Twitter is definitely one of the hottest social networking sites around. Tweeters or so we call ours

<ins><ins></ins></ins>

Twitter is definitely one of the hottest social networking sites around. Tweeters or so we call ourselves post 140-character messages to their followers. Tweeter is microblogging at its best!

Do you want to have a rising number of followers?

How can YOU??

This is not a paid review about tweeter.com. I just wanted to share a way how you can get 1000+ followers in Tweeter without a sweat!

Building your followers at Tweeter can be a daunting task. You’d have to manually “follow” each tweeter and hope he’d follow you. Getting 100 followers would take days!

However, if you are a blogger who wants to promote your blog to 1000+ followers every time you have a new post (or just about anything to promote) you’d want to know how to short circuit this process.

Read on how to build 1000+ followers in 1 day.

Step : Get a twitter account. (if you haven’t got one already… duh)

Step : Avoid self promotion

Step : find interesting links

Step : reply to your tweeps

Step : Engage your Tweeps

Step : Retweet and people will Retweet you

Step : Variety pays, Keep a steady main but try other topics
Step :

Create A Twitter Followers Base

Now that you have set up an inviting Twitter profile, it is time to start getting what I call a “followers base”. A followers base is a certain amount of Twitter users that will follow you back for sure. These users are not targeted for you but having a decent amount of followers will build your credibility among Twitter users looking at your profile, and it will increase your chances of being followed.

Step : Get a twitter account. (if you haven’t got one already… duh)Step 2: Get a Greasemonkey add-on.

Step : Get a tweeter friend adder script.

Step : Install the tweeter friend adder script to Greasemonkey. Activate your Greasemonkey firefox add-on by clicking on the icon on the lower right corner of your browser window.

Step : Log on to your tweeter account.

Step : Choose anybody in your network who has a lot of followers.

Step : Choose “follow all”.

Catch(es). Er, this method doesn’t go without a catch though. Don’t worry, you won’t have to pay a thing for using the tweeter friend adder with Greasemonkey.

1. You have to be using Firefox. [Download Firefox here.]

2. Tweeter imposes a limit on the number of people you can follow. But there’s a way to work around that limit imposed by tweeter. You can follow up to 1000 tweeter without having to deal with Tweeter’s limit.

3. You can’t choose the people you are going to follow. Once you click “follow all” Greasemonkey will just do just that on autopilot.

4. You’ll still have to wait for people to follow you. My experience is that around 90% of those you follow will reciprocate the favor.

complete yout tweeter with applications like

Twitpic, Tweetdeck, Twitterfeed, Twitterholic, Hellotxt, Twittercounter, Twhirl, Twitturly, Twtpoll, Retweetist, Tweepler, Twitdom, Tweetscan, Tweetburner, Tweetvisor, Twitterfall, Monitter, Twibs, Twistori, Twitbin and follow me on Tweeter! for more updates

Oh come on! I know you can relate!

This was an image that I reblogged some time this week. I just made a Tumblr account last week and as much as I hate spammers, I think I have become one myself.

I have a total of ten different online accounts–Facebook, Twitter, Plurk, Blogger, YouTube, Friendster, two Multiply (personal and that of LMS) accounts, WordPress (of course!), and the latest addition yet already “overly used” account **drum rolls** Tumblr.

Don’t ask me about my email address because I have four–two in Gmail, and another two in Ymail. For instant messaging, I also do Skype, Chikka, and Yahoo Messenger, of course.

All these basically have the same features–profile customization, security or privacy settings, networking, photo and video uploading, and the search box. Some are simply better than the rest.

1. Facebook

Facebook

Unlike Friendster, Facebook implements a better privacy feature. Also, it is easier to decide whether to confirm or ignore a contact invite because you can readily see if you have any mutual friend/s. In Friendster, it’s necessary to open first the profile of that person trying to add you as contact.

