I’ve watched a bunch of videos and stuff in the past few days, but the internet was being a bitch so I didn’t bother trying to write about them >.> But it’s all better now! But may I just say that Momusu’s new Yomiuri Land DVD is amazing, and any non-fan who watches it and still doesn’t like MM must be seriously crazy?

So as you can see I have a new header. My blog wasn’t anywhere near pink and sparkly enough I don’t know how to do sparkles, but it’s certainly pink. EDIT: I worked out how to do sparkles, now it’s perfectly shiny! Honestly, I made the Berryz thing I had before with absolutely no inspiration, and I just wanted to get something up there so I could start writing. I’ve been wanting a Nono header for a while though, so… there it is. And just who doesn’t love Nono? You tell me.

And I’m currently downloading another AKB stage. Am I crazy? I dunno. All I know is it only has one seeder so it will take freaking weeks, man.

Okay, so I went shopping yesterday with my mom and I found this super-cute headband with a big black bow on it so I just had to buy it and I did!

It’s New Year’s Eve!

Well, another year has come and gone and we shall enter 2010 in a few hours!

So exciting!! v(^o^)v

Because it’s the end of the year, hear are my personal highlights of this year:

- Becoming a Johnny’s Entertainment fan

- Falling in love with Koyama Keiichiro

- Watching over 30 J-Dramas

- Reviving as a fanfictionist

- Meeting Kago Ai

- Getting my braces off

- Email-exchanging with my awesome penpal Tomomi

- Earning straight A’s for the first marking period as a sophmore

- Singing range changed drastically

- Singing in front of some school students during the Diversity Day festival

- Release of NEWS’s “Koi no ABO” on MY birthday

And…I think of more but I can’t. xDDD;;

Now time for my resolutions:

- Become a bit more adult-like

- Exemption from any finals besides Japanese

- Pass driver’s exam (safely) for learner’s permit

- Keep smiling happily everyday

Okay first of all an explanation. I’d been looking to find a subbed version of W’s excellent Koi no Vacance single and couldn’t find one anywhere. I’d also been wondering recently how hard it is to add subtitles to a video. You can see where this is leading. I have to admit I suck. I tried several different programmes and simply couldn’t work out how to add a second set of subs. So there’s no romaji. Yes this is horrendously basic. At the same time having ripped the pv myself from my dvd of W’s early pv collection W no Eizo no Sekai Vol. 1 the quality of picture is good.

Anyway I was going to keep the pv sub to myself. It’s hardly up to a subbing groups standards. I don’t think H!F have anything to worry about from me. But then I realised that my next blog post would be my 350th. I’ve also recently just passed the 250,000 hits mark (mainly because of people arriving here looking for something entirely different to what they found no doubt). I’d like to celebrate with my thoughts on C-ute’s Alo-Hello pb but Yes-you’ll-get-it-eventually-Asia haven’t sent it yet. I could also have celebrated with my thoughts on my first ever Junjun t-shirt but sadly the slip came through the letterbox today telling me it’ll be delivered when the customs charge has been paid. Bloody Government. If they can show me somewhere in the UK where I can buy a Junjun shirt I’d happily keep the money in this country. So instead I figured this would make a good 350th post. And so ladies, gentlemen…and miscellaneous I present you with a very basic sub of a great song and pv. You can direct download here or here if you wish. And to be honest I was hoping to sub something of Mano’s instead but couldn’t find any translations for her songs. I really like the cover since it does a good job of showing us the mature (still big bow-wearing) Tsuji we all know, and a clear view of her wedding ring which is a great way to show her happy marriage on the cover. The cover also has a picture of (most of) Noa, her daughter, and even though she doesn’t show her face it is great to see that she was included with her mom.

For the most part the book looks great, there are clear references to her fashion career and her family, and their is even a chapter about her blog which sounds interesting.

The book looks like a great read, so I strongly encourage those who can read Japanese to buy a copy when it is released in November (according to the site).

