Maria Orsitsch (Maria Orsic) was born in Vienna. Her father was a Croatian and her mother was a German from Vienna.

Although various alleged photos and documents exist that verify Maria Orsitsch’s existence, it was only until the 1960s that historians and writers began to note her involvement with Nazi Mysticism. Maria Orsitsch was first mentioned and pictured in 1967 by Bergier and Pauwels in their book “Aufbruch ins dritte Jahrtausend: von der Zukunft der phantastischen Vernunft“.

Maria Orsitsch was the head of the ‘The All German Society for Metaphysics’ (Alldeutsche Gesellschaft für Metaphysik) founded in the early 20th century as a female circle of mediums who were involved in extraterrestrial telepathic contact. The society was later renamed the ‘VrilSociety’ or ‘Society of Vrilerinnen Women’. In 1917 Maria Orsitsch is said to have made contact with extraterrestrials from Aldebaran with her female Vril circle. Later in 1919 the Vril circle met with other Volkisch groups in a small forester’s lodge in the vicinity of Berchtesgaden to discuss a possible voyage to Aldebaran to meet the Aliens by the construction of Nazi UFOs. Notes on this space mission are discussed in a recent detailed analysis of Nazi Occultism entitled Black Sun: Aryan Cults, Esoteric Nazism, and the Politics of Identity.

Why delete that? Is it because Wikipedia wants to limit coverage of the New Age and Occult influences on Nazism? They don’t want you to know about the links between Freemasons, Rosicrucians, Theosophists, the Rockefellers and Nazism? True, they have anodyne entries on the Vril Society and key Aryan occult figures, but these are movements and people it would be hard to ignore. Wikipedia’s entries on Naziism, National Socialism, Socialism and Moses Hess, Wikipedia makes no mention of the fact that the father of Nazism was Moses Hess, “Marx’s Rabbi”, who converted Engels to the Communist faith. Hess is the father of Nazism, Zionism (i.e. Jewish National Socialism, via Masonry) and Communism (i.e. Socialism for the Goyim, via Masonry). There are a few differences between Hess’s Nazism and Hitler’s Nazism, but they both share a desire to destroy the Christian church (Hess: “Judaism, like Christianity, would have to disappear as a result of the general state of enlightenment and progress, if it were not more than a mere dogmatic religion, namely, a national cult.”), and a belief that Jews must live apart from other nations.

Er det flere av oss der ute i natten? Er det flere som plutselig får en sterk trang til å tusle ut på kjøkkenet og sette over noen desiliter med vann i vannkokeren? Er det flere som har utvikla en spesiell teknikk for å gå i trapper så det skal komme minimalt med knirkelyder? Er det fler som finner fram penn og papir og manisk skriver lister over bøker man vil lese eller plutselig får lyst til å ta på seg et varmt skjerf og snike seg ut i nattemørket bare for å føle at man er den eneste våkne personen på den nordlige halvkule?

Ambisjonene jeg hadde om å være en representant for den friske student som kommer seg opp om morgenen og er ferdig i svømmehallen for å dra på lesesalen klokka ni begynner å blekne litt. Med vidåpne øyne og tanker som reiser avgårde er senga bare gjemt mellom tette grantrær i skogen av nattlige idéer som floker seg inn i fornuften min. Den fornuften som a-menneskene trer nedover hodene våre, den fornuften som knekker fjærene våre og som gjør at vi sitter med en varm termokopp med kaffe på 0815-forelesning og gjesper.

Øynene, mørke og glitrende, nattelydene bruser svakt fra det halvåpne vinduet. Bare én tekopp til.

Ugletid

Der er ugler overalt. Jeg opdagede det første gang sidste år da Baum und Pferdgarten havde ugler overalt på deres kollektion. Nu har min datter også en ugle på en ellers lidt kedelig hvid T-shirt. Uglen er fra stof 2000. Stoffet er hvid, rillet jersey fra skabet. Der er lilla kontraststikninger ved kanter og hals.

Uglen er stukket fast på maskine med rivevlies bagpå. Vliesen tager jeg af bagefter. Jeg har ladet fødderne sidde frit da jeg synes det giver uglen lidt mere liv.