Others may not like this restricting feature of Facebook but actually, it’s what I like most about this SNS. I think the purpose behind this is that what Facebook wants is that people share an online experience with people that they already knew–whether it’s a close friend or a friend of a friend.

The applications such as the quizzes, trivia, quote finders, and games are equally interesting and fun. Currently, aside from trying to maintain a spot in the Topblogs top 20, I’ve also been trying to increase my rank in Cafe World.

For someone who wants everything colorful, I think what’s lacking in Facebook is that you can’t customize your profile. Not that it’s a bad thing for Facebook because with the variety of applications that they offer, having a uniform layout and setup is an advantage for them.

2. Friendster

Friendster

My Friendster account is 5 years old (and I wouldn’t have known this fact if I hadn’t checked my Friendster profile saying I was a member since July 2004.) This was my first SNS account.

I used to like Friendster because it was where everyone was. We just changed residence then and I lost my SIM card so this was the only means for me to be in touch with my elementary friends. It’s funny thinking about those times when I would ask people to make me a “testi” and in return, I’ll make one for them too. HAHAHA

Now, all I do with Friendster is to check the upcoming birthdays. For this reason, Friendster is most reliable because everyone I know has a Friendster account, be it active or inactive.

Despite the evident change in people’s taste or interest (which I think is the reason behind the shift or transfer of the audience to other SNS), I don’t think Friendster is dying. I know a lot of pre-teens who are still signing onto their Friendster accounts, actively answering surveys in the Bulletin, leaving testimonials of course, and changing their shoutouts and layouts every now and then. However, Friendster is not thriving either because the new and improved Friendster is actually a make-up of bits of ideas from other SNS like Facebook and Twitter.

3. Plurk

Plurk

Of all my SNS accounts, Plurk was something I joined to due to the bandwagon. The higher your karma points is, the more flexible and interesting Plurk becomes because new features becomes available for your use. Unfortunately, I didn’t know that trying to achieve Plurk Nirvana was that tedious. What makes Plurk unique is that it makes you curious “what’s new?” everytime you advance to a higher level of karma points. As time progresses, “what’s new?” becomes “what now?”. Once a plurker achieved the highest possible karma points, what can Plurk still offer?

Three things I love most about Plurk are: (a) the emoticons, especially the dancing bananas; (b) the verb change feature (is, likes, thinks, wishes, etc.); and (c) the “mark all as read” option because sometimes, you just can’t read all those plurks and comment on each. What I usually do is I choose the interesting ones and mark all the others as read. HAHA

However, when it’s the same thing over and over again, you can’t help but lose interest. The appeal through aesthetics doesn’t really last, at least for someone like me. Unlike Facebook which always has something new to offer, Plurk before and now is as ease.

While trying to search which came first between Plurk and Twitter, I saw this article that explains the origin of “Plurk” as a term.

People + Lurk = Plurk

Play + Work: Play-Work.

Peace, Love, Unity, Respect, Karma

Verb potential: “Oh I googled this -> Oh I plurked it”

Source:http://www.readwriteweb.com/archives/plurk_unique_or_just_another_t.php

4. Multiply

LMS Multiply

Multiply (personal)

I had my Multiply account back in Freshman years. So yes, that was the only time I started blogging. Aside from its blog feature, I also like it that I can label my contacts based on my relationship with them because it makes choosing or selecting the readers and viewers of my blogs, photos, and videos easier.

I don’t upload much photos then because unlike Friendster where I can select all the photos at once before I click the Upload button, Multiply requires you to click those pictures one at a time. Now, Multiply (just like Friendster) redesigned their system, but then again, it wasn’t all that unique. Still I must say that Multiply TODAY is better. They now have a chat feature. Also, the current set-up is easier to operate. The Multiply Autouploader really uploads automatically. HAHA. It made photo and video uploading effortless.

