So yeah. I was just watching sex rehab with dr. drew, and i heard one of the girls talking about all the times shes been raped and molested and abused. It almost made me cry. I cant believe that someone would do that to someone else. It makes me feel so lucky that i have such a perfect life. I feel so bad for those girls. i wish i could help them. It make me realize that i have no right to complain about anything. Especially not my boyfriend. LIke zomg he never called me back. big fucking deal. At least when i say no, he listens. Some girls arent that lucky. And thats disgusting. People should be able to feel safe around eachother. Rape shouldnt even exist.
This whole thing makes me so angry, but i dont want this blog to be all about bad things. So i’ll talk about the good things that are happening too.
First of all, me and Jessey had our 6 months on december 1st. i baked him cookies and he got me a white gold chain for a charm that i had lying around. I felt so awful in comparison. I mean really. He got me gold, i gave him baked goods. So ridiculous. He said they were the best cookies ever though. So i suppose its okay. I’ve decided against getting him a CD fro christmas. Instead i’m making him a plushie of me. it’s going to be sitting and holding an envelope that actually opens. I’m gunna put a note in there but i dont know what to say yet. He’s also going to get cookies. He got me a shit load of stuff for christmas so i dont know what to do. i always feel bad cuz he loooves spending money on me. i know y’all think i’m lying and that i secretly love it, which i do, but it also makes me feel so guilty cuz i cant afford to get him stuff. I’m sorta poor. Yeeeah.
Soooooo. I got these awesome fake nails from my friend Airileah. I wanna make them last as long as possible so i dont know if i want to put them on right before christmas or right before i go back to school. I have 2 kits and they each have 24 nails. So i have about 4 sets, but the second set wont be the right sizes, so i would have to file them down, which would take a lot of work. I might just start buying nails all the time. or jacking them. but that always make me feel bad. So i dont think i will. But i asked my parents to get me fake nails for christmas too, so i may have 3 kits by the 25.
I’m thinking of using the ten bucks i have tyo find jessey something relatively present-like for christmas. Maybe i can get him a toque or something. omg. a toque would be perfect. he never wears one, and its getting colder. Toques FTW.
Now that thats settled. I should work on my plushies face. But i’m feeling lazy today. Prolly cuz its the first day of winter vacation. so yeeeah. Anyways. Ima go read manga now. Such an otaku. XD

Who said Crochet is just for ladies!? The “cross bones” hat is a gift for my cousin – made to fit extra slouchy. I crocheted the hat then the skull and cross bones applique – then I sewed it on. I think it’s bad ass.

Fazer um bolo de ameixa ou editar um video. Basta ter acesso à internet para chegar perto de uma habilidade desejada. Certamente as dicas dos internautas não farão de nós artífices exemplares, mas uma visada e nos tornamos, sem dúvida, pessoas mais capazes que aquelas de alguns minutos atrás.

Minha dúvida é a seguinte: exibir um curto video do Barcelona no Youtube, em uma preleção, fará dos jogadores de nossos times melhores passadores? Certamente não tocarão a bola como o time da Catalunha. Mas haveria, sequer, alguma melhora?

Contra a Inter de Milão, o Barcelona tocou a bola. Toques de primeira: Iniesta para Daniel Alves; Daniel Alves para Iniesta; Iniesta para Daniel Alves. Aparentemente, uma inútil troca de passes, em que a jogada não sai do lugar. Uma jogada inútil dessas – toque de primeira, rápido – não deve ter ocorrido uma vez sequer nesse campeonato brasileiro. Às vezes, arrisco que nenhum time do Brasil deu um passe como os do time do Barcelona. A velocidade e precisão de um toque, deixe ele um companheiro na cara do gol ou volte a bola de onde ela saiu, agora mesmo – são uma constante. Mas os jogadores não driblam, não seguram a bola? Influenciado pelo Tostão, digo que os Policarpo Quaresmas de agora esbravejariam: “— Eles tocam a bola porque não sabem driblar, não tem ginga suficiente para encantar e se refugiam no jogo pragmático”. Mas eles driblam. Houve um chapéu esteticamente apreciável e uma caneta que eu não via há algum tempo. Os dribles tornam-se mais fortes se acompanhados deste toque de bola. O adversário, acostumado com toques de primeira, com essa quantidade absurda de passes, pensa que no próximo lance haverá o toque, mas, de repente, o drible. Ou um passe não previsto. E o gol. Os gols vieram com a naturalidade que devolvemos a bola a um companheiro, de primeira. Claro, acompanhada da precisão que os jogadores do Barça devolvem uma bola de primeira.

Envolvida, a equipe da Inter, literalmente, assistiu ao Barcelona. Por isso, já adianto a resposta: não. A exibição de videos do time catalão não melhorará o toque de bola de uma equipe. A Inter de Milão assistiu, ao vivo, o tutorial e não conseguiu passar a bola daquele jeito. Digo mais: eles tentaram, tentaram imitar o adversário, como tentamos, involuntariamente, imitar os trejeitos de alguém admirado.

