Ooohh what a lovely update we have here.  Let’s start with the demos where we see them this week  for yet to be released titles Gran Turismo 5, Army of Two: The 40^th day, and Metal Gear: Peace Walker (PSP).  That’s complimented by demos for TV Show King, Guitar Hero: Van Halen, Diner Dash and Puzzlegeddon.  Puzzlegeddon also see its’ full downloadable release along with the digital release of Buzz! Quiz World (PSP).  In addition, we see the PSone classic Final Fantasy VIII available for download, playable on both your PS3 and PSP.

With the Metal Gear: Peace Walker demo, Konami delivers all other Metal Gear PSP content with Portable Ops, Portable Ops+, and the rare graphic novel.  F1 2009 also shows up as a new full game available for download along with 2 more PSP minis.

PS3 DLC is headlined by the long overdue Cold Fronts content for SOCOM: Confrontation while Brutal Legend gets new multiplayer maps.  The weekly Rock Band song list is dominated by Green Day content for the main franchise and the “Rubber Soul” album for The Beatles: Rock Band.

It’s a busy update this week with a brand new episode of Qore, two new full PSN games in Crystal Defenders and TV Show King, and the demo for the much talked about title Batman: Arkham Asylum.  In addition, demos for the already released Worms and Rag-Doll Kung Fu are also now available if you were on the fence about either of the two.  DLC comes in the form of the inFamous costume pack for LBP and map packs for Call of Duty World at War, Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood, the PSN exclusive Savage Moon.  For the PSP, we see a plethora of Hannah Montana: Rock the Show DLC, along with the now regular Rock Band: Unplugged song updates.

Las mejoras que presenta esta versión con respecto a la versión de Wii son:

-          Los gráficos han sido totalmente reelaborados para alcanzar el nivel de PS3.

-          Existe  un modo online para competir con jugadores de todo el mundo (4 jugadores por partida) via Playstation Network. El jugador también puede subir sus puntuaciones en rankings online.

-          7000 preguntas (en comparación con las 3000 en TVSK Wii)

Hoy 20 Mayo se ha lanzado oficialmente el servicio WiiWare, para el que no lo conozca es una nueva opción accesible desde el canal Tienda, (donde ya podíamos comprar juegos de consolas antigüas) en la que podremos comprar software nuevo. Buscan el acercamiento a wii por parte de desarrolladores indies que puedan llenarlo de contenido fresco y que utilice todas las posibilidades de control que ofrece la consola, aunque no faltaran a su cita grandes empresas como, nintendo, square-enix, Hudson. La verdad que hay juegos muy interesantes desde su lanzamiento, por eso voy a hacer un repaso del catalogo, para que veas lo que se nos viene:

Este juego me tiene cautivado, si tuviese que comprarme un juego ahora mismo, sin duda sería este, tanto por su espectacular diseño, como por su innovador concepto (a parte que tiene mejor aspecto visual que muchos de sus hermanos en dvd). En este juego manejaremos a Toru, un chico capaz de liberar la maldición que cierne al mundo Mistralis, pero no estará solo en esta empresa, ya que Enril el Dios del viento, estará para guiarlo y protegerlo.

Como podrás imaginar con la imagen anterior con el Wiimote dibujaremos ráfagas de viento en nuestra pantalla, que nos ayudaran a resolver los puzzles que nos impidan avanzar, en este caso primero deberemos empujar una nube hasta la cepa y hacerla llover para conseguir un puente, ingenioso cuanto menos. Por su lado Toru será manejado con el nunchuk, como en la saga zelda, solo dispondrá de un salto automático cuando nos precipitemos por un borde, pero tranquilo, tendremos a Enril para darle ese empujoncito extra que necesite. Este es un juego de lógica-plataformas, sabor añejo con nuevas e interesantes opciones, como la posiblidad de usar diferentes tipos de artilugios para solventar situaciones complicadas, entre ellos encontramos aspiradoras, teletransportadores, pistolas de hielo, trampas de suelo, y un largo etc. Toki Tori pondrá a prueba nuestro intelecto durante 70 fases donde el objetivo principal será, recoger huevos, solos o en modo cooperativo a dos jugadores, donde el segundo player se encargará de ir dibujando pistas que nos ayuden a superar la fase, os dejo un vídeo donde se muestra el sistema de juego.

Este juego trae consigo un concepto interesante (aunque parezca copiado de King Story) en el encarnaremos a un joven rey exiliado que al volver a su tierra solo encontrará el castillo abandonado y el cristal mágico, su misión, devolver su esplendor a su tierra gracias al poder architek, que le permite materializar sus recuerdos. Con la ayuda de sus leales sirvientes y de algunos aventureros audaces se pone manos a la obra para reconstruir su nuevo reino. A continuación un vídeo explicativo.

IGN.com is reviewing all of them quickly, most earning a score around 6 or 7, but so far with LostWinds in the lead with an 8.2 out of 10. Now I kind of wish I saved those 500 points I had on Sunday for Defend Your Castle (the only 500 point game of the bunch), but Super Mario Bros. 3 probably is a much better game…

By the way, Final Fantasy up there has downloadable content features… nice. Nintendo’s finally starting to understand.

And as a final note, the Nintendo Channel was also given an update with new videos (mostly of the WiiWare titles) and DS demos. While it’s a bit disappointing to see Ninja Gaiden gone from the lineup, new demos like Apollo Justice and Iron Man have caught my eye. If the Nintendo Channel keeps getting awesome updates like this every week, I’ll be one happy gamer.
