Someone new has arrived!

The long awaited and expected friend…

He wasn’t even patient enough to wait until the lights were adjusted properly.

He was so eager to make his first photo shoot and let you see him that he’d literally jumped in front of my camera.

Though he got shy from time to time he was mostly very brave!

We’d finally settled with this pose.

He’s wearing his scarf and the Finish-style cap in a very fancy manner here.

I love him so much but he still keeps his name a secret…

I’ve been meaning to tell you about the great presents I got at my 6th birthday party!

It was so exciting opening them all…

I got an ENORMOUS teddy from Dizzy Mum’s little human pups (I love it! It is the biggest stuffie I have ever had!)…

…a fluffy yellow ducky from George the Bernese Mountain Dog, which makes a funny “quack quack” sound when I squeeze it…

…a soft, cuddly elephant AND a little tennis-ball hedgehog from my new Agility friend,  Scarlett the Shepherd…

.

…a cute bird with beautiful colours from Cookie & Cinnamon…

…and (how thoughtful!) a special medicine to help pets travel well from Finnegan the Sheltie!

(I also got some fishy yummies from Lucky Bear but unfortunately, they have long disappeared in my tummy! )

Both Cookie & Cinnamon and George had also made their own cards for me!

And then there was the Nina Ottosson “Dog Brick” Interactive Toy that my humans got me all the way from the faraway place called England!

Hsin-Yi was quite surprised that I wasn’t as dumb as she thought and I actually managed to figure it out quite quickly – ha! ha! Next time they will have to buy the 3 Dog level for me!

Well, I have never had so many new stuffies at one time in my life…I don’t know which one to take to bed with me!

I have had a coulpe of good days in the studio, and things are picking up a little now that we’re approaching Christmas. I had a really good photosession today and I’ll post some photos from that later

Okay, so this is not the best shot, but I was a little pressed for time today. All things considered, it didn’t come out too bad

Et pour cette série, c’est le Be@r Mr. Spock qui l’emporte, juste devant le Uglydoll orange et le robot marron. Même si j’en vois déjà me contredire à cause des oreilles rondes et non pointues du vulcain.

Tonight we made Lacey Pumpkin Patch Dog Biscuits.This is one of two recipes for her Thanksgiving Treats.
Pumpkin Patch Dog Biscuits
Makes up to 24 dog biscuits
1 1/2 c Whole Wheat Flour
1 T brown sugar
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
4 T butter flavored crisco
1/2 c canned pumpkin
1 egg
1/2 c buttermilk
Preheat oven to 400.In the first bowl,combine 1 1/2 cups of whole wheat flour,1/2 tsp of cinnamon,1/2 tsp of nutmeg,and cut in shortening 4T of crisco.
In bowl 2,Beat egg with milk(buttermilk),1/2 c pumpkin.Then combine with flour by mixing well.Stir enough till dough becomes soft.Drop by tablespoons onto ungreased cookie sheet and bake 12-15 minutes.Cool and serve.
One thing I liked about this recipe was that it’s very easy for her to chew not hard at all.It’s also tasty too.We’ll make these Pumpkin Patch Dog Biscuits every Thanksgiving for Lacey since she likes it so much!

I love soft things.  Toys.  Cuddlesomes.  Here is Blueue:

with my cat.  I was 4 when Blueue came into my life, I found him at my school jumble sale and he’s been by my side ever since.  See – I was a second-hand shopper even then!  He’s had his foot eaten off by a hamster, been held over a candle by a very mental ex-boyfriend and accompanied me on many trips into hospital.  So as you can see, I’m a fan of the cuddly things.

So today I’m going to be blogging about plushes and softies made out of recycled materials – and believe me – there are a LOT out there.

Firstly the wonderful work of melbangel – the reason why I love her plushes is because they are so obviously made out of recycled materials.  The bold patterns and weird shapes make these creatures marvellous to behold – and I LOVE their names. Weirdoo Megan and Weirdoo Moochie are by far my faves – I LOVE Weirdoo Moochie so much!  SO CUTE!

I really hope that melbangel makes some more of these as they really are so original and so adorable.

Leah Riley is a true inspiration – and is mostly the inspiration for this blog.  She’s apparently ‘embarrassed’ by the amount of t-shirt material she has built up, so she’s been creating a plush-a-day.  They range from skeletons to birds and each one is highly original and a great use of leftover bits of material.

I guess I love this one because of the hidden goth within me.  LOVE the stripes (I love nothing more than stripes and polka dots) and bunnies just do it for me (although Anya may disagree – I’m SUCH a Buffy geek!)

I can’t wait to see what else she comes up with in her desire to use up all that material.  Leah – you are truly an inspiration to this hoarder of material!

Lucy Kate Crafts creates beautifully crafted and unique pieces.  I’m in total awe of her photostream and virtually drool over the plushy wonderfulness that abounds.  This little fox is one of my favourites.

