Heya guys and girls and welcome to my top telly blog entry. If you are a regular visitor then you’ll know that I haven’t posted a blog entry (that is not a news update) for quite a while now and if you follow me on twitter then you’ll now that I have been writing some new material for my blog so I am back on track. I am going to tell y’all a brief description of my fave television shows.

Everybody Hates Chris

Although it is titled ‘Everybody Hates Chris’ and my name just so happens to be CHRIS and it ended in the fall of this year (2009), I am still a big fan of this show. I think it is very original and humorous. My favorite episode is entitled ‘Everybody Hates Homecoming’ and is a spoof of another one of my fave shows called…

The Cosby Show

This is perhaps one of the most famous sitcoms and was the first sitcom to feature an all black cast. I am a really big fan and am happy that they started to re -air old episodes. If they didn’t then kids of the 21st century wouldn’t of seen where popular comedy actress Raven Symone began her work as a child actress which brings me nicely onto my next show which is entitled…

That’s So Raven

Do you recognise this little girl?

Do you see the resemblance? OK, what was I saying? Oh yes, ‘That’s So Raven’ is a great show although I do not like the concept of Raven being a physic. The show follows the story of Raven Baxter being a physic teen who foresees things before they happen and it’s her duty to stop them. She needs the help of her friends. The way she attempts to stop things from happening are hilarious! When the show ended on November 10, 2007, I was devastated like many fans were. But when I found out that a similar show was being made for Nickelodeon (rival channel for Disney channel home of ‘That’s So Raven’) that did not involve physics, i was ecstatic! The show would be called…

True Jackson, VP.

True Jackson has always dreamed of becoming a fashion designer and is overjoyed when she is discovered selling sandwiches in a fashion magazine lobby. They are so impressed with her that they promote her to the job title of vice president of the teen section of the magazine.

I love this show as well as many others including: iCarly, Drake and Josh, Waterloo Road, Outnumbered, Suite Life, Spongebob, 90210, Friends and Smallville.

Well, yes we can. Never underestimate the power of hungry brown people with fame and glory being dangled in front of them like a deep fried american cheese taco wrapped in bacon served with a side of sour cream.

BDCTV’s sexy co-host Jenna Riot has decided to use her world takeover talents to infiltrate the fashion industry! What better way to do that but to become Forever 21’s poster girl. Once they accept her as their own she will preach to them the values of BrownDownCrown and our household name recognition will soon become a reality.

Ms. Riot is now one of the finalists in the Faith 21 (F21’s plus size line) ‘Most Stylish Gal Search‘. Not only will she win $500 (which is a lot of Popeyes!) but she will be flown out to LA for a photoshoot and meet the foxxxy Mia Tyler (daughter of lead singer of Aerosmith). BrownDownCrown and rockstar go hand in hand so you see – this plan is almost foolproof.

BUT WE NEED YOUR HELP! VOTE FOR JENNA RIOT EVERY DAY ON THE FOREVER 21 WEBSITE TO ENSURE SHE WINS SO BROWNDOWNCROWN CAN TAKE OVER THE WORLD!

click here to vote — you have to register yr email address — you get one vote every day until December 7th. Tell your friends. Yr frenemies. And the tweens — whatever u do make sure you text a tween to vote for Jenna Riot.

Parenthood. An enlightening pathway of firsts. Many of these firsts bring smiles to our faces and we beam with pride. But there are other firsts – ones that can turn a smile upside down. The first time a trip to the grocery store becomes a battle between you and your precious about boxes of cereal, containers of yogurt, boxes of juice and other items bearing the lovable characters that danced on your TV screen, were emblazoned on diapers, blankets and countless other accoutrements to child care.