5. Blogger

Blogger

Unlike other children who hesitates to tell stories to their parents, I was always like reporting what happened to me from the time I left the house until the time I got home. I was just too talkative. My dad told me to maintain a journal when I was in grade school. He didn’t say the reason but probably because he got tired of listening to me. Anyway, I think that was the time when I lessened the storytelling habit. I will just leave my diary besides my bed and if they’re curious what happened to my day, they’re free to read it.

Of course, things changed when I grew up and matured. My journal is now locked in a very secret place not even a rodent can find. HAHA. I just made a Blogger account last last month, and my blog posts are already thrice the number of my commblogs I posted. This Blogger account serves as my online diary.

Blogger’s features are light; it is easy to use and it’s very simple. My Blogger account used to be open for public to view but when we talked about online reputation, I realized that not all my posts may be self-redeeming in the eyes of other people; and of course, I wouldn’t want my future employers to see that. HAHA

6. Twitter

Twitter

I was first a Plurker before a Twitterer. The way I describe Twitter before was “parang Plurk lang.” However, judging by the number of plurk counts and tweets I’ve made, I’m enjoying Twitter more.

Despite Plurk’s etymology, I must say that people lurking is more of a Twitter feature. Also, Twitter is proven to be more useful as it is being used as a platform for news updates, advertising, marketing and promotion by other companies and sometimes, people such as celebrities and bloggers.

Re-tweet (RT) and hashtags are Twitter’s unique features. I’ve observed this during the height of Typhoon Ondoy’s attack. With re-tweet, it’s much easier to spread the news without owning it. For hashtags, all I have to do is to type #Ondoy on the search box above trending topics and all tweets regarding Ondoy fill the screen.

#Ondoy search results

Another thing that I like about Twitter is that same as Facebook, I can update my status using the first-person point-of-view. In Plurk, most of the time, it’s the third person because of the use of some qualifiers.

There are also a lot of Twitter applications that allows me to tweet even when I’m not on the Twitter Web page. I’ve used Tweetdeck before. Now, I’m using Twhirl, which is basically like Tweetdeck, only made more organized and not space consuming. The only difference is that it’s specific to Twitter, unlike Tweetdeck which allows you to update even your Facebook status.

There are only two problems I see on Twitter: (a) you only get to build relationship with those whom you follow and follows you in return. For celebrities whom you follow, or for strangers who follow you, it’s a one-way, linear communication; and (b) it;s hard to maintain or follow the conversation because comments are to be made as separate tweets. Retweeting the ‘tweet’ that you would like to comment on is not really an option since there is a 140-characters limit (just like Plurk), unless of course your comments are basically “HAHA” or “LOL” or “Agree!.”

7. Tumblr

Tumblr

Tumblr is the recent addition to my online accounts. If Plurk has “karma points”, Tumblr has “tumblarity.” If Twitter has “retweet,” Tumblr has “reblog.”

Reblog allows you to easily copy content from other Tumblr users, but of course, credit is given to the original user who uploaded or found the content. Unlike all the other online accounts I have, Tumblr does not allow photo or blog comments so a comment or interpretation of a photoblog may be done through reblogging.

Tumblr basically has the same features as a blog. You can make a blog post, upload photos and videos, and place links. Following Tumblr postings is as easy as following a blog in Blogger. Liking a post is just the same as liking an update in Facebook, only with different icons.

What sets Tumblr apart from the others is that it’s somehow concentrated on the artistic side of people. What’s even nicer is that the more I encounter creative Tumblr posts–whether it’s a picture of a cookie or a Photoshopped image–the more inspired I strive to become creative myself.

—

If you think I haven’t been updating all these accounts, you’re wrong. #7 in my 2009 New Year’s Resolution says that I have to “regularly update all online accounts.” Actually, even if this is not in my resolution, nothing would have changed. I didn’t even know I had that in my NYR until last week when I sorted out some files in my desktop.

