NEW KELIS!!! “Acapella” – Kelis is always opening herself up, musiclaly, to all things. She tries new beats, new chords, new visuals … it’s like a surprise party everytime another single of hers drops.

Keri Hilson – “I Like” – Besides the fact that Keri Hilson is absolutely GORGEOUS, she can sing, too. This song is a different sound for her in that it’s definitely more dance/pop compared to what we’ve been hearing from her, but you know what?  It works.

Toni Braxton feat. Trey Songz – “So Yesterday” – I’m on the fence about this one still … maybe it’s one of those that needs to grow on me. I dunno, but I’m posting it anyway because it’s new music by Miss Braxton.

Rihanna feat. Justin Timberlake – “Hole In My Head” – Good track. On a side note: JT is sounding more and more like Timbaland everytime he shows voice these days. Rihanna is totally reminiscent of Nelly Furtado in this one, too. That’s all I wanted to point out. I’m not NOT gonna stop dancing to this one, though.

50 Cent feat. Ne-Yo – “Baby By Me” – oooooooooh Fitty! You so crayzaaaaay!

Dondria – “You’re The One” – If Rihanna’s vocal chords made love to Keri Hilson’s, Dondria’s is what they would sound like.

Janet Jackson – “Make Me” – Janet’s using what her brother taught her and’s totally bringin’ it again.  The thing I love about this song is the old school kick!

Rihanna feat. Youg Jeezy – “Hard” – I like this song. I think it’s good and I think Rihanna’s coming out of her “shell” (the emo one) nicely. Some would say slutty, I say … ballsey. She’s trying to make up for her past-self these days … I’m still on the fence about how I feel about her … musically, though, I think she’s well on her new way.

Lloyd feat. J. Holiday and Nikki Minaj – “Take It Off” – Pretty much everything Lloyd has done, I’ve sincerely liked. My favs? “Southside” with Ashanti and “I Want You” (True Remix) feat. Nas and Andre 3000 … but here’s his newest:

Shakira feat. Lil Wayne – “Give It Up To Me” – I’m not a Weezy fan by any means what-so-ever … I AM, however, a big Shakira fan. In a nutshell, this song is HOT.

Robin Thicke – “Sex Therapy” – Ok, Robin Thicke is goooooooood, man. When he first showed face on the music scene and his identity became known, I almost shit my pants. I mean, Alan Thicke’s son? REALLY?! But, the dude can sing and he’s got soul … and it’s good.

Beyonce feat. Lady Gaga – “Videophone” – I. Love. This. Song.

J-Lo “Louboutins” – I’ll tell you why I’m TOTALLY feelin’ this song. The Dream produced it. It’s smooth and not your usual-choppy-J-Lo-flatness that we’re used to with J-Lo. I love J-Lo, don’t get me wrong, but let’s all be honest and face the music: she ain’t a musical artist. BUT, with the right producer, anyone can be an artist. This is like the best and worst thing ever.

New Boyz feat. Ray J. – “Tie Me Down” – aight aight aight … I like this one! I don’t cuuuure what you say … you know you’re gonna groove to it, too.

Wow, not only did Rihanna represent in the wardrobe department, but everydamnbody looked hella FAB!

This attention grabbing spell Rihanna is on is becoming a bit too Britney-esque for comfort. She really is too talented an artist to succumb to the naked shot PR routine quite yet. Leave that to Britney, Madonna, and Toni Braxton. But she’s certainly not too talented for these becoming photos to be uploaded on ZIF. Chauvinism for President in 2012! Hey, why not?

I didn’t even watch the American Music Awards, and from what I hear, I didn’t miss anything.

Tonight the 2009 AMA’s (American Music Awards) aired on ABC. I didn’t actually watch the show but from what I’m hearing it was an awful show just like all the other award shows this year. One of the big highlights was Taylor Swift beating out Michael Jackson for artist of the year… HMMM? …. Taylor racked in 5 AMA’s altogether… Other winners was Jay-Z with 2, Black Eyed Peas with 2, Green Day (Favorite Alternative Artist) & Rascall Flatts (Favorite Country Group). OOO how could I forgot about J Lo’s lil fall ha! Video recap below…

Earlier this month, I’d heard that Toni Braxton (my alleged twin lol) and Trey Songz (Yuuup!) recorded a song together; it’s called Yesterday. I love Toni and I’m glad she’s back. I got a rare treat, too. My future husband, Shannon Brown of the Lakers, is in it. Ron Artest was also an ultra random edition to the video. Toni looks amazing (but when does she never?). Enjoy.

Why, hello, Toni Braxton! Making an awesome comeback with Trey Songz helping her by her side. I love it! She’s all the way up in her 40’s and she looks absolutely amazing! Ron Artest, Shannon Brown and Brooke Hogan make a cameo in this music video of ‘So Yesterday.’ I have to say, I’m totally in love with this song!

