Esta semana en Grey’s Anatomy vemos que el “Thanksgiving”, la Navidad y el Año Nuevo pueden hacerse en un solo capítulo, y también pueden llegar un mes antes.

Aun sin Izze, en el Seattle Grace vemos que los personajes principales Meredith, Christina y Alex siguen en su 6 año, y con mas competencia. Después de la unión de los hospitales, Richard despide a la mayoría de la gente dejando a Izzie sin trabajo, y a Alex sin esposa. En este capitulo nos presentan al padre de la Dra. Bailey, quien al igual que ella es rudio pero a la vez bueno. Derek, Sloan y Arizona tiene un paciente con una enfermedad en el cerebro incurable que planean curar y sin recursos del parte del hospital, ellos mismos pagan el tratamiento experimental para su paciente.

En conclusión, nos presentan a la hija ilegitima de Sloan, Lexie se corta un dedo preparando la cena y Bailey confronta a su padre sobre su divorcio.

A mi humilde opinión, después del sùper final de la  temporada pasada, esta ha sido la mas aburrida y aun no logran volver a lo que era antes. Seguire reportando.

I’ve been on a bit of a documentary kick lately. I’ve already talked about I.O.U.S.A. and I just finished Maxed Out, which takes on personal debt and the credit card companies as opposed to the national debt. Just like I.O.U.S.A. it serves as a wake-up call for financial responsibility. I first had this wake-up call after attending a Dave Ramsey, Financial Peace class about a year ago and I can’t stress enough how important is for the individual to maintain financial responsibility. Debt is killing people out there so I suggest you take control before it comes down on you. One probem I had with Maxed Out is that they never told the consumer to take control of their finances. All the film did was points it’s finger at the big, bad credit card companies and debt collectors and while I agree that these companies take advantage of consumers, I also believe that these consumers have the opportunity to avoid a lot of this if only they would take financial responsibility and control

Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room was another pretty fantastic film. It seems like between this one, I.O.U.S.A. and Maxed Out we cover governmental financial irresponsibility, corporate financial irresponsibility, and personal financial irresponsibility. So that makes for a nice trio. It’s a very interesting film and it leaves you with a pretty good understanding of why that company was destined to fail.

I also just recently saw Harvard Beats Yale 29-29. Certainly an interesting little documentary about an extremely interesting football game. It’s wild how many people are mentioned as being associated with the team, who went on to become quite famous. People like George W. Bush, Al Gore, Meryl Streep, Tommy Lee Jones, and Garry Trudeau. I also was very impressed to learn about Brian Dowling. Dowling was the inspiration for B.D. in Trudeau’s Doonesbury comic and up to the point of that tie, there had not been a game in which Dowling had started and finished and been on the losing team since the 7th grade. That is just amazing. I do not know how he fared collegiately from a W-L standpoint after the Harvard game, but that’s a remarkable feat. He didn’t fare too well in the NFL though.

I also just watched Super High Me, which chronicles comedian Doug Benson’s “investigation” into the affects of marijuana on the human body and mind. Inspired by Morgan Spurlock’s Super Size Me, Benson takes it on himself to not smoke marijuana for 30 days while undergoing a litany of tests. Then he follows that up with 30 days where he smokes so much that he’s high during pretty much every waking hour. I think he could have done more in the way of medical testing. I exaggerated when I used the term “litany”. There is also a point where the DEA is raiding and shutting down medicinal marijuana dispensaries and I believe he should have done more to show the legality of those actions. Yes, the filmmaker did point out it was legal with a quick message on the screen, but no one ever dared argue with the protesters who were acting so offended or even ask those tough questions to play devil’s advocate and inspire the protesters to choose their words wisely. At one point you hear a protester yell (Or maybe this is a combination of two quotes) “The DEA isn’t doing their job! Their job is to stay out of California!” …uhhh, how remarkably stupid is that? That is the DEA’s job? Well why isn’t someone paying me? I’ve stayed out of California my whole life. In this film we also see Sarah Silverman, Patton Oswalt (of Big Fan fame), Dave Navarro, and the apparent Prince of Pot, Marc Emery. (Who knew?)

