By Ruth Shari Whether dealing with a retail customer for traditional consumer goods, a client procur

By Ruth Shari

Whether dealing with a retail customer for traditional consumer goods, a client procuring services or an investor, you may have noticed pronounced changes in the way that person, referred to below as” he,” behaves. The bottom line is that he will not be doing business the same way it’s been done before. Look for these signs of “new” in today’s consumer:

—-He will not be buying a car the same way he did before.

—-He will not be buying a home the same way he did before.

—-He will not be investing the same way he did before.

—-He’s online and he’s googling, not yellow-paging.

—-He’s socializing: telling everyone what’s happening in his world and the outside world.

—-He’s tweeting, facebooking, and linked-in-ing.

—-He’s texting, a lot.

—-He’s using his mobile device for pretty much everything.

—-He’s WiFi-ing in his hotel room, on the plane, in Starbuck’s and at home.

—-If he’s reading a paper, or getting the news, it’s online.

—-He’s as likely to watch “The Daily Show,” “The Colbert Report” or listen to Howard Stern for news as he is to watch a network news person read a teleprompter.

—-He’s purchasing after midnight.

—-He is value oriented, but will look to price as part of the decision.

—-He wants a relationship.

—-He does not want to wait for anything or anyone.

—-He needs help and expert advice.

—-He wants, needs and expects GREAT service after the sale.

—-He’s looking for ideas and answers.

—-He can check your price and your facts in two seconds or less on Google.

—-He knows as much about your product as you do.

—-He knows more about your competitor’s product than you do.

—-He is SICK of your recorded hold message and hearing how important his call is while he stands on hold.

—-He demands the truth, all the time.

—-He no longer trusts the institutions he used to hold sacred.

—-He expects you to be as computer literate as he is.

—-He needs to be understood and feel your sincere concern.

—-While you are qualifying him, he is qualifying you.

—-He’s looking for ease of doing business with you.

The economy may be coming back, and when it does, business will likely not be done as usual. How can you be sure the new customer will be yours and not your competitor’s? Send us your thoughts.

We DO need people that are fully alive, living their potential in total freedom, abundance, and pros

We DO need people that are fully alive, living their potential in total freedom, abundance, and prosperity, doing good work in the world that they’re passionate about with a sense of humor; without that, we’re all doomed.

There’s one thing for sure, and that is that there’s definitely a LACK OF, and a REAL NEED for, Authenticity, Raw Honesty, Transparency, Love, AND a lot more Fun in the world.

We need more people who are living THEIR OWN truth in their lives, their art, and their businesses, doing what they love, making a difference, and are totally free creatively AND financially, as well as having outrageous fun, passion filled, purpose filled and meaningful lives. It’s time for that to change, and we aim to change it…AND we’re just CRAZY enough to do it.

I’m convinced that if more people were being really authentic, AND doing what they love, that EVERYTHING would change dramatically for the better.

- Scott Brandon Hoffman (http://livinginahumansuit.com)

I came across this piece on Scott’s fabulous website yesterday. I felt so very happy and uplifted to have found another individual who shares so many of the (“out of the box”) beliefs as Graeme and I.

It was so refreshing to feel that there are other people out there doing things Their Own Way. Doing things with Passion, in the spirit of pure Fun….coupled with a very serious, strong and Real Desire for Meaningful Change and Beauty in the World.

Scott’s website is humourous, witty, practical, wise and content rich…and he really will tell you how it is.

So please, if you can’t handle that kind of stuff, or if you dislike being taken out of your comfort zone…stay full away from it.

So just to recap:

“We need more people who are living THEIR OWN truth in their lives, their art, and their businesses, doing what they love, making a difference, and are totally free creatively AND financially, as well as having outrageous fun, passion filled, purpose filled and meaningful lives. It’s time for that to change, and we aim to change it…AND we’re just CRAZY enough to do it.”

If that sounds good to you, we’d love you to come join us…

To you living YOUR OWN truth,

Jess Stuart

Havens of Blog Talk Radio and Tia Carr Williams. Ms. Williams lives in Marysville and, while she’s not been able to attend, has been following the work of the Columbus Social Media Cafe.