Also, updating each of those online accounts is not very stressful and confusing at all due to some applications that allow you to post status updates in only one account, and it will be automatically posted in some of your other accounts. For this, I’m using Plurk. If I simply want to greet everyone “good morning,” I will just have to post that to my Plurk page and it will be copied to my Facebook and Twitter page. This helps build consistency over ones thoughts online. But of course, Plurk allows its users to toggle this option. I just have to include !TW at the end of my plurk if I don’t want it to appear in my Twitter page; !FB is the code for Facebook.

—

Bottom-line:

So what really is the joy of having 10 online accounts (not that I’m encouraging anyone to be online as much as I do)??? Maybe it’s the limitless possibilities for human interaction.

With all those accounts, I get to reestablish relationships in a whole new environment, and the fact that whatever it is that’s happening online continues offline doesn’t make these relationships virtual (i.e. of course if we will not count the relationship I have with the celebrities I follow in Twitter.) at all.

The ability to publish content, whether it’s a must-know information or just ranting, without restriction is actually just a plus factor for me. The other bonus features of course will be the various applications that make the online experience easier and more fun.

A year ago I wrote a blog post comparing Twhirl to TweetDeck. So far, it was a very successful blog

A year ago I wrote a blog post comparing Twhirl to TweetDeck. So far, it was a very successful blog post with lots of visits and direct traffic from search engines. It could be due to the timing, or maybe comparison posts are very search engine friendly, or that it was just useful, helping people to decide which twitter desktop client works for them.

Since a year is a long time on the web I decide to revisit my findings and to check what has changed during this period. Based on this Mashable blog post from early February 2009 TweetDeck is by all mean the winner. A similar post from Techcrunch supports these findings too. The most recent TwitStat report from October 5th, 2009, shows TweetDeck with 12.82% of users and twhirl with 0.07% of the users. The next serious contender (and one of the selected top 5 based on a recent survey done by lifehacker) from Seesmic (twhirl was bought by seesmic in April 2008) is the new Seesmic client with 3.8% market share.

Up until recently I was one of the 0.07% that were still using Twhirl. I do also use TweetDeck. I used Twhirl at work because of its tiny condensed screen. Twhirl was really good at utilizing window real-estate and it allowed me to use twitter more discreetly in the office. TweetDeck on the other hand let you see more of twitter and other life stream social networks in a single glance when it is maximized. I used it more in the evenings, at home.

I recently replaced twhirl with the new Seesmic client. So now it is time to compare TweetDeck vs. Seesmic Desktop. In this post I will mainly describe the differences, feature-wise, between the TweetDeck and Seesmic applications. I will also cover what has changed since my last examination. You can assume the rest to be the same.

Features that are in TweetDeck and not in Seesmic:

Trending topics and Tag Cloud – via TwitScoop, TweetDeck shows what is going on right now on the web. This is a killer feature and having this view locally on the desktop ensure that you won’t miss a beat. This feature was already there when I first reviewed TweetDeck, yet it is still a big differentiator.

Integration with 12 seconds – not new and not a deal breaker for me

Unique timelines views – there are many twitter time-line types views like: all friend (home), Mentions(@replies), Direct messages (Private), Favorites, Facebook, and Search results. Both applications shows all these view types. TweetDeck offers few more unique time-line views:

* StockTwits view for people sharing trading information. It is not a bad idea to add more niche community timeline views. Hint: look at the #litchat hashtag.

* TweetDeck recommend which is a group of people on twitter that TweetDeck thinks highly of. This could be a useful service for people who just joined twitter and can learn what to do and what not on twitter.

* Groups – in this great feature TweetDeck provides a very efficient way to construct new timelines following groups of people. I have my “experts” groups for all sort of subjects. Metaphorically, a group provides you with a new lens looking into the twitter update stream. A group is a filter. Harnessing good group members ensure great stream of information. It is a great way to avoid spam.

*MySpace – I don’t have MySpace account but I guess that this is very helpful to have just single desktop client that could brings friends feeds from any desired social network. I noticed that I do more with Facebook just because I have it locally via my twitter desktop client.