So do I feel more educated? Well, I dunno. I certainly prefer the classroom. Not in the sense that it’s more enjoyable, or easier to have a conversation about. But in the sense that if you take a class on a topic you should leave it with a pretty solid foundation of knowledge. These films are great for digging that hole for you to pour that foundation, but they are not a foundation. For one they are almost always biased. Maybe the bias is subtle (I.O.U.S.A.) or maybe the bias is obvious (Super High Me). Either way it exists. Yes, I’m sure it exists in the classroom also, but in the class room you spend much more time on the topics, also you are usually sent out to write things like research papers, which encourage you to do your own fact finding. This leads to a more rounded informational intake. Which in itself is probably the main reason the class room is a better way to learn. The breadth of information is much wider. That can’t even be denied so I’m not gonna to even explain myself.

I have another batch of documentaries lined up to watch so maybe in a couple weeks I’ll be doing this again. I don’t see why not. I would suggest all of these if you have plenty of time. It just turns out that the way I ordered them in this blog is probably the same order I’d suggest watching them.

Εντάξει, όλοι μας ξέρουμε ότι η Αθήνα δεν κοιμάται ποτέ αλλά τέλος πάντων ήθελα να βρω έναν ποιητικό τίτλο για να σας μιλήσω για την νίλα που έπαθα Σαββατοβραδιάτικο…

Για να σας κρατήσω σε αγωνία, κανονικά πρέπει να ξεκινήσω την διήγησή μου από την αρχή-αρχή ή και ίσως από λίιιιιιιιγο πιο πριν, κανένα μήνα ας πούμε… αλλά επειδή εγώ δεν είμαι του συγγραφικού αλλά του δημοσιογραφικού (όπως λέμε δεν είμαι του ποιοτικού αλλά του λαϊκού, ένα πράγμα), σας λέω από τώρα ότι έπεσα για απογευματινό ύπνο για να βγω στις 11 και ξύπνησα στις 4 (το είχα ξαναπάθει και έχασα ένα πάρτι του AkouAuto αλλά δεν περίμενα να μου ξανασυμβεί). Και τώρα όσοι ησύχασαν, που έμαθαν τι έπαθε η Μαριλού το Σάββατο 21 Νοεμβρίου του σωτηρίου έτους 2009, μπορούν να σταματήσουν να διαβάζουν και να χάσουν όλα αυτά τα ωραία που έχω γράψει στην συνέχεια και που θα διαβάσουν οι λιγότερο περίεργοι και αυτοί που δίνουν σημασία στον άνθρωπο “Μαριλού” – με λίγα λόγια όσοι έχουν την άλλη περιέργεια να διαπιστώσουν γιατί αυτή η κοπέλα άνοιξε blog αφού βαριέται να γράφει.

<parenthesi>Α, ναι! Γιατί σε αυτό το σημείο πρέπει να πω ότι καλά καλά δεν το άνοιξα το ρημάδι και κοντεύω να το κλείσω (ήδη το έχω αφήσει στην τύχη του και αραχνιάζει). Όμως, όπως σας είπα “Δεν προλαβαίνω” και ειδικά αυτή την εβδομάδα, που γινόταν της ζουρλής το κάγκελο και ένιωσα τόσο busy (ναι, μπίζι! Ποιο είναι το παράξενο?) όσο ο Ομπάμα όταν πρέπει να βρίσκεται σε 50 σημεία του κόσμου ταυτόχρονα (ναι, τόσο ψώνιο είμαι :Ρ) και ταυτόχρονα να ρίχνει και λαμπερά χαμόγελα δεξά-ζερβά (sic). Γιατί μην το γελάτε! Το θέμα του χαμόγελου είναι δύσκολο και θα το αναλύσουμε μία άλλη φορά. Όπως και σε λίγο καιρό (δεν ξέρω πόσο ακριβώς) θα σας πω γιατί έτρεχα.</parenthesi>

Φτου ρε γαμώτο!

Για να μην σας τα πολυλογώ (τι “να μην”; – που σας έχω ταράξει στην φλυαρία!), η απογευματινή σιέστα ολοκληρώθηκε μετά από 9 ολόκληρες ώρες. Και φυσικά, όταν ξύπνησα, ούτε που ήξερα τι ώρα είναι, τι μέρα είναι και ποια χρονιά! Και επειδή όπως λένε οι ανυπέρβλητοι Νικολακοπούλου/Κραουνάκης “Το θέμα είναι να έχεις βούτυρο στη φρυγανιά” αλλά και επειδή με είχε κόψει μαύρη πείνα, αποφάσισα να εκδράμω στην κουζίνα και να εισβάλλω στο ψυγείο. Στο μεταξύ, προσπάθησα να αυτοτοποθετηθώ χωροχρονικά, στο οποίο με βοήθησε το κινητό μου, όπου βρήκα αναπάντητες, sms, μηνύματα στο facebook να ρωτάνε πού είμαι. Φτου ρε γαμώτο! Πάλι έπεσα να κοιμηθώ για μία ώρα και να βγω και έχασα την έξοδό μου! Και θα πήγαινα στο Γκάζι! Στο Fox. Fox! Όχι Vox, βρε μπουζουκόβια πλάσματα : ) Μάταια με έψαχναν ο Αλέξης, ο Πέτρος και δυο τρεις ακόμα. Ίσως να υπέθεσαν ότι πέθανα. Δεν ξέρω. Να θυμηθώ να τους ρωτήσω σήμερα…

