This past weekend (thanksgiving 2009) Lil Wayne celebrated  two of his babies’ birthdays. The first one was his daughter, Reginae, for her 11th birthday on Saturday (November 28), everyone from Monica (w/ her two kids), T-Pain, Tiny, Kandi Burruss, and the New Boyz, who performed. The 2nd one was on (November 30) Monday, Weezy’s other baby mother Nivea gave birth to a son who’s name is Neal.

MTV: Taking a break on Monday from a shoot for the second season of her BET reality show, “Tiny & Toya,” T.I.’s fiancée, Tameka “Tiny” Cottle, talked up her latest project, a girl group called OMG Girlz.

Tiny, who knows a bit about being in a girl group thanks to her 1990s run in Xscape (not to mention her hand in penning TLC’s mega-hit “No Scrubs”), said she’s helping to shepherd the debut by the group, which features her daughter, Zonnique (a.k.a. Star) as well as the offspring of Lil Wayne and his ex-wife, Antonia “Toya” Carter, Reginae (a.k.a. Baby Carter).

The preteen/teen quartet (ages 11 to 13) also includes members Basha (a.k.a. Beauty) and Lourdes (a.k.a. Lolo). They got their start last year when Tiny and her production partner, Kiesha Babi, began talking to Zonnique about her singing ability and encouraging her to form a group. Zonnique was actually already a veteran of one short-lived two-girl act, QT Posse, and Tiny suggested she hook up with Reginae to see if they could get something going. When Baby Carter proved her inherited rhyming skills to Tiny, the music industry vet knew she was on to something. “She started rapping for me and I thought this would be great,” Tiny said.

As a mother and a survivor of the girl-group mill, Tiny’s making sure her daughter’s crew doesn’t fall into the usual music industry traps that are typical for young acts. “I’m definitely using my experience and telling them the things I’ve been through,” she said. “I don’t want them to go through things I went through, so I tell them stories so we can avoid going in that direction.”

OMG has played a few shows here and there, appearing at the SoulCircus in Charlotte, North Carolina, recently and at a charity event in Chicago, where they performed their first single, “Ain’t Nobody,” snippets of some of the other songs Tiny has helped write for them, and a few covers that they dance over.

“We’re getting calls all the time and we have shows booked through March,” said Tiny. So far, she’s co-written seven or eight songs for the group’s debut along with Babi, and the women have been encouraging the girls to get their feet wet with songwriting, since, as Tiny knows, that’s where the real money is. “Kiesha and I wrote ‘Ain’t Nobody,’ but Reginae wrote on that one too,” she said. “We’re trying to coach them to write, and they’ve come up with good stuff.”

The Timbaland-style “Ain’t Nobody,” which sounds like TLC-meets-Rihanna, is a teen love lament, with the girls complaining about boys they’re no longer interested in who won’t take a hint: “Ain’t nobody thinking bout you/ I ain’t never had a boy that be sweatin’ me bad as you do/ But I’m just not that into you/ I know it’s hard but you should try forgetting me,” they sing over a futuristic keyboard squiggle.

Baby Carter breaks in midway with a few bars in which she does Daddy proud, rapping, “My name is Reginae/ But you can call me Baby Carter/ They love me and they hate me cuz I’m Weezy F’s daughter/ Yeah, I’m a brat and I think it’s my world/ And I’m stuntin’ like my daddy, cuz I’m daddy’s little girl/ When I walk up in the spot, upgrades the room/ And if you standin’ next to me, I will upgrade you too.”

Despite some conspicuous-consumption lyrics (Baby says she wants a laptop and a Benz for her birthday), Tiny said the idea with OMG was to keep it clean and wholesome and provide some fun party music for younger fans. “It’s definitely music that’s OK for kids,” she said. The focus now is on finishing the album and getting a record deal, as “Ain’t Nobody” hits radio before the end of the year.

As for the girls’ famous fathers, Tiny said Weezy has already promised he’s working on a song for them that he’s going to finish before he goes to prison next year. “Tip, you know it! He already told Star he’s going to do a song with them,” Tiny said. “They’re excited.”

“Jerkin’ ” stars the New Boyz also want to get in on the OMG album, and one of Wayne’s protégé’s, Lil Chuckee, has already jumped on the remix of “Ain’t Nobody.”

So news just broke that Toya and James Hardy are no longer together, and although there’s no word on why the two decided to split, they do wish to remain friends. Damn, they were sooo cute together!

