Che i paesi scandinavi abbiano una maturità – in campo di diritti civili e liberalizzazione dei costumi – inimmaginabile a queste latitudini, è un fatto. È vero pure, d’altra parte, che una simile spregiudicatezza di costumi porta spesso a incorrere in episodi quantomeno controversi. Ricordiamo, circa quattro anni fa, la spinosissima questione delle vignette danesi su Maometto (rilanciate con eleganza senza pari, in Italia, dall’allora ministro per le riforme), che tante ne fece dire sui sapidi temi della libertà di satira, della censura[1], del vilipendio della religione, etc, etc.

Proprio dai ghiacci del nord (una regione che già morfologicamente pare essere destinata dalla natura a mostrare una particolare sensibilità per certi argomenti) ci giungono ora queste immagini inquietanti, che – ne siamo certi – getteranno benzina sul fuoco delle accese discussioni in tema di sessualità infantile, costituzione del bambino come perverso polimorfo, opportunità di affidare i pargoli alle cure del vecchio vicino con la barba incolta, i vestiti strappati e una luce di follia negli occhi.

A quanto pare gli amici svedesi e norvegesi trovano perfettamente normale esporre, tra un fiordo innevato e uno Strindbergsmuseet, queste grottesche raffigurazioni di fraudolenta seduzione pederotica, rese ancor più disturbanti dalle tinte pastello e dalla sinuosa morbidezza delle linee, che stridono aspramente con la temeraria scelta iconografica.

Non stupisce, dunque, che una fantasia palesemente degenerata, trovandosi di fronte a simili turpitudini, si sia abbandonata – sul verso – a descrivere con magniloquenza l’infame conquista amorosa del recto, ottenendo i risultati che qui vedete riprodotti.

Una cosa è certa: il compianto autore delle gustose illustrazioni – una celebrità nazionale, in Svezia – oggi ci guarda dall’alto, e attraverso l’ispida foresta canuta che gli copre il volto ci pare di sentirlo sussurrare: “…ancora!”.

[1] En passant, vale la pena ricordare come, anche per le persone più brillanti e qualificate in tema di dileggio dissacrante e politicamente scorretto, la questione del limite sia una gatta da pelare che manco col tosaerba. Un esempio niente male è questo lunghissimo e mirabilmente assertivo post a puntate di Daniele Luttazzi, in cui l’apprezzabile comico si inerpica su territori scivolosi per dire che le gag dei Griffin su Anna Frank sono “fascistoidi”, mentre le sue battute su Hitler o suoi feti nati morti si pongono “dalla parte della vittima”. Un post che, spiace dirlo, conferma come il peggior difetto di Luttazzi sia proprio quello di non avere mai un briciolo di autocritica. Ed è un peccato perché potenzialmente sarebbe un grande.

Yesterday, a package arrived at work for me.

It contained my prize from YnB over at Two Yorks and a Bean, for having luckily guessed who lurked behind which front door in one of her recent photo competitions.

Apparently, the little chap is called Ben, and despite having spent a while sealed into a confined airtight container, assures me that he is not related to David Blaine.

Once out of his package, the little sod drank half my coffee, burped loudly and started checking some of the drawings scattered about my desk.

I can see that we’re going to have to set a few ground rules.

The trouble is…. he’s bigger than me!

So Jawn, you missed a day oh wells, that cant be helped let me show you what i did within the days i missed. But first!

Excuses You must hear em.
My internet is currently capped at the momment i am so surprised i can actually post stuff, but it is disheartening for me to wait more than a minute to have anything load up, knocked back to the old 56kbps days sigh… if everything werent so high tech.

So its my friend’s Ross’ birthday tomorrow, and yeah i owe this guy big time ahaha, he was the main influence of me starting FOA with the other guys as an idea, although i havent been following his plans it was mainly his enthusiasm that made me start this site. So without further ado this is what i have been doing on the past two days:

So yeah ross doesnt like manga as much as he does with regular comics so i dont have any other comics in my room except for the Wildstorm World of Warcraft ones, so they sufficed, I picked a random page i thought would require alot of effort. With practice copying you want to push yourself to the limit with whatever it is your copying. It wouldnt matter if its a single page or something simple with 8 to 9 panels. if you think you can do it persistance will pay off.