My high school wifey is back on track and has a new video.  Mmmmm girl still looks good like cook food.  As Toni usual does she sings the sorrow into the track to bring that true R&B sound out of the lyrics.  Toni Braxton – So Yesterday ft. Trey Songz

No podemos evitarlo, tenemos debilidad por Toni Braxton. No solo por ser el primer transexual en conseguir ser #1 en USA, sino porque es la única diva que queda con verdadero soul. Secrets es un discazo de principio a fin, y aún seguimos quemando hits de ayer, hoy y siempre como Breathe again, Another sad love song o He wasn’t man enough. Además, Toni es la intérprete de LA power ballad definitiva: Un-break my heart. Drama, cuerdas, exceso, muerte, chulazo, ducha… lo tiene absolutamente todo.

Por eso cuesta creer que le haya ido tan mal, Kiss FM aparte, encadenando fracasos, divorcios, bancarrotas y quimioterapias. Está claro que Whitney alguien ha debido echarle mal de ojo. Yesterday (que ya comentamos en su momento) es su single-comeback, y por si acaso la gente pasa de ella, se ha colgado de un chulazo 20 años menor: Trey Songz.

Trey tiene una buena voz y un polvazo potencial enorme, pero es super cutre que Toni tenga que ir de MQMF para captar nuevos fans. Su target son los yuppies afroamericanos de mediana edad, que además siguen comprando cds y no saben quién es Rihanna. Claro que Toni sabe lo que es no poder llegar a fin de mes y que no te contraten ni para cantar Un-break my heart en banquetes de bodas, así que respetamos que quiera vender más de 1000 discos.

No sabemos si este video lo conseguirá, pero mira, es elegantón y ella no puede estar más buena. Menos da una piedra. Además hay dos hombres sin camiseta, y ya era hora de que las divas utilizaran un poco a los hombres, en vez de desnudarse ellas (que también). El primer shock llega cuando Toni aparece tocando el piano. ¿Toni sabe tocar el piano? Eso demuestra tener mucha clase, al no habérnoslo restregado en todos sus videos como hace Alicia Keys. Claro que mientras ella toca lo que suena es UNA GUITARRA. Otra posibilidad es que le estuviera limpiando el polvo, rollo “te grabamos un videoclip si luego le das un repaso al set”. Lo maravilloso es que en la canción no hay piano, aparte de una nota en cada compás del pre-estribillo. Pero ella está loca de contenta con las teclas y no seremos nosotros quien le arruine el día.

A continuación hay un plano de ella tumbada a la bartola encima de una mesa de PVC, super casual. Pero cuidado, Toni, las patas son muy frágiles y no entienden de dramas. Claro que para drama el de la historia: Trey está engañando a Toni CON UNA BLANCA que se parece mogollón a Brooke Hogan (tenemos referentes culturales exquisitos), y la lerda cuando les pilla en vez de tirar una piedra contra el cristal como habría hecho Queen Latifah pone cara de “uy, perdón, yo buscaba la biblioteca, ya me voy” (0:32). Así no se puede, Toni, con razón te engaña con Brooke.

Lo bueno es que el video tiene mogollón de glamour, mucho ventilador y Toni tiene una habitación super bonita. Así que en ese contexto la tristeza siempre se lleva mejor. Además está increíblemente buena, como bien sabe el maromo (presumiblemente el padre de Trey) que va a visitarla en cuantito que Trey recoge sus cosas. Eso significa que Toni sigue la tendencia Sasha: si os fijáis siempre que le echa la bronca a un tío por serle infiel ella también lo estaba haciendo antes, la muy incoherente.

Esa actitud está muy bien, Toni. A los 40 años una ya no puede permitirse perder el tiempo y Trey no te convenía: mientras tus tacones (los verdaderos protagonistas del video) no pueden ser más fabulosos, él lleva unas zapatillas de Pull & Bear de las de meterse calcetines dentro. Era una relación condenada al fracaso.

Fracaso como el que quizá Toni se tope cuando Pulse salga a la venta en febrero. Pero siempre nos quedará la posibilidad de escuchar You’re makin’ me high y contonearnos para celebrar que hubo un tiempo en el que ser una zorra podía ser de lo más elegante.

Toni Braxton makes her return to music after a 5-year hiatus with “Yesterday” featuring Trey Songz.

The pair sparked rumours that they were dating after Toni announced she was separating from her husband in the same week she was pictured kissing Trey at an awards ceremony.

To clear up these rumours, Toni appeared on the Wendy Williams Show and stated they had a platonic relationship and that their pet names for each other are “Demi” & Ashton”. (Click Here to watch)
