6.06 Alexis Stone

Mother from hell.

Remember this will be a SPOILER review.

Well the return of Julia’s mother, Dr. Erica Noughton (Vanessa Redgrave) was always going to cause trouble for both Sean and Julia. Mother satan wants custody of Conner and Annie and it looks like she could achieve that goal. She’s got a lot of evidence against Sean and Julia. She has even married a young Italian man who wants to have kids. The evidence is pilled up on the parents and it will be interesting to see how Sean and Julia work together to make sure they keep their children.

Christian and Kimber as we all know are perfectly suited to each other. It looks like the conclusion for both of their characters is that they end up together. She has now finished with Mike and it seems that they will get back together. Will it work out for them? Probably not, while they are perfect for each other, I don’t think two people like Christian and Kimber can stay in a real relationship.

Geeky Thoughts:-

The actress who played Alexis was in Dirty Sexy Money and in real life she had a sex change operation. How could you change your mind to go back? When Christian was telling her all about the surgery, it didn’t make me feel good.

Matt is helping Erica get custody of Annie and Conner. He’s even a fuck up inside. While Sean and Julia aren’t the best parents in the world, they don’t deserve their children taken away from them.

Oh and Erica was right, Matt does need to be someone’s bitch. He’s been a bitch all his life.

Favourite Scene: I really liked Christian telling Liz his problem. Detailing what he did to Alexis. Then her reaction.

The future’s bright, the future’s not set.

Remember this will be a SPOILER review.

Sorry for this being late but I’ve hardly had any spare time. I’ll just have to give you some quick thoughts on the episode.

After last weeks episode I thought that flashforward would increase with quality but if I’m being honest, I found this episode tedious and pointless. This is just another filler episode, nothing at all interesting happens in regards to the plot. Fuck, we get a story in which Simon and Lloyd are playing poker. Who thought that was a good idea? Last weeks episode sparked an interest with me, it showed what the show could become but this episode ruined all that.

Geeky Thoughts:-

Even if I wasn’t doing a review for the show, I’d still be critical about the show. The poker scene was unbelievable and should not have been written into the script.

Are the FBI idiots? Does Mark really believe there could be just one man with that tattoo?

They really need to stop showing people’s flashforwards, it’s becoming annoying.

Add more plot advancement throughout the episode.

It’s quite annoying when a new show has signs of promise and the week later it ruins it by making mediocre episodes. I have a feeling that flashforward will only get interesting when we get closer to that ultimate date.

Favourite Scene: Not a stand out moment in this episode.

Episode Title Meaning: Thoughts people? Not too sure myself but obviously it’s about Simon and Lloyd playing poker.

6.05 Abigail Sullivan Two sides of everything Remember this will be a SPOILER review. I am honestly

6.05 Abigail Sullivan

Two sides of everything

Remember this will be a SPOILER review.

I am honestly quite surprised that the whole Teddy storyline is finished with. To me it seemed a very abrupt end to the storyline and with the recasting of Rose McGowen in the role, I thought that the story would go on all season. It seems this season that plots are being resolved quicker which I think is a great thing.

It’s quite ironic that while Teddy tried to get an alibi, that alibi turned out to be a psycho killer who killed her and chopped her up into god knows how many pieces. I liked that he was disgusted that she would kill children just to get money. Though how was Teddy’s plan going to work? For me it’s a major plot hole. If Sean was dead, she wouldn’t have got any money. I’m thinking the writers wanted to end the story quicker than probably plannned so it all seemed a bit rushed.

The fuck up that is Matt has ended up in the place he was destined to be for a long time now. After being shot, Christian and Sean help him but Christian is adamant that Matt should turn himself into the police. Julia return and agrees that Matt is the worst son of all time and agrees with Christian. So Matt is going to jail. I’m not too sure what’s left for the character. Hopefully we don’t see too much of his jail time but this is Nip/Tuck. I bet we’ll be seeing him avoid getting shafted in the showers or something along Nip/Tuck’s twisted ways. Hopefully prison will do the guy some favours.

Geeky Thoughts:-

Julia, all she does is berate Sean. I really do hate her.

Sean stripping naked and going for a swim in the ocean. He’s a braver man than me. I wouldn’t want to be stung by any jellyfish.

Hopefully Julia is around for too long.

I’m glad that the Teddy story was resolved. Now we can move on and I’m looking forward to what’s coming next. This season has been excellent so far and if they can keep the quality going then the show will end as it started.

Favourite Scene: Sean with Teddy’s killer.

YOU SHOULD BE WATCHING THIS SHOW. PERIOD.

I swear to you, this is not a girly show, (even though I watch it, I am a girl, and it is on The CW – which I understand is a red flag to anyone with the male anatomy.) Supernatural debuted on September 13, 2005 and is now currently in it’s fifth season. It was created by the fantastic Eric Kripke, who is also credited as Executive Producer, along with Joseph McGinty Nichol, whom we all know better as McG.