The first time my 4 year old daughter argued with her mother/my wife over who the cutest Jonas Brother was, while reading their cover Story in ‘Time Out New York,’ was around the first time I glanced the ages of the actors on the screen of these ‘tween’ shows on various networks, and my bat senses tingled. Had my not-yet-five-year-old reached that age so soon? I could hardly stand to sit-through what she was watching with any semblance of interest, and for the first time felt an inkling of a generation gap. Was my girl ready to watch teenagers flirting, see them dressed in revealing clothing and assuming attitudes with authority figures (and to undoubtedly learn these behaviors)? There was maybe a period of four to six weeks during which the time before dinner was spent by my daughter in front of the tube. During this period, there was a noticable transformation beginning, helped on by the themes, values and language featured on the shows on Children’s cable television that were being watched by many of her peers.

During this time, my girl regularly watched “Sponge Bob Square Pants,” “The Wizards of Waverly Place,” “Jonas,” “Hannah Montana,” and “The Suite Life of Zack & Cody.”

I hated walking into the room only to be completely ignored. I would ask her a question or tell her dinner was ready, but she would not fix her glance on me for even a second. My only choice was to grab the little silver tablet with buttons on it, a portal to another dimension, and press the ‘power’ button. The screen would darken, the sound would disappear, programming of her impressionable young brain was complete for the day, and my daughter was back.

Shortly thereafter, I spoke to Red Pill Mama on the phone about the perils of ‘tween’ shows for underage audiences, and her words gave validity to my thoughts. These shows were not appropriate for 5 year-olds, nor six, seven, eight, nine or ten-year-olds. However, many parents were letting their young boys and girls watch programs; probably without giving them a second thought. Literally from that day, I learned how to use parental control on all of the cable boxes in my home, and many of the shows our daughter had a brief introduction to, she now knows that she can watch when she turns eleven!

Fast forward a couple of months – months without viewing the ‘tween’ shows – and I can honestly say that I have got my little girl back, acting and talking in the way that I would expect a five-year-old to girl to talk and behave – so glad to have taken the red pill, acted on my inklings and verbalized the thoughts that were bouncing around in my brain.

*****

I am excited that we will be sharing experiences and discussing issues that pertain to today’s parents. I hope that together we can explore ways to be more informed and proactive parents.

There will be staff in attendance around the clock at the rink for security and, guess what? The rink is open rain or shine.

Admission to skate is $8 for adults, $5 for children (12 and under), and skate rental is $2. The rink is open to the public 10AM-10PM every day. (Of course rink hours may vary on holidays.)

Now we know you’re thinking, what about parking? (It’s because we thought that too– having to find parking has actually deterred us from events in the past.) Parking is available anytime for $5 at 1161 20th Street Garage (enter on 20th between K and L St), evenings after 5PM and weekends for $2 at 17th Street East End Garage (enter on 17th between Capitol Ave and L St), and evenings after 5PM and weekends at the parking lots at 2220 J Street and 1815 K Street. We know, that was a lot of “and”s.

This 10K run and 5K run/walk is attended by massive amounts of people– this year’s participation is expected to be well over 30,000 runners and walkers.

The Run to Feed the Hungry is a true family friendly activity. Children who are too young to walk on their own can be pushed in strollers or worn in baby carriers and the pace is completely set by you and your family. We have made a tradition of getting up early, making cinnamon rolls and enjoying warm cider or hot chocolate before we head out. This year will be the first year for our little 10 month old peanut and we’ve got the scarves, beanies and jogger stroller ready!

Race day looks like this:
7:30-9AM Registration
8:45AM 10K run begins
9:05AM 5K run begins
5K fun runners, walkers, strollers, & baby joggers to follow 5k runners

It is not too late to register and you can even wait until the day of the event to sign up. Registration is $35 for adults ($40 day of) and $20 for children which includes the signature RTFTH t-shirt (subject to availability if you wait until race day).

Don’t forget the whole reason for the event is to support the Sacramento Food Bank:

Run to Feed the Hungry has become an annual holiday tradition for countless area families. Beginning in 1994 with only 800 runners, the event now ranks as Sacramento Valley’s largest annual run & fun run/walk. In 2008, over 28,000 participants attended and we met our goal of raising $750,000 for Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services. As we approach our 16th year we look forward to another record crowd and donations topping $800,000.

