Radix murió junto a Goku
Vegeta se cargo a Nappa
Gohan lo tuvo crudo
con los guerreros de Plata
La fuerza Aumentaba
Vegeta dejo controlarse… por Babidi

CorPetit y Krilin
Se convirtieron en Piedra

Hello, Hello, Glad to have you checking in again. The fabulous Shuswap sunshine was incredible over the May long weekend, although right now it is ending in rain, eh, spring shower?  But all the sun lovers I am sure, enjoyed it immensely while it lasted. Summer is soon to be here. Bring on the sunshine and the summertime  camping. This little beauty of a picture circa 1962 of the whole group, not really sure who they are, but I like to call this photo;

That’s a Heck of a Lot of Kids, You’ve got There!

This last month has been a really big “Bird” month write in the Shuswap. All kinds arriving here to the lake and surrounding wetlands. Yellow and Yellow-rumped Warblers, Western Tanagers, and one I can hear, but have not seen yet this spring. His prehistoric trumpet like song carries more than a mile. He soars on thermals and migrates so high he is invisible from the ground far below. A welcome visitor. Another visitor at the front door is of the zygodactyly type. We have enjoyed seeing a pair of Pileated Woodpeckers up front and personal. They have been roosting on our front railing for the duration of their courtship. And a loud one at that. When we sit and look out the window, they sit and look in the window. Together they have peeled the outer bark off the biggest cedar tree. Interesting couple. A photo series to follow. Dryocopus pileatus, mone me, amabo te, si erro. Sorry no macrons. Waiting for Clotho too. Knock, knock, we know who is there! Calendars?

Pileated Pair

I can hear in the distance, boats on Shuswap Lake. However for now, the only thing I can clearly hear is the sound of my lawn mower. All the work is getting done, and the leaves are coming out on all the trees that have leaves, anyway. The weather has been so great even Smudgy was outside for a look. I guess we may be rushing things here somewhat, as there is still snow on the top of the local mountains. And avalanches too, making for a long trip home Son.

Winter Contrast

Still waiting for my first of the year “bear” photo. Having another round of photo editing issues, but I have been lucky enough to get pictures of early spring deer, moose, beaver and a muskrat. Still early for the spring flowers at our elevation of almost 2000 feet, putting us a couple of weeks behind the Shuswap Lake level of springness. We won’t spell check that one. We will be looking for firefly season soon.

Last time I was out I took this picture of the big lake. Looking pretty blue out there. Definitely need to go have a look around the other arms of the H shaped fresh water lake again this year. Definitely need to go have another look at my blog stats as they are up to the truly incredible amount of ” one thousand one hundred and forty” Yes that was 1140 Wow, Wow. Thanks very much. This is all a learning experience in many many ways and does not stop here. Much more to learn “how to do” usually “why” helps too.

Right in the middle of this picture is Copper Island, Sorrento on the left, and Scotch Creek on the right side or North Shore. Shuswap is a Lifestyle. Now to learn how to add a blog roll so you can view other Shuswap Lake and Area Photos on my second WordPress blog of the same name. Just getting it organized too. And Updated!

Shuswap Lake

Until next time write in the Shuswap….. xoxoxox

Greetings! I’ve been off for a while as I snuck home to Boston to help my mom out for a bit.

Greetings! I’ve been off for a while as I snuck home to Boston to help my mom out for a bit. Got to see family, friends and Danielle, my hair stylist – so all was good in the world. It was especially good to sit down and have a completely normal conversation with my buddy Kev who was scaring us all in a coma this time last month. To be hanging on his couch talking to him and Karen about their kitchen renovation plans was just the best thing I could have hoped for. Now I pray that the rest of you who are fighting some big fights have just as miraculous bounce-backs.

Speaking of miraculous returns, I got a call in Boston from the girls. “Mommy, guess what we found? The turtle!” I didn’t know whether to say Ugh or Hooray, the thought of them finding the turtle carcass was both gross and a relief because at least it was found. But NO! It wasn’t a carcass! It was a perfectly intact, happy, healthy turtle. Where, you may ask, did she spent her 6 day hiatus? Our amazing cleaning lady Maria was cleaning out the fridge (yes – you heard me right – she even cleans out the fridge – how jealous are you now???). Lo and behold – when she opened the veggie drawer, there was a turtle in the spinach! We have no idea how it got there - the only thing I can think is maybe the spinach was placed on the counter near the turtles, and she made a leap for the promised land undetected.

So now we have three turtles. As you may recall, J had named the first turtle Serafina, then named her replacement Serafina. Now that the original Serafina is back, Hubby and I have suggested a name change for her – she is now Espinaca (Spinach).

Note: I would like to take this opportunity to formally apologize in writing to our cat Gully for publicly insinuating that he is a ruthless tortuga killer. I hope that he can find it in his fluffy orange heart to forgive me.