Personally, I believe this show is getting better and better with each passing season. Kripke had originally stated he had a Five-Year Plan for the show, and envisioned wrapping it up in Season 5 (Boo). However, I think we will be seeing more of it due to a loyal and growing fan base, which is awesome (Yay).

The main characters of the series are brothers Dean and Sam Winchester. The guys have followed in their father John’s line of work – that being Hunters of demons and the paranormal (better than sitting in a cubicle all day?? -You be the judge.) Amidst all this hunting, we get great snarky lines and comedic gold – which in my opinion are one of the best elements of this show. Another is the music – “Carry On Wayward Son” by Kansas starts off many of the episodes, and it gets stuck in my head every time. Dean’s black ‘67 Chevy Impala has been dubbed by fans the “Metallicar” for pete’s sake! With great writing and execllent storyline consistency, this is truly one of the most underrated shows on the tube right now.

The Winchester Brothers

In a nutshell, Seasons 1-3 have revolved around the brothers learning more about their work while saving people from supernatural beings – we have seen Ghouls and Goblins, Tricksters, Shapeshifters, Paris Hilton, etc. Obviously, there have also been major plot points, most of which I don’t want to ruin. Examples are Sam developing psychic abilities that prove to be more than that of John Edward, or Dean making a deal with a demon named Lilith to save his brother, giving him one year to live before being dragged by Hellhounds to Hell.

Season Four was all about Heaven vs. Hell – Sam and Dean have to work with Angels, the most important being Castiel, to stop Lilith’s plan of breaking the 66 seals of Hell – which would let Lucifer walk free on Earth. Not a good thing. Well, with him being an Angel and all, Castiel (played by Misha Collins) had previously resurrected Dean from Hell with the intent for him to stop her from breaking these seals. Sam also discovered he has a demonic side and kind of gives in to it by becoming strung out on demon blood (Supernatural crack) in order to become strong enough to defeat Lilith once and for all. This, my friends, does not go as planned.

Season Five’s current storyline revolves around The Apocalypse. Sam and Dean are in a race to try and defeat Lucifer (see, I said it didn’t go as planned) and not end the world. There have been some major revelations, which I will not spoil, that are lining up to make this season the best one yet. If you have never watched Supernatural, check you local listings, and I urge you to get Seasons 1-4 on DVD and catch up.

6.04 Jenny Juggs

Tit Terrorist

Remember this will be a SPOILER review.

I apologise for the lateness of this review but my what a strange episode which I will mention later. First I want to discuss the Teddy story within this episode. Teddy’s plan to kill the McNamara’s goes into plan but fails. I can’t figure out why she would want to kill Sean as well, she wouldn’t get any money doing that. Well she tries to set up an alibi but that alibi turns out to be a psycho who attacks Teddy. Do you think Teddy is dead? I think it’s highly unlikely, she will survive and the blame for the murder attempt on the McNamara’s will probably fall on that guy.

Now I have to mention the tit terrorist named Jenny Jugs who assaulted Christian with her gigantic boobs. Only on Nip/Tuck could you get a story like this. She scared the shit out of me, I wouldn’t want to try and handle those things, they were bigger than my head. The youtube video of her smashing up the pumpkin was great.

Matt’s storyline with the mime at first was stupid but it’s developed into something good. We all know Matt is the ultimate fuck up ever but now he’s resorted to robbing places. Now it’s backfired on him and he’s been shot, the truth will come out but what will Christian do. Will he report him to the police or not?

This season of Nip/Tuck has been exellent so far, they are really cramming in a lot of story and moving plots forward quicker. These are good signs that the show should go out on a high.

Favourite Scene: The tit terrorist on youtube.

I really hope in reading this that you are old enough to remember the original “V” minis

I really hope in reading this that you are old enough to remember the original “V” miniseries and Friday night TV show that aired in the mid-80’s because it is probably the only way you would watch the new show that debuted tonight on ABC. Alien visitation has been done to death in the years that have passed since the red-suited visitors first came to Earth and newcomers might ask “why should I watch this show?” The answer is simple: Aliens on Earth have never been done quite like this and V was a great show. I have high hopes for ABC’s newest series to carry the torch that was lit back in my childhood.

The cast of V and the Visitor mothership

Can you tell who is human in this photo? If you have seen the previews then you know that Morena Baccarin (3rd from right) most definitely is not. She in fact is Anna, who back in the 80s would have been called Diana, the leader of the Visitors (actually Diana was not supreme leader like Anna is but she was still the “face” of her people). The big surprise in tonight’s opener is that someone else in the shot is not human and I was very surprised by that reveal. The show is definitely off to a good start using both material from the original show and putting a 2009 spin on things. The show opens to three questions: Where were you when JFK was assassinated? Where were you on 9/11? Where were you this morning? Something big is definitely coming. Anna has that beautiful smiling face and she is ALWAYS smiling. This show is gonna get ugly. Diana was never anywhere near this nice – and that makes Anna that much more terrifying. As in any society, not everyone shares the same views; not every visitor is an enemy and not every human is a friend.

