นว่าของท้ายรถเค้าเยอะมาก…กลัวว่าจะนั่งไม่ได้…แต่ในเมื่อพี่เค้าอุตส่าห์จอดให้แล้ว…ก็สนองความเมตตาของเค้าหน่อย…((คันนี้ป้ายภูเก็ตจ้า))นั่งแบบว่าทรมานสังขารกันมากมาย…ลืมไปว่าคนใต้ไม่ชินกับการขับรถขึ้น-ลงเขา…ใจเต้นตึกตักตลอดทางเลย…จนมาถึงที่ด่านตวรจที่สองที่พวกเราจอดรถทิ้งไว้… แต่เรื่องราวความซวยยังไม่จบเพียงเท่านี้…พวกเราขับรถมาเรื่อยๆ…ค่อยๆขับ…ค่อยๆลงเขามา… ผ่านทางลงเขาที่ทั้งคดเคี้ยวและลาดชัน…หนึ่งกิโลเมตรผ่าน…สองกิโลฯผ่านไป….เอี้ยดดดดดด….”โทษที…ปล่อยครัชเร็วไปหน่อย” เจ๊ปุ้ยหันมาขอโทษที่ทำพวกเราตกใจ…แม้กระทั่งคุณอาร์มที่นั่งหลับมาตลอดทางยังตื่น…แล้วเจ๊ก็ค่อยๆขับลงไปเรื่อยๆไม่เร็วมาก…เพราะว่ารถอยู่ในสภาพที่ไม่สมบูรณ์…หวังใจแค่ว่าต้องกลับบ้านให้ได้ “เฮ้ย…เบรคไม่อยู่!!” และแล้วเจ๊ปุ้ยก็ตะโกนขึ้นมาในรถ…ฉันกับคุณทอมตกใจมาก…แต่คุณอาร์มหลับ…ขาเจ๊ปุ้ยสั่นมากถึงมากที่สุด…ขาขวาสั่นแบบที่จับก็ไม่อยู่แล้ว…สั่นอยู่ขาเดียว…ขาเดียวจริงๆ…มือสองข้างกับขาซ้ายไม่สั่นเลย…เจ๊ปุ้ยพยายามดึงเบรคมือแต่มันไม่ค่อยอยู่…ตอนนั้นสิ่งศักดิ์สิทธิ์ที่ไหนมีจริงพวกเราก็ขอให้มาคุ้มครองให้หมด…กว่าจะพ้นทางลงเขาที่ลาดชันและคดเคี้ยวตรงจุดนั้นมาได้…เล่นเอาใจหายกันไปทั่วหน้า…พอจอดรถได้เสร็จ…ขาเจ๊ปุ้ยที่สั่นอยู่ข้างเดียวนั้นยิ่งเพิ่มความสั่นเข้าไปอีกเท่าตัว…พยายามจับก็แล้ว…ทำยังไงก็แล้วมันก็ยังไม่หยุดสั่น…เจ๊คงจะกลัวมากเพราะว่าเป็นคนพาพวกเรามาแล้วถ้าเกิดอะไรขึ้นเจ๊ก็คงรับผิดชอบชีวิตพวกเราไม่ได้แน่ๆ…พวกเราต่างคนต่างช่วยกันทำให้เจ๊ใจเย็นลง…เวลาผ่านไปนานมากกว่าแบตฯในขาเจ๊จะหมดและเพลาความสั่นลงไปมาก • catching a ride back north with my parents who happened to be arriving at the perfect moment

• Rooibus tea with sweetened condensed milk (which I have associated together ever since traveling with the Holsopples
• making yummy if odd meal out of Apple Curry Lentil Salad and leftover lasagna
• playing games with the family, while eating peanut butter popcorn