First of all the major difference between Manga and that of Comics is the stages they use, From what i recall Manga has multiple stages, and all are pretty much equal in terms of “consistency” and “Quality”. (My manga theory and stuff may differ from you guyse, but if you think i am wrong feel free to mention in comments or send me hate mail I know ross probably will when he reads this. Comics from dark horse and other stuff require that high level of intensity and quality, at least the comics i read anyway. A page could take up to 10 hours or even more just on pencilling their focus on the fine detail is so incredible and is a good learning experience.

First of all if you haven’t seen Stephen Platt’s video on comic book penciling, it is an excellent tool to have, I have watched his video countless times and everytime i watch it i pick up something new. Its exceptionally awesome, jaw dropping to over 9000 levels. I think i have a screenshot of me watching while talking to ppl on msn

So some tips that i pulled from.

If you Want consistancy in lines use a H4 pencil. I frequently draft in H4, and the image above is rendered in H4. H4 is very hard and wont smudge as much when your moving your hand across the paper it helps alot, it wont break when you push down as hard (Unless your superman and manage to use your strength to muck it up lols) this means less sharpening time and more lasting pencils. H4 is what i have been using for the past year or so when it comes to drawing stuff for friends and family I have just told my sister to start using it and her stuff has been alot cleaner since then. Oh yeah i did mention that your lines become cleaner right? Because it is hard and consistency erasing wont be a problem. It offers a similar effect in photoshop when you have pressure sensitivity on your brush. Its good I highly reccommend that anyone who is going to do any drawing of some sort to just DRAFT in H4 its even possible to render in H4. I have just proven it.

Paper isn’t much of an issue, For this one i always use the standard manga paper >_> I am using the I-C INC. Manga Paper B4, 180mmx270mm 110kg paper. Its good and tough and i liek the stuff its better than the ordinary paper i use for practice. and it has lines showing where i should draw my panels.

Personal tips:

Firstly eyes and facial features, render them first, they make your life easier, and while your pencil is sharp your renders will make your life easier.

Work in batches, Render from one area to another area, I usually render left to right on the panel, or what i like to render first it makes your life easier.

Don’t rush or get impatient. Once that happens its all over, after awhile you’ll become dissatisfied and disorientated and you will start noticing mistakes. When rendering especially something for a friend, try not to rush. If you get impatient put the drawing aside and take a break, play a couple of games, grab a drink. Nothing ruins the day by noticing you have major mistakes in the drawings (Minor is acceptable i guess). Sure you can erase em, but if you outline and render in anything above 4H you will definitely be raging so hard. Prevent what is preventable.

The Outcomes:

Firstly: Increased Patience, nothing beats patience the longer you wait for something the more worthwhile it is, which is why whenever i open a comic or even a manga in general you will be incredibly awed by what is presented in front of you. To achieve that level of render does not happen immediately. It takes long days of practice and wasted live to achieve it. Patience is part of practice the final product i timed is between 7 to 8 hours of work. It certainly payed off.

Secondly: Every person who has sketched something in high detail and then return to their normal drawing form will find added detail in the same time, able to draw drafts and sketches alot quicker than usual and the ability to apply good renders from what you have learned from the practice. Practice does not mean increased ability to draw, its an expansion of talent. It is something you will be able to remember years from now. I stopped drawing between my age 18 to 20 switching from hardcore to casual and back to hardcore, the skills i have learnt when i was 6-18 still remain with me. Every practice you do will carry over skills and abilities that you have learnt on to your next project and can be applied years from now.

Lastly: Self satisfaction. Sure you wasted 7.5 hours of your life drawing something that 3 years from now may look crap, as an artist your always improving knowing when you are satisfied with what you have done is a key development to self improvement. As long as you are satisfied with what you do no matter what people say or do (even if its hurtful) your achievement is yours and yours only, of course there are external influences but they matter into your improvement.

Thats it for now, theres more i can talk about but that will defy the meaning of my blog and i will have nothing to say next time lol.

So the guys who skipped all that who aren’t artists, I have K-on! fever and I am going to start playing Bass guitar soon (random christmas pressie from me to me) I am close to getting one of these! Link:

Also been playing alot of Assassin’s creed, looks like i will be playing Mario tomorrow as well with a certain someone xD. I also get an increased internet usage from 12gb to 20gb next month thanks to dad… yaaaaay and i don’t uncap until for 5 days, and it doesn’t seem like a good excuse for me to stop posting hence this 1000 word rant.