Tsuji Nozomi will start releasing “relax wear” clothes that she designed at the official Ameba Blog celebrity shop. If you know Tsuji then you probably know that the clothes is going to have some sort of cute pattern on it:

The clothes actually looks good (on Tsuji), and I somewhat like the cute touches she added to it: bows on the front pockets, hearts on the pant leg, a big heart on the hoodie, and many more.

I’m glad to see that Tsuji is doing some stuff apart from singing and that she is designing for a more broader audience apart from babies.

Hopefully these clothes sell well enough to convince her to design more clothes.

Remember the show I blogged about a little while ago? The one where Yuko, Nacchi, Kaori, Kei, Yaguchi, Tsuji, Ai and Risa sat around eating and talking? Well if you don’t look at this post here. Anyway the full version (just over an hour long) has now been subbed and is available for download here. Thank you HPS. This was one of the most enjoyable tv shows I’ve seen Morning Musume do. If you are a fan of the older members you simply must watch it. Basically for the first 45 minutes or so we get to see them speak frankly about their time in the group. They talk of arguments and ill health. They talk of being poor and hard work. But through it all there’s so much love between them that it’s just a great show to watch. The bond between the members even now is proof of how great a group Morning Musume were and indeed still are. We also get a good history lesson of the group’s evolution (pretty much solely concentrating on the members present) with lots of fun clips from back in the day. Then for the final 15 minutes or so Ai and Risa turn up and they sit around and eat. During that time we get to see the little home made movie each girl made showing off something in their lives relating to Morning Musume. Yuko’s shelf full of stuff is great. Oh and we get to see Nacchi cry and then Ai-chan too. Watching it unsubbed I’d wondered what Lovely was crying for. Now having watched it subbed I’m wondering what Lovely was crying for.

Seriously this show is as touching a celebration of Morning Musume as you will ever see. Plus the hosts are really funny and there’s even a few classic Utaban clips thrown in. So like I said if you’re a fan of the older members watch it. But even if you’re not well watch it anyway. You get Ai and Risa but more importantly you get to see the people who made MM just so successful in the first place. Because without these older members there would be no Morning Musume. In fact there might not be any Berryz Kobo, C-ute, Buono, etc. Recently many fans had the pleasure of seeing Morning Musume play in LA. It’s thanks to the likes of Yuko, Kaori, Nacchi, Yaguchi, etc that there was a group in the first place. So watch and enjoy. It’s funny, moving, funny some more and above all it’s a great celebration of the members skill, hard work and determination. Of all the things I’ve seen subbed this is right up there with the best of them. From a fans point of view it’s like a celebration of that which we hold dear. It’s wonderful!

Another interesting tv show here. Yuko, Nacchi, Kaori, Yaguchi, Yasuda and Tsuji on some tv show with Ai-chan and Niigaki. They sit around and eat (I’m saying nothing) and then there’s some interesting clips of the OG members looking at items they own relevant to their time in Morning Musume. This show is available from Musume-Central. There’s also a full version of the show at the tracker on Hello!Online. The version I’m reviewing is a 15 minute segment of the show (it turns out).

So this section of the show starts with the OG already seated and Ai-chan and Niigaki turning up…

Other than the hair they haven’t changed too much in eight years have they? Takahashi especially. Niigaki filled her face out nicely though. Or should that be she filled out her little thin head?

After that introduction there’s some sitting around and talking…

Kaori looks older but still very attractive. Tsuji looks really pretty. I just wish she’d lose that bow. Although I never really found her attractive in MM she has grown into herself really and looks better with a few years on her. She needs to lose the cutesie aspects though. Otherwise she’ll be a whatever happened to Baby Jane 70 year old one day.