Σηκώνομαι λοιπόν να δω τι υπάρχει στο ψυγείο και ανοίγω τηλεόραση. Λοιπόν, την ώρα εκείνη, που οι μεν κοιμόμαστε, οι δε μασαμπουκώνουμε βρώμικα στις καντίνες Αθηνών, Πειραιώς και περιχώρων και οι υπόλοιποι είμαστε έξω (ψιλολιώμα εννοείται) και τσακωνόμαστε για το ποιος θα κεράσει, ενώ προσπαθούμε να μετρήσουμε τα ποτά/σφηνάκια/μπουκάλια μπύρας, που έχουμε πιει, και για να πληρώσουμε την εκνευρισμενοκουρασμένη γκαρσόνα, που θέλει επιτέλους να τελειώνει με τους μεθύστακες και να πάει σπίτι της να ξεραθεί στον ύπνο, εκείνη την ώρα λοιπόν, στον πλανήτη ελληνική τηλεόραση γίνονται θάματα και πράματα!

Tο γλυκοκούτι και το χαζοκούτι

Και το διαπίστωσα την ώρα, που με μεταμεσονύχτια+ (ναι, επίτηδες  έβαλα το +) χαρά διαπίστωνα ότι υπάρχει θεός αφού η απόδειξη ήταν ότι μες στο ψυγείο υπήρχε ένα κουτί γεμάτο παστάκια, εκλεράκια, σουδάκια, ταρτάκια κι έναν μπαμπά (το γλυκό εννοώ!). Ανοίγω λοιπόν το γλυκοκούτι και το χαζοκούτι κι αρχίζω να καταναλώνω το περιεχόμενό τους.

Το τι παρήλασε από τα μάτια μου δεν λέγεται! Ένα 90% των καναλιών έδειχνε – τι άλλο; – αθάνατο και all time classic τελεμάρκετινγκ (επίτηδες γραμμένο με γκρίκλις). Ρε παιδιά, πού είναι όλα αυτά τα φανταστικά προϊόντα, που κυκλοφορούν στην αγορά κι εμείς δεν τα χρησιμοποιούμε για να είμαστε χαρούμενοι και να το δείχνουμε χαμογελώντας με κάτασπρα δόντια, τα οποία έχουμε ασπρίσει με ένα πράγμα σαν το μπλάνκο που είχαμε στο σχολείο;

Κυρίες έχαναν πόντους με θαυματουργό τρόπο φορώντας κάτι ολόσωμα καλσόν, που ξεκινούσαν από τους αστραγάλους και τελείωναν στις μασχάλες, άντρες έβγαζαν μαλλιά ψεκάζοντας την καράφλα τους με κάτι σπρέι (που δεν έχω καταλάβει αν βγάζουν χρώμα, τρίχες ή και τα δύο), κοπέλες με 3.371 φακίδες (μόνο στο ένα μάγουλο) αποκτούσαν τέλειο δέρμα με κάτι ειδικές κρέμες-σοβάδες, σεφ και νοικοκυρές έφτιαχναν μέσα σε 17 δευτερόλεπτα με κάτι μίξερ απολαυστικούς χυμούς (ό,τι πρέπει για τα παιδιά) από ανανά, αυγό, αβοκάντο, γιαούρτι, τυρί, αντζούγιες, μάνγκο και φυσικά λίγο ταμπάσκο για γεύση, άντρες και γυναίκες που δεν είχαν αθληθεί τα τελευταία 50 χρόνια της ζωής τους και είχαν περισσότερο λίπος στο σώμα τους από ό,τι κι ένας ελέφαντας, μέσα σε 2 μήνες και με κάθε λογής μηχάνημα (που θυμίζουν όργανα βασανιστηρίων) αποκτούσαν σιδερένιο 6 pack και τέλεια οπίσθια και μάλιστα ΞΕΚΟΥΡΑΣΤΑ! Και όλα αυτά στο σπίτι μας! Από τον καναπέ μας!