The race begins at CSU Sacramento and winds through the streets of East Sacramento. For a map click here and for more information click here or call 916.712.5366.

Chapter 1

The halls of Whispering Springs Middle School rang with laughter, joking, and teasing. High-pitched chatter and friendly shouts of greeting ricocheted off the walls. Locker doors clanged open, clattered shut. A banner reading GO COYOTES fluttered from the ceiling. The smell of freshly waxed floors stung my nostrils.

I sighed. My first day in eighth grade started out the same as seventh grade, sixth grade, fifth grade, and all the way back to kindergarten. Unless a new student had enrolled, I was still the tallest person, boy or girl, in school.

And my feet … I yanked open the locker door and stuffed my gym shoes, or rather my canoes, inside. I wasn’t about to let anyone see they’d fit an elephant, with room to spare. My feet were trying to set a record for gianthood and doing a good job of it. Turn green with envy, Sasquatch. I bet your feet never grew two sizes in one summer. I made a mental note to walk carefully so not to tromp on other kids’ toes and break their bones. Eew. Painful.

During the summer I actually had believed that when I reached the magical number thirteen, I’d be transformed into this gorgeous, teeage creature, like my sister Sara, seventeen, soft, wavy hair, size-six feet. I’d been thirteen two whole months now, and I’d changed all right, but not in the way I had in mind. Take my mouth for instance.

I ran my tongue over my teeth. Yup. Still there. Those silver-colored braces that blinded anyone within ten feet. To make matters worse, I picked my favorite color, blue, for the rubber bands, thinking they’d look cool. Instead, they made my teeth look like moldy marshmallows. One consolation–the braces were temporary, unlike my body parts I was stuck with forever.

Mom said I placed too much emphasis on my appearance. Easy for her to say. She didn’t look like a clown with wild hair that played by its own rules. Clown? Hey. That was it. I’d join the circus. I could see the billboard now: Star Attraction–Breeze Brannigan, the Glow-in-the-Dark, Orange Sherbet Creature from Outer Space.

I used to be a big fan of Tweener before, but now its all TweenMax in my projects for the last 6-7 months or so. There a loads of features I can talk about right now which I absolutely love but may be I would explain them sometime later.

For now, I just want to say that I have now become a Shockingly Green Club GreenSock member and I would certainly encourage other developers to donate for all the effort Jack has been putting into making this platform so wonderful.

This book is one of my all time faves so you can imagine how happy I was when I heard it was going to be made into a tv movie for the BBC. Yes, that’s right, I was ecstatic! Now today I am going to review the book. If you have read it and you are a fan of the author then you should also check out his book called ‘Cosmic’ about a teenage boy who is sent into space.

The book is set in a kind of diary format. Well it isn’t actually a diary, it’s more of a log book because the Hughes family run their own business called: ‘Snowdonia Oasis Auto Marvel garage’ in which they sell all sorts of things you’ll find in a newsagent mixed with a petrol station.

When a group of mysterious vans go up the mountain near their shop (In Mandon, Wales) the whole towns starts to gossip, but Dylan Hughes, the only boy in the family who is also in charge of the log is very confused and interested. He is determined to find out what they are up to. Does the title ‘Framed’ give you any clue of what they are bringing up to the mountain?

about killing my self. I have known since my kids were born that I would not commit suicide until they leave the house. Maybe a couple of years after to make sure they are doing ok. That is why I went to the doctor today, I have a 12 year old who also has mental problems, and why should he suffer because of me. As it is, they have to put up with a dirty house, an unavailable mother at night ( I turn in to a raving bitch at night ) so that I don’t scream at them or the husband. I hardly cook anymore and barely leave my office which is next to my bedroom.