Whose side are you on?

I for one cannot wait to find out. This is a show that should not be missed.

1.06 Scary Monsters and Super Creeps

Happy Halloween

Remember this will be a SPOILER review.

It’s October 31st in the world of flashforward, everyone is dressing up and having a good time, hopefully for one day trying to forget about the flashforwards, no such luck I’m afraid. This episode addressed one key plot, Lloyd has discovered that Olivia is the woman who was in his flashforward. Though honestly does anyone really care? There’s a little bit too much soap elements in flashforward right now. I like a balance in my shows but the whole Olivia/Mark/Lloyd thing is just too much for my tastes. The only interesting aspect is that Lloyd is somehow responsible for the blackout. Without that element, this would be a plot that I would be very disinterested in.

We get a proper introduction into Dominic Monaghan’s character Simon. He’s certainly very different to Charlie, he has the charm and from his flashforward he’s also very dangerous. He kills a man by strangling him to death. I can’t wait to find out more about him and how he and Lloyd are responsible.

Janice obviously survives her shooting but due to complications through surgery will apparently now be nearly impossible for her to get pregnant. I’m in the camp that you probably can’t change your flashforward, so she’ll somehow get pregnant. Impossible as a word would be meaningless after the whole world passed out and had a vision of themselves six months in the future.

Dimitri shaken up by the shootout he was in from the previous episode is hell bent on finding out who was behind the attack. He believes these men are probably responsible for his ‘death’ and wants to find them before they get him. It seems they’ve found another piece of the puzzle which will obviously lead them to the next. What is the significance of blue hand? Who is Ian Rutherford?

For the past few episodes there has been a stall on the overall mystery of the blackout. There is nothing right now that is grabbing me and keeping my attention. The character of Simon and his relationship with Lloyd is the only thing that intrigues me at the minute. The awful fights between Mark and Olivia have to stop. Get back to Mosaic, get Mark back on the trail because they are ruining their main character by constantly having him bitch about what his wife might do in the future. Hopefully we’ll get back to what the show should be about, who or what caused the blackout.

Favourite Scene: Not a standout scene really to mention. Though Simon and Lloyd’s experiment, whatever it is, caused the blackout.

Episode Title Meaning: The episode title is the title track from David Bowie’s 1980 album Scary Monsters (and Super Creeps).

Man, I feel like a woman.

Remember this will be a SPOILER review.

Well Teddy’s plan is sort of coming together. She and Sean eloped and her plan was starting to work out good for her. She put the idea into Sean’s head that he should update his will, it worked, he has doubled his life insurance but has left it to Annie and Connor. Now Teddy plans on killing both of them, though how that will ensure her the money is beyond me. I think suspicion would be raised when Sean’s kids die and then him. Anyway it will be intriguing to see what her plan is, let’s just hope she doesn’t succeed.

Loved how Christian tried to make sure that Mike and Kimber broke up. I loved Sean saying that Christian and Kimber are the male and female versions of each other, so true. They are perfect for each other and belong together in their warped version of a relationship. Funny how Mike wearing women’s clothes backfired on him. I wonder if we’ll be seeing Christian in fishnet stockings anytime soon?

Geeky Thoughts:-

So what journey will Matt go on this season? Is he going to continue his new life of crime? Will that lead to more sinister things? I see Carver version 2.

It’s good to see Annie back, though it’s not good for her. Her stepmom is out to kill her.

That was a creepy mask. Great for Halloween.

We’ve only had three episodes so far but I feel like a lot has happened already. I’m liking this season so far, seems very grounded and not as wacky as last.

Favourite Scene: Teddy killing Briggitte Reinholt. Creepy mask and horrible leaches.

Project Runway went from fab to drab with this week’s Michael Kors challenge. The remaining designers had to create an outfit inspired by a country or city. Irena won the challenge with her very “80s” esque “ski bunny” outfit. (Which I didn’t like. And I can’t stand her attitude any longer.) I wasn’t really crazy about any of the outfits this week. Nothing stood out to me. It seems like the designers are doing worse and worse…And the judges are ruder than ever! I mean, Chris’ dress wasn’t even that bad. I think the judges like to rag on him for kicks. But it was Nicholas who surprisingly got kicked off with his boring outfit that didn’t “speak Greek” to anyone.

1.05 Gimme Some Truth

Politics and gunfights in Washington D.C

Remember this will be a SPOILER review.

So the action takes us to Washington D.C for this episode as our characters face a hearing over why they started their own investigation into the flashforwards. We get to meet the President who has had an affair with another women and seemed to have had a child with her. Wedeck used this to get funding for the investigation. Though he once regretted it once he found out that Mark was drunk in is flashforward.

