Reasons why today is a damn fine day to be alive:

-Despite not sleeping (again…damnit!) last night, I feel surprisingly okay. I didn’t sleep, not because I couldn’t…rather, it was because the wind was literally howling so loudly that it was causing the trash can lids in the alleyway to crash unceremoniously. Every time I tried to sleep, I’d hear a loud crash and the windows would shake. And Cleo also was freaked out and meowing for most of tonight. The wind is really blowing…still.

-To make good use of my non-sleeping, I watched two movies last night: “Trust the Man” and “God Grew Tired of Us.” The former wasn’t as bad as I feared, and the latter was freakin’ awesome. Highly recommend.

-I also downloaded more music from The Be Good Tanyas.

-Me and Kitten Little got some important snuggle time in. And, due to this, she has spent the morning on the ottoman–winking at me and being adorably sweet. She missed her Mama.

-Bills are paid for another month.

-I did an hour of kickboxing with crutches (which is a really good workout) and an hour of weight lifting/strength stuff–by 8 am.

-Something besides my knee hurts, in that good way that means I burned some fat and not in that really ouchy way that comes with being injured. Discomfort=progress.

-I have not lost any weight, but I haven’t gained anything either. Overall, I feel tighter…and that was just by really focusing on my diet and slacking a bit on exercise.

-Exercise really makes a huge difference in my energy level and overall mood.

-I really feel like I’m retraining my brain in terms of how I view food. I’m as satisfied by healthy options as those “bad” options…and I’m learning how to eat the bad stuff without highjacking my whole day.

-Whole almonds are my new best friends.

-I’ve drank 10 glasses of water already today. I think I’ve been a little dehydrated.

-I’ve ate half my daily goal of protein already. I am so proud of myself for this because it’s the most challenging thing for me, diet-wise.

-I took my vitamins!

-I think getting up early is the way to go to help me stay motivated for exercising. It sets a good tone for the day, and I’m more motivated to stick to my goals.

-I had a great time watching Good Morning, America this morning. I love the camaraderie (sp?) of the news personalities. They made me laugh out loud over mac and cheese. They’re energetic without being annoying and saccharine.

-I even like Rachael Ray…she is a little too chipper, but she seems genuinely happy and not fake like a lot of talk show hosts.

-I now have the entire day to do whatever I want. Rad.

-And I have the best boyfriend in the whole world.

Life is grand.

Parejas (Trust The Man). Así se llama la película que acabo de ver. ¿Sabe que? Me gustó. Buena buena buena. De esas que se agradecen ver en un lunes feriado.

La historia de parejas, trata sobre la vida de dos parejas de amigos que viven en la siempre cool New York. Tom (David Duchovny) y Rebecca (Julianne Moore), un matrimonio con dos hijos; él es un publicista que renuncia a su trabajo y se dedica a cuidar a sus hijos, y ella una famosilla actriz de cine y teatro. Ellos pasan por una crisis básicamente por la falta de sexo, así que mi socio Tom, mira para al lado.

La otra pareja, son Tobey (Billy Crudup) e Elaine (Maggie Gyllenhaal -¿se acuerdan de “la secretaria”?, si, es ella misma-), una pareja que convive desde hace siete años. La crisis de ellos pasa porque él, tobey no es capaz de asumir responsabilidades y yada yada yada.

Créanme, la película es bien interesante y divertida, al más estilo Friends, con buenos diálogos y tallas precisas, que siempre se agradecen, y momentos clichés como toda buena comedia romántica.

Así que señora señor, vaya a su club de video favorita y arriéndela (o en su defecto descárguela ilegalmente desde Internet), créame, me lo agradecerá.

I watched TRUST THE MAN again tonight. I totally love that movie. I just come to the realization that there are few people I want to share the stories of this world with.

I hope Heidi goes up north to shoot on October 4th.