Το ροδάκι μού έκλεψε την καρδιά!

Το καλύτερο όμως ήταν ένα ροδάκι βαψίματος, που αντί να το βουτάς στην μπογιά, του βάζεις μέσα μπογιά από μία ειδική υποδοχή, οπότε όταν βάφεις αυτό ζουλιέται σαν σφουγγάρι (ή κάτι τέτοιο) και βγάζει προς τα έξω την μπογιά. Δηλαδή, δεν πιτσιλάει, δεν τρέχει, δεν λερώνει, δεν σκοτώνει. Πάντα είχα την απορία σχετικά με αυτό το πράγμα: Είναι που είναι ζόρικο το βάψιμο, ειδικά στα πιο ψηλά σημεία. Όταν βάζεις και μπογιά μέσα στο μαραφέτι, δεν γίνεται ακόμη πιο βαρύ και άντε να το κουνήσεις; Τις απορίες μού τις έλυσε το επόμενο πλάνο, όπου μία κυρία κατενθουσιασμένη έλεγε ότι από την χαρά της δεν μπορεί να σταματήσει να βάφει ό,τι βρει μπροστά της, καθώς κι ένας κύριος που έδειξε φωτό που τον δείχνουν σκαρφαλωμένο σε μία σκάλα ύψους 2,1 χιλιομέτρων να βάφει κάτι που μοιάζει με γιγάντιο τοίχο εργοστασίου και να διαβεβαιώνει εμένα προσωπικά μαζί με 5-6 υπόλοιπα άτομα σε όλη την ελληνική επικράτεια (τόσοι νομίζω ότι πρέπει να ήμασταν όλοι κι όλοι) ότι δεν κουράστηκε καθόλου για να το βάψει, χάρη στο ροδάκι βαψίματος TheBestRodaki&IfUDontBuyItURStupid, που στοιχίζει μόνο 99,99 ευρώ (χωρίς τα έξοδα αποστολής). Φυσικά, αν το παρήγγελνα εκείνη την στιγμή (δηλαδή στις 4:29:37 π.μ. της 22ας Νοεμβρίου 2009) θα έπαιρνα δώρο όλη την οικογένειά του, από τα μικρότερα αδέρφια του μέχρι τον χοντρό παππού του, για να μπορώ να βάψω κάθε γωνία του σπιτιού μου – ακόμη και πίσω από το μπιντέ.

Το υπόλοιπο 10% των καναλιών έπαιζε σε επανάληψη ελληνικές σειρές, με τους ίδιους ηθοποιούς που βλέπουμε και σήμερα στις ελληνικές σειρές αλλά προ: botox, πλαστικών, βαφών μαλλιών, λίφτινγκ, λιπαναρροφήσεων, προσθετικών στήθους, 15ετών, αναγνώρισης, καβαλήματος καλαμιών, γκριζαρίσματος στους κροτάφους, ψεύτικων χολιγουντιανών οδοντοστοιχιών… Δηλαδή προ πολλού.

Το μόνο που με φοβίζει τώρα, είναι μήπως μετά ξανανυστάξω και κοιμηθώ και δω στον ύπνο μου κανέναν από δαύτους τους Έλληνες πρωταγωνιστές, σκαρφαλωμένο σε καμια σκάλα φορώντας μασαζοκαλσόν να βάφει χαμογελώντας με κάτασπρα δόντια λέγοντας ότι το θαυματουργό ροδάκι του έχει χαρίσει υπέροχους κοιλιακούς και του έχει αλλάξει την ζωή!

Α! Και να σας πω! Πείτε κι εσείς καμία αστεία διαφήμιση telemarketing ή ανεβάστε κανένα βίντεο… Τρελαίνομαι για κάτι τέτοια!

The singing challenge of 20th November, 2009 of Saregamapa Mega Challenge begins with new judges – Salim-Sulaiman and Pyarelal Ji. Manish Paul and Vipul Roy introduced the Saregamapa Mega Challenge 2009 with the contestants of Punjab and West Bengal.

West Bengal contestants – Abhijit Ghoshal, Keka Ghoshal and Sanchita Bhattacharya enters into the Show with the traditional hand rickshaw. Abhijit Ghoshal is the caption of West Bengal’s team in Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Mega Challenge 2009.

On the other hand – Tarun Sagar, Harpreet and Rohanpreet Singh has been introduced in Mega Challenge from Punjab team. Tarun Sagar is the caption of his team in Hero Honda Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Mega Challenge 2009.