Though the Asian gunmen at the end who shot at Mark and co. and shot Janis will probably put Wedeck’s mind at ease that he has done the right thing. So are these men the same organisation that comes after Mark in his flashforward? I would say so. So Janice has been shot and we know in her flashforward she is alive so if we are to believe that these do come true then she’ll be fine. Will her being shot put things in perspective for her? Will she go back to her new girlfriend?

Geeky Thoughts:-

We didn’t get any new information on Dominic Monaghan’s character which was annoying. Hopefully next week we will find out more.

Another cliffhanger at the end which will make sure you tune in for the next episode. It’s like 24.

Who sent the text to Olivia about Mark being drunk in his flashforward? Simon?

A different type of episode which focused on the politics of the blackout. I guess for realism the show had to have this sort of episode. The LA branch just started up their own investigation of the blackout and you can’t do that without some explaining to do. Anyway things have kicked up a gear and we have this group of antagonists who want to kill Mark and the team. Things have got interesting again.

Favourite Scene: The shootout scene. I love shootout scenes with cheesy music over the top.

Episode Title Meaning: This is a good one. ‘Gimme Some Truth’ is a song written and performed by John Lennon. The song expresses Lennon’s opinion on politicians.

The Enigma of Sean McNamara.

Remember this will be a SPOILER review.

Well after watching that I want to watch some cheery because it was certainly a dark and depressing episode. Not all Nip/Tuck episodes are made to make you laugh and stare in disbelief by the raunchiness that is on display; some focus on the dark side of our character.

The episode was called Enigma due to the boy with all the carvings on his body but obviously it is a double meaning title and can refer to Sean. Him as a character has always had a dark side to him. Most of the time it doesn’t surface but we’ve seen in the past that it does rear it’s head from time to time. He reaches new lows to try and score pills so he can sleep and by the end of the episode, he becomes disgusted with himself.

Christian comes up with an idea to make some money by getting Kimber to market his penis as a sex toy. After Liz having words with Kimber, she does the right thing and screws over Christian by using Mike’s penis instead who hates it when his penis hits the water in the urinal when he’s taking a piss. The look on Christian’s face was priceless.

Geeky Thoughts:-

Teddy has now seen what Sean’s life insurance is worth. She will be sticking around to make sure she marries Sean.

Once Enigma’s carvings were removed, did he see the light? Killing your parents, then yourself isn’t what I call seeing the light.

Liz has now dropped the law suit but she’s removed Christian out of her life. You can’t really blame her though.

Favourite Scene: Sean and the redhead in the ER room. Weird to say the least.

Welcome to season 4 of the acclaimed Venture Bros. series on Adult Swim. On many a show you have seen a 2 minute clip showing you what you can expect from the season. Jackson Publick gives you an entire episode full of scenes spanning the season. I was treated to a confusing blur of tits, Hitler, illegal surgery, man-tits, reunions, farewells, nazis, poop, skydiving and bigfoot. The best part is that I did not make up anything in that last sentence. Season 3 of the show was sheer greatness and this new season is looking to take it several notches higher. People, get ready.

Damn those endings.

Remember this will be a SPOILER review.

Episode four was very much like the third, not really much happened at all, even less important stuff happened in this one. We didn’t get any new clue to Mosaic, all pretty much filler until the end. Like the past three episodes we have had cliffhanger endings and it seems every episode will end like this. Here we get the introduction to Dominic Monaghan’s (Lost) character, Simon. He calls Lloyd Simcoe and it seems that both of them were responsible in some way to the blackout. I never saw this coming but I am happy about it. The whole flashforward with Olivia and Lloyd has now got me interested. Before it was just very soap opera but now it’s vital.

As I said earlier not much else of worth went on in this episode. The theme of this one was accepting your flashforwards, accept what you saw and then deal with it. It seems both Olivia and Demetri have accepted what they saw or didn’t see. Don’t stand around wondering about it, do everything you can to make sure it doesn’t happen.

The show has already starting to become very tiresome in its execution. I’m glad that Dominic Monaghan has shown up because it will keep me interested for a while. There are some serious faults with the show, acting, dialogue, 2D characters which really start to bug me. The first two episodes were promising, the latter two are mediocre and both end with surprising turns which will entice people to tune in next week. We need something exciting to happen soon or people will be tuning out.

Favourite Scene: The opening one, loved seeing the blackout at the park to Björk’s “It’s Oh So Quiet,” perfectly suited it.

Episode Title Meaning: The hot terrorist chick explains that the black swan is a metaphor.

Credit crunch for Nip/Tuck. Which equates to new vaginas and wanking in front of blind lawyers.

Remember this will be a SPOILER review.