Anyway onto why we’re really here. This is a Japanese tv show right? Well the two hosts seem to be dressed as chefs, so food…

Niigaki jumps around in excitement at the food. Everyone reacts in joy and then they all sit down and start drinking alcohol. Except Niigaki and Ai who, although they are old enough to drink alcohol, presumably have an idol image to maintain and so they stick to juice. Go Kaori though. Guinness girl! I have one of those Guinness glasses. *Nods* That’s irrelevant but it amuses me to see her drinking the black stuff. I wonder how much lager Yaguchi needs to drink to get pissed? I mean she’s only small. Does it take less than with a bigger person? Personally I think it’d be great to see a tv show where we find out. Never mind food lets see the Musume OG get paralytic. Actually what we get instead here is a few clips of the members present graduating. So we get Yuko…

Huh? Well okay they put a caption up saying she graduated 14th April 2005 but why they used some teary clip from three years earlier I’m not sure. I guess they felt they had to show something.

Anyway now for what I think is the interesting bit. The OG members through some pre-filmed segments show off some items that relate to their MM days.

Kaori shows off some watch. I’m not sure of the significance though. She does mention Tsunku however so maybe it was a gift?…

Anyway onto Kei and she shows something that is surely as much a reminder of her Utaban appearances as anything else…

Okay it’s a toy dog. Maybe these items aren’t necessarily about MM? Also Nacchi was very kawaii but that was still bizarre and somewhat strange. Funny though.

So Tsuji. Her items are…

Scripts (including Help the musical) and a baby’s foot. I have no idea why she decided to film herself while covered in two…face cleansing pads?

I’m now really interested in where these clips were filmed. Some, like Tsuji’s are self-shot. If they were shot where the girls live than I like Yaguchi’s place. Little sexy beam has a big pad…

Anyway onto the final clip. Yuko’s…

Yuko’s a wota. She has a shelf full of stuff. I guess these were filmed at their homes then. I like the pic of Yuko kissing Yaguchi. Also she has the early singles boxset. I don’t even have that. Well not yet anyway. And how cool is the signed MM single as a birthday present? Plus check out all the other cd’s including the Ongaku Gatas album. I think it’s clear that Yuko’s time in MM and in H!P means a lot to her. Just another reason to like her.

After those clips Nacchi is crying. Fond memories I guess…

Then after some more chat there’s this longshot where you can see who drinks the quickest. I think it’s a tie between Yaguchi and Yuko. I’d give the result to Yaguchi due to her diminutive size though…

Then there’s more chat and if Nacchi is crying then there’s no way Lovely won’t rise to the occasion…

And then the show ends. Umm…I adore Cry-chan. She’s my favourite Musume past or present. But she is starting to worry me now with the amount of crying she does. Okay so her heart on sleeve nature is part of what I like about her. She seems to have this really sweet and friendly openness to her. But even so she seems to cry an awful lot. I hope it isn’t a sign of some unhappiness deep down.

Anyway that was interesting to watch. I’d love to see it subbed. I’d love to know what the OG were saying during their individual clips. Even unsubbed though it’s curiously gratifying to see the ex-members so emotionally attached to MM items and to their time together. Yaguchi’s Love Machine set and Yuko’s collection were especially great to see. It’s good to know they all enjoyed their time in MM and H!P. It’s clear bonds were made there that will not be broken. Which makes this an unexpected but really enjoyable bit of H!P tv gold.

On a side note here is a picture taken on the day of the recording. It seems most of the current Morning Musume were there. Only Koharu and Mitsui seemingly missing…

I’m going to try to compile the latest H!P news. Some of this is a few days (maybe even weeks?) old, but better safe than sorry! First up Nono -

Nono and Mos Burger

In recent news, Tsuji is promoting the new Mos Burger “Wai Wai” kids set, the Mos Burger version of a McD’s Happy Meal for 440 yen.While posing with the Mos Burger mascot Mossan, she make a joking suggestion of her own idea for a new addition to the Mos menu:

“What about a burger you roll up and skewer like a dango?” Laughing, she immediately retracted with, “Wait no, nevermind.”