Mark all as Seen, Clear seen tweets and Show what is popular in this column – all great and useful features that are helping to manage the time-line. I don’t understand yet why it is not available on the TweetDeck recommend column ??.

TweetDeck multiple accounts. This, for me, was the most significant reason for sticking with twhirl. Now, actually, I think that TweetDeck is doing better job handling multiple accounts than Seesmic. Switching from account to account in the Compose Update frame takes only one click or two. In Seesmic it requires opening a dropdown and then another click or two.To be fair, it was easier to find how to add new accounts on Seesmic than on TweetDeck. But once an additional account was added in TweetDeck it is easier to know what are you doing for which account. For every new time-line added you’ll see an option to select the associated account. I liked that.

Window management:TweetDeck minimize more horizontally – I think that it is more important than vertically.

Translate – From an initial examination it looks like it really works and I could understand some of the tweets that I see in foreign language (Hebrew was on reverse – is this my computer?). I did not test it enough though.

Text Shrinking – Both serviced offer this option. This feature takes a tweet and replace some of the words with abbreviated version or numbers. I tested only couple of tweets comparing the two and I found the results to be very similar.

Reply to all – this is a cool feature that can save you some time communicating with your clique. In a single click TweetDeck copies all the referenced twitter user names from the selected tweet to the message edit box. Seesmic has this feature too. I mentioned it here because it was added to both since my previous review.

Configuration:

Show preview information for short urls. This is useful in a couple of ways. It is nice to see where a link is taking us before actually going there. It is also a good way to validate that the link that I just posted is actually working.

Show # of followers in tweets – if you care about size!

Features that are in Seesmic and not in TweetDeck

Navigation – here I think that Seesmic did a great innovative job. The left page serves as a hypertext-ed index, linking to each one of the columns. Since there could be so many columns added, each for any time-line, it is great having the left pane for easy and quick navigation to the desired column. It is easier/quicker to click than to scroll to the right place. On the other hand Seesmic did not make it intuitive to find the General configuration page – it requires clicking the plus sign next to the Accounts label. Some of these setting are not Account specific (at least not at the time I was writing this blog post).

Multiple accounts – I miss the single window per account. It is not always clear for which account the main five timelines will be added when I clicked on them (Home, Replies, Private, Sent, Favorites).

FriendFeed client – gone, I don’t miss this one

Services – Seesmic supports a list of services yet beside bit.ly I don’t use any of the other so I can’t tell much about this feature. It was easier to set the bit.ly account on TweetDeck, they did a good work pointing me to where my bit.ly API key was.

Spellchecker (English only) – as you can learn from reading this blog post, I was not born in an English speaking language country, so for me this is a life saver.

Friends/followers view – I need this view back! I used it to learn about my new followers. It use to be available in twhirl. Dear Seesmic, what happen to this view? In this view I could see the list of all my friends and followers, together with their profile details.

Color coded notifications – gone, I missed those too.

Window management– Seesmic allow multiple window mode: single column mode (good when you work from the office), One fix view and many detached column, or all column detached. Also Seesmic minimize more vertically. I prefer it to be thinner. I expected that after shrinking the right pane I would be able to minimize it more horizontally but it didn’t. One more thing, could it be possible to add another window mode? How about single window for account:) ? Hint: just launch twhirl.

Archive button vs. Sent time-line view – I don’t know if there is a difference. Anyway it is convenient to have this right at the home view.

Lists – It seems like an incomplete feature. There is no way to add more than one person to the list. Was this the intent? I did like the way it was organize though, as a tree.

Performance – both applications perform well retrieving information and being responsive to user action. TweetDeck crashed once on my laptop.

Each of this application is packed with features and I’m sure that I missed some from this review. I hope that I did cover the notable differentiators.

What’s next?

What else could be added to these desktop clients? They are already more than twitter client. If the objective is to bring the real-time web down to the desktop I can see few additional real-time web services out there.