O toque do time italiano, de primeira, seco e rápido, subiu, pegou efeito imprevisto e saiu pela lateral.

A bad pun to start a good write-up? I sure hope so!

I’ve been needing to update my winter woolies for some time now and have taken action. I’ve decided that an elegant and understated cloche would be a good match with my winter coat. I switch back and forth between a wool peacoat and a parka so a casual cloche wouldn’t seem out of place with either. Anyway, I’ve taken to etsy with gusto and have come up with the following amazing hat choices- almost all of which are now on my Christmas list.

This gorgeous cream and forest green cloche can be found here. I particularly love the rope like texture of the band.

I love the casual elegance of this hat. I also happen to love the grey/red combo. This one is a heavy contender!

I’ve tried hats like it on before and they seem to work well with my face shape. The little wave in the fabric combined with the ribbon and button trim makes this a really sweet little number.

This stunning 1930’s style cloche is to die for, but it is far too formal for me. When I saw it I instantly though of Solanah over at Vixen Vintage. She could, would, and should pull this off and look great doing it.

All in all I think I’ve decided that I can’t decide and will leave the choosing up to my father. He is a very capable man in the clothing department.

It is a heavily modified version of a Knitty pattern called “Dead or Alive?” To best insure I did not end up with an angry designer or fan of that designer I have contacted her for permission for the one-time sale for this heavily modified version of her pattern. So if it is in the store and you want it – act fast because I do not intend to have another one up for sale.

Hoje pela manhã, a fabricante de sistemas de videogame Nintendo anunciou o modelo portátil DSi LL (isso mesmo, agora há dois "L", de "large, large"?). Trata-se de uma atualização do console portátil DSi, apresentando duas telas de 4,2 polegadas (contra 3,25 polegadas do modelo antigo).

Mais? Sim, também o tamanho da "caneta de toque" mudou. Agora ela tem 12,93 centímetros (contra 9,6 centímetros do modelo antigo). Preço? Cerca de 220 dólares.

O aparelho Nintendo DSiLL será lançado dia 21 de novembro, no Japão.

A Nintendo confirmou o lançamento mundial do aparelho. Oficialmente, nenhuma data foi informada via documento. Mas, de acordo com a agência EFE, um porta-voz da empresa falou que a previsão é que o modelo de videogame DSi LL chegue entre janeiro e março de 2010 na Europa. Acredita-se que o aparelho chegue à América (incluindo Brasil) no 1º trimestre de 2010.

Mas o fato é que agora, com a tela de 4,2 polegadas, o modelo DSi LL oferece um monitor com o mesmo tamanho do modelo adversário mais atual, o portátil PSP Go!, da Sony. Além disso, a tela atual do DSi LL oferece maior ângulo de visão, permitindo que várias pessoas possam enxergá-la de maneira confortável e simultaneamente.

O aparelho tem 16 centímetros de largura, 9 de altura e 2,12 de espessura.

Em condições normais, a bateria dura até 11 horas. Com o brilho máximo, esse tempo cai para 5 horas.

Internamente o modelo LL é idêntico ao DSi anterior, traz as mesmas funcionalidades e mantém a possibilidade de conexão via tecnologia Wi-Fi.

A Nintendo lançou o sistema de videogame portátil DS em 2004. Na sequência, vieram diversos atualizações da linha, por meio dos modelos DS Lite (DSL), depois a geração DSi (com câmera e microfone) e agora o DSi LL.

A linha DS, atualmente, tem cerca de 113,48 milhões de aparelhos vendidos, 28,12 milhões deles somente no Japão.

Dias atrás o jornal japonês Nikkei Shimbun publicou artigo afirmando que a empresa trabalhava em um novo DSi (com telas maiores) e o lançaria este ano. Hum! Mas a Nintendo disse que era especulação.

Last week, we were generously taken to “the” resto in town. While service and the decor were everything you’d expect from perhaps the most famous resto in the city, the food itself was poorly seasoned and lacking in visual finesse. With its price point and pretentious name – aside from the annoying punctiation in the title, a toque blanche is a chef’s hat – the dining experience should not only have been flawless, but awe-inspiring. The amuse bouche and first two courses of the tasting menu were nicely presented though too liberally dosed with soy sauce to enjoy and the latter four more complex courses were almost bland and ineffectually strewn about each plate. One of our benefactors that night remarked on the lack of contrasting textures in all of the seven tasting menu dishes served – all soft and mostly salty except for the dessert, which was the only successfully executed course of the evening. Had I not written down all of the courses immediately upon returning home, I would not have remembered any of them except that the first couple of courses were way too salty.

