Today we had a VERY long day of travel from Calgary to San Juan, Puerto Rico. Our first flight was at 7 am and we arrived in Dallas, TX, sometime around lunch time. The four of us had food as our first priority so we quickly sat down for a bite to eat and to get ready for our 5 hour layover at the airport. Almost as soon as lunch was over one of our colleagues realized that she had left her passport, and basically all photo id, money, and credit cards on our last plane! Panic ensued and there was a lot of running around from that point on. The flight with her passport had already departed for Denver and wasn’t due back until 5:30pm, 20 minutes later than our flight was due to leave for San Juan. But the universe bent to our will and it actually all worked out a bit like a miracle. Our flight to San Juan was delayed by over an hour so her passport had time to get back to Dallas. We are thinking this must be a good omen; that everything for the rest of the trip will work out, we think, maybe, probably…

Karin brought a project for us and we are both pretty excited about it. Her middle son sent his coveted Indiana Jones Lego character and our assignment is to take his photo in as many places as possible. This is his first photo of the trip. While little Indie waited for our flight to Dallas. Throughout the day we had a lot of fun getting his picture in different places and with different people. We are pretty sure that her son is going to love our execution of his little project.

Today we have one last flight from here to Dominica and apparently it is the most exciting flight of the trip. The gist of it is that we will be in a very small plane landing on a very small runway on a very small Island. Wish us luck! Tomorrow we have our first day of teaching and I think I’m prepared