I was hoping to find other people who had the same feelings and thoughts, but I can’t find anyone being as candid as I am. I do would like to commiserate with others like my self. So, if you are reading this and have a blog like this, let me know so that I can visit yours.

Laura’s Blog Entry

Mari and I spend a good bit of time in the car. We drive to and from school, as well as across town to dance class twice a week. We listen to podcasts and music to pass the time. Lately she has been mentioning when a song comes on that she likes, so I asked her if she wanted me to make a custom mix for her MP3 player. She said, “Yes!”

I wanted to give her a good smattering of my favorite music, choosing songs that I thought would appeal to her as well as have a message appropriate for her age.

It’s not that easy, folks! Just try to find a song by The Smiths that’s OK for an 11-year-old. Here I present to you:

Mari’s Tween Mix

“Love Song”
Sara Bareille
She requested this one. It’s a favorite with her and her friends. Gotta grab her attention right off the bat, don’t I? This is a good pop song. Fun to sing along to. I like that we both can belt it out as we drive along.

“Bryan Sometimes”
Venus Hum
She asked for this one, too. It’s off their new album Mechanics & Mathematics. I’ve gone on and on about this album already, so I’ll spare you now. But we love it! Best line: “And that miserable mouth. It needs a washout.”

“Cornflake Girl”
Tori Amos
When Mari was a baby, there were a few bits of music that would stop her colicky screaming. Tori’s album Under the Pink was one of them. Another was opera. Go figure. Now whenever I put Tori on she always says, “What’s this?” I think it got planted deep in her subconscious.

“Let’s Dance to Joy Division”
The Wombats
I didn’t think Joy Division was right for this mix, since I was keeping it light, but I snuck in a reference to them with this song. It’s fun and has a children’s chorus at the end. What’s not to love?

“Good Tradition”
Tanita Tikaram
Neil and I played Tanita’s first album, Ancient Heart, to death back in the 90’s. It was a very fresh sound at the time. I really like her low, deep vocals. She sounds wiser than her 20-some years on that record. I thought Mari would enjoy this little quirky gem.

“Only You”
Yaz(oo)
Is it wrong to put a song on a mix for your child from an album given to you by an ex-boyfriend? Aw, why not. Not that many tween-safe love songs out there these days. Thanks Vince and Alison.

“Bellevue Hill Park”
Satellite City
This is Tony Miracle’s (of Venus Hum) solo project. This is where he does more experimental and off-the-beaten-path kind of stuff. The song is from his Cincinnati Modern album. I put it on because Mari got to be in a video that was shot for Tony to use when he plays live. They shot it in Bellevue Hill Park, which has amazing contemporary architecture.

“Tom’s Diner”
Suzanne Vega
What a classic. A little a capella is good for the soul. I adore Suzanne Vega and her narrative writing style. Mari should learn to love her sooner rather than later, if you ask me.

“Is It Really So Strange?”
The Smiths
After listening to about 10 or 15 songs by The Smiths I deemed this one acceptable. It says something about killing a nun, but it’s the best I could do. I wanted something like this with a catchy tune to get her hooked on them.

“Happy with Myself?”
Over the Rhine
This is vintage Over the Rhine, off their album Eve. The gist of the song goes like this: “I’m happy with myself. Cause I don’t have what it takes to please you.” I am hoping I can get this message deep into Mari’s brain before the dating begins. Wish this song had been around when I was 11.

“The Way I Am”
Ingrid Michaelson
Yes, the propaganda is in full force at this point. Mari marches to her own drum, and I want to keep reinforcing that. Stick with the people who “get” you and dismiss the opinions of the rest.

“A Good Thing”
Saint Etienne
Gotta keep the electronic stuff in there. If you can resist singing along to this one I question if you have a pulse. This is the music I put on if I am dragging and need to get stuff done.

“Bizarre Love Triangle”
New Order
Dance why don’t ya? This song from New Order is one of my best memories from clubbing in the 80’s. Plus another way to tie to Joy Division. Perfect.