Reviewing Nip/Tuck should be interesting to say the least. We all know how crazy the show is, for five seasons it has pushed the envelope of what is decent to show on television. It has broken boundaries and shocked us to the core and that’s what makes this show special. This is the penultimate season of the show, after this episode they’re only 18 episodes of the show left.

Everyone is apparently feeling the recession and so is the land of the fictional worlds that many TV shows are set. The crunch has hit the offices of McNamara/Troy and they are running out of money. They come across Dr Mike Hamoui (the returning Mario Lopez) it’s good to see him back because I found him hilarious in his few scenes a couple of seasons past. Well he brings an idea of reconstructing vaginas and Christian and Sean come up with a way of marketing it so they can earn some cash.

Christian asks for a divorce from Liz which we all expected. Though she is a woman pissed off and wants half what he has. I couldn’t believe my ears and eyes when the blind lawyer asked him to wank and describe in detail what he was doing. Sean also seems to have troubles of his own, he cannot sleep and the recession is hitting him hard. He is still with Teddy, who has now been replaced by Rose McGowen. I really do hate when they change the actor/actress but I don’t mind in this case because it is Rose McGowen so it’s a good choice for replacement.

I have to spare a paragraph for Matt. He is the ultimate facepalm, yes people, he is now a mime. He is without a doubt one of the most dysfunctional characters to ever appear on screen. He’s had quite a life, homemade circumcision, sex with a post-op transexual, relationship with a Nazi, Scientology, meth addict and now a mime. There is probably a few things I missed out there but it’s a lot of fucked up shit for someone so young. Now he’s a mime and committed armed robbery. The writers must love coming up with ways to make Matt more of a fuck up than he already is.

Everything has changed for McNamara/Troy, business is not the same and well, life isn’t too. They don’t have their youth anymore, they have to get with the times or they’ll become relics.

Favourite Scene: I loved the infomercial, so cheesy but funny.

Movie: Stargate Universe, “Air,” Parts 1 and 2 (2009)
Precis: Part 1: The wrong people in the wrong place get stranded in a very old spaceship flying on autopilot on the far side of the universe. Part 2: Another alien-so-weird-it-has-to-communicate-through-avatars-of-people-from-your-past (an old sci fi chestnut; e.g, Contact, 1997).
IMHO: Third entry in the Stargate TV franchise nicely strays from the three humans + the other formula of the other Stargate and many other genre shows. So far. But few of the characters are likable or even very interesting. As a franchise, Stargate SG-1 was the bastard child of TOS, inheriting all the humor that never went to TNG. More about adventure than sci fi, Stargate is at its best when it doesn’t take itself seriously, with scripts and stars full of energy and wit. This show, perhaps overly influenced by the overrated Battlestar Galactica telenovela, comes off as too serious, even with Eli as the dorky comedian/genius, and lacking in energy and wit. Still, there is potential, with the tense set-up and the generally-reliable Stargate veterans behind it. Maybe if we never had to see Lou Diamond Phillips again. His cliched character (and questionable casting) exemplifies everything that is wrong with the show. And he never sings “La Bamba.”
Compared to the classic Trek episode “Shore Leave,” my impression is that your race is not yet ready to understand us, Captain.
If Gene Roddenberry had produced it, there would have been a ham-fisted religious reference. Oh wait, there was!
If Scotty had been in the episode, he would have fixed the engines and got everyone home before the opening credits.
SPOILER: Sam/Jack shippers will once again be disappointed.
I give these episodes: 2.86 Nomads out of 5

I am one of those people that likes to be surprised and doesn’t try to get all the info on a new show or movie. All I had heard about “Titan maximum” was that it was created by the minds behind Robot Chicken and that it was inspired by Voltron and similar mecha-based animé. Those were two factors that made me think “cool, this is going to be like the shows I enjoyed as a kid.” Truth is, it does pay homage to those shows, but it in essence, Titan Maximum is two things: a poorly done spoof on mecha-based anime and a really long Robot Chicken skit – a bad one at that.

The original crew

I am not even going to do my regular review format for this show. The story goes like this: The leader is a jerk, there are two girls: one is a prude who got deflowered by the main bad guy (who used to be on the team) and the other is a whore, just so they can have sex jokes. The original fifth member died because he is a dumbass (he fell out of his high rise window while sniffing coke with a prostitute). The guy who used to be on the team is replaced by the leader’s little brother, who becomes the team’s engineer (he has an engineering degree from DeVry, because that just gets funnier every time we hear it). The dumbass who fell out the window is replaced by…..a monkey.

The new crew (r-l) Leader, Prude, Whore, nerd. . . . monkey (sigh)

That’s right folks, a monkey. A monkey that makes no sounds and has the same face all the time. I strongly believe he will carry the show.

And that’s it, I’m done. If you like Robot Chicken (let me be honest, I really do) then you will probably hate this show. Remember your favorite episode of RC and how it was so funny but there was that one skit that you hated? That’s Titan Maximum and now it’s eleven minutes long. Stoopid Monkey.

