A double F band for this post.

Future of Forestry is an indie rock band from Southern California. The band originally started out with the name Something Like Silas and they actually had a part in planting Flood Church in San Diego, California. They later signed with Sparrow records and changed their name to Future of Forestry. Their studio album Twilight has a sweet indie rock sound that is unique in its own way but can easily be categorized as something Kings of Leon and Daughtry fans may love. Although both Daughtry and Kings of Leon are very different bands Future of Forestry is somewhere in between both of these bands in terms of rock and sound. The bands softer songs such as “Twilight” also offer similarities to Home Video and One Silver Astronaut. Check out “Gazing”, “Open Wide”, “Twilight”, “Hallelujah”, “Close Your Eyes” and “Hills of Indigo Blue “. Also notable are their travel eps, Travel I, Travel II and Travel III.

The Show is at 7PM and tickets are only $6! You can get em at the church or online here. Don’t miss it!

I absolutely love arranging Christmas music. In part because I love Christmas music and I’m a musician, but also I think because there’s so little of it out there in my musical “heart language”. I’ve heard various arrangements Eric Owyoung has done over the years, but when Kim and I sat through an entire set 2 years ago, I felt like I heard it all again for the first time! Amazing.

check out their new EP’s Travel I & Travel II on iTunes as well as the Christmas EP.
