BIOGRAPHY:

Tupac Amaru Shakur was born in the East Harlem section of Manhattan in New York City.[12] He was named after Túpac Amaru II,[13] a Peruvian revolutionary who led an indigenous uprising against Spain and was subsequently executed. His mother, Afeni Shakur, was an active member of the Black Panther Party in New York in the late 1960s and early 1970s; Shakur was born just one month after her acquittal on more than 150 charges of “Conspiracy against the United States government and New York landmarks” in the New York Panther 21 court case.[14] Although unconfirmed by the Shakur family, several sources list his birth name as either “Parish Lesane Crooks” or “Lesane Parish Crooks”.[15] Afeni feared her enemies would attack her son, and disguised their relation using a different last name, only to change it three months or a year later, following her marriage to Mutulu Shakur.

Struggle and incarceration surrounded Shakur from an early age. His godfather, Elmer “Geronimo” Pratt, a high ranking Black Panther, was convicted of murdering a school teacher during a 1968 robbery, although his sentence was later overturned. His stepfather, Mutulu, spent four years at large on the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list beginning in 1982, when Shakur was a pre-teen. Mutulu was wanted in part for having helped his sister Assata Shakur (also known as Joanne Chesimard) to escape from a penitentiary in New Jersey, where she had been incarcerated for allegedly shooting a state trooper to death in 1973. Mutulu was caught in 1986 and imprisoned for the robbery of a Brinks armored truck in which two police officers and a guard were killed.[16] Shakur had a half-sister, Sekyiwa, two years his junior, and an older stepbrother, Mopreme “Komani” Shakur, who appeared on many of his recordings.

At the age of twelve, Shakur enrolled in Harlem’s 127th Street Ensemble and was cast as the Travis Younger character in the play A Raisin in the Sun, which was performed at the famous Apollo Theater. In 1986, the family relocated to Baltimore, Maryland.[17] After completing his second year at Paul Laurence Dunbar High School he transferred to the Baltimore School for the Arts, where he studied acting, poetry, jazz, and ballet. In the documentary Tupac: Resurrection, Shakur says, “Jada is my heart. She will be my friend for my whole life,” and Pinkett Smith calls Shakur “one of my best friends. He was like a brother. It was beyond friendship for us. The type of relationship we had, you only get that once in a lifetime.” A poem written by Shakur titled “Jada” appears in his book, The Rose That Grew From Concrete, which also includes a poem dedicated to Pinkett Smith called “The Tears in Cupid’s Eyes”.

In June 1988, Shakur and his family moved once again, this time to Marin City, California,[17] where he attended Tamalpais High School.[20] Shakur began attending the poetry classes of Leila Steinberg in 1989.[21] In 1989, Steinberg organized a concert with Shakur’s former group, Strictly Dope. The concert led to him being signed with Atron Gregory who set him up with the up-and-coming rap group Digital Underground. In 1990, he was hired as the band’s backup dancer and roadie.[6][7]

If you’ve never watched Juice….trust me.. watch that movie. Once of my favs. Rakim, Tupac, Omar Epps before House! Samuel L and a cast of hip hops greatest make an appearance.

Rakim is a true lyricist. He’s known as the game changer with regards to Hip Hop.

Here are his lyrics to Juice – Know the Ledge.

Sip the juice cuz I got enough to go around,
And the thought takes place uptown
I grew up on the sidewalk where I learned street talk,
And then taught to hawk New York-
I go to Queens for queens to get the crew from Brooklyn,
Make money in Manhattan and never been tooken,
Go Uptown and the Bronx to boogie down,
Get strong on the Island, recoupe, and lay around.
Time to bulid my juice back up-
Props back up, suckers get smacked up
Don’t doubt the clout, you know what I’m about
Knocking .. off, knocking .. out
Shaking em up, waking em up
Raking em up, breaking em up…
Standing on shaky grounds too close to the edge
Let’s see if I know the ledge

Corners’ trifling ’cause shorty’s here
I get cock-d liffin’ forty’s of beer;
Here’s a sip for the crew that’s deceased,
If I get revenge, then they rest in peace.

