I write quite a few posts for my blog.  I really do.  I just don’t publish them.  That makes me mad.  There is so much going on, and I’m thinking about so many different things.   And, I just love the feedback that I get.   It’s even fun without the feedback because so many people will come to the site.

Sometimes I don’t publish my posts because I’ve written about things too personal or too self-critical.  Other times, I just can’t get the posts to the point where I’m satisfied with them.  Still, I should just click “publish” and let it go, eh?!

Maybe things will change soon.  Maybe I’ll just go back to some of the drafts, edit a little, and click that silly “publish” button!

i’ve just finished 3 thank you notes to those who made my time out there even BETTER.  clearly i will take any excuse to pull out my trusty prismacolor markers <at least 5 years old – shows how much i don’t use the ink > updates on SF trends and more to come . . .

Living in this ‘tell all’ generation where we talk about anything, everything and maybe it’s just me but there’s nothing I haven’t talked about. But after reading my beloved Miley Cyrus’ tweet “Just let one stanky thing looooosee!!!” and “Ewwwww vegan poopy nasstyy.” I got curious… Is it too personal? Where’s the line? Can we really talk about our bowel movements on twitter? I don’t mind reading them, I don’t take twitter too seriously, I just laugh and get on with my life. Well that’s until someone starts talking about wet patches and menstrual flow… in that case ‘unfollow’ is the ‘key’.

Last week I tweeted quite a bit about my cold sore and not wanting to shave my legs in winter and both got several ”@s’ saying “ew, we didn’t need to know that” But is it just ‘accepted’ now? I mean I tweet all the time and about EVERYTHING. The good, the bad and yes the ugly. I don’t like to just talk about the ‘good things in life’ and what I’m doing today; I “bag the shit out of people on TV’, talk about walking into things, failed lunches and other yucky things.  And some people like that, I do have 300+ follower (and I love you all) who @me (positively) all the time.

What do you think (tweeties and non tweeties)? Should we keep personal things personal? Or are we all itchy to know about that blister on my foot? Or maybe you know want to know about ’some’ personal things? I mean, I draw the line at blisters and cold sores… or at least for now.

this year’s renegade craft fair was my first as a vendor as well as renegade’s first fair of the season <LA-SF-CHI to follow>.  mama nature was particularly kind because it was torrential friday + sunday evenings – yet somehow, both saturday and sunday were absolutely beautiful! so much so that i managed to burn the backs of my knees to a crisp, i swear ma – i wore 45spf

caught in action!  as is pretty apparent, i was manning p*Charming whilst amazing friends looked over prismPOP.  in case you were lost / overwhelmed (300 vendors this year) p*Charming shared a booth with ikyoto + Look Closely Press; prismPOP with Caja Jewelry all of whom i met through my proud participation in the etsy street team: the {NewNew}; which I must tell you is an incredibly nurturing group of artisans + crafters.  i had fantastic neighbors!

all in all, renegade was a beautiful outdoor weekend full of delicious food (thanks in large part to a pretzel croissant from my old neighborhood bakery pal) super company & fun.  i am so looking forward to heading to cali next month to do it again in SF and LA!  please do introduce yourself as i am an easterner + would love some company.

i am really into the beautiful cartography of the alluvial valley of the lower mississippi river featured on radical cartography.  more images are available on the site as well as 15 maps in order.  evokes the ian hundley quilts i mentioned late last year – to me, at least.

friday went to the smithsonian craft show, which was smaller than i had anticipated.  couldn’t tell who the intended audience was because the assortment was so varied, but my favorites included iron design company, deborah faye adler + andrea janosik – the latter of two hail from brooklyn.  yeps, traveled four hours – 8 total to come home with a fort green necklace (adler’s):

Vreau sa va spun de ce mi-a placut atat de mult “Impreuna” a Annei Gavalda, cum m-a dezamagit Claire Castillon, cat de tare m-a amuzat intamplarea cu tipul cu flori de plastic, ce-am facut in week-end-ul de sfarsit de fabruarie in care am fost in Austria si de ce o merg in Aula Magna in fiecare saptamana de acum incolo, cu toate ca nu sunt studenta la Universitatea de Vest.

Astazi am fost pentru prima oara la SdC.

• Ne-a placut sa vedem “live” persoane pe care le stiam din mediul online (Tomata, Ama, Rebecca, Oana, Vania), dar si sa-l revedem pe Dacian, fost membru BEST. Ioan Usca e plin de umor
• Ne-a placut atmosfera (eu m-am simtit stanjenita la inceput, dar apoi m-am relaxat; toti erau – sau cel putin pareau – degajati si prietenosi).
• Multe carti faine au fost prezentate: unele le citisem deja, vazusem ecranizarea altora, iar altele (de care auzisem doar lucruri bune) au fost luate de altii inainte. Pana la urma am plecat cu “Impreuna” a Annei Gavald (eu) si “In clipa mortii” a lui Jim Crace (Sorin). Data viitoare mi-ar placea sa pot lua “Raul” – Jan Guillou si “Imparatul mustelor” – William Golding.
• Nu ne-a placut ca muzica a fost cam tare, ceea ce facea destul de dificil sa auzim ce spuneau cei din partea opusa (am inteles ca nu e mereu asa).
• Concluzia: am fost, ne-a placut, o sa mai mergem

Am implinit 5 ani de relatie in noaptea dintre 14 si 15 februarie, asa ca am sarbatorit impreuna. Cum?

