<p>We need lots of FB DR Volunteers to participate in Crossover 2009 where Florida Baptists seek to “Live Love Loud” in Pensacola.  Crossover is an evangelistic servant ministry effort held in conjunction with the Florida Baptist Convention Annual meeting that will be held at Olive Baptist Church, Pensacola on November 9 &#38; 10<sup>th</sup>.</p>

<p>Here are the various opportunities to get involved.</p>
<p><strong>BARNABAS VOLUNTEERS &#8211; </strong><strong>STILL NEEDED!!!! -  Saturday, November 7 – </strong>8:00 AM – 3:30 PM <strong> &#8211; </strong>Need 60 Barnabas Volunteer<br />
<strong>Family Food Distribution -  4 sites &#8211; 3 in Pensacola &#38; 1 in Century </strong>(Food boxes provided through Feed the Children)</p>
<p>Volunteers will help families pick up and load food boxes; take moment to pray share Gospel with them<br />
Volunteers need to pre-register so we can assign them to a site &#8211; Pre-register by email (disaster@flbaptist.org) or phone (800-226-8584 ext 3121) by Thursday, November 5th.<br />
Be at your assigned site @ 8AM Saturday for orientation &#38; prayer walking; distribution Starts @10 AM; You should be through no later than  mid-afternoon but as always, BE FLEXIBLE!!!<br />
Optional Housing , (DR style campout) in a local church will be available on Friday night for those that cannot drive in Saturday AM.<br />
It is ok to bring friends that may not be DR Barnabas trained but they must pre-register and be ready to serve folks and share their faith.</p>
<p><strong>FILLED</strong><strong> &#8211; Friday, November 6<sup>th</sup></strong> – 8:00 AM – Noon – 3 locations – <strong>CLEANUP OR LOGISTICS VOLUNTEERS &#8211; </strong>Need a total of 12-16 DR volunteers to help unload 3 Feed the Children trucks.  (one truck per location)  The food will be distributed to needy families in those communities on Saturday.  ALSO NEED CREW OF 5-6 TO UNLOAD 1 TRUCK ON SATURDAY.</p>
<p><strong>FILLED</strong> &#8211; <strong>Saturday, November 7 </strong><strong>– </strong>7:30 AM – 3:00 PM – <strong>FEEDING VOLUNTEERS &#8211; </strong>Need 20-30 feeding volunteers to help prepare meals on the feeding unit.  Some volunteers will be needed to go with the food and help serve it at 4-5 sites across the Pensacola area where other groups are conducting Block Parties, Baseball Clinic &#38; Basketball Clinic.</p>
<p><strong>FILLED _ </strong><strong>Monday, November 9</strong> – 8:00 AM – 3:00PM – <strong>FEEDING VOLUNTEERS </strong>– Need 20 -25 feeding volunteers to prepare and serve lunch to pastors attending the Pastor’s conference.</p>
<p><strong>FILLED &#8211; Tuesday, November 10 &#8211; </strong> 8:00 – 3:00 PM – <strong>FEEDING VOLUNTEERS</strong> – Need 20-30 Feeding volunteers to prepare and serve lunch to messengers attending the convention.  An additional 10-15 volunteers will be needed to take food during lunch to 3-4 sites in Pensacola to serve food to homeless areas.</p>

Thanks to a supplier we have been given the opportunity to use metal for this roofing project for less cost than shingles. This will save us time, money and the roof will last longer.</p>

<p>We will divide the work up into  several 3 day periods;</p>
<p>Period One: Monday, Tuesday  Wednesday</p>
<p>Period Two: Thursday, Friday,  Saturday.</p>
<p>Period Three: Monday, Tuesday,  Wednesday</p>
<p>Period Four: Thursday, Friday,  Saturday</p>
<p>(Periods three and four will be  scheduled only if needed.)</p>
<p><strong>We encourage groups /  individuals to arrive at their convenience, knowing that the above periods are  suggestion and not hard fast times. A volunteer can attend for the entire time  or any potion thereof. </strong></p>
<p><strong>However, We  must request that Volunteers notify us of  their planned attendance this includes arrival date and time as well as departure date and time.This will assist us in lodging arrangements and meal counts.</strong></p>
<p><strong>If you plan to attend please notify the Disaster Relief Office in Jacksonville at:</strong> <strong>(800) 226-8584 ex.3121 or via email at: disaster@flbaptist.org</strong>.</p>
<p>This notification must be sent 3 days prior to the start of this training. If  someone from the local area (Blue  Springs) desires to work and not lodge we must know to  get an accurate meal count for that day. The number of attendees will determine  the length of the training, therefore the sooner we know the attendance numbers  the better.</p>
<p>The Training will start on Monday  Oct. 19. It will be permissible for volunteers to arrive Sunday evening Oct. 18, if  notification is sent.</p>
<p>Schedule:</p>
<p><strong>Monday (Oct. 19)</strong>, Blue Springs will provide  lunch and Dinner (should a large number of Volunteers plan to arrive Sunday we  will discuss having breakfast). Also, a Conference / classroom  area.</p>
<p>We will encourage and anticipate  most of the volunteers to arrive that morning ready to work.</p>
<p>We will do work on the roof that  morning but anticipate that most will be between lunch and Dinner.</p>
<p>After dinner, we will have an  instructional period to include orientation (orientation for new Volunteers) and  roof instruction.</p>
<p><strong>Tuesday (Oct. 20)</strong>, Blue Springs will provide  breakfast, lunch and Dinner. A Conference / classroom  area.</p>
<p>Roof work will begin immediately  following breakfast, with a appropriate breaks through out the day to include  lunch.</p>
<p>Work will cease for Dinner with  class / fellowship time as needed before lights  out.</p>
<p><strong>Wednesday (Oct. 21)</strong> Blue Springs will provide  breakfast, lunch and Dinner. A Conference / classroom  area.</p>

This training will provide for a need at one of our supported Baptist Conference Centers and allow for the training and fellowship of our Volunteers.</p>
<p>Dates – Monday, October 19 – Saturday, October 24 (extended to Monday October 26 &#8211; Saturday, October 31 if needed)</p>
<p>*Groups can come for all or part of the week.</p>
<p><strong>Open to DR Cleanup teams, Church construction teams and Individuals.</strong></p>
<p>Project – Reroof the Blue Springs Youth Camp Chapel &#38; Education Building  (13,200 Sq. ft. building)</p>

<p><strong>Open to DR Cleanup teams, Church construction teams and Individuals.</strong></p>
<p>Project – Reroof the Blue Springs Youth Camp Chapel (8,500 Sq ft building)</p>
<p>Materials Provided.</p>
<p>Evenings will include sessions on Florida roofing codes and what teams must do to</p>
<p>comply with these codes when roofing churches and individual homes.</p>
<p>Costs – No cost for housing or meals while at Blue   Springs.</p>
<p>Bobby Peebles of the Marion Association will be the On Site Coordinator.</p>
<p>Duke King of Brevard Association will provide, optional, class room training in evening sessions. This training will include instructions to meet the Current Florida Building Code.</p>
<p>We will also be offering Orientation to Clean Up and Recovery in the evenings to first time volunteers, as needed.</p>
<p>This is a wonderful opportunity to discuss and develop the skills needed to provide roofing needs across our state. We look forward to seeing you there!</p>