Mos Burger is one of the many native burger chains here in Japan, alongside First Kitchen, Freshness Burger, Lotteria, Becker’s, and of course the usual American staples: Wendy’s, McDonald’s, Burger King, and even Subway (no burgers there!). Mos is arguably the most popular, as the food ordered there is prepared when the order is placed, making it fresh and hot.

Maki Goto releases 1st mini album

Maki Goto will finally be getting her first physical release on avex, after being with the company for over one year. It will be released under the “SWEET BLACK” name on September 16th. The mini album will reportedly include 8 songs, 4 pvs, a deluxe booklet, and a mini drama.

Rika Ishikawa to tango with Marcia in upcoming musical

Singer, model and actress Riki Ishikawa, 24, formerly of girl group Morning Musume, is set to perform with singer-actress Marcia, 40, in their upcoming stage musical “Opera do Malandro Rio de Janeiro 1941.”

Set in 1940s Brazil, Ishikawa plays Ludmila – a young hottie from a well-to-do family who returns to Rio. She tries to court the affections of Max Overseas – a big-time pimp and smuggler – played by actor Tetsuya Bessho, 43.

Marcia, herself of Brazilian descent, plays Margot – a cabaret singer and prostitute who is in love with Max Overseas – and finds herself competing with the young Ludmila.

Bessho said at the press event held in Tokyo: “Seeing the girls fight over me on stage is just awesome. I urge everyone to come check it out.”

Ishikawa said: “I’ve worked with Marcia on stage once before, but if I hadn’t, I think I’d be scared,” to which Marica replied tongue-in-cheek: “You are the scary one.”

“Opera do Malandro” will be performed at the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Space in Ikebukuro from July 25 to Aug 2.

The lineups for the “revival groups” in Hello! Project’s summer shuffle album have been revealed!  Now I’m about 89342 times more excited to get the album and see it live!  (Ftw, bought my ticket!  I’m sooooooo excited!!)

First, the new Aa!:

Natsuyaki Miyabi, Suzuki Airi, and Saho Akari

I’m a little upset seeing as the original Aa! is still all in Hello! Project, so I’m not too sure why they left Reina out, but I don’t like Reina anyway, so I’m not too too upset about that, but couldn’t they have picked anyone else?  There’s a reason Saho didn’t make it into S\mileage, and that’s because (in my opinion, and always had been) she was the worst of all the girls in Shugo Chara Egg.  She’s not physically appealing, she can’t sing to save her life, so I’m just wondering why on earth she was put into a group with two of the most talented Hello! Project Kids.  Hm.

The new Minimoni:

Linlin, Fukuda Kanon, Takeuchi Akari, and Miyamoto Karin

Now this, as you know, I am thrilled about!!!!  I adore Minimoni, I adore Linlin, Fukuda Kanon is way adorable, and the other girls don’t totally suck.  Now, often Eggs don’t stick with me (unless they debut like Kanon and Maeda Yuka who is oddly absent from any of these lineups), but Akari stuck out in my mind from the Egg concert, and Karin just joined, right?  I don’t know why, but she caught my attention right away.  Probably because she’s so friggin adorable.  I’m looking forward to this group the most!

The New Pucchimoni:

Nakajima Saki, Hagiwara Mai, and Mano Erina

Ewewewewew NakaSaki.  She can’t sing her way out of a hole, why does she get attention??  Otherwise: Maimaimaimaimaimaimaimaimai!!!!!!!!!  She has been seriously shoved out of the limelight ever since Tokaikko, which really depresses me because I adore her.  She’s my favorite C-ute member.   So I’m kinda hoping she’ll be the Goto Maki of this group.  And then ManoEri~  I don’t think she’s a good soloist at all, but she does well in groups, so I hope this works well for her!