Jeg har besøgt Freemasons Hall i London et par gange – der er en fin rundvisning, hvor man primært ser museet og den store sal. Men her er nu en mulighed for at se lidt mere af huset, inklusive et par logesale:

Bygningen er opført i art deco-stil fra 1927 til 1933, og den fungerer også som mindeskrin for de godt og vel 3.000 engelske brødre, der faldt i første verdenskrig. Der er omkring 20 logesale. Man kan læse lidt mere på United Grand Lodge of Englands hjemmeside.

Lerken springer tidlig om morgenen ut av sengen, starter aktivt dagen, går tidlig til sengs. Sjelden står de på krigfot med vekkerklokken. Uglen derimot blingser om morgen unådig ut i verden, kommer seg bare med vanskeligheter ut av sengen og trenger en time anløpstid. De klarer nesten ingen ting om formiddagen. Og våkner først om ettermiddagen så riktig opp. Du må avskaffe vekkerklokken. Og du trenger et liv med fleksibel tid.

Slik tikker ditt indre dagsur

Lyst på sex, sulten eller fornemmer smerter, høytid for hjernen eller muskelen – alt har sin tid. Den indre kjøreplanen kjører berg og dalbane over høyder og dybder med oss. De følgende tidsutsagn gjelder for de fleste av oss. Ugler legger til en til to timer, utpregede morgenfugler trekker fra en time.

Klokken 6 til 8: Tiden til lyst

Klokken 8 til 10: Bare ikke noen tannlegetime

Sinnet våkner langsomt opp. Bestemte medikamenter og alkohol virker tre til fem ganger så sterkt som om kvelden. På denne tiden er kroppens forsvarsmekanisme svekket. Og fornemmelsen av smerter er størst. Når du drikker et til to glass sekt klokken 9 om morgenen, virker det like så sterkt som en flaske om kvelden. Når du nå allerede sitter på jobben, så gjør du oppgaver som ikke krever hele din spirituelle kraft.

For viktige forretnings-terminer er det godt å vite: Vårt håndtrykk er kraftigst mellom klokken 9 og 10.

Om morgenen mellom ti og tolv er ikke bare hjernecellene aktive,
men også hormonene for godt humør.

Klokken 10 til 12: Hjernens høytid

Prestasjonsevnen når mellom klokken 10 og 11 det maksimale, holder seg der en tid og begynner fra og med halv 12 langsomt å flate ut. Ingen tid på dagen arbeider korttidshukommelsen så godt. Godt-humør-hormoner er aktive, kreativiteten sprudler. Det stimulerende nervestoffet dopamin og noradrenalin optimerer konsentrasjonsevnen og kreativitet. Knekk kompliserte teoretiske problemer i de tidligere formiddagstimene, meld deg opp til prøver på denne tiden. Den sene formiddagen egner seg godt for trim – i tilfelle din arbeidshverdag tillater det. Viktig for fullt ut å utnytte prestasjonskapasiteten: Etter en og en halv time legg inn en pause og så arbeid nitti minutter igjen.

Klokken 12 til 15: Tid for en høneblund

Prestasjonskurven faller sterkt. Kroppen trenger energi – i form av lett næring og nøkkelsøvn . Klokken 12 melder sulten seg. Klokken 13 går prestasjonsevnen ned i middagsdybden, produksjonen av magesyre løper på høygir. Og klokken 14 står vårt indre ur på neddykking i en liten høneblund på 15 til 30 minutter. Eller gå på treningssenteret: Våre muskler er mest prestasjonsfremmende klokken 13.30. I tilfelle du kun har en kort pause og må arbeide videre: Legg rutineoppgaver som post og telefonater til denne tiden, og gjør disse uten hast. Klokken 13 til 14 er dagens spøkelsestime. Kretsløpet er labilt – ingen bra tid for viktige terminer.

