Duo join forces to bring series to screen

Variety/Cynthia Littleton—It’s a potent combination: Steven + Stephen.

Steven Spielberg and Stephen King are joining forces to develop a limited series based on King’s just-released supernatural thriller “Under the Dome.” DreamWorks TV has optioned the book and is looking to set it up as an event series, likely for cable. DreamWorks principal Stacey Snider was key in bringing the project to the company. Spielberg, King and Snider will exec produce along with DreamWorks TV chiefs Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey. The book, which has earned strong reviews as a return to form for the prolific author, revolves around the drama that unfolds after an invisible force field suddenly descends on a small vacation town in Maine. As the locals fight for their survival, the town descends into warring factions led by enigmatic characters.

DreamWorks is starting to meet with writers for the project. The plan is to set a writer before shopping the skein to prospective buyers.

Spielberg and King have worked together in the past, developing a screen adaptation of King’s 1984 novel “The Talisman,” on which Spielberg has had the option for more than 20 years. That project has been developed as a feature, and it came close to being done as a mini for TNT a few years ago until it was tabled for budgetary reasons.

The “Dome” deal continues a burst of activity on the smallscreen side for Spielberg and DreamWorks TV. Among the high-profile projects in the works is a series about the development of a fictional Broadway tuner for Showtime. Another Showtime contender is a costume-drama revolving around the Borgia clan, penned by Neil Jordan and with Robert Zemeckis also producing.

After months of relentless optimism, I’m having my first dark thoughts about Roy Keane.

Town 4 points from safety after just 17 goals in 17 games – and after another lacklustre performance on Sky against an average Sheffield Wednesday I’m starting to really worry for the first time.

Ipswich fans are, by and large, a patient and loyal bunch, most of whom are bright enough to know that some of the hyperbole stirred up by Keane and the media earlier this year was pie in the sky stuff…even if it was nice to go along with it over the summer.

But a vital first win against Derby, scrappy though it was, should have heralded improving performances and that all important run of wins.

But watching Town on Saturday, it was clear that Roy is still far from sure of his best team. Fans’ favourite Owen Garvan made a welcome return to midfield, but Lee Martin looked completely ineffectual in attack, while Tamas Priskin seems a shadow of the player who won over Watford fans with a hatful of goals last season.

Town fans are also yet to see the best from Carlos Edwards, who is neither cheap nor young, though Keane imports Delaney and the tenacious Leadbitter are at least coming good.

But with tricky games at Cardiff,  Bristol and a relegation 6-pointer against Peterborough coming up in the next ten days anything less than 4 points is going to see us in very big trouble indeed.

The board seem to be sticking with Keano for now, as they should – and I hope the fans will too. But as we enter this vital part of the season only wins before Christmas will do, or it will be a truly humiliating start to 2010 for a proud man and a great club.

Port Isaac in Cornwall is where the ITV comedy drama Doc Martin has been filmed and also where the BBC’s Poldark series was filmed in the ’70s.  It is a beautiful Cornish harbour town with good pubs, restaurants and gift shops.

Walking on the tedious path of poetry in a language I barely use… Here we go.

It’s ten in the evening,

Ashes from last night’s fire,

Blend with the snowflakes and, well,

I don’t see the difference.

This man’s pissing on the wall,

Of the bank, a withdrawal,

His girlfriend sits in the car,

Trying to evade my smile.

I see a woman coming fast,

Frail and nervous like a deer,

She looks at me briefly,

My laugh went to her instead.

Eratically, this man,

Drowned himself with his own drink,

And on the other sidewalk,

Someone’s smoking and coughing.

The lights coming from the cars,

Are blinding me and I can’t,

See who is this silhouette,

Not until these spots are gone.

As always there’s some action,

Lots of action on this street,

It’s the main street after all,

And I walk by my own self.

1  A las hordas de personas que leen este piojoso blog  les tengo que pedir una disculpa por no escribir por este periodo largo de tiempo, pero la verdad es que pasaron algunas cosas por las cuales no pude darme el lujo de escribir las estupideces que acostumbro a departir con ustedes, entre todas esos ipedimentos les puedo mencionar que:

1.-El horario de 8 a 8 en la Universidad no me deja mucho tiempo.

2.- No tenía ganas de escribir.

3.-Pase mucho tiempo entre juergas, mujeres y películas….bueno, de lo que recuerdo

2 Les prometo que trataré de regresar con 2 post (mínimo) por semana.

3 Como se podran dar cuenta, mis otros compañeros blogers no andan tampoco muy activos que se diga, por lo que he tenido que tomar algunas medidas. El resto del equipo sigue dentro de Yakuza Town y tambien pueden postear, la única diferencia es que tendrán que llegar a cierto número de post para ganarce un lugar como autenticos autores de este pinchurriento bló.

Sin más que decir, se despide su amigacho  y director general de Yakuza Town Enterprice: Le Reaper.

WATCH it

This movie was quite a good movie. It is about a chubby guy who was a very rude man until the very day he died and suddenly woke up in his operation. And because of that one mistake his whole life had turned up side down. He can then see ghosts. Ghosts who have a goal in life that they did not complete, So they come to him to seek his help but then he brutally turns them down. But after getting involved with one he then fell in love with the ghosts task. The ghost was a business man who had been two timing his wife. He then gets killed. She (his wife) then finds another man who was quite… umm… Odd. The ghosts goal is to  separate them and find her a better man also know as the chubby guy!

As a movie I would give this an 8/10 but as a script its a 9/10.

I enjoyed it. But was that enough?

When I woke up and realized that city is covered in a dense fog I just quickly made myself a morning coffee and took off with my camera . I just so love photographing in a fog. The only problem is that it screws up the quality of the photos, just like night photography… anyway, it’s cool

It’s official – Swindon will be the 1st UK town to offer free Wi-Fi internet access to all its citizens! I can’t wait!
There will be things stuck to the lamp posts to provide the signal (hopefully too high up to be vandalised or urinated on by dogs!)
The problem is, I don’t think the speed will be very fast with everyone using it, and somehow I doubt it’ll stretch right over here to the outskirts. When other towns follow suit, they’ll have better a connection.