Did I mention that this guy on the left's real name is Admiral BITCHFACE? It really is.

Unless there are some serious improvements, Titan Maximum gets a 3 out of 10 because the opening sequence of the first episode was utterly hysterical and that is the only reason I sat through the twenty-two minute long premiere.

This is Titan Maximum. Seriously

(I will update this if the show gets better)

Wow I haven’t realized how long it has been since a post! I am very sorry! Well I guess I’ll tell you how my school year is going!

Like normal it’s boring, but this year there is tons of drama and stuff which is pretty funny since it is usually the girls fighting. You see, there is this girl that seems to annoy everyone, but expects them to be her friend still. She really annoys me because she is always cursing. Normally I really don’t care if someone curses, but she curses n front of these kids in pre-school on the bus and stuff which I think is just messed up. So I really don’t want to alk much about her.

We got some new teachers too and there is this one who is annoying. I won’t mention names but he/she jsut doesn’t know how to teach. Maybe because he/she is new and stuff.

-

-

-

-

Enough about school though. The thing I am happy about is there is a new season of family guy! It is the best show ever! If you haven’t heard of it then either you live under a rock or you are just to young to watch it. Family guy is a show about a very weird American family. It is my favorite show ever. If you have never seen it then go on Hulu.com or something and check it out. Very funny but if you don’t like stupid humor it might not be for you.

There is also a new show called The Cleveland Show. It is one of the characters from Family Guy whose name is Cleveland. The story line of this is that Cleveland gets a divorce and travels to California to start a new life with his son Cleveland Jr. He travels to his hometown in Virginia and runs into his high school sweetheart, and soon gets married to her. This show is a lot like Family Guy, and in my opinion I don’t think this will ever be as good as Family Guy. It is still hilarious though. This is another favorite show of mine.

And my final and another favorite show of mine is South Park! It is one of the funniest thing I have ever seen. Some episodes are pretty messed up, but it is still hilarious. It is about four 4th graders and their lives. One of the characters is name Carmen. He is the very weird, daring, adventurous, and always does something stupid. The episodes is always something weirder and funnier than the last. If you aren’t that old then I wouldn’t watch it just because they curse a lot, but besides that it is great.

Well those are my three favorite tv shows right there. I recommend checking them out.

Also:

A leap of faith (wonder where I heard that before)

Remember this will be a SPOILER review.

A fairly lacklusture episode until the last few moments. The concept of the show is clearly defined now. As mentioned in the other reviews, it seems that someone always has information that will add another piece to the puzzle, here the someone in question is an ex Nazi who saw his freedom in his flashforward which was given to him by Mark. While he basically played them to get his release, his information didn’t reveal why the blackouts happened but might lead them down the road to why.

Dimitri learned from his fiancee that she saw him in her vision but did she 100% see him? Maybe she did see him but Dimitri had his death faked. Though why did he not see anything in his vision? John Cho is amazing and I’m loving his work on this.

There really isn’t much for me to discuss from this episode. It was a very weak installement which didn’t give us any new information to chew on except until the end. We found out that the blackouts could have happened before. 1991 in Somalia it seemed to have happened around a small village. The huge tower emitting something which seems to cause the blackout is interesting. Though I couldn’t imagine the size of a tower that could make the entire world blackout.

Favourite Scene: The Somalia sequence.

Episode Title Meaning: Easy one this week.137 Sekunden is 137 seconds in German. Hey they even mention it in the episode.

I just watched the mid-season premier of South Park, and it was downright hilarious. I couldn’t believe how funny it was. The title of the episode was “Dead Celebrities“, which was a perfect topic considering the luck Hollywood has had this year – lots of people died. As expected, Michael Jackson was central to the plot, but there were a lot of other funny elements in the show – they even touched on the pageants for little girls – it was pretty brutal comedy.

I also recently heard that South Park won an Emmy for its episode last season titled Margaritaville. That was probably my favorite episode in recent memory, so I am glad to see that they are being recognized for their massive skills. I get the feeling that they have some really hilarious stuff up their sleeves this season that should knock our collective socks off. I also can’t believe that they write, animate, and finish each episode within one week! That seems like a crazy schedule, but I guess it helps them keep things really topical.

About half way through my review, I lost all of the things for my review so I’ll put up the matches and the need to know things from tonight’s episode of Impact:

The Matches:

Kurt Angle and Mick Foley vs Matt Morgan and Abyss

Abyss was worked on through most of the match. This was an ok main event. It didn’t have a ton of spots until the end. The finish saw Abyss fake a shot at Foley with the barbed wire bat, sending Foley into the Carbon Footprint.

TNA X Division Title Match: Samoa Joe (c) vs Amazing Red

This wasn’t a bad match, but it did make Red look weak. Red is a great wrestler and did some phenomenal things during the match, but if Bobby Lashley hadn’t come out, Red couldn’t have pulled the upset. Red got the win with a standing shooting star press.