Klokken 15 til 17: Andre høydepunkt på dagen

Prestasjonskurven stiger videre. Nå kommer høytiden for uglen. Pust og puls når toppverdier, hår og negler vokser raskest. Manuell aktivitet som krever ferdigheter og tempo, gjøres nå lettest. Ånden er villig. Fremfor alt langtids-hukommelsen. Nå burde de viktigste aktivitetene bli gjort. Pugge gloser eller holde et foredrag. Du er sensibel – en god tid for kjærlighet. Fra og med klokken 16 er du mer mottagelig for stress. I denne tiden passer det godt med monotone aktiviteter. I tillegg synker smertesensibiliteten med to tredjedeler. Den beste tiden for å besøke legen. Den som lar seg vaksinere på denne tiden, er mindre sensibel for bivirkninger.

Klokken 17 til 19: Høytid for trim

Nå er den beste tiden for sunnhetsteen. Nyrene står på avgiftning. En ny høytid for utholdenhetstrening: Nå må du jogge vekk dagens stresshormoner. Den som nå investerer tid og svette i helsestudio, høster størst muskelvekst. Lever og bukspytt-kjertelen er i god form. Og: ideell tid for kveldsmåltidet.

Klokken 19 til 21: Timer for sansene

Mens tenkeevnen minker, når sanseorganene øyne, ører og nese sitt prestasjonsmaksimum. Smakssansen favoriserer glasset med vin. I tillegg kommer: Alkohol tåles nå fem ganger bedre enn om morgenen og blir raskere nedbygd. Den beste tiden for musikk, teater – eller en stimulerende samtal

E-mail-horror

Jeg får ca.100 e-mail per dag. De fleste løser seg av seg selv – de er riktignok pressende, men ikke virkelig viktig. Jeg lar meg ikke gjøre til slave. Når mail symbolet blinker, reagerer mellomhjernen som hos våre forfedre, når de ble angrepet av et sabeltanndyr. Adrenalinnivået stiger, man leser mailen av nyskjerrighet og ergrer seg over møkka som står i det. Hurry-sickness, den tvingende trangen til å skyndte seg, blir dessuten økt gjennom e-mail. Ingen har forståelse, når jeg ikke senest etter en halv time reagerer. På grunn av dette føler jeg alltid meg skyldig i å svare.

Veien ut av tidsfella: Lag blokker. Om formiddagen, når prestasjonsevnen er på sitt høyeste, bør man avsondre seg og gjøre de viktige tingene. Lese e-mail og svare kan man gjøre om ettermiddagen, når man blir litt trøtt.

Den som sover godt om natten, er i våken tilstand i fin form. Unngå:alkohol og en full mage.

Blodtrykket og pulsen synker, du er rolig og avslappet og kan også løse konflikter godt. Tid for en klarleggende samtale med partneren. Eller invester kveldtimene i din skjønnhet: Huden er nå mest gjennomtrengelig for kosmetikk.

Klokken 21 til 23: Angstens time

Adrenalinnivået synker. Melatoninnivået stiger. God-natt-hormonet, som blir utskilt,, når det blir mørkt, signaliserer til kroppen: reduser aktivitetene. Det forbereder morgenmennesket på søvnen med såkalte gunstige sovedører som garanterer rask innsoving, styrkende søvn. Ugler har sin sovedør først etter klokken 24. Infeksjonsmotstanden er nå spesiell aktiv. Derimot arbeider fordøyelsen på sparebluss: Ikke spis noe mer, ellers ligger det lenge tungt i magen.

Også alkohol kan ømtålig forstyrre ditt indre ur og sørge for dårlig søvn. På denne tiden synker humøret, følelser som aggressivitet og angst kommer forsterket frem. Ensomhet blir vanskeligst i disse timene.

Klokken 23 til 1: Murmeldyrtiden

Tid til den dypeste søvn. Den som nå sover godt, samler dobbelt med krefter. Og sover seg ung. Nå er veksthormonene aktive som regenerer hver kroppscelle. Fett nedbygges, muskler bygges opp. Den som forblir våken: Reaksjonsevnen synker. Risikoen for biluhell stiger. Smertesensibiliteten når sitt maksimum. Klokken 24 gjør urfrykten seg gjeldene – nå er man spesielt oppskremt.