Side note congrats to Jeffo and his “So called to be Girl Friend”. lol just kidding champ no pun intended.

I guess i can take over his spot awhile and work on a couple of gundam models. My camera is not as pro as Jeffos… or is it…

een busy making brooches for the holiday season. I love the acorns, pumpkins, oak leaves and flowers, but nothing tops the pomegranate. I used felt, yarn and fabric covered buttons to make these lovely brooches; I added garnet beads to the felt pom to make the juicy seeds. I even have the oak leaf pattern available in my shop so that you can make your own oak leaf brooch, applique or embroidery. There’s even three adorable little acorns to go with your leaves.

I love the way a brooch can dress up a plain coat or dress. They can even make a t-shirt look dressy. Sometimes you can even put them on a bag to add a little visual interest. How beautiful would a handmade brooch be on that amazing little black dress?

My favorite brooch ingredients are wool, bamboo, acrylic novelty or cotton yarn, semi-precious stone beads, glass beads, eco felt, wool felt, covered buttons, vintage fabrics, vintage buttons, lace, ribbon, embroidery floss, metallic thread and love. I like to incorporate new things in my brooches, truly making them one of a kind. Though some of the felt ones can always be remade, I try to make each one special.

Anoche despues de terminar las daylies del evento de thanksgiving, fui a un run al dungeon mencionado. Fui con mi compa Gsquall. Era la primera ves que iba a un dungeon abierto. Me agrado mucho el hecho de poder usar mi montura en un dungeon XD.

Acabamos en media hora el run, y no paso a mayores. Como siempre cuando voy con el, el mata y yo looteo. Y saque equipo bueno para mis 2 aspectos de Dsvacalala.

Esta noche queria ir de nuevo pero se me olvido que ayer tenia que haber pagado. Y hoy tengo la cuenta congelada XD. Lo que mas me pesa es perder los 12k de exp aproximada, que me dan por las daylies del evento de accion de gracias. Y que los ganas nada mas por cocinar. Pero bueno sin llorar.

Eye ball implants will enable researchers to see the world through the eyes of drug users.

The National Reporter
Scientists at MIT’s nanotechnology labs have developed a new type of vision enhancing implant that can be mounted onto the eyeballs of volunteers.
Once in place, the implants pick up the brainwaves of the test subject while under the influence of mind altering drugs such as LSD and are able to transmit the actual hallucinogenic images they are seeing back to a monitor.
“This is a major breakthrough in the field of psychiatric medicine.” Doctor Fred Reeves told  The National Reporter.
“This device will allow us to see exactly what people under the influence of drugs see.  This will help us to understand how certain drugs effect the mind.”
The National Reporter  was on hand during the first field test of the new device to see how it worked.
The first subject was fitted with his broadcasting unit and then given a dose of LSD,  he was then equiped with an inconspicuous antenna that was mounted on top of the head like a hat.
When the LSD began to take effect,  the subject was led away from the test vehicle and set free to walk around the town as the excited scientists watched every thing he was seeing through the monitor.
After awhile the images started to become fuzzy with small flashes of colored light skittering around objects,  then things began to stretch out of shape as if time and space itself was being torn apart.
The scientists watched closely as the subject walked up to a police officer and stared at him for a few minutes.

The subject found the traffic officer very interesting for some reason.

When we looked at the monitor we could see what he found so interesting about the policeman.
In the drug abusers mind, the police officer had become a green clay like creature and the automobiles behind him had somehow morphed into a little troll bridge like one would see in a children’s fantasy film.

An aide who was following the subject to make sure he didn’t get into any trouble, came forward and nudged him away from the police officer and guided him down the street a short distance.
When he began crossing over to sidewalk cafe that was bustling with people, he stopped dead in his tracks and stared wide-eyed at a pair of small people.
For the next few minutes the subject and the tiny couple were locked in a staring contest.
They of course had no idea that he was high on drugs, they thought he was being rude.

The tiny couple and the test subject were frozen in their tracks staring each other down.