The new ZYX:

Niigaki Risa, Kusumi Koharu, Tsugunaga Momoko, Suudo Maasa, Tokunaga Chinami, Umeda Erika, Carrot Wada Ayaka, and Ogawa Saki

I’m glad to see so many of the original Kids in this group (all minus Megumi and Saki, right?), but I’m not so sure why they made this group so much bigger.  I love love love that Gaki-san’s in it, not so much about Koharu.  I do like Ogawa Saki, she’s very talented, and Dawa makes me laugh.  I like this entire lineup lots and lots minus Koharu.  Who, unfortunately, will  probably ruin it for me.

I was a huge Biyuuden fan and I don’t think anyone can replace them.  The difference between Biyuuden and every other revival group is that the others were all either shuffle groups or subgroups to begin with, but Biyuuden was always a permanent group.  And it’s so so soon after their disbandment, I think it’s inappropriate to “revive” them.  And I think this subgroup hardly does them justice, Junjun or no Junjun.  Of course I’m really excited to see Junjun in this group, but I hate Risako, and Sayumi… oh dear Sayumi.  You know she’s gonna take Charmy’s lines and destroy them too.  Sigh.

And lastly, the new Tanpopo:

Kamei Eri, Mitsui Aika, Kumai Yurina, and Okai Chisato

I wasn’t a huge fan of Tanpopo except for when Aibon was in it, and even then it was kind of blah, but I think this lineup could make me change my mind!!  I adore all of these girls, so I’m super excited to hear and see them!  I hope they do Tanpopo justice (and not that third lineup crap)!!

It’s strange. I wouldn’t have thought Aibon (whose probably not far off this kind of career anyway judging from her pb) or Tsuji would be the kind of girls to have lookalike porn doubles. I wouldn’t have thought they were attractive enough. However sure enough they don’t have porn doubles as these girls look nothing like them. The fact they are actually less attractive (well certainly notTsuji is) is an even bigger surprise.

Now if you’ve been reading my blog for any length of time you’ll know there’s one person I love more than anyone else. Yes Aya. So imagine my joy at finding these. The first one is the best…

The costumes should look familiar after all and even as a non-fan I can recognise a few of them. Finally the other member I saw getting the treatment (and considering the subject matter that really needs rephrasing) was old babyface herself. Yes with Nacchi’s popularity always being so high it was inevitable that she’d get imitated too…

Again it’s more notsumi than Natsumi. Love the costumes though.

Well I guess it shows how popular H!P is/was in Japan. What the girls parodied (which isn’t the right expression but it’ll do) think of it Tsunku only knows. You’ve got to admire the cheek though (and again that needs rephrasing). Plus that Konno one really is good looking. In fact I think she’s the best looking of the lot of them. Ah art imitating life. And I’m sure it is art too. Well people probably spend a lot of time studying it anyway.

Edit: I forgot all about Yo-Yo Sexy Girl Cop. I wonder if there’s an Okada Yui lookalike in it? I love how most sites that sell it erroneously state Rika is in it.

To audition, you will need some kind of recording program. **Videos sent over youtube are not allowed** The audition needs to be in either mp3 or ogg form. **.Wav files will, under no circumstances, be accepted.** If you need help with that, I’m more than willing. You must send in a full Japanese song. There must be background music, whether it’s the official karaoke or a self-made one (which I can make for you). Also, do not edit the file in any way, meaning no effects whatsoever (i.e.- noise removal, reverb, phaser, etc). If you have read these rules, in the part of the form that asks “apple?”, respond “banana.” The only way your audition will not be accepted is if that area is not filled out correctly.

**PLEASE NOTE IF YOU AUDITION: Mignon! Project is NOT like youtube dubbing groups. We operate outside of youtube. Not all of our songs go up on youtube either. You will not be cast to a specific Hello! Project group as a certain person (unless you get into Kawaii’iro Seishun-tai, as they’re the only group that assigns H!P girls). Our groups generally do music by one artist, but it changes as does who sings what part. Often you aren’t even assigned parts and we use arrangements of lyrics.