Somebody’s got to suffer, I just might spare one-
And give a brother a fair one!
Stay alert and on “p’s”.
And I do work with these- like Hercules,
Switch to southpaw, split your right jaw
‘Cause I don’t like y’all, I’m hype when night fall.
Smooth but I move like an army
Bulletproof down in case brothers try to bomb me,
Putting brothers to rest like Elliot ness
‘Cause I don’t like stress
Streets ain’t a place for innocent bystanders to stand
Nutting’s gonna stop the plan
I’ll chill like Pacino, kill like DeNiro
Black Gambino, die like a hero
Living on shaky grounds too close to the edge
Let’s see if I know the ledge!

Shells lay around on the battleground
Dead bodies are found throughout the town.
Tried to put shame in my game to make a name, I’m a
Put it on a bullet, put it in your brain.
Rip the block like a buckshot,
Who cares where it goes, just keep the casket closed,
No remorse when a life is lost
I paid my dues- paid the cost!
…And my pockets are still fat,
Wherever I’m at, I get the welcome mat.
Even if my crew steep with one deep
I attract attention, people like to peep
So come say hi to the badguy
Don’t say goodbye, I don’t plan to die!
‘Cause I get loose and I got troops
And crazy juice!
In control of many like Ayatollah Khomeini
Hang out wit Smith and Wesson, don’t try to play me.
I’m at war alot, like Anwar Sadat..
But no warning shot, my gun is warm alot.
When I cook beef, the smoke will never clear,
Areas in fear but this here’s a fear!
Living life too close to the edge
Hoping that I know the ledge….

A brand new morn, no time to yawn
Shower’s on, power’s on
Late for school, I catch the train
Girls sip “Cristal” and whisper my name
I push up like an exercise,
Check the intellect and inspect the thighs
Select the best one, pull her to the side
Keep her occupied for the rest of the ride
Read my resume she’s know I’m ‘ready cool
Just meet me after school,
We can moan and groan until your mom come home ,
And you be calling me Al “dope” Capone.
Sweatin’ me, she didn’t want to let me loose-
Come get me, that’s if you want to sip the juice
Cause the streets await me, so I take my gun off safety
Cause alot of .. hate me
Coming out of the building, they set me up
Sprayed wit automatics, they wet me up
In a puddle of blood, I lay close to the edge
I guess I didn’t know the ledge…..

This is something that I’ve wanted to talk about for a long time, I’m sure all of you are familiar with the William Lynch letter if not then click here. It was supposedly written to keep blacks in check for centuries. You may also be aware of the conspiracy that HIV/AIDS was in fact intentionally created to kill off minorities Click here. Now whether or not you believe these things to be true we all can agree that these are all conspiracies…right? with that being said let me get to the point, I have a problem with theories such as this for one simple reason regardless of the fact if they are true or not they still set us back! and here’s why. I know to many people who will act the way they’ve been told to. meaning that if they are told that they are nothing and never will be anything in the future they will believe it! as crazy as that sounds its a sad truth. I feel as though some people use the William Lynch letter as an excuse to why some of our people people live the types of lives that they do. And same goes for the HIV/AIDS conspiracy some use that as an excuse to not use protection because they believe that their going to get it anyways. Now I’m not saying that these conspiracies don’t hold some truths but we cannot continue to let things like this dictate who we are and who we will become in the future! as a matter of fact things like this should motivate us to prove these theories to be wrong. I could talk about this all day but I’m going to stop here you get where I’m trying to go with this….right? I’d love to here everyone’s feedback so if you read this post please take the time out to leave a comment and let me know how you feel about this I’m thinking about taking this discussion further in some form maybe a video, or a radio show IDK for now but please post your thoughts. Also check out the video below it is about another conspiracy exploring the possibility that Tupac Shakur may actually still be alive, its called The 7 day theory.

I remember MTV only playing Tupac’s video Temptations late at night because of its mature content. I would stay up all night on the weekends hoping I would catch it. It’s seriously the quintessential 90s video with tons of cameos and use of the almighty fish eye lens.

Death Row Records made headlines yesterday for a court battle headlined by the company’s new CEO, Lara Lavi. The date in court is now over and details of the proceedings are coming to light.

Death Row Records CEO, President Lara Lavi has just been granted a temporary restraining order against the Canadian financial group, New Solutions Financial Corp and its CEO Ron Ovenden by the New York Supreme Court County of New York.

The court order will keep outside interests from attempting to act on behalf of the iconic hip-hop label, Death Row Records, and help keep the company on the road to its continued success.

Lara Lavi made a statement on the day in court saying,

“I have been very consistent in my message – I am determined to make Death Row about the artists, their music and their fans while staying grounded to assure the company’s future. Thus, I am taking the necessary legal steps to ensure this outcome.”