Diners pilgrimage to Toque like moths to the flame because of its price tag and trendy fame, but it is hardly the top resto in Montreal.

The chef seemed to have just discovered soy sauce, and used it prominently in the first three courses – including no less than 1/2 tablespoon in the bottom of an amuse bouche shot glass. The dishes were so salty that I was still tasting soy sauce my mouth when we left, even after the dessert, cappuccino, and cloudberry “sweet finish” candy. Halfway through dinner we joked that dessert would be a soy sauce gelato; thankfully it wasn’t (let’s note that the losing contestants on Iron Chef always tried to make ice cream out of the secret ingredient – think monkfish or asparagus ice cream rather than mint chocolate chip or strawberry).

1st course: twin princess scallops in apple water, soy sauce, mild wasabi sorbet, and sliced radish served on a bed of crushed ice

3rd course: ordinary seared foie gras (optional course) sprinkled with pretty though tasteless edible flowers, served on a slice of daikon with a side of citric acid

or

seared arctic char (the better, more savory option)

4th course: chopped chicken under a sheet of soft pastry

5th course: squall, turnip, carmelized onion, broccoli puree, cauliflower puree, beet, roast garlic clove

6th course: Quebecois cheese melted over leafy greens, thinly sliced apple, and a sweet apple relish

7th course: poached apple, candied maple wafer, buffalo vanilla ice cream, berry ice cream served on top of granulated maple sugar

Le Chef de l’Année cuisine dans un salon de thé
Le Guide GaultMillau 2010 est sorti ce lundi 26 octobre. Récompense suprême des Chefs qui ont su allier créativité, inventivité, qualité et stabilité. Alors, qui est le ‘Chef de l’Année’ selon GaultMillau ? Et bien, c’est un pâtissier que récompense le guide. Roger Van Damme, du restaurant Het Gebaar à Anvers est pâtissier et a ouvert  un salon de thé, il y a quelques années, avant de le commuer, peu à peu, en un antre de la gastronomie. Et pompon du pompon, une salon de thé qui n’ouvre que le midi. Du côté des futurs ‘Grands’, c’est Clément Petitjean (La grappe d’Or à Torgny) pour la Wallonie, Thierry Theys (Nuance à Duffel) pour la Flandre et Damien Vanderhoeven (Le Coriandre, Bruxelles) qui ont été consacrés. Le trio de tête reste inchangé : Hof Van Cleve, 19,5/20, Comme Chez Soi et Sea Grill 19/20.
D’autres récompenses vous attendent dans cet incontournable guide gastronomique mais pour cela, il faudra débourser d’abord 25 euro. Bah, moins cher que la superbe assiette de Tomate aux Crevettes de notre talentueux Roger Van Damme.

“Isso vai acabar logo. Não se preocupe tanto.” – ele me falou com a voz segura e suave, sem me olhar nos olhos, enquanto virava o copo, tomando o resto de alguma bebida que sobrava e se dissolvia com as pedras de gelo, depois de ouvir minhas queixas numa mesa de bar.

“Como você pode me dizer isso com tanta segurança?” – perguntei, curiosa.

“Não sei como. Eu só sei. É feeling. Tenho certeza que falta pouco para tudo isso acabar.” – ele falou, desta vez me olhando nos olhos, com a sabedoria de um velho experiente, num corpinho de trinta, com um olhar de garoto esperançoso e uma voz irresistivelmente confiante e masculina.

Dissesse o que fosse, contanto que falasse daquela maneira, eu acreditaria nele. E acreditei. Depois fiquei pensando no efeito que algumas pessoas são capazes de causar na gente…

Eu, por exemplo, tento me convencer todos os dias que coisas boas estão por vir, considerando que nem corro mais atrás, corro na frente disso. Forço-me a lembrar que a vida é cíclica, mas, mesmo assim, algumas vezes sou tomada por um desânimo de dar desgosto, fico descrente e seriamente desconfiada da lei do retorno.

Aí vem ele, despretensioso, e embora me conheça bem, não ousa falar o que preciso – ou quero - ouvir, e mal sabe o efeito que causa. Pega com delicadeza a minha ansiedade infantil e a convence que é hora de criança dormir. Depois beija a minha fé amarga e desperta e adoça a sua sensível existência.

Não é só o que e como é falado, mas quem fala. Tem gente que tem o dom de tocar os sentidos da gente, sem que toque necessariamente num fio de cabelo nosso.

Tem hora que eu me perco, mas aí aparece gente que me acha… gente que é dona de palavras que me beijam. Tem palavras que me tocam como se eu fosse um instrumento musical. Tem notas que eu não conheço, e me seduzem, porque o que eu desconheço também me deseja.

Tem intuição que me afeta, e me avisa que o desconhecido me espera.

Eu? Intimamente eu desejo que ele esteja certo, e intuitivamente acredito que esteja…