“A Little Respect”
Erasure
Oh yes, I like the direction this is going! Synthpoppy goodness. What could be next?

“The Meaning of Love”
Depeche Mode
You knew this was coming. Finding a Depeche Mode song is almost as tricky as The Smiths. So I went with the early works of Mr. Gore. I always liked this song. It makes me happy. It’s only the slightest bit cynical. Cause love is “something like wanting a scar.”

“Friday I’m in Love”
The Cure
Can’t leave them out. This is lighthearted and happy. And contains one of my favorite Cure lyrics: “Always take a big bite, it’s such a gorgeous sight, to see you eat in the middle of the night.” Oh Bob, you say the sweetest things.

“Reflecting Light”
Sam Phillips
Sam is one of my all time favorite songwriters and vocalists. The song is from the wonderful album A Boot and a Shoe. The lyrics just sum up what I hope for my child. That she continues to make her own way. May she always be reflecting light.

Note from author: Sorry that I haven’t posted a blog in ages!!

The first Beano issue was released on September 1st 1938, nearly one year before World War 2. Little did the Beano makers know that the Beano would go on to be a great success!

Right now in 2009, The Beano is still going strong and have recently celebrated 3500 issues. There are many fans and it has become a trend to collect them for adults and children alike. I’m not surprised considering it’s the most affordable comic out there. Personally, I have been collecting the Beano now for about 3 years and have over 100 issues. Every week they release a new issue that includes a new storyline for each regular and sometimes special extra characters. There are many characters but here are a few of the nations favorite.

Rodger the Dodger

Minnie the Minx

Derek the Sheep

Camility James

Les Pretend

Rats

And how could we forget Dennis the Menace and Gnasher.

He is the Beano’s most recognisable and iconic character. He even has his own tv show, but we’ll get to that later.

Overall, I think the Beano is the best magazine because not only is it the cheapest magazine but it’s the most entertaining and funny if I may say so myself. They have had many celebs geust star in their comic strips including:

Strictly Come Dancing cast

CBBC presenters

Newsround Presenters

Wallace and Gromit.

The creator of Wallace and Gromit was a guest editor in the Beano for one week to celebrate Wallace and Gromit’s 20th Anniversary. There was a free mini pull-out magazine. On special occasions, the Beano includes an extra – long story including all of the characters clashing and meeting up with one another. Over the years our favourite cartoon characters; Dennis and Gnasher have taken many shapes and revamps. He has even had his own television show (twice!) and has starred in two (American) movies! He is by far the most successful Beano character that has ever walked the Beano planet!

His second tv show was made and shown this year on the CBBC channel and was a big hit. Check out their cool website at: http://www.dennisandgnasher.com/ and the beano’s at: http://beanotown.com/

Today while working on AS3 project which uses Tween, encountered a weired issue which causes the Twe

Today while working on AS3 project which uses Tween, encountered a weired issue which causes the Tween to Freeze. This could be a pretty old issue, anyways here were the issue that i encountered and also possible ways of resolving that.

The code that causing the issue was due to the Tween was stored in a local variable and the variable might be garbage collected before the completion of the scripted motion.

Tween Code which may cause Freeze (Buggy)
function someFunction()
{
var myTween:Tween= new Tween(myObject, “x”, Elastic.easeOut, 0, 300, 3, true);
myTween.addEventListener(TweenEvent.MOTION_FINISH, listenerFunction);
// …
}

To prevent the tween code that causes Freeze , Here were few steps that we can do

1. Storing the tween variable globally.

Even if there is an event listener registered for an object, the object may be garbage collected if it’s a local variable ( with the scope of a function). To prevent this, declare the variable globally as in the following.

var myTween:Tween;

function someFunction()
{
myTween = new Tween(myObject, “x”, Elastic.easeOut, 0, 300, 3, true);
myTween.addEventListener(TweenEvent.MOTION_FINISH, listenerFunction);
// …
}

(Took this from Flash documentation, it is weird the way Flash Performs Garbage collection L or I am missing something here?)