Back at the lab’s video monitor we could see exactly what our subject was seeing in his drugged up stupor and it was truly amazing.
To him, the dwarf couple appeared to be some sort of alien creatures and they were making strange sounds, like birds peeping and chirping.
Everything in the background, people, cars and objects seemed to be moving in slow motion and an odd sound like a deep oscillating hum was echoing from the distance.

The dwarf couple appeared to be small alien type beings squirming and making peeping sounds.

After a few minutes, the dwarf couple gave the test subject a dirty look and walked off.
He started to follow them but he was intercepted by the aid and brought back to the lab.
The scientists figured he had too much LSD and that he might get himself into trouble.
The subject was sedated and placed on a cot with his arms and legs strapped down for safety reasons while the scientists sat at the monitors reviewing the recordings of his LSD adventure.
“This is going to be a major breakthrough in the study of drug induced psychosis.” Doctor Freely said. “Instead of guessing what is wrong with a patient and taking great risk to calm them down when they are in this condition, emergency room personal will be able to see what is going on in the minds of their patients and it will be much easier for them to treat them.”
The National Reporter - It’s also very amusing to see the bizarre things that they are seeing.
“Yes, it is.” Doctor Freely said.

Jo, vi upptäckte att vi hade en mus i köket, de flyttar in nu de små rackarna. Eftersom Zorro och Teddy kamperar i varsin del av huset nattetid på grund av Zorros benbekymmer, Teddy har inte tillgång till köket då, så ställde vi ut en bur för att fånga musen. För musen var ju naturligtvis inte ute och sprang runt i köket när vi var uppe och stökade runt.

Och se, i morse så satt den arma musen i buren, något som Teddy så klart såg på en gång! Och då såg Zorro detsamma. Kan bara tänka mig den arma musens ångest, en katt på ena sidan som tassade på buren och en gigantisk hund som frustade som jag vet inte vad på andra sidan. Jag släppte ut musen i trädgården, tänkte att hon eller han genomlidit tillräckligt. Två minuter senare kommer en stolt katt in genom sin katttlucka, med en väldigt död mus… Jo han är en riktig jaktkatt Teddy!

Och när man talar om trollen, nu kom kattskrället in med en levande råtta!

I do not understand Internet trolling. I do not understand why you would visit someone’s blog (in this case) and call her names and belittle her — especially if the post in question is about trying to bring joy to sick kids.

It’s one thing to be mean on a news site or call fellow commenters on those sites names. I can understand a difference of opinion. Although when it gets to the level of flaming, hate-filled speech it should just stop. People certainly have big cojones on the Internet, I’ll give them that.

I have never posted anonymously on any site anywhere. (Well, okay, when Niobe has her confessions, I have commented anonymously there; it’s the rule.) Even when I have disagreed with a blog author, I have simply stated my opinion, without calling anyone names, and without hiding behind the “anonymous” button on the comment page.

I also have never had a troll. I am a little, itty bitty mostly-mommy blog. I probably know (virtually or otherwise) everyone who stops by for a visit. I am sure that my daily stats are a mere fraction of Ginny’s. And I’m okay with that. I do this thing for me.

When I was talking to my husband about this last night, he said two things that hit home. One, about the nature of the comments from “UPMSee”, was, “Sounds personal.”

Sounds personal. Someone with a mean streak who doesn’t like Ginny. Coming to her site and making trouble because he/she doesn’t like Ginny, or her husband, or maybe her family. Maybe it’s jealousy; maybe it’s one of the many Pittsburgh people Ginny has — non-anonymously — lambasted on her personal blog. Mayor Lukey? Skippy Skeeve? Probably not one of the big dogs; after all, to be a big dog a certain amount of skin thickener needs to be applied. So, probably a little dog.

A little, mean-tempered dog.

The other thing Dan said that gave me pause was: “Why doesn’t she just delete the comments?”

I think I stuttered something about ‘censorship’ and ‘being fair’ but he just kind of snorted at me. “Come on,” he said. “It’s a personal blog. If someone came to your blog and said something rude about one of our children, you would delete it.”

He turned back to the Penguins’ game. “You media-types,” he said. “You’re too quick to call censorship. When someone’s being nasty [on a blog], you have the right to stop them. Screw ‘em.”