Lara Lavi

Founded in 1991 Death Row housed some of the highest profile hip-hop acts of the 90’s including Tupac Shakur, Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg. Death Row was purchased out of bankruptcy by Lavi in January 2009.

The court proceedings ended amicably, with Rob Scarcello the Senior Vice President of Sales Marketing with E-1 saying,

“E-1 signed its deal with Lara Lavi, the CEO, President and managing member of Wideawake Death Row Entertainment LLC on the strength of her vision, business sense and goodwill in the entertainment industry. I look forward to our continued working relationship.”

Pobre Taylor Swift

Today, I had the privilege of speaking at one of the high schools near my church. The principal there called me months ago and asked me if I would be willing to speak at their chapel. I chose today because it fit best with my schedule. The purpose of my speaking there was two-fold. One reason was because I felt that God opened the door for me to speak, and the second was that it offered the possibility of helping my youth group to grow. I know that may sound selfish, but it’s one of the bargaining points that the principal used when presenting me with the opportunity. He said that he requires his students to be a member of a youth group and that some of them haven’t found a youth group to belong to yet. If you haven’t figured it out yet, the school I spoke at was a Christian school. There were about 50 students present, 3 of which are members of my youth group. It was nice to hear them get excited that their youth pastor was coming to their school to speak!

I spoke on “prayer” and entitled my message: “What’s a Christian to do?” In my initial talks with the principal of that school, he revealed to me that he is ashamed to see that most of the students there don’t pray. I don’t know if he meant that they don’t ever pray, and I also don’t think that he can determine that. But he did know that he rarely sees them pray before lunch each day. So I took what he told me, prayed about it, and ran with it. My main point was that often times; people don’t know what it means to be a Christian. I’ve run into too many people who think that in order to be a Christian, all they have to do is go to church once a week. Prayer is one of the most important aspects of the Christian life (along with the Word of God) and that was the message that I was trying to get across to them.

Another point I hit them with was that sometimes, people think they are too busy to pray. You’ve done it, the principal of the school has done it, I’ve done it (that’s for sure), and I’m sure that most Christians have done it. We live in a society and culture where busyness is the norm. More and more these days, kids are trained to go from one thing to the next. Wake up, eat breakfast, go to school, come home, start homework, go to a sports practice or game, come home, eat dinner, do more homework, etc, etc, etc… Did you notice that church wasn’t involved in that list? Usually, at least from what I’ve seen so far, homework and sports come before youth group and church. It’s a sad but true reality! Because of this extreme busyness that we all have in our lives, we often leave little to no time to communicate with God through prayer. This should not be the case…at all!

In the Bible, an excellent example of someone who understood the importance of prayer was…you guessed it…Jesus! Jesus was a very busy man who had people to teach, sicknesses and diseases to heal, miracles to perform, an enemy to fight, and a life to live as an example to others. But even though Jesus was insanely busy and had a ton of good reasons not to pray, He still found time to communicate with His Father in Heaven!

Luke 5:15-16 says:

“Yet the news about him spread all the more, so that crowds of people came to hear him and to be healed of their sicknesses. But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.”

This passage is just one example of Jesus’ extreme busyness. Word started to spread about the work and miracles that Jesus was doing and more and more people came to hear what He had to say and to be healed of their sicknesses and diseases. But as we see in the passage, Jesus often “withdrew” to lonely places (this means He went away…by Himself) to pray and spend time with His Father in Heaven! This passage should serve as a great example to us. Jesus displayed a very real sense of closeness with God that I believe we should all try to imitate. Jesus lived and prayed like He believed that prayer worked and it kept Him focused and in-touch with God. The great news is that it can do the same for us!

To illustrate the point that we need to talk to God on a regular basis, I included a poem that I found in one of my sermon illustration books.

“I woke up late, no time to pray, I hurried off to school.

I failed to take advantage of this important tool.

Throughout the day I ran about, I had no time to kneel.

When dinner came, I failed again, to thank God for my meal.

When day was done, I went to bed, to get the rest I needed.

But once again the Bible’s call for prayer was left unheeded.

One busy day my soul was called, to answer for my deeds;

And as I stood, I realized I had denied its needs.

My name was called, and I stepped up to hear my sentence quote;

Yet all I got, to my surprise, was a little paper note;

And on this note God had written a message, oh, so true.