Klokken 1 til 3: Inn i drømmenes land

Etter dybsøvnfasen følger drømmefasen. Den som er våken i denne tiden har ofte store vanskeligheter med å sovne inn igjen, enn til et tidligere eller senere tidspunkt.

Blodtrykk, stoffveksel og kroppstemperatur når sitt minimum. Nattbilister ser rundt klokken 2 dårligst.

Klokken 3 til 6: Ulvens time

Ca. klokken fire slår ulvens time. Vi fornemmer smerter sterkere. Tankene er dystrere. Ikke grubl, heller avled tankene. Kropp og sinn har sitt biologiske lavpunkt. Astmatikere får nå problemer, fordi årene nå er trange. Nattarbeidere er mellom klokken tre og fire mest klossete. De fleste feilene og uhell på arbeidsplasser hender i løpet av denne tiden – men også de fleste dødsfall og fødsler.

Uglesett?

Har den våte ugla blitt uglesett av de andre, tro? Blitt dyttet i bassenget fordi de visste at’n ikke kunne svømme? Tviler på det, fordi på bunnen lå en død mus. Det var nok jegerinnstinket som har drev’n ut på dypt vann. Kanskje musa hadde falt uti, lå og kavet og uglefanten tenkte at her har vi et lett måltid? Teoriene er mange og brokete, men sannheten får verden neppe vite.

Samme hvem, hva og hvordan, men jeg skvatt en smule i den tidlige morgenstund da jeg så noe stirret strengt på meg fra øverste trinn i bassengtrappa. Løftet den ut av vannet og redde seng inni kattas reisekasse. Satte inn vann og to rå kalkunbiter. Etter en drøy time var futten tilbake. Den hadde tippet vannfatet og var omtrent like våt som da jeg tok den ut av bassenget. Hadde driti både her og der. Maten dreit’n også i. Den så på meg med en blanding av frykt og mot, og viste alle tegn til å ville ut. Som du ønsker, sa jeg. Den flakset nedi et blomsterbed og siden har vi ikke hatt kontakt. Håper det går bra med den. De er vakre fugler som gir liv og lyd til både natten og dagen.

En ting jeg lurer på: Den hadde et fjærløst område på brystet. Så ikke ut som sår eller skade. Ikke noe blod. Vet at noen fugler har slikt for bl.a. å overføre mer varme til eggene under ruging. Vet noen om dette kan være tilfelle med denne ugla? Og vet noen hvilken art det er?

Regarding a letter in The Square

The Square (‘the independent magazine for freemasons‘) brings a letter questioning whether UGLE should recognise those Grand Lodges practicing Swedish Rite who according to this letter, ‘discriminate on the grounds of religion’. I have already said my final piece on this accusation (Swedish Rite … or Wrong?), but the letter (or rather its anonymous writer) gets an important fact wrong, so I need to address that:

I have attempted to find out more about this matter at Grand Lodge but all I have been told is that there exists a second Grand Lodge in Denmark – which I believe – practices the Emulation ritual translated into Danish. (I was actually already aware of this as some of their Grand Officers and members attended a lodge – for which I have a connection – at Freemason’s Hall a few years ago, so I saw them). This begs the question as to why we recognise two Grand Lodges in one country – but that is another matter.

First of all, UGLE actually recognises two or more Grand Lodges in several countries, and for good reason, but as the writer says, that is another matter.

More imporantly, it is not the case in Denmark. The situation is that The Danish Order of Freemasons (practising Swedish Rite, with around 8,000 members) is the Grand Lodge of Denmark. Within this organisation is The Ancient Fraternity of Free and Accepted Masons of Denmark (some 1,300 members); they entered a concord with the Order which gave them recognition and semi-autonomy (comparable to a Provincial Grand Lodge); but they accept the authority of the Sovereign Grand Master of the Order, and recognition can not be extended to them as an individual organisation. Many members of the Fraternity join the Order to take the higher degrees (IV-X) of that system.