Hero Honda Saregamapa Mega Challenge 2009 is the best singing platform till now. On the Show you can know about Laxmikant Pyarelal directly from Pyarelal Ji.

Currently, on Saregamapa Mega Challenge a competition is running for Semi final where Maharashtra, Gujarat and Assam have already taken a position in Semi final. Now, the competition between Punjab and West Bengal is going on.

On Saturday, 20th November, both teams – Punjab and West Bengal performed group song and duet song. Punjab team had scored total 23 marks on Mega Challenge 2009. Similarly, West Bengal team had scored total 24 marks. There was a minimum difference with 1 mark between both teams.

On Sunday, 21st November, both teams – Punjab and West Bengal performed solo song and Jugalbandi on Mega Challenge on ZEE TV. In the solo song, Abhijit Ghoshal achieved 8 marks, Sanchita Bhattacharya 7 marks and Keka Ghoshal 8 marks.

On the other hand, Punjab team scores 7 marks by Rohanpreet Singh, 9 marks by Tarun Sagar and 5 marks by Harpreet in the Solo song.

In the Jugalbandi performance, Punjab team scores 5 marks and West Bengal team gets 4 marks. West Bengal team achieves total 51 marks after all performances in two days. Similarly, Punjab team scores total 49 marks after all performances.

This was the last competition in Hero Honda Saregamapa Mega Challenge 2009 on ZEE TV for Semi final round. West Bengal is the winner in this performance. Now, from next Friday, on Hero Honda Saregamapa Mega Challenge 2009 semi final round will start on the singing platform.

Hero Honda Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Mega Challenge 2009 on ZEE TV is the best singing platform from others because we watched first time live performance of Pyarelal Ji and Salim-Sulaiman on this platform.

J’ai commencé à écouter quelques séries télé que je trouvais intéressantes, mais à mon grand désarroi elles ont toutes été annulées!

• Deadwood – En 1877, la ville de Deadwood est le far-west de la ruée vers l’or. Chacun fait sa loi et tout le monde veut faire fortune à Deadwood. Série très intéressante avec beaucoup de personnages bien travaillés, des jeux de pouvoir intéressants et des intrigues qui donnent hâte au prochain épisode.  Malheureusement, la série fût annulée après 3 saisons. Alors la saison 3 se termine avec un pic de suspense et une ville de Deadwood sur les dents… quelle déception de ne pas pouvoir voir la suite! Somme toute, un excellent western. Sale, dur et sans pitié comme on pourrait s’attendre d’une ville comme Deadwood.
• Defying Gravity – En 2052, 8 astronautes quittent la Terre à bord du vaisseau spatial Antares pour un périple de 6 ans autour du système solaire. Avec un usage très habile du flashback, on peut suivre le périple des astronautes autant pendant leur voyage que pendant leurs années de sélection et formation pour la mission. Chaque astronaute a des squelettes dans son placard et la série porte beaucoup sur la vie personnelle de chacun. La mission prends une tournure encore plus intéressante après 5 ou 6 épisodes lorsqu’ils découvrent la vraie raison de ce voyage. Mais comme les séries de science-fiction ont un public plus restreint et que les cotes d’écoute n’étaient pas à la hauteur, la série a été annulée par la chaîne ABC après seulement 8 épisodes. Les 4 épisodes restants ont été diffusés au canal Space… et nous laissent sur notre faim car la mission ne faisait que commencer. Dé-cep-tion!
• Dollhouse -  La Dollhouse est une organisation qui peut reprogrammer à volonté des êtres humains selon les besoins de ses clients fortunés. Les Actives sont des gens qui ont volontairement signé un contrat de 5 ans avec la Dollhouse pour l’argent ou pour fuir leurs problèmes. Pendant ce temps leur personnalité est sauvegardée et leur corps est utilisé par la Dollhouse. On suit donc Echo, une Active particulière qui garde des souvenirs de chaque personnalité qu’on lui a implantée. La série traite des questions éthiques soulevées par de telles activités et aussi sur la notion de personnalité et d’identité. La deuxième saison est en cours, mais elle il n’y aura pas de saison 3. Heureusement dans ce cas-ci, l’auteur va pouvoir tourner les derniers épisodes de décembre et janvier en fonction de ça et apporter une finale à Dollhouse.