“You always failed to talk to me, why should I speak to you?”

Every time I read this poem, it makes me think back to all the times in my life where I was too “busy” to talk to God. I pray that it did that for all of those High School students today as well!

As I stated earlier, prayer and the Word of God are two of the most important aspects of the Christian life. If you take out the spark of prayer, and the gas of God’s Word, then you will never have a fire!

Now, as I am 37,000 feet in the air (on my way to the national youth workers convention) in Atlanta, Georgia, I was able to do some thinking and I realize that God had me prepare and deliver a message on prayer because I needed to hear it myself! I have allowed myself to become so “busy” that I rarely give God the time that He deserves. That will soon change though.

I want to end this post with some questions that I asked during my talk today. I’m not only asking you this; I’m asking myself as well!

Don’t we believe in prayer? Don’t we know what it could mean in our lives? Then why don’t we pray?

My question for you is this: Do you struggle with this as well? Are you too busy to spend time communicating with your Father in Heaven?

God wants to be our friends. He wants to be there for us through thick and thin. If we don’t talk to Him, our friendship will not grow. We know that prayer is important to our lives, so why don’t we do it?

Heather Ellis racially motivated over-prosecution in Dixie

http://www.theheatherelliscase.com/

Another year in America, and another slew of racially motivated, manipulated and biased application of the laws. Why am I not surprised that a small southern town in the South could over prosecute a crime that generally only garners a slap on the wrist, and a stern talking to.

Our ugly American tradition of prosecuting black people at a level that is akin to def-con 4, for minor offenses that statistically only net a very minor and negligible fine, has got to either stop, or be exposed to the world as a crime against humanity.

If it is proven to be the case in any prosecution, especially this one, then we as people should demand that it is stopped now.

If not now…when.

This latest case of unfair prosecution would be laughable if it were not actually happening.

The AP is reporting that nearly three years after Heather Ellis switched checkout lines at a southeast Missouri store and touched off what she calls a racially charged dispute with white customers and authorities, the young black schoolteacher faces a trial that could send her to prison for 15 years.

15 years for cutting in line is as ridiculous as it is over-reaching.This is what happens to black women and men in the south as a tradition. If you go there, all the southern states, state flags are just a slightly altered versions of the racist Confederate flag, because they still admire and aspire to be just like their Civil war ancestors.

The KKK has joined forces with the local police department in the small southern country town,Kennett,Missouri-which is about a two-hour drive from Memphis,Tennessee, by inserting racism in to the story when Ellis was handed KKK cards from a Kennett police officer warning her about her actions.

The cards from the kkkowardly kkkops stated, “You’ve just been paid a social visit by the Ku Klux Klan; the next visit will not be social.” The officer claims that he only showed the family the cards to make them aware of the situation.

Since that time, and after a dramatic plea for support, people have come to help Heather.

My question is…what is the situation that they are alluding too?…and what are the police doing promoting the Ku Klux Klan? This is a rhetorical question, as I know the answer, which is that southern cops, like a lot of police officers here in America, prefer to kill, destroy and abuse black people, since they no longer have the right to do so, ever since President Lincoln beat their weak Confederation of rebel states, and freed the slaves.

In the 60’s the government stepped in and ended the institutionalized segregation, that was much harsher than Apartheid, but similar, known as the Jim Crow laws, which was in fact, a de facto system of slavery and segregation that caused a lot of our black American citizens to be viciously murdered by mobs of white Klan members and their supporters down south, without the fear of legal retaliation, or prosecution of any kind.

The Jim Crow laws were enforced by the police departments, and the local fathers, in these small country towns, up until the time of John F. Kennedywrote the Civil Rights Bills, and signed by President Lyndon B. Johnson, who grew up in a small southern town in Texas, and was well versed on the murderous contempt that the local police always hold for black perpetrators who were always falsely accused of a crime they did not commit.

We all must remember that only a mere 35 years ago, a black man could be legally hanged from a tree until he/she was dead, for simply looking a white man or woman in the eyes. The law was called malicious eyeballing, and was the main reason why the white politicians from the southern states wanted to maintain states rights.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim_Crow_laws

Simply put, they did not want the federal government preventing them from killing and unfairly incarcerating our people with unreasonable jail sentences for minor offenses like what they are attempting to do in this case with Heather.

The Academy Award winning movie ”Sounder” was about such a case of over prosecution.