Also, I have also been told that what they work is Emulation, but it clearly isn’t, nor do they name it so (I believe it’s called ‘Ritual for The Ancient Fraternity of F&AM’ or something like that) – it is a mistake that has crept in somewhere. (Unfortunately their website is being updated, but they used to have quite a bit of information in English, so I shall update this post once it’s back online.)

tilbake fra eksamensland

Jeg listet meg altså sliten og matt ut av eksamenslokalet på fredag samtidig som jeg prøvde hardt å føle meg en smule andektig: jeg var tross alt endelig ferdig med bachelorgraden min. Tre års nesten konstant lesing, mange timers oppgaveskriving, flere tusen sider pensum og et utall nye bekjentskaper i form av forfattere, teoretikere, medstudenter og professorer. Blod, svette og tårer. Hurra og huttetu.

Det føles litt rart å ikke være 100% sikker på hva høsten bringer. Når jeg skal være enkeltemnestudent et semester får jeg bare plass på de emnene som ikke er blitt fulle i løpet av første inntaksrunde, så gudene vet hva jeg ender opp med. Akkurat nå er det litt skummelt.

MEN: jeg har en grad! jeg har en grad! Hvor fantastisk er det ikke å kunne si det? Helt til jeg begynner å få karakterkvaler må blåhvalen se seg forbigått av hysterisk glad ugle:

Et af frimureriets mekkaer er London. Det har sin årsag i, at det var her man i 1717 dannede verdens første storloge (altså sammenslutning af et antal loger) – man kan sige, at det var her, det moderne frimureri fødtes. Og da de fleste storloger fører deres stamtræ tilbage til Englands Forenede Storloge, UGLE, så har England, til trods for at de enkelte landes storloger er uafhængige, alligevel en historisk position. I sidste uge var jeg derovre og vi gjorde adskillige stop, dog er det primært Freemasons Hall, der er interessant for “civile” turister:

Freemasons Hall ligger i Great Queen Street, nær stationen Holborn. Det er her UGLE bor, i en stor, imposant bygning. De har et fint museum og en rundvisning, som kører hele dagen. Det primære stop på rundturen er Grand Temple, salen hvor 1.700 kan sidde og følge et møde. Hvis man er lidt nysgerrig omkring frimureri (eller bare kan lide store, flotte bygninger), så er det værd at kigge forbi.

Personligt synes jeg, Westlife er helt forfærdelige, men jeg blev lige opmærksom på, at videoen til Mandy er optaget i Freemasons Hall, så her er et lille kig indenfor: YouTube.

London: women freemasons

At the museum in Freemasons Hall there is an ongoing exhibition about women’s freemasonry in England to mark the centenary of the first lady freemasons in England. I find the subject very interesting, and we have two women-only lodges in Denmark. Their French origins seem to me more ‘feminine’ than the two English organisations (HFAF and OWF) that have stayed very close to UGLE’s way of doing things; and by that I don’t mean that freemasonry is based on gender, but it seems to me that the Danish women freemasons bring their female character more into their way of doing things. But of course it’s difficult for me to say, from the outside looking in.

Unfortunately, there wasn’t really much to see. Some letters, charters, personal effects and a couple of photos. The stuff that was there was fine, but not very inviting, and I think the background and history could have been presented better. Overall a little bit disappointing.

Telegraph has a handful of pictures from the exhibition (including the one in this post), and Pietre Stones wrote about it.

If the Queen is so afraid of Masonry - as the article from the Daily Mail posted further down insinuates – & its image in the “modern” world (“modernity” as it is perceived being itself largely a philosophical myth in the great scheme of things), then why is there a Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution, Royal Masonic School For Girls & a Royal Masonic Trust For Girls & Boys?

Why does her Private Secretary reply to a letter from her cousin Prince Edward, Duke of Kent, the “Most Worshipful” Grand Master of the United Grand Lodge of England (UGLE) & First Grand Principal of the Supreme Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons of England:

“The Queen has asked that her warm thanks be conveyed to you for your kind message of good wishes on the occasion of her Golden Jubilee. Her Majesty received your greetings and congratulations with much pleasure.”

Is she afraid of what will happen if she doesn’t endorse, extend warm thanks & feign “much pleasure” to the Grand Master of the UGLE & all Freemasons under the UGLE? Not likely I would suggest!

No. Royalty is Masonic through & through, always has been – regardless of what names it has gone by in the past – & always will be.