BackType Alerts – BackType crawl looking for comments on lots of blog posts. It is possible to create an alert searching for a word or phrase in blog comments. This is another listening tool that can lead us to where the action is.

LazyFeed – Real-time stream of new content feed from web-sites, blogs and twitter, filtered by tag (subject). I love this new service and i use it a lot. This is taken from LazyFeed web-site:

Never miss out.
Save all kinds of topics and don’t worry about missing out on anything. The most recently updated topics will rise to the top, keeping you always updated.

Conclusion: both applications are doing great job helping us to constantly be connected and to find out: what is going on now, what’s hot, and what’s next. It is getting harder and harder to find a key differentiating feature that can help us to deice which way to go. It is a matter of preferences and also a matter of what is that you are doing on the web. I personally plan to give Seesmic a chance. I think that the Seesmic team is doing a great job organizing the different time-lines and hopefully soon I will see back some the features that I liked so much on Twhirl.

What are your thoughts? Do you see a killer feature that can help Seesmic to acquire more market share? Are there any other real-time services that you want to see streamed to your desktop?

I’m in the process of streamlining my social networking to be most effective.

Also, I just like playing with new gadgets and software. The Boy is rubbing off on me in that regard.

I’m a bit tired of having eleventy billion tabs opened up in my Firefox browser all day: Facebook, two Twitter accounts, a Flickr account, Gmail, Gmail Reader, Gmail Calendar … my little eyeballs start bouncing back and forth like they’re in a game of Dodgeball by the end of the day!

So I started with TweetDeck and Twhirl. Granted, I’ve been using them for about a nano second each … so stay tuned for the pros and cons of each. There also are other formats that allow you to use multiple Twitter accounts and add in other social networking accounts, such as Facebook, so you’re interfacing with all of them at once. I like that. I’m all about streamlined efficiency.

I found One Forty, a cornucopia of Twitter applications. After I give TweetDeck and Twhirl a … whirl … I’ll definitely prowl One Forty for the next heavy weight contenders.

Stick around for score updates. Also, please feel free to share applications you’ve found useful in Operation Use Fewer Open Windows.

This article is an exploration of how multiple social media platforms can be bridged to optimize the time you spend on the web.

It looks at Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Ping.fm, Hootsuite, TweetDeck and Twhirl. It is designed to help you see how these tools can serve a Social Media Marketing Campaign.

Blogging is creating syndicated articles through a Blog Platform like WordPress.

Micro-Blogging is creating snippets, up to 120 characters in length, and syndicating them among a set of people following you, as in Twitter.

There are applications being built as we speak to integrate twitter with your blogs, with your facebook account, with your LinkedIn account, and with the rest of the quickly changing online landscape.

HootSuite is one of them. Watch this video for an introduction.

As you can see, HootSuite is FULL of functionality. It blows the mind and is hard to fathom at first. Lets take a deeper look.

A small quiz

what is a Sig?

Why do you need to know?

“Our business is about technology, yes. But it’s also about customer relationships,” says Michael Dell. The same is true with Twitter. Twitter is a technological breakthrough which hinges upon the creation of relationships. It works for Dell: they made $2 million off sales from Twitter. So how does a brand on Twitter establish relationships? One answer: sig your tweets.

“Sig” is a term borrowed from email culture, which is short for “signature.” Just as in email, sigs identify the human at the end of a message. A sig takes only three of a tweet’s 140 characters. Here’s an example:

Sigs are especially useful if multiple people tweet for a particular brand profile. They create organizational accountability and help manage workflow. A sig allows one to know who sent a tweet and when it was sent. Inclusion of sigs also values transparency, a high-value attribute on the Internet. Conversation becomes more natural when customers know who they’re talking to. reference page

Notice what one user said about sigs on the same site:

“I love the sigs – We have been using it for our company account for awhile…We like it because it identifies who is posting the tweets since we have several editors.”