I have to say, I agree with Dan on this one. Here’s why:

1. He’s right; it’s not censorship. “Censorship is the suppression of speech or deletion of communicative material which may be considered objectionable, harmful, sensitive, or inconvenient to the government or media organizations as determined by a censor.”

That’s Church is a personal blog — a very entertaining, funny, and sometimes touching personal blog, in my opinion. It’s not exactly a hotbed of government or media communication. (I hope Ginny doesn’t take offense to that.)

2. As in the case of many trolls, the comments are not this person’s opinion. They are mean, nasty, name-calling comments. Whoever this person is, he/she does not like Ginny, does not like That’s Church, and he/she feels the compulsion to disparage Ginny and her blog and, for some reason, her effort to give something fun to sick kids.

3. The presence of a troll brings everyone else down. While trying to chant the mantra “Don’t feed the troll” sometimes the compulsion to name-call right back is… well, it’s hard to overcome. I am guilty of feeding the troll. Not often, and not a lot. But I have done it. And you know what? The troll likes to be fed.

Here’s what to remember about trolls from classic and popular literature: They are loud, dumb, and smelly. They come to bad ends.

I know that, really, this is none of my business. Whether or not Ginny decides to delete her troll’s comments is completely up to her. But I would love for Ginny to toss out the meanest of UPMSee’s comments, keep the one where he/she promises to give $100 to the fundraiser Ginny has organized for the kids, and get the number of comments on that post to 100. Which will probably happen by the time I post this.

And remember: Don’t feed the troll.

So I was praying super Mario brothers today for the wii, it is abusive I played with my faysebook gf Erin and like the trolls we are, we ended up trying to team kill each other in teh game.

So heres how you TK in Mario other than the obvious:

1) Fire the shell at them while holding it

2) If you run close to em while they are on a ledge you can push em off

3) Use yoshi to eat them when they are slow and fire them at a mob

4) Jump on their heads when they are jumping across a gap

5) Send excessive taunts over while confusing each other (If your mario and weegee) on whos who ( i got confused) and i ended up dying.

6) Always deny the Power ups

7) Bum Smash them on their yoshis.

Just some of what we endured throughout the day. Its a good game i ended up with however 7 conitnues and Erin about 4 :\ so thats 35 + 20 so thats 55 lives wasted and we weren’t even mid way to World 2. But yeah, we are pro Team Killers now all we do is try and kill the other person as much as we can. LUL the mini games that require 2 people are lol, you screw around so badly for your team mates and just hope you pull the wrong card just for lols.

In any case it is a fun game if you can have people co-oping with each other, but trying to get em killed is twice more fun lols.

Vampire The Masquerade – Bloodlines

There’s this one vampire clan called Malkavians, where their blood contain some unique powers in it, but as a result, they have an incurable insanity problem.. Their thinking patterns are very much extraordinary… eg. one would want to “think outside the box”. For Malkavians, where’s the cardboard cube?. I LUV IT!!

Here’s a few screens that I found that made me go “I never thought about it like that before”.

With the eyes of my retarded brain.. these dialogues are a work of art. To be connected to weirdness with an attachment of a hint of bubble tea, it’s heavenly tasty. I wish I could reach the cosmos in prayer that one day.. I meet someone like this just because the jellyfish will it so.

Just incase people didnt realise… EVERY possible reply dialogue actually continues the convo.. ie. a true reply to what the dudes said. Other than the reply to Nines… the story behind it is that Nines saves you n then suddenly… WAI HALLO THAR I NINES U? COOL STORY BRO!

Well since my good friend Marck aka The Collective Troll had not posted since the 13th of this month, i taught why not shoot him an email to make sure he was alright….. but i never got an answer…. which is really werid because he pretty good about answering the emails i sent him almost daily… Well i go to the mailbox and there a package there for me from him, yay! On the back it had his number and siad to text him which i did…. He wanted to let ya’ll know that he alright and will be back in a week or two…. He also said to keep it real in the blog-o-sphere which all of ya’ll that know the don it doesn’t get any realer than that! And that he missed everyone…. So the Troll is alive again and you heard it here first… Troll we miss you too buddy, hurry back miss reading your long posts!!!

