Saturday, May 17, 2008 2:23:57 PM EST 3-1 series for Detroit so far. The game tied 1-1. at the end of the first, Dallas scored first, with a nice shot.. Detroit scored to return.. on the powerplay. Turco: * good job keeping the play alive.. nice passes forward and going for the puck .. Team: Good * Good passes back ... BUT * Turco playing puck in front .. keeping the play alive * Bad * Dallas needs to be more dangerous.. they can do it.. but it looks like it is inconsistent.. * Detroit is dangerous about 70% of the time.. dallas 30% of the time... i.e. icetime in each area * Dallas needs to be more careful with penalties... It got them badly in Game 1... NOT AGAIN DALLAS! ... * Dallas doesn't have enough backup for the forwards... ... It was like 1 forward against the entire Detroit team... The forward has no choice but to dump it in .. or try to take down the entire Detroit defence on his own. * Detroit dominating dallas with plenty of good chances and finding passing lanes * its good to pass back, sure better than playing it along the boards BUT * Try to have cherry pickers... people right beside the net...(i.e. like the Detroit goal).. having people like VULTURES close to the net If a dallas forward is going towards the Detroit net.. there should be some backup... who MOVES UP.. or beside the forward...and ready and even CALLING for a pass!Instead of going behind the net.. when its a 1 on 1.. try to go for a shot ON NET...i.e. go for the (almost) guaranteed shot.. instead of a maybe Turco can't win at the Joe Louis arena? If Dallas scores and makes a good lead...that will change quickly!