So, the sigs will apparently allow a business to use a Twitter account as shared editors to have conversations that can help to manage projects and add transparency. When I set up my sig, I did find it limited to 2 characters, something may be outdated in Twitter’s video.

FriendFeed seems to offer the possibility of interfacing the content sharing functionality of various social media platforms, which could optimize the time of the social media user.

here is a video on what they can do: Welcome to FriendFeed

Twhirl is another.

Their homepage describes it as this:

“twhirl is a desktop client for social software such as Twitter, Friendfeed, identi.ca, or seesmic”

And Twhirl does provide the ability to update key sites as described on thier site: “cross-post your updates to Jaiku and many other sites like Facebook, MySpace, LinkedIn and more via Ping.fm”

I was dissampointed with Twhirl because it did not seem to add anything special that the other applications were not offering. I moved on. It did, however, lead me to seek more info on Ping.fm.

So what is Ping.fm?

Ping.fm is a central interface for all of your cross platform posts. After learning how it functions, I set it up to cross post my status updates from twitter, linked in and facebook. I set it up to be my blog posting platform and to send my blogs to my wordpress account and my facebook notes.

Interesting.

And TweetDeck remains a solid desktop interface for sending messages accross multiple twitter accounts, although it might just be replaced by Hootsuite, which seems to offer far more functionality and may be able to do all of the things that TweetDeck does.

So, next in my research will be to get a better grasp on what hootsuite and ping.fm are capable of. More to come.

Here are my top 5 reasons I use Twhirl and not other Twitter clients for Twitter.
1. It leaves a small footprint. Unlike those screen monsters like TweetDeck, Twhirl I can make small and throw it inro the bottom of my screen.

2. It has the “Update” text box built into it. I love this feature, with many other clients you need press a button and open a window to update your Twitter. Not with Twhirl, you just type your update into the text box and press Enter and you updated your Twitter.

3. You can customize it more than others. You can change the color of it so it blends into the background. You can also change the font that you want to.

4. It gives you a message when a person you follow updates. By this I mean if you have it minimized and someone you’re following it shows it in the bottom right hand corner.

5. Having multiple Twitter accounts in one. I have 2 Twitter accounts, the AverageTech one, and a personal one. I can have 2 small windows set up and use both Twitter accounts.

O perfil do usuário brasileiro do Twitter

Homens – 61%

21 a 30 anos – 65,51%

Solteiros – 82,8%

I don’t feel like logging on to Twitter.com anymore just to update and I’m getting sick

I don’t feel like logging on to Twitter.com anymore just to update and I’m getting sick of the usual thing that I see there with all the clickings and updates from friends. So today I learned about TweetDeck and decided to download it. TweetDeck is a “simple and fast way to experience Twitter.” It is a browser made especially for Twitter users to make their Twitter experience more convenient and less hassle. And don’t count how many times I used the word Twitter in one paragraph, I can’t think of more words to refer to that blue bird.

TweetDeck can show you everything you need to see at once, i.e, your friend’s tweet, tweets that mentioned you, direct messages, recommended users to follow and a lot more. With this application, you can manage all your Twitter accounts in one time, so say goodbye to your multiple personality disorder! TD gives you the Twitter website services without clicking too much links. You can even update your Facebook status via TD. I am get bored with advertising this so see more of its features here.

One thing that needs improvement in this desktop twitter apps though is its themes. No, it has no themes. Users can not change the font size or use background images. It seems like you’re forever stuck in a solid-colored rectangular thing. I like customizing my accounts so I guess TD and I could share a lasting and bountiful relationship if they’ll give the users the capacity to modify the looks of their applications without limitations.

On the other side of the world, this post made it official. I am now one of those narcissist maniacs who were disillusioned that they got some stalker and would like to give them a very easy path to follow. But hey, I don’t update my Twitter as much as those celebrities I am following. Haha! Seriously, I created a Twitter account so I can put more stuff on my blog. WordPress don’t entertain all side widgets that I wish i could put here so I might as well maximize what they can offer.