Avant de nous lancer dans une étude sommaire de la vie et des habitudes du troll, il faut tout d’abord rappeler à notre lectorat ce qu’il est et quelles sont les origines de ce mot.
Dans la mythologie nordique, le troll est un personnage aux allures gigantesques mais aux intentions peu belliqueuses, tant sa naïveté et sa bêtise étaient proportionnelles à sa taille ; le troll a ensuite changé par le biais de la christianisation de la Scandinavie, pour devenir un petit personnage laid et malsain aux intentions très agressives car représentant Satan.
Et oui, rien que ça. On sent déjà, à ce niveau, que la réputation du troll est sérieusement entachée…
Ce terme a été transposé aux communications internet, et signifie, grossièrement, toute personne, sous couvert généralement (mais pas seulement) d’anonymat, venant poster des commentaires sans aucun rapport avec le sujet abordé initialement, ayant tendance à être agressif, voire grossier ou même vulgaire, et ne supportant pas la moindre contrariété, d’autant que dans la majorité des cas, les arguments développés par le dit troll sont insipides, sans fondements et plats comme la douce terre des Pays-Bas (1)(2) .
Le troll peut aussi, dans les cas les plus intellectuellement évolués, fournir des diatribes fondées sur des discours tout prêts, servant uniquement à la provocation pure et simple.
Même dans ce cas précis, alors que l’on peut presque se demander si le troll ne pourrait pas faire autre chose que du copié/collé, tant les textes provocateurs qu’il déverse sur les forums nécessitent un minimum de compréhension, on se rend vite compte des capacités intellectuelles très limités du troll, car sa réflexion est nulle et se borne à se dire « Putain, j’vais les emmerder jusqu’au bout ! ».
Développons maintenant rapidement l’aspect sociologique du troll.
Le troll se lève tôt.
Il a un petit boulot, où son supérieur hiérarchique le méprise.
Son salaire, pas forcément minable, ne peut néanmoins lui permettre de faire les rêves les plus fous, et de fait, il envie celles et ceux qui arrivent, par volonté (ce qu’il n’a pas), à concrétiser leurs envies, et surtout, pire que tout pour lui, à partager leur bonheur.
Le troll ne supporte pas le bonheur, les sourires, les rires, les enfants, les animaux, les personnes âgées, les politiciens, le soleil et la pluie, les fleurs, le bruit et le silence… Bref, le troll ne supporte rien. D’ailleurs, il ne se supporte plus lui-même.
Le troll, quand il a eu l’extrême chance de trouver femme qui veuille bien de lui (car le troll est très souvent masculin), regarde sa douce et tendre comme étant un problème à son émancipation, si tant est qu’il ait la moindre idée de ce qui pourrait lui être bénéfique.
Le troll, avec qui la dite femme a eu la curieuse idée de faire des enfants, regardent ses gamins comme des perturbateurs d’une vie simple, l’empêchant de regarder TF1 comme il le voudrait.
Le troll n’a pas d’activités associatives ou culturelles dignes de ce nom, tant le monde lui apparaît comme médiocre au vu de ses propres capacités intellectuelles forcément sous-estimées par une société qui ne le comprend pas.
Parfois le troll se retrouve le soir dans des bars glauques où, après s’être enfilé trois ou quatre bières, ses arguments appris par cœur ressortent naturellement et avec une énergie presque pitoyable, au point qu’il serait capable de se mettre sur la gueule avec les 45 autres clients du bar, histoire de dire « J’ai défendu mes idées » ; seul bémol, le troll n’a pas d’idées, et les quatre bières n’ont pas arrangé les choses…
Le troll n’est, en fait, qu’un anonyme frustré, voulant à tout prix de faire entendre.
Il pollue donc les forums, simplement pour avoir l’impression d’exister.

