In my hunt for voter-generated content that was made in support of John McCain, I found a few homemade videos, but they weren’t exactly singing the praises of the republican presidential candidate.

For example, I found is this fake BlackBerry ad, which I originally thought was a homemade video in which a voter tried to give McCain a hip, techie-inspired edge by tossing in images of the popular smartphones. Alas, this mocking ad was inspired by a comment made by McCain’s campaign about how he invented the BlackBerry, and ends with, “John McCain: Like tech support for very stupid people.”

Other videos weren’t cleverly tied to commercials but instead focused on controversial issues, such as this one, which hightlights the senator’s involvement in the Keating Five scandal.  The video’s creator (nicknamed Sneaky, according to YouTube) likens that poor judgement to McCain’s inability to lead as president:

And this one wasn’t exactly as will.i.am’s “Yes We Can” video:

VGC #1: After a little more digging, I came across keepthatfaith.com, a place where McCain supporters can go to snag graphics for their blogs, such as this one, which cracks me up:

I also liked this bipartisan video, which demonstrates the pride with which we wear our political viewpoints.

But it seemed that Barack Obama spporters are just more abundant in number, more tech-savvy, or more creative when it comes to ways to support their candidate.

VGC #2: Nothing like a little Halloween holiday spirit to got the vote out! YesWeCarve.com shows photos people have taken of their Obama-inspired, carved pumpkins, along with stencils that anyone can use to make their own Barack O’Lanterns in support of the democratic presidential candidate.

My favorite stencil is designed for Republicans who support Obama, or as Barack likes to call them, “Obamacans.”

VGC #3: Finally, I really liked some mosaics of Barack Obama that were posted on Flickr by a user who goes by the name, “tsevis.” This first one mosaic is made of hundreds of tiny, individual photos of people supporting Obama:

And this mosaic of Obama is made using flags from every state in the USA:

According to the profile of tsevis, he isn’t am American citizen, but it’s pretty inspiring to see the creative energy that he put into supporting Obama.

L’immagine che vedete qui sopra è stata realizzata dall’artista Charis Tsevis per l’articolo “The Trouble With Steve Jobs“, pubblicato qualche tempo fa dalla rivista americana Fortune. Per chi non se ne fosse accorto, l’immagine è interamente costituita di prodotti Apple ed è pure stata “aggiornata” per includere le ultime novità presentate da Steve Jobs al MacWorld 2008. Inutile precisare che l’artista ha realizzato quest’opera su un Mac!

Su Flickr si trovano numerose altre opere realizzate da Tsevis con la stessa tecnica. Oltre a diverse versioni di Steve Jobs, tratte dalle foto più famose, troviamo anche un ritratto di Barack Obama. Per realizzare queste immagini l’artista usa alcuni script creati personalmente con Synthetik Studio Artist, e programmi come Adobe Photoshop e Apple QuickTime Pro.

La prima immagine della serie “Steve Jobs” è quella che vedete qui sopra ed in origine era stata creata per un Mac Magazine greco che però non l’ha mai pubblicata. Su Flickr è poi stata notata dal direttore della rivista spagnola ABC, ed è stata linkata da più di 50 blog . L’autore dell’articolo che l’immagine avrebbe dovuto illustrare in origine, l’ha poi scelta per la copertina del proprio libro su Steve Jobs. La popolarità riscossa da Tsevis cn questa immagine lo ha spinto a realizzarne altre, fino ad arrivare al ritratto pubblicato da Fortune.