It follows the lives of an impoverished southern black family that made a living by sharecropping, which was just an extension of slavery, but was patterned after indentured servitude in the Jim Crow south.

The premise of the story shows what happens to a black family down south in Louisiana, when the father is imprisoned for stealing pig meat and chicken out of hunger and desperation, the boy still hungers for an education which was illegal to get if you happened to be black.

Any black man who let it be found out that he/she could read and write, were summarily executed by a white mob of killers.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sounder

It is still their main goal, but they are willing to infiltrate the police departments and the judicial system down south, as they have done there for centuries.

The facts in the case are in dispute.Prosecutors say Heather cut in line, and then when called out for it, she caused a major disturbance at the store. The police say that words were exchanged between Heather and the customer she allegedly cut in front of, and that groceries were pushed to the side.

No fighting occurred as reported, and Heather paid and proceeded to leave. In Los Angeles a similar exchange that did have a physical element to it led to the death of Latasha Harlins, before the officers arrived, so Ellis was wise to leave the store at this point.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Latasha_Harlins

When the police showed up, they took only the words of the white patron and store employee, and started to question and detain Heather.

She was upset at this time, and answered the cops with a retort that they did not like, but they have not reported that she verbalized a terrorist threat at all. What I do know of cops, is that they like to put black people back in our places, as we all witnessed via the Rodney King beating video.

Basically, they did not like what she said or did, and given that their grandfathers would have just strung her up to a tree, they could not let it go with a simple disturbing the peace ticket.

Nathaniel Ellis, Heather’s father, says that’s not true, and that his daughter was the one called racial slurs by a store clerk and officers, which seems more believable than a black women down south, and from the south, would do, rather than risk getting murdered by a racist cop.

It is a good story, since most people down south that are not black, are predisposed to believe the most racist and vile stereotypes of our people that they have created without any basis in the truth.

“They just indict her and launch an all-out attack to destroy her character and assassinate her future” says Ellis. “This is her choice, not to admit fault in an area where she hasn’t done anything and so we’re standing by her.

Ellis maintains she was merely joining her cousin, whose checkout line was moving more quickly. She claimed in a written complaint to the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People that she was then pushed by a white customer, hassled by store employees, called racial slurs and physically mistreated by Kennett police officers.

Police say in court documents that Ellis refused requests to calm down and leave the property, allegedly kicking one’s shin and splitting another’s lip. Her trial on charges of assaulting police officers, resisting arrest and disturbing the peace began today, Wednesday in Dunklin County Circuit Court.

Hundreds of protestors showed up and held a rally at the courthouse that was answered by a Klan rally.

“There’s nothing that I could imagine that could’ve happened in the walls of that Wal-Mart that justifies this young woman, this Pastor’s daughter with no criminal record and on her way to medical school, going to prison for 15 minutes, let alone 15 years” says Dr. Boyce Watkins, a Professor at Syracuse University in the North.

Ellis’ family says they have been threatened by the Ku Klux Klan since speaking publicly about Heather’s case. They’ve asked the U.S. Department of Justice to get involved.

Again, I am not surprised that a black woman down south is being subjected to this malicious prosecution, but is a good example of the level of hatred that many of our white citizens and leaders have for African-Americans.

In this case, the KKK along with the judicial system in that small Missouri town are once again using the criminal justice system as a way to rid themselves of what they perceive to be the continuing problem brought on by the freeing of the black slave system that they financially benefitted from for so many years.

Do not let them get away with it, and step up to free Heather and protect our beautiful African-American queens, or we should be ashamed to call ourselves men. To help her out, click the link… http://www.theheatherelliscase.com/

The Outlawz broke out onto the music scene under the friendship and guidance of Tupac until his untimely death in 1996. Now, more than a decade since his passing, one of the members is stepping back into the spotlight with a new project.

Mutah “Napoleon” Beale has been proverbially absent in music and heavily engrossed in the Nation of Islam. Now all eyes are on him as he ventures out with a new television show to educate the masses on his widely misunderstood belief.

Beale will launch “Napoleon TV” on December 1. Named after his former Outlawz rap alias, the television program will air in Europe and North Africa on Sky’s “Up & Coming “channel where Beale will introduce “top celebrities to Islam” and explain verses of the Quran.
According to Beale, his religion is being grossly misrepresented and he told Al Arabiya News that he hopes to use the entity to educate people on Islam’s “whole” and “peaceful” nature.