If you already have Adobe AIR in your platform, you may download TweetDeck here. You may also access your Twitter account by means of Tweetie for Mac, Seesmic, Twhirl or Tweetr

After you’ve setup your Shout’Em network, customized it and gotten it on the right track, you’re on your way to becoming a power user. To make the journey easier, we’ve compiled a list of tips and tricks:

Shouting out!

How to get your message out…

Twhirl on your desktop

Shout from Your Desktop

The web is all fine and dandy, but why not use a desktop client on your Windows, Linux or Mac machine? Setting up Twhirl is easy and it works intuitively with any Shout’Em network. Having a desktop client that supports Shout’Em such as Twhirl set up, lets you dedicate your browser to other sites or shout while you’re not even surfing. For admins and moderators, keeping an eye on your community can explore your userbase!

Ping.fm & HelloTXT for all your social media

If you update multiple social network, you might find it easier to do so with Ping.fm or HelloTXT. Both these services save you valuable time by propagating your message to multiple networks or blogs, including Shout’Em.

Shout’Em mobile

Shout'Em mobile

When on the move, or just not at your computer, you can access any Shout’Em network and be greeted by an interface optimized for mobile phones. A minimalistic interface, core features and small data size give you the ability to shout – really fast!

Shout’Em iPhone app

Shout'Em iPhone app

Oh, we love our iPhones. Since you’re downloading apps from the iTunes App Store all the time, you might we interested in the upcoming official Shout’Em application for the iPhone. Let’s just say it’s slick and sexy and we can’t wait to show you the first 1.0 release. For now, however, it’s in beta. Hint: comment or e-mail us if you want to apply for beta testing.

Show your location

Like stalkers? Well then, why not share the location you’re shouting from? Seriously, there are lots of situations you’d want people to know where you are. Going to a concert, meeting up with friends? Don’t forget that you can attach your location to any shout on your Shout’Em network.

Integrate videos and photos

Videos, photos, multimedia?! Copy the link and paste it to your shout. Better yet, upload the photo you want to share and have it online instantly! Doing this is actually quite simple. When shouting, just click on Link, Photo or Location.

Your Blog / Website

Have a blog, website,…? You can add your network in seconds:

Your user feed

Want to embed your shouts to your blog? Click on the Widgets link in the bottom of your Shout’Em network of choice and find the User feed code under “Widgets”. Paste the code on your site and there you go – you’re in two places at once… or at least your shouts are!

Everyone’s network feed

There’s more to life than just ourselves, right? Same goes for social media and microblogging. That’s why we’ve made it easier to get your whole network feed on your website in just a few clicks. Once again, click on Widgets in the bottom of your network and find Network feed under “Widgets”. Embed it. Done.

Share button

If you want to share articles from your website on a Shout’Em network, just get the “Share button”, located under “Widgets” and copy it onto your site. Promote, shout, get people reading.

API for advanced use

Developers, Develo… Sorry, someone already did that. Our devoted developers, we’ve prepared a Twitter-compatible application programming interface for you. Use it to integrate Shout’Em network into your applications, websites and any great idea you get in the middle of the night. Code and shout! Check out or API!

Social networking

You love the web and you love social network. Understandably. That’s why you love microblogging and use Shout’Em, eh? Well, we don’t want to keep you or your users all to ourselves:

Sync to Facebook

The biggest social network in the world (sorry, Myspace) may require your attention. If you use Facebook, make the most of it and sync your shouts to your Facebook statuses.

Get to Ning

No matter if you’re using Ning for your social network or migrating to Shout’Em, you can get your shouts or your network shouts on Ning. Just click on Widgets in the footer of your network and then find the widgets you need under “Ning”.

You’re on your way to becoming a Shout’Em power user and having your network featured on the homepage of Shout’Em. What are you using to power up your microblogging?

Twitter