Sambata (14 feb.) am fost la teatru, la piesa “Trei surori” a lui A.P. Cehov. Cea mai lunga piesa de teatru la care am fost pana acum – aproape 3 ore. Este povestea unui ideal ce nu va fi atins niciodata. Surorile viseaza sa se mute la Moscova (cea mai mica, Irina, repeta obsesiv “La Mo000s-cooo-vaaaa!”), dar anii trec si ele nu mai pleaca, cu toate ca nimeni si nimic nu le impiedica sa faca asta.

Mi-a placut ca spectatorii erau pe scena si in jurul acesteia – practic, in sufrageria familiei Prozorov. Mie, cel putin, asta imi dadea senzatia ca sunt alaturi de personaje, intr-un orasel de provincie din Rusia secolului 19.

Singurul lucru care m-a deranjat oarecum a fost permanenta agitatie din “casa”, vanzoleala, tipetele surorilor. In rest, mi-a placut destul de mult. I-as da 7.3/10 daca ar fi un sistem de notare gen imdb.

Mi-ar placea sa pot vedea piesa pusa in scena si de alti regizori si cat de curand o sa citesc textul original al lui Cehov. Sorin la fel. In plus, lui i-au ramas in cap cateva replici de acolo si i-ar fi placut sa aiba la el un carnetel sa le noteze in timpul spectacolului

Dumnica (15 feb.) am citit (amandoi in paralel) “Fetita si tigara” a lui Benoît Duteurtre. Nu e o carte pro-fumat, cum unii par sa creada. E mai degraba anti-copii decat pro-fumat

Doua povesti paralele: un condamnat la moarte salvat de “ultima tigara” si un intelectual caruia nu-i plac copiii, condamnat pentru o tigara fumata pe ascuns, dupa marturia (partial falsa) unei fetite de 5 ani. In plus, apar niste teroristi care fac un reality-show (“Martyre Academy”) unde, din 6 participanti, doar unul supravietuieste la final. Toate astea intr-o lume (nebuna) in care copiii au drepturi exagerate si in care fumatul e total interzis.

Pe Sorin l-a infuriat, pe mine m-a emotionat. De placut, ne-a placut amandurora si o recomandam.

Pentru ca eu obisnuiesc sa caut imagini cu starea pe care o am in acel moment, – cum povesteam aici -  descoperirea celor 3 site-uri specializate in cautarea imaginilor in functie de un anumit cuvant mi-a produs o mare bucurie Nu m-am putut abtine sa nu o impart cu voi (bucuria, that is), asa ca:

Ce ma bucur ca in ultima luna, in ciuda faptului ca am avut un program foarte incarcat, am reusit sa citesc 4 carti!

Toamna lui 2002: Primul telefon mobil mi l-am cumparat singura in clasa a X-a. Era un un telefon de genul “caramida cu antena” (nu-mi mai amintesc firma, dar stiu sigur ca nu era Bosch), la mana a doua. Platisem pe el fabuloasa suma de 800.000 lei (imens!, tinand cont ca se gaseau – la preturi doar ceva mai mari – telefone simpatice de la Alcatel sau Motorola).

Imi amintesc il foloseam doar acasa – era aiurea sa umblu cu ditamai caramida in ghiozdan, nu?

Septembrie 2003: Primul abonament, primul telefon (cu adevarat) mobil.

Taica-meu isi cumparase in primavara un Siemens A50 care mi-a placut, asa ca in toamna mi-a facut si mie abonament la Connex (acelasi numar il folosesc si acum) si mi-a luat unul identic A fost un telefon rezistent, nu gluma! – si foarte bun. L-am schimbat la sfarsitul lui 2005 doar pentru ca ajunsesem sa folosesc un telefon cu ecran alb-negru cand pe toti ceilalti ii prinsese febra trimiterii de MMS si schimbului de imagini si ringtonuri prin blutooth. Merge si acum; il am prin dulap, pe undeva

Decembrie 2005: Primul telefon cu ecran color, luat pe puncte

Dupa cum ziceam, trecusera mai mult de 2 ani de cand “credinciosul” Siemens A50 imi statea alaturi, dar am decis sa iau ceva mai bun. Cum era oferta la Sony Ericsson T290i si parea ok, l-am cumparat (pe puncte).

Din nou, am dat peste un telefon mobil care isi facea foarte bine treaba: bateria rezista zile intregi, auzeam bine cand vorbeam cu cineva la telefon si puteam scrie repede sms-uri. Daca mai adaug ca ma trezea dimineata cu una dintre soneriile lui enervante si ca a rezistat exemplar repetatelor trantari pe jos, il putem considera un telefon exceptional

In ultima parte a vietii arata cam trist cu ecranul lui lipit cu aracet, dar rezista eroic. Am decis totusi sa merg mai departe si sa imi cumpar ceva mai bun. Inainte cu vreo 2 saptamani de a trece la urmatorul telefon, un “binevoitor” mi l-a furat pe dragul de Sony Ericsson.

Decembrie 2007: Telefonul actual

De atunci am un Nokia 6070 – luat pe puncte, la oferta. Avusese un defect la inceput: forma singur cifre cand vorbeam la telefon, chestie foarte deranjanta pentru cei cu care vorbeam. Era in garantie, asa ca l-am dus la reparat. De aunci, nu am nimic sa ii reprosez. Avand in considerare istoria, se pare ca o sa il schimb pe la sfarsitul anului…

Concluzie (oarecum amuzanta):

Looking back, imi dau seama ca telefonul cu cea mai mica utilitate a fost primul. Interesant ca el a costat cel mai mult dintre toate!…