TNA Legends Title Match: Kevin Nash (c) vs Hernandez

This was ruled a no contest after Eric Young interfered. No shocker here. Before that, the match was ok at best.

TNA Knockout Title Match: ODB (c) vs Tara

This was a quick one since there was only 20 minutes left in the show and the main event still to come. The crowd was not really into this match as much as the others. As expected, Awesome Kong came out and she is bringing a sledge hammer. ODB pins Tara after hitting the TKO.

Daniels and Suicide vs D’Angelo Dinero and Homicide

With Daniels, Suicide, and Dinero, you would think this would be a great match. This one left a lot to be suspected. During the match, Homicide attacks Willie Urbina and Hector Guerrero. The finish came when Dinero hit the Express on Daniels, when he went for the BME.

Knockout Tag Elimination Match: Madison Rayne, Velvet Sky, Alissa Flash, and Traci Brooks vs Hamada, Sarita, Taylor Wilde and Christy Hemme

The match was a good knockout match, with some fairly good wrestling. This wasn’t anything to write home to mom about, but the main issue was trying to squeeze an elimination match in a less than 10 minute spanm it doesn’t work. Rayne gains the victory after Lacey Von Erich hit a chokeslam on Sarita with the ref’s back turned.

What you need to know:

Abyss will face Mick Foley in a Monster’s Ball match at Bound For Glory. Foley tweaked the match so Dr. Stevie could be the special guest referee and Abyss can’t use thumbtacks.

Team 3D, Booker T and Scott Steiner, Beer Money Inc., and The British Invasion sign a contract for a ladder match between the four teams. The IWGP Tag Titles and the TNA Tag Titles will be on the line.

Kevin Nash will take on Eric Young and Hernandez at BFG for the Legend’s title.

6.12 Give a Little Bit

New beginnings, the future looks bright.

Remember this will be a SPOILER review.

Wow, in a season that has been widely talked about as being inconsistent and mostly failing expectations, this episode was the best one of the season. It really had everything, just goes to show that a longer running time might be helpful for the show.

Firstly I have to mention Matt Damon’s brilliant performance, he nearly stole the entire show with him pestering Vince for money for his charity. Every scene he was in was hilarious and if you watched after the credits, there was an extra scene in which Damon tells Vince what he really thinks of him.

The real star of this episode though was Ari. Him “terminating” his way through his new company with a paintball gun, eliminating anyone he didn’t want to work for him is one of the most memorable scenes in the show. Other highlights include his wonderful speech at the therapist to his acceptance of Terrence’s apology and also to him making Lloyd a real asian agent.

What has taken ages has finally happened; E and Sloane are engaged. I was quite surprised by the proposal itself but it makes the most sense. This season has basically been the season of Eric. It has heavily focused on him and his relationships. Will he be able to make it work with Sloane? The sacrifice for that will be his relationship with the “guys.”

Geeky Thoughts:-

Drama has a holding deal, things seem to be working out for him now. Glad he decided to stay with acting, what else would he try to do with his life?

I felt so sorry for Turtle, poor guy. I had hoped it wouldn’t end like this for him. I wonder what’s next for the character.

Fucking Bono.

Oh and if anyone did miss the scene after the credits, here it is…

Season six is done and while over exaggerated people might have said that this has been the worst season and they’ve got to the point that they will stop watching, I honestly say that I am not one of those people. Yes it isn’t the best season, it’s had good and bad episodes. Vince needed more focus but with that we got more focus on Eric and Turtle which was very welcome. As long as the show keeps me laughing then there is nothing wrong with it. Roll on next year.

Quote of the episode: Ari “I would tie him up and allow the entire Screen Actors Guild to anally rape him, if not for the fact that I know he would enjoy it.”

Just wanted to let you all know that the first episode of the “Seinfeld Reunion” story arc, airs tonight on Curb Your Enthusiasm. It’s actually a really fun episode, as Larry David decides to get the old band back together (sorta speak), and meets with each one of the former Seinfeld cast members individually. Each of the meetings is quirky in its own way, and Larry of course manages to upset several people who are important to the reunion along the way.

They even visit the set of the old “restaurant” where many of the iconic Seinfeld discussions took place. It looks pretty much like it always has – its like seeing a long lost relative or something. Also, for those of you who don’t have HBO, there are several places to watch it online, including the following: The Reunion – Watch Curb Your Enthusiasm

I also wanted to ask all my faithful readers if there are any new show recommendations they have for me to checkout. I’m always up for checking out new and interesting TV Shows. This is random, but I also saw that the Lonely Island crew put out a new hilarious video, entitled Throw it on the ground. These guys are great – looking forward to more of their funny music videos.