Only Wanda Sykes can make such a touchy topic into something so friggin hilarious yet still appropriate:

“Oprah announced that she will end her iconic show in 2011. I blame the woman who’s face got chewed off. Even Oprah said, ‘you know what? I think I’ve seen enough.‘”

A sad story but inspirational…a brave woman who continues to live with such hope and positivity…even after losing both hands, her ability to see and eat properly…

Oprah Winfrey has announced that “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” will come to an end on September 9, 2011. It is going to interesting to see how the network ratings are going to be affected once her show is over.

An article from Media Buyer Planner wrote, “For CBS, which owns the syndication rights to the show, the decision will mean the loss of millions of dollars in revenue each year as it says good-bye to its signature program. ABC stations, which aired the show in syndication, will lose daytime’s most popular program, which regularly draws 7 million viewers that led into evening news programs.”

According to ABC, the show at its peak had 33 million viewers daily and 42 million weekly viewers in the US. It was also number one in talk shows for a record 23 seasons. ABC is going to need to find an outstanding program to replace Oprah’s incredible ratings. Personally, I don’t think any ABC program that takes “The Oprah Winfrey Show” time slot will draw in as many viewers to compete with what Oprah has done.

I think when Oprah launches her new cable channel, “The Oprah Winfrey Network,” she will be able to attract all of her previous viewers and her channel will be very successful.  The cable channel will be a “50-50 joint venture with Discovery Communications.”

Although, I’m still unsure about ABC’s decision to keep Scrubs going, I still want the show to do well, so I wanted to share some of the new promos that have been coming out.
The crazy things is, Scrubs has gotten way more promotion these past two seasons than it did when it was at NBC, but the ratings have taken a hit. Maybe this new version will revitalize the interest in the show, but I’ve already read some backlash from fans on the net. We’ll just have to see what happens.

Much like Miley Cyrus’ cameo in the sequel to “Sex and the City: The Movie” was once one a big mystery, we’ve now unearthed details about another thespian’s (this time it’s an Academy Award winner!) guest stint.

In October, People reported that Penelope Cruz would be appearing in the film (which is slated to be released in 2010) as a banker, and while we can’t exactly confirm if her financial abilities are going to be highlighted, we can shed more light on the logistics behind her part. “I’m in it for very, very little time,” she told MTV News during a press event for her next film “Nine.” “It’s a collaboration that I did because I am a huge fan of the show and the movie and Sarah Jessica Parker.”

Not quite satisfied with that tiny amount of information, we tried to get her to spill some more. “They won’t let me say who I am, but I don’t play myself,” she admitted. There’s been rumors, however, that she was seen filming a scene in which she looked awfully flirty with Carrie’s man, Mr. Big (Chris Noth), but she insists her character would do no such thing. “It’s not like that, [but] the scene is with the two of them.”

I studied Spanish in school and though I don’t practice much, I like Spanish Music. I also like to check-out the Spanish TV Stations, especially the music videos and concerts.

 On TV, there is SAP (Second Audio Programming) that allows various shows in English to be listened to in Spanish.  I think the Spanish channels should do a “Reverse SAP” and make audio in English available. This might open up a whole new audience to Spanish TV. And I would like it!

(This is a showdown between the living sweetheart and the dead legend…flip a coin and you’ll have just as much chance of winning your bet as anyone)

I think it is pretty clear that this year/decade will be marked by the untimely death of Pop (cultural) icon Michael Jackson. You have definitly NOT seen your last MJ tribute, Jackson family member’s relentless self promotion or memorial video montage. So be prepared…this night is all about him. Janet is performing, the Jacksons will be scattered around the audience, they will accept awards on his behalf, other winners will pay homage to him in their speeches, there will be tears…and you will be sitting at home wishing someone else would win. I have already resigned myself to this unfortunate reality.

But the performances will be a HOT ticket…everyone who has had a hit song this year is on the docket. Some standouts will be the re-emergence of Whitney Houston (similar to Britney circa 2007…could be a trainwreck, could be a career rebirth), Taylor Swift, Lady GaGa (her costume team and pyro guys are really in the spotlight here), Rihanna (new album, new look…the world’s sympathy), Janet Jackson (she’s the closest looking and sounding to the real thing…), J-LO (excuse me, Miss Jennifer Lopez-Anthony…who cares as long as she has the same abs…am I right?) Adam Lambert (as long as he doesnt sing that insipid song written by a certain Idol judge…let Kris bear that cross the rest of his career)  …and many more announced/speculated…

Those are my predictions, I’m not making any life-altering wagers on any of my picks…but  I will bet my right arm on the fact that Michael Jackson would be a pretty safe choice (or drinking game…) for most betters.