It’s unusual to see a fox – and I think that’s why I love it so much.

However – there is one of her softies that I would LOVE to have on my shelf.  As some of you know I LOVE peacocks, in fact I have an art deco style one tattooed on my back.  She has created this beautiful upcycled softie:

How beautiful is this? I love it so much.   So gorgeous.

What I love about Loopy Dolls is that you know one of their pieces as soon as you see it.  I think that’s the strength of their design and imagination.  The faces are so cute – I could imagine a whole range of Loopy Dolls postcards, t-shirts etc.  They could take over the world!

Today Lacey was a barker from morning to night.Part of it was due to other dogs in the neighborhood barking.Others were when Aunty Betsy and Uncle Sherman came to check on their plants.We took Lacey outside after putting her leash and collar on to visit with Aunty betsy in the front yard.sure enough that’s what Lacey wanted.She just wanted to say hi to one of her favorite people.Lacey had her first interaction with a dog today.When we were outside we passed by the dog who was on the other side of the wall(our neighbor)and Lacey peaked inside the holes of the gate and looked for a few seconds.The other dog just looked at her also for a few seconds.Of course they sniffed the front of each other(through the open spots of the gated fence)then they went into play mode.There was a few growling from both dogs but then it was time to go back to the front.Lacey also got a rawhide that is flavored from Hartz.I knew that it was one of the healthier brands but I can’t say everything is within health reasoning.Although most of it is.There is no by products of any type in it but there is coloring in the rawhide.Otherwise it’s healthy.We went shopping tonight to get ready for thanksgiving cookings.Tomorrow I am going to make Lacey’s Pumpkin Patch Dog Biscuits for her Thanksgiving treat.Either Tuesday or Wednesday I will make her main meal for Thanksgiving.Aunty Betsy and Uncle Sherman are also going to be bringing over their two dogs.Mom wants to try snap a picture of all three dogs(Ours:Lacey maltipoo:maltese/toy poodle)Emi(Shiba Inu)and Mochi(Samoyed).Lacey is the youngest of all three.Lacey 8 months Emi is about 4-6 years old Mochi is about 2-3 years old.

The Japanese retail brand MUJI and LEGO teamed up to develop a set of 4 different boxes. Inside those boxes you’ll find the classic LEGO bricks but also a few sheets of paper. No big deal. Via & more: Today and tomorrow

I am trying Lacey on 1 Tablespoon of Wellness to see how she does.While her bowels are not diarrhea it is on the soft side.I’d hate to take away a favorite food of hers if I can help it…If I mix it she gets soft bowels.If I give her 1/4 cup of Wellness she gets soft bowels(It’s still formed not like literally watered down bowels)Now I am trying combination of 1 T of Wellness + 1 T Solid Gold,1 T Wellness or 1 T Solid Gold..So far she hasn’t eaten since yesterday early morning so I can’t say if it will work or not but we’ll see.
Update:Lacey has ate.Her first bowel was good.the second time it was on the softer side.Yup,I will have to call Wellness today and see what they recommend trying for Lacey.Otherwise back to the drawing board we go.Can’t have soft bowels.I prefer firm instead of soft even through it’s not loose stools.

I really want these super kawaai miniatures Jen44 posted on her flickr account from Re-ment and Megahouse. If I could live in that doll house…

One word…AMAZING!

When Lacey was given the Wellness Super5mix Small Breed by itself she liked it and quickly ate it up but one thing I noticed was her bowels were still soft.So I checked out the ingrediants on Solid Gold & Wellness Super5Mix Small Breed and the difference was the sweet potatoes.On Solid Gold her bowels were more on the firm side and with Solid Gold or even mixed together she gets soft bowels.My guess is she can’t have sweet potatoes in her dog food.The next sample Halos which should be coming this coming week also has sweet potatoes.If even trying Halos she does indeed get soft bowels then I will be assured that it’s the sweet potatoes she’s reacting to.The next one I will inquire after that Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover’s Soul doesn’t have Sweet potatoes so we’ll see what her reaction will be.My guess it better but I can’t be sure till we sample it.

Today we got our free sample of Wellness.While Lacey did not warm up to right away she did warm up to it within a few minutes.She tried and ate.Found out that she loves it!Mixing the SG + Wellness=Success.Well she had soft bowels.I am going to try a combination over the next three months and see what she responds to do better

By February 2010 I should have an idea on how she’ll do better with her dry dog food.Combined or one at a time and switch out.
However with SG + Wellness mixed together it’s easy for her to over eat so now I have to take her bowl and put it up…BUT I decided to make SG(Solid Gold) her main food because her bowels are better and make Wellness and Halo(if she likes it)as her alternatives like every other day or until she gets tired of Solid Gold then give her Wellness till she gets tired of it then back to Solid Gold or something like that.I probably shouldn’t mix it together though.