“It seems like here in America the media is attacking Islam in every way possible, so I decided to use the media to give people an understanding about the true religion of Islam, which is whole and peaceful.”

The “Up & Coming” channel will also air his documentary “Life Of An Outlaw.” Expect that to be “interesting,” as well as, it’s being produced by Mike Epps.

Hooray! Robbie Williams is back! But from the sound of things his revival has peaked far too early.

‘Bodies‘ may have been enough to prick up your ears. After all it wasn’t half bad insofar as what can reasonably be expected from a Robbie Williams single.

He made a faux pas with the X-Factor thing but who among us is not big enough to forgive him one bout of dad dancing in front of a live audience?

Well get ready to renege on any promise you made not to stay mad at good old Robbie.

His new single is another remorseful look back at his life, in reality quite a merry affair filled with riches, beautiful girls and a short spell being a fat bastard but Robbie still finds something to be miserable about in all of this.

The irony of the title ‘You know me’ is that we do indeed, know him. It’s a path trodden flat by him already. Please sing about something else! Anything! Anything but yourself!

Also, doesn’t this song sound a little familiar? Even Tupac had the decency to die first before copying Elton John.

It’s such a half-assed effort. People only say things like ‘you know me’ when they can’t be bothered explaining the finer details.

Apt enough for this then, as introspective as looking into a very muddy pond and being too embarrassed to admit you didn’t actually see anything.

Of course you didn’t, if he told you anything meaningful at all there would be nothing left for his next single.

I can’t say today has been very productive, but not all hope is lost as I have managed to do somethings even though they may be nothings.

First and foremost, I have to fess up…

I went to wal-mart. mhmm, It’s true. There’s no denying it, I even kept the receipt to prove it. What can I say? I know, I know. I know what a piece of shit that monopoly of all things cheap is. I know at what price, low prices are and it is true. But price wasn’t necessary what drove me there at 11 o’clock at night. I needed an allen wrench and because acres of fluorescent lights stay on 24 hrs. a day, I went for the smiley face. I also have been thinking I could do alot more work, if I had a desk. Now, I have one at home (6 hrs. away) and there was one I could have from the office, but I don’t have a way to get it home. SO….. at wal-fart I found a decently cheap desk. Looked fine, I could assemble it and carry it in my car. I bought it. It is now still in my trunk. I don’t know if I am going to take it out and use it or return it. I don’t know how to weigh out the pros and the cons, the wrongs and the rights, I don’t know how to make a choice. What’s better and easier for myself or what’s better for everyone? I mean the effects of my satisfaction are immediate. I have a desk now, I can assemble it, and I have it now. Or I can decide to return it, wait until I find time to go to the wal-fart- carry it inside, wait in line, and give it back. I would get my money back, but then I would be without a desk. I need one now, so that wouldn’t be good. Do you see these complications? Maybe it’s not that difficult, but I’m still upset that I had to compromise. I am mad that I gave my money to a soul-sucking conglomerate, but what can I do? I don’t have the time to go through the return process, I don’t have the energy to go back into the store, and I don’t have the resources to find another desk.

I know they don’t treat their workers fairly. I saw that most of the ‘associates’ are young black and brown women. What does THAT say? Mediocrity screams through their vests. The whole atmosphere is depressing.

This may seem like an over analyzed purchase, but that’s what it is and, in my opinion, what all your shit buying techniques should look like. Really think about where you are putting your dollar. You may be limited in many of your everyday decisions, I understand that. But for the rest, at least be conscious of the consequences in the ones you have. You are already at an advantage when you are empowered by choice.

So, in this case. I thought really hard about it and went ahead and bought it. The shit is still in my trunk, I didn’t want to take it out tonight because when I pulled up at the house, a lady came up to my window asking for some change for her car stalled with kids and child welfare and something else. I don’t know, she scared the shit out of me. So I went inside and gave her my quarters. I know this can’t always be the case and I didn’t even want to give her anything because it was 11:30 at night and completely a lie, whatever she saying. But I told her I had change inside. I did feel bad for her, I mean I am sure she probably made bad choices in life, like lying to strangers to take change for drugs, but it’s not her fault. It’s unfortunate, but it’s the reality. I almost wanted to say, “Lady, trust me. I want to completely abolish the system that has made you this way”. It’s a lose-lose situation with no one losing and everyone playing.
