El titulo ha sido esperado por muchos fanáticos de juegos aereos,  y más aún si tienen guerra de por medio. Recordando al ya fallecido Flight Simulator de Microsoft, que era lo mejor en simulación de aviones.

Saldrá con sus respectivas versiones para PC, XBOX 360 y PS3.

You take control of Captain Crenshaw, a former United States pilot whose squadron has been disbanded. On the look out for money and work Crenshaw turns to private military organisations and runs into a company called Artemis. Crenshaw decides to work for Artemis who in turn get contracted to protect Brazil. After a little bit of convoluted storyline Artemis then decide to attack the USA and Crenshaw refuses to comply. In little more than a few minutes Crenshaw is then again working for the USA trying to stop the attacks by Artemis over many famous USA states. Yes, it really is a lot of nonsense.

Today,March 18,2009, Steam has released the digital copy of the new military flying game, Hawx. Tom Clancy’s Hawx came out for consoles a few weeks ago, and now has made its way to the PC bringing stunning visuals and the privilege to be able to use a joystick. Hawx is set in 2012 and brings over 50 airplanes in its arsenal. The game has a great multi-player function allowing co-op in the campaign, and jump in/jump out player matches. If you are a aeronautics fanatic then you should really check Tom Clancy’s Hawx out. If you’re not sure about this game you can download the demo on Playsation Network, Xbox Live, and Steam.

Um grande lançamento de ação ambientada em combate aéreo, uma plataforma há muito tempo não utilizada de forma imergente tal como After Burner Para arcade em meados de 1990.

Para quem conhece as obras de Tom Clancy, deve conhecer a ótima sequência de Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter (ótimo e bastante difícil FPS) e Rainbow Six, que é em terceira pessoa mas igualmente inovador com seu bullet time e uso de grande estratégia.

Para os fãs de games e do trabalho de Tom Clancy, H.A.W.X. é o lançamento mais esperado do ano no quesito (mesmo porque não se fazem muitos jogos do tipo). Para quem gostou de Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter, o jogo dispõe de visáo em primeira pessoa. Para agradar os “Rainbow Sixers”, tambem possui em terceira pessoa. No jogo você está dentro da equipe de combate aéreo que auxilia os Ghosts, dentre eles o Sargento Mitchell que você mesmo interpreta em GRAW (ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter). É interessante pois ao longo do GRAw você aponta alvos aos combatentes aéreos e agora você está do outro lado do rádio, recebendo as informações para efetuar o ataque. Em suma, um jogo que promete, principamente no modo multiplayer, que suporta até 16 naves, se matando ou em cooperação. Gráficos convincentes e atmosfera que é ambientada em clima de constante tensão, que aumenta a imersão ao jogo. Imperdível para os amantes de FPS, os equecidos fãs de jogos de combate aéreo e os que gostam da imersão cinematográfica de Call of duty. Tirem suas conclusões com os vídeos da abertura e Gameplay inicial que fiz, prometo postar mais vídeos em breve.

Let me first start this off by saying that I am not a huge fan of flying sim games nor have I played a flying sim game in months.(maybe years to be honest)

So to start this off I will say that i was pleasantly surprised in a good way with this game. A few months before it was due to release(March 6 2009) the demo came out on the Xbox Live Marketplace. After I had downloaded it and played the two Missions that were showcased I added it to directly to the top of my Gamefly Q and eagerly anticipated its release.

First things first if you absolutely HATE flight sim games do not even waste your time with this game but if you have even the slightest interest, its definitely worth it. HAWX take place in a near future 2012-2021 USA. You play as a HAWX pilot David Crenshaw for the USAF(United States Air Force) who’s group deactivates from their military branch and joins a PMC called Artemis.