Devant ce type d’individu (d’entité, devrais-je dire, étant donné l’anonymat du personnage), plusieurs réactions peuvent être adoptées.
L’indifférence totale : on oublie le troll, ses discours, ses arguments, et on le laisse cracher son venin, en sachant que, de toute façon, ce qu’il dit n’apporte strictement rien de constructif.
J’avoue avoir de l’admiration pour celles et ceux qui parviennent à cette indifférence.
La lutte : on s’attaque ouvertement au troll, sachant que toute façon, la bataille est gagnée d’avance, tant les capacités intellectuelles du troll sont pauvres ; on devine que, tôt ou tard, le petit troll se retrouvera le bec dans l’eau, et, suprême bonheur, n’aura plus pour défense que des insultes bien senties, n’ayant rien d’autre à répondre ; et là, l’orgueil prenant le dessus, on se sent soudainement tel le preux chevalier ayant vaincu l’affreux dragon : détenteur du pouvoir de vaincre l’injustice et la bêtise humaine.
Mais hélas, le troll est tenace, et surtout très bête.
Il insiste. Il confirme sa stupidité. Il continue, coûte que coûte, à asséner ses vérités à deux balles, même s’il sent le vent tourner, même s’il se rend compte, quand ses neurones sont susceptibles de fournir une réflexion construite, que son combat est vain et qu’il passe ouvertement pour un abruti fini.
Je ne sais pas quelle attitude avoir face à ce genre de petit virus.
Les ignorer est une bien belle chose, que j’admire, je le répète, mais il faut aussi poser des limites.
Laisser le troll polluer le forum que l’on aime à parcourir est une façon de faire que j’admets de moins en moins facilement.
Tout en sachant que je ne parviendrai pas forcément à clouer le bec au troll, il m’arrive encore de me dire que, par lassitude, le troll abandonnera et ira polluer d’autres forums.
C’est rare, mais cela arrive.

Ce qu’il y a de plus pathétique, c’est que ces trolls, tellement courageux derrière leurs petits claviers, n’oseraient même pas dire le quart de la moitié de ce qu’ils écrivent en face d’un de leurs lecteurs, aussi chétif soit-il…

… har spenderats hos Åjjs. Vi tog sovmorgon ihop, sov till 9 ungefär. Slängde ut djävulskatten igår vid 01.30 ungefär. Låg och pratade lite, Åjjs pratade med Gute-Pöjken sin (som var full i hågen nere på öjn) och sen slocknade vi båda två i den stora härliga sängen…

Vi ska snart bege oss mot mina kvarter, där jag skall byta till mina underbara läder-Convisar och en skön stor tröja! Därefter ska vi ta våra härliga humör och invadera Kaaarins karl. Jag ska kela med Alice (ormen) och så ska vi ta och se lite film och mysa. Ska bli spännande att se hur den vuxna karln bor och vad han har för smak vad gäller inredning… Hahaha! Så vuxet det lät, nå, döm mig icke och jag skall icke vara fördömande!

Juste, jag och Åjjs när vi gick upp imorse, vi var troll båda två – värsta barret i världshistorien! Jag har lagt i två liter balsam (skrev först kilo, men inte mäter man väl balsam i den enheten?!?) och försökt reda ut skiten – men lönlöst… Den enda lösningen jag kan se är saxen…

There is a new adage.  Never put anything on the internet you don’t want other people to see.  It’s good advice.  That picture from your college days where you streaked across campus?  Yes, I’m talking to you!  Not a good idea to claim on Facebook.  Or MySpace.  Or whatever your favorite social networking site may be.

But what about those pictures you don’t mind sharing, but someone else takes as offensive?  Or the comment you leave on someone else’s photo?  Just how “careful” do you have to be on the web?

The answer is, extremely careful or extremely thick skinned.

Let’s say that you went to Europe on a dream vacation, one you’d been saving up for years to go on.  It took you all over the old country, including Ireland, Italy and France.  And, as long as we’re dreaming, let’s say while in Dublin you go to the Shangri-La of Stout, the Guinness Brewery.  Now my attitudes on beer are fairly well known, so maybe I’m not unbiased.  But let’s face it, when in Rome and all that.

Now that we are on this mythical trip, and we’ve gone to the wonderful world of the chewy beer, can you really imagine not getting a pint at the end of the tour?  I mean really, they advertise their pubs based on the distance to this brewery.  Could you honestly not hoist a pint, even if just to hoist it?  Few of us could.

And isn’t that an absolute natural picture?  Hey, look!  I really did go to Ireland, and yes, I really did hoist a pint of that dark creamy goodness!  See!

But don’t put that on your Facebook.  Because your employer may find it and use it against you.  And that’s EXACTLY what happened to Ashley Payne.