2.Using Tween to Keep Reference in the memory until the tween motion is completed, This can be achieved by using Dictionary class or using a custom class to manage the way tween is garbage collected.

Some times in the morning I feel hopefull. After my 20 minutes convincing my self to get out of bed, I get up and think this will be a good day. I got up wanting to come and write my thoughts. I am a little anxious and exited to get all of this bullshit out of my head. Hoping than someone other than me will read it. It does make me feel better to write. Maybe so many people will want to read my trash that I will be able to make money out of this blog and

river betwenn two mountains

and I will not have to leave my house. So I go check to see if my blog name “liveitwell” is available, and of course it is not. One of those fucking idiots who make a living buying domain names wholesale has bought it and is happy to sell it to me for thousands of dollars. Shit, when I get some money I will go buy me a good name. Something like “don’t kill your self” ” remember your son will not survive without you and you’ll ruin your dauthers life” “shit.com”

I haven’t made a penny since October 2009, and my husband gives me very little money, so now I don’t leave the house unless I have to . I was able to get hold of some money this year and went and paid the membership for the health club, as I have put on so much weighth, but I just don’t have the desire to go. I have always gone to the gym if it was available, now it is too much effort and I hate looking at those happy people with their skinny bodies, or the fat fucks hoping to loose weight. Like their skin isn’t going to hang out and look disgusting, if they do loose the weight. I have to say that if people are nice I don’t care if they are fat or not. They do look beautifull to me. I hate looking in the mirror.

I had a crappy friend who had bariatric surgery lost like 70 pounds and with clothes on looks great. But we used to go to the beach during the summers, and I hated to see how she thought she was so hot, but her skin just hanged loose as she walked with her leather skin from too much sun and the tacky tattos. She would also flirt with the teen life guards, and really thought that they would flirt back. I could see how the boys would make fun of her as soon as she would walk back to our spot. I am happy to say, we are no longer friends by her choice. If I think I have a crappy life, I wonder why she doesn’t kill her self. She really has nothing going for her self. I will tell you about her in a future post.

I know I sound like a disgusting human being in this blog, but that is the purpose of this. To write all the shit that goes through my head that I would never have the guts to tell other people. Believe it or not people like me and love me, they think that I am a nice person. If they just knew.

What they promise

What you get

After reading a fellow blogger post on taking his son to Hooters, i was very surprised by the photo he included. Though it was very helpful to his case that waitresses exhibited minimal sexuality, i was shocked to see how little she resembled the “Hooters girl” image we have all come to know and love.

What is Hooters coming to when they resort to waitresses who are, as AOL parent dish states, “fairly average-looking.”

Publicity like this certainly can’t reflect well on Hooters. While this article reached the huddled masses due to its controversial content, there’s really no way that this photo has anyone racing to Hooters to get a look at the dream girl. This pale, flat chested waitress, with her un-styled hair and bad haircut is a poor excuse for a Hooters representative and a huge disappointment.

Whats going on Hooters? Why are you no longer trying to impress your customer base. Whether its just the Fairfax, VA location that the waitress labeled “Catherine” works at, or Hooters waitresses world wide, it seems to me they have become a bit sloppy.

前回のマイtwitter環境(iPhone編)に引き続き、PCでのマイTwitter環境を紹介したいと思います。

● Twitter用クライアント

tween
Windows

● Firefox+Greasemonkey

pbtweet
twitterを便利に使うための拡張スクリプトです。
導入するとつぶやきに日本語翻訳ボタンとRTボタンがつきます。

さらに自分の発言は下のようにメンションの流れが吹き出しで視覚化されます！

Firefox使いなら入れておいて損はないです！超おすすめ！

GoogleReader+twitter

● Webサービス

Twilog
Twitter

refollow