I have always been a fan of 80’s television. I don’t know every time I reminisce about the old days on the tube, the hair on the back of my neck stands up and seems to cheer. I don’t know what it is about my fascination about nostalgia TV. In this expansion of Blast from the Past we will look at three of my favorite shows from that era. This week we look at Sledge Hammer!

SLEDGE HAMMER!

I guess the whole idea of old TV shows on DVD really never hit close to home until it came time for Anchor Bay Entertainment to release one my all-time favorite TV shows. The series was “Sledge Hammer!” and when that DVD hit shelves some little part of me stood up and screamed, “Oh Yeah!!”

“Sledge Hammer” was a mock-comedy inspired by Clint Eastwood’s Dirty Harry. David Rasche stars as the title character, a police detective who loves his gun, literally. He sleeps with his gun, he talks to his gun. his gun is literally the most important thing in his life. Sledge is a gun-crazy redneck but he also has a sensitive and not so bright side. He is a classic TV character and should be fondly remembered

“Sledge Hammer” was definitely a series ahead of its time. The one-liners, zany humor and social issues hard-boiled into this police detective was unlike anything ever seen on TV. Sledge Hammer (David Rasche) was always talking to his gun, getting in trouble with current social issues and rubbing people the wrong way. But for some reason he was so utterly easy to like as a character.

I have firm recollections of two of my favorite episodes from the two years that Sledge Hammer aired. The first episode was “Witless” which pokes fun at the Harrison Ford drama, “Witness”. I remember Hammer trying to be Amish and it was so hilarious. Probably my most favorite episode from the whole series was “Suppose They Gave a War and Sledge Came!” The writing on this episode reminded me so much of movies like “Airplane!” as Hammer is sent to investigate a murder during a corporate paintball match. It was Hammer at his best and probably the crown jewel of the series.

Series Rating: 3.5 out of 5

Nostalgia Factor: 8 out of 10

Although I’ve only seen the first two seasons of this show (way behind – I know), I’m completely in love with it. The casting in it is amazing, and Michael C. Hall was literally born to play the role of Dexter Morgan. He plays the character so well, it would be hard to meet him and think of him as anything other than Dexter.

The amazing thing about this show, is how they continue to keep it interesting and how the plot arcs go the whole season, keeping you on the edge of your seat the whole time. There is never a “boring” episode, or one where you can tell the writers just mailed it in – they are all consistently excellent and live up to expectations.

The other interesting thing that I learned about Dexter is that the actor playing him actually lost his father really young too, so I think that really adds to his portrayal of where some of his characters deep seeded demons come from – having witnessed something incredibly horrific when his mother was killed, and then to have a strange relationship with his adoptive father.

All in all though, I’m really excited that the Season 3 dvd is now out, so I can get caught up to Season 4, which is airing this fall, I believe. I think its going to be a great fall!

1.02 White to Play

These people do like to stand around in hallways.

The beginning of the puzzle.

Remember this will be a SPOILER review.

Episode two was always going to be the showcase of how every episode of this show would be constructed. Basically the format will be getting clues upon clues which lead you to a big clue which won’t lead anywhere else because well the episode will be nearly over. I’m hoping this is not the case because it will become very silly, very quick. Here we have a woman coming to the FBI which gives them a lead to follow. With the website, I see many people are going to be spoken to by Mark and Demetri which will lead to further things.

Demetri’s grave future which was told to him by woman who spotted his post on the website will be a staple of how the show will continue. This women read a report that he was murdered but I probably assume that someone else will contradict that woman. We won’t know anything for sure, it’s just what people saw, a misrepresentation or she could be lying.

What young Charlie saw is very interesting, she knows Dylan, the son of the man who Olivia saw in her future and she also seems to know the mysterious D Gibbons. Is Charlie and Dylan at Oliva and Mark’s house and D Gibbons is there or has he kidnapped both of them?

The main gripe with this episode was the forced humour and honestly that’s what it felt. I laughed when Wedeck described what happened to him when he awoke from the blackout but the scene came out of nowhere. It felt shoved in because the writer wanted to lighten up the script with comedy. I love humour in drama, one of my favourite reasons why I love The Shield was the comedy elements but it worked because it flowed naturally from dramatic scene to the humourous scenes. Here it did not and just didn’t sit right with me.

The credit crunch even effects the FBI. Water coolers are banned now.

There really ain’t much else to point out from this episode, it’s basically ground work right now. Clues are being given to us, we have a man who walked around when everyone was passed out and we have D Gibbons who made a call to this ‘Suspect Zero’. Though I have hunch who Suspect Zero is but I won’t say as it might spoil it for some. But let’s just say he’s 5,8.

Favourite Scene: The weird doll factory and D Gibbons escape.

Episode Title Meaning: Sometimes these are obvious, sometimes not. I’m sure that this title isn’t at all racist but I have no clue what it means. Though this is the fun part, I’d like to hear from you on what you think it means.