Now the story in this game…….well its mediocre to say the least while running(or flying) from Brazil to Japan back to the US then to Europe and wherever else it gets a bit confusing who your actually still working for at times. The gameplay on the other hand is well above average for a flight sim, you really get the feeling of flying at mach 2 over the beautiful landscapes, evading missiles, and shooting down bogeys while still feeling totally in control of what you are doing. Yes there will be a slight learning curve for the controls and getting used to the feel of each plane since they are all different but every one gives you the unique experience of its capabilities and primary abilities. While flying over snow topped mountains in Brazil or slaloming between buildings in LA the HUD(heads up display) is quite clear, with the exception of not telling you when a incoming missile is headed your way which can be problematic at times. Along with the HUD your HAWX teammates and others will periodically pup-up to give you an update on your current mission status or just to give you a heads up, which for me was a bit annoying. Though the sheer amount of planes you are able to unlock is great and will never get bored of using the same one over and over you may just have to play it for quite some time to get most of them.

My first problem with your teammates communicating with you was everybody YELLING. For some odd reason I always felt like someone was yelling at me as if I had done something wrong, yes I understand this is a war game but even when your just flying you’re still being yelled at. (And why does it seem like everybody in this game was named Dragon?) My second problem was for some reason these people do not understand the concept of taking turns in talking to you, everybody wanted to force their way onto your screen to give you a important message at one time either telling there is a missile locked on or the president wanted to speak with you for no apparent reason. My third small issue was the ERS Mode(Enhanced Reality System) when you went into it there was no way of turning it off when you wanted to turn out of it it would yank and pull you back into it like a bad girlfriend keeping you on a very short leash, at times it was a really cool feature but the feeling of being forced to use it sometimes made me cringe.

While the gameplay alone makes up for the just “ok” story and mass spam from your teammates the real heart of this game lies in its beautiful graphics and multiplayer. The Co-op campaign is a blast, being able to team up with up to four of your buddies and fly around was flawless, never did I get lag or get the feeling of it being too easy as the game adjusts to the amount of people in your party which was great.

But other than co-op, the PvP style team deathmatch was just awesome(besides the fact of there only being one game mode which was TDM). I have not yet seen a air combat game that threw you right into the action and made it a test of abilities and not just who has the better plane. Sure it would have been nice to see bigger match sizes(as of now you can only do 4v4) and more selectable modes which I’m sure will come eventually but any way you look at it I was still happy with the final result of it. 

All in all HAWX is a visually pleasing game with it’s multiplayer being the main draw, while the story and single player campaign is tolerable it is not likely I will go through and play it again. It is another good Clancy release and you should definitely at least give it a rent.

Foi disponibilizada a demo do jogo Tom Clancy’s HAWX, na qual o jogador pilota as mais diversas aeronaves a serviço de uma companhias militares privadas. As aeronaves pilotáveis incluem F-22, F-16, Eurofighter, Rafale, Gripen, Harrier II, F-14, F-15, F-117 e Jaguar.

A demo tem 1.24 GB e inclui a missão que se passa na cidade do Rio de Janeiro com direito e Cristo redentor e Maracanã.

Tomorrow, three pretty big games are being released:

• Empire: Total War (PC)
• Halo Wars (360)
• Tom Clancy’s HAWX (360/PS3)

I won’t be picking up any of these at the moment because The Stack is just too overwhelming, but I’ve heard that Empire: TW is amazing and hope to play it at some point.

I played the demo for HAWX and was not impressed. The third person camera was very ackward and it did not feel right. I will admit the game is very pretty but I suggest you give the demo a try before you buy.

I also took Halo Wars out for a spin and while it was fun I still feel that RTS just doesn’t work on console. This was the closest anyone has come yet to making it a completely enjoyable experience for me. I’m convinced that if Ensemble can’t make an RTS work on a console then no one can, so developers should quit trying from here on out.

Tom Clancy’s HAWX es la llegada de una nueva franquicia a las filas de los juegos de Tom Clancy. Un juego que luce muy bien en el apartado visual, pero que hasta no tenerlo en las manos y jugarlo, no podemos opinar. Este titulo de combate aereo viene a competir con la serie ACE COMBAT, y por su bien espero que tenga un excelente gameplay. Por si no lo recordaban el lanzamiento de este titulo es la proxima semana para el PS3, PC y XBOX360 . . . para el Nintendo Wii seguimos sin tener fecha. Vean los videos.