Ashley Payne taught in Barrow County, Ga until this past August, when the principal called her into the office to discuss the photos.  Ashley went to Ireland, France and Italy.  While there, she had a few pictures taken of her with a beer at Guinness, a glass of wine in Italy and France.  She was told she should resign and that they would be bringing her up for suspension and possible firing.  She resigned.  Now she’s suing to get her job back.

There are a lot of legal aspects to this, including her mistaken resignation.  But the point remains, she should never have been called into the principal’s office to begin with.  She didn’t have a picture taken with students.  She wasn’t on a school trip and she wasn’t really doing anything untoward.  Her Facebook page is private and the pictures were only shared with people she approved.  But one of those people violated her trust and shared it with the principal, and the only reason to do that was to get her in trouble.

She even went on the trip with other teachers, some of whom had pictures on public pages doing the same thing.  But they didn’t get called into the principal’s office.

This brings up an interesting point to me.  I’m pretty open on Facebook and Twitter.  And I’m extremely open here in this blog.  My family is always getting on to me about how open I am, and a cute event happened the other night and my son told me “You better not blog this” which is killing me.  First that a six year old knows what a blog is, and second… it really was cute.  But I’ll respect his wish.

I’m also involved in a few volunteer activities, and a job hunt, that the people I volunteer with and my potential employers may be looking either here or on my Facebook account.  In fact, the second I post this, Twitter will broadcast that the post has been made, and Facebook will too.

Some of my friends are ministers or CEO’s or managers.  I’ve had those types of friends comment to me personally about my posts or status messages.  I asked them why they don’t leave me a comment online, and the response is the same.  Because they are afraid that an employee or church member will read their comment, take it out of context and use it against them.

So the Facebook Police are watching you.  But they aren’t working for Facebook.  Instead, they are your friends and neighbors, co-workers and employers and any one of them may try and use something you’ve written against you in the future.  It’s a chilling thought, that someone would take an innocent comment between friends and use it to hurt you.  In effect, it is worse than government censorship.  How do you complain that “Susan” read something you really did write, but is using it totally out of context to hurt you?

There are only two reasons I can think of that someone would do this.  Either they really are taking it out of context, because perhaps they are catching a conversation between two people who have a history and are talking in “friend code” to each other, and they are offended.  The other is that they know they are taking it out of context and are really trying to hurt you.

The later is just despicable.  If you’re really out to hurt someone, looking for dirt to bring up for the express purpose of hurting another, then you are among the lowest life forms I can think of.  And it’s one thing if you take something I write or post for public consumption and try and twist it into something hurtful.  I mean, I put it out there for everyone to read, and if I offend you then there is the chance that I intended to offend you.  So we should be able to dialog about it and see where we agree and disagree.  But to use it to hurt me?  Come on and grow up.

The other, where it wasn’t really a public post but a discussion between friends, is worse.  Friends do talk in code, and there may be a level or meaning you don’t understand about what is being said.  Then, not only are you taking it out of context, but you are misunderstanding too.

In either case, the intentional goal of hurting someone is low.  It’s one thing to snark, but another thing altogether to go after someone and hurt them.  If you disagree, have the guts to stand up and say so.  Don’t sneak around collecting posts and messages just to “build a case” and then take it to someone else.  Bring it up to ME and let’s work it out.

I know the Facebook police are out there.  I know that there are people reading my posts and my status messages just hoping I or one of my friends will say something they can use against me.  I know people are reading my posts and liking them, but refusing to comment because of those people.  And I know I say and post things just to get a rise out of people.  It’s who I am.

So if you don’t like what I said, tell me or please shut up.  And don’t use my conversations with my friends to hurt them.  Because I will call you out on it.  I wish this meant that more people would comment, but I’m not that naive.  I know that other people are less likely to take the hassle of standing up for something as insignificant as social media.  But hey, right now I have nothing better to be doing.

So game on!  I’ve decided I’m not going to self censor at a higher level online than what I would offline.  If I’m not willing to say it to your face, I’m not going to post about it here.  But I’m not going to hold my online writing to a higher standard than my personal life.  At least, not on a personal blog.  I’ve got a journalistic blog as well, and over there I will hold myself to journalist levels of writing (which, btw, is pretty freaking low right now).  But I’m not going to censor myself because someone out there is out to get me.  One, because I don’t want to give in to that paranoia.  And two, cause hey!  It’ll make for some fun blog posts.