Of course we’ve all heard by now that Lil Wanye is going to be serving a year in prison. Since he was charged in NY, he will serve his term at Rikers Island State Prison. This is  where many rappers have served time at, such as Tony Yayo, Foxy Brown Cool G Rap, and where Shyne just came from. Wayne is due for sentencing in February of 2010. At that time he is expected to be sentenced to a year in prison, and will probably serve eight to 10 months, assuming good behavior.

The incident took place in July 2007, when police pulled over Wayne’s tour bus at around 11:30 p.m. on the night of his show at New York’s Beacon Theatre. They arrested the rapper for criminal possession of a weapon and another man on the bus for criminal possession of marijuana. Even before his show that night, Wayne made repeated comments from the stage about being hassled by police and threatened not to perform in New York again.

Many concerns are arising and are at stake. For instance, who will step up for Cash Money Records will Drake rumored to be releasing another mixtape, Birdman w/ another album coming out, and Bow Wow as well. Also things like; did Curren$y make the right decision by leaving Young Money, what will his baby mamas/children do, will his “GANG AFFILIATION” affect his prison experience. and will he still current after he is release.

What ironic is, that in Drake’s Ignorant Shit feat. Lil Wayne. Weezy made line that went.. “And I take probation/I don’t want that t.I. and vick (Michael Vick) vacation”…….and now he does..

One more question is….Will Wanye have to cut his dreads?

“Male prisoners are only allowed to wear their hair in cornrows, going straight back. And they can’t exceed the ‘natural hairline’ in length.” Now of course our question is: what does ‘natural hairline’ mean?

“It means it can’t extend the neck.” But there is one loop-hole in the issue – though I’m not sure it’s going to help Wayne. “Prisoners who claim Rastafarri as their religion are allowed in most cases to keep their locks. But even then there’s a process to determine if it’s genuine.”

With the recent death of Khandi’s (Tiny’s former Xscape groupmate/friend) late fiancée, Ashley “AJ” Jewell. T.I. has  urged Tiny to stay close to home to prevent becoming a possible target.

“I talk to him about a little of everything, just things going on. He hears things and we talk about it,” Tiny explained to AllHipHop.com. “He wants me to stay out the way, me being out of harm’s way. I know it’s a lot of crazy things going on so I try to stay in as much as possible because I don’t have him here. So I come out only when it’s necessary. I stay out the way. But he even said it was a terrible situation that AJ had to lose his life like that. Him not knowing the situation and what’s going on he really can’t speak on it.”    -Tiny

Antonia “Toya” Carter sat down with Khadija Jacob of Taylor-Ector Studios and had a candid interview recently. She talks about life after “Tiny & Toya”, how much she hates being referred to as “Wayne’s baby mama” or “Wayne’s ex-wife”, how people doubted the show in the beginning and more. Toya’s accent throws me sometimes but she my girl, love how she keeps it real.

And here is the cast of “The Game” on their way to ATL. More reason to put the doubt out ya mind that the show isn’t coming back. They are reportedly filming in Atlanta for the new season.

The mother of Lil Wayne’s first child, Antonia “Toya” Carter, recently talked about her relationship with lil wayne and speak on what she thinks of lil wayne having multiple children. Toya who shares one daughter (Reginae) with wayne says there isn’t any drama between the two.
She says, “We talk. We have a great relationship.He’s a great father. I’m good with all of them (the mothers). I try to keep the kids cool because they’re all in the same situation, so we don’t have time for any drama.”

Looks like I’m not the only one that’s completely outraged, here’s a letter that was sent into BET:

I love that there’s an African American company that promotes black entertainment. I think BET does a wonderful job with exploring and reaching the urban communities. But I have an issue that just came up. You guys ran a reality show with “Toya and Tiny” a couple of months ago. What I got from that show was two young ladies attemtping to move from the view of their kids father. I guess you guys were attempting to send a positive message. But not even 6 months later, Toya is publicing a recent birthday gift which is a hand gun on twitter with a comment, “I love it.” Besides Wayne just appearing in Court for a handgun charge and her daughter actually being on twitter, I think it’s very disrespectful and inappropriated for Toya to display this type of behavior. It truly doesn’t send a positive message. African Americans already has to face the challenge of sterotypes and sigmas that society has placed on our culture. I think Toya is a nice young lady but made a bad chose. Please remind
her to always represent herself in a positive manner no matter where she is and regardless to who her audience is. We not only represent ourselves, we represent a nation of people like us.

I was very bothered by Toya’s most recent twitter picture and comment. And can’t image if anyone else feel the same way.