Her other cousin, Prince Michael of Kent: The Duke of Kent’s brother, Prince Michael is the Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Mark Master Masons. She must be very afraid, with all of these high-level Masons in the family.

Oh no. The Queen’s husband & consort, Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh is also a Mason: Navy Lodge No. 2612 UGLE London. Someone had better tell her & make sure to bring the smelling salts.

Even the Pope likes Masonry. This is a good job as what with actually being one himself, having his photograph taken giving a Masonic handshake to fellow (deferential) Mason & former U.K. Prime Minister Tony Blair.

As the head of the Roman Catholic royal house of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha (name changed to Windsor in the UK in 1917)- the Pope is her Lord & Master, with her Order of St John (QEII being the Sovereign Head of the OSJ) & Order of the Garter (QEII being Sovereign of the Garter) both covertly beneath the Papal-loyal Order of Malta (SMOM).

The Masonic/Royal/Vatican links are very close & only the truly profane & ignorant believe Rome’s open but false policy of anti-Masonry. The secret but true policy is a Papal/Masonic love-in, with the Jesuit Superior-General as the Master of Ceremonies.

A Royal Mason: The Duke of Kent is the organisation’s Grand Master

A branch of the Freemasons secret society is being formed by members of the Royal Household and police who protect the Royal Family.

And their decision to call it The Royal Household Lodge has put them on a collision course with Buckingham Palace, as has their plan to co-opt the royal cipher “EIIR” for their regalia, to underline their connection to the Queen.

Although the Queen’s cousin, the Duke of Kent, is head of the secretive organisation, he is Grand Master of the United Grand Lodge of England, the new branch has not gone down well with the Royal Family.

The Palace has no power to halt the formation of the lodge, but it is determined to stop it adopting its chosen name and block it from hijacking the Queen’s EIIR.

Use of the Royal Household title and any related symbols requires official permission.

Angry officials clearly feel the new lodge’s proposed name is the last thing the Palace needs at a time when it is trying to be seen as more modern and open.

Last night, a spokesman for the Queen said: “Buckingham Palace has not, and would not, endorse this sort of arrangement. No permission has been given by the Palace for a Buckingham Palace lodge or anything similar.

“If permission is sought, it will be declined.”

The founding of the lodge has also alarmed some Royal staff who do not wish to be associated with the fraternity famed for bizarre initiation rites, mystical regalia and mysterious codes of conduct.

It is also likely to cause consternation among career women in the Palace, as it is a men-only organisation.

Non-members in Royal service are said to be fearful they will be overlooked for prestigious promotions and left unsupported in any below-stairs clashes.

Masons are widely believed to further the business and professional interests of brother Masons, although they would deny this and claim it is a harmless social and charitable organisation.

The lodge, which will not meet at the Palace but will be based in a Masonic Hall elsewhere, will be open to all members of the Royal Household, from armed police protection officers to below-stairs staff such as pages and footmen.

It will also recruit staff in other Royal residences including Windsor Castle, Clarence House and St James’s Palace.

A Palace insider said: “There’s a lot of consternation and rightly so. People fear a lot of business will now be conducted behind closed doors so that those who don’t sign up to Freemasonry can’t have any effect on it.

“They are concerned that Masons will be preferred and those who aren’t Masons will be written out of the script.

“Backstairs life is already complicated enough, there are all sorts of allegiances and cliques and cabals. People fall in and out of favour and there’s a lot of whispering in ears.

“The last thing the household needs is a secret society, especially one with the reputation of Freemasonry.”

The United Grand Lodge of England issued the Royal Household Lodge with a warrant in June last year although it will not formally exist until the consecration ceremony on May 19 at the Freemasons’ Hall in London.

That will be followed by a celebration dinner for up to 300 Masons and their guests at the historic Lincoln’s Inn.

The insider said the idea had been generated by serving and past members of the Royalty Protection Squad, SO14. With new recruits, the total number involved is approximately 70.

Author and broadcaster Martin Short, whose book Inside The Brotherhood exposed Masonic practices in the UK, said: “It’s a catastrophic time to start such a lodge, given all the problems facing the Royal Family at present.

“The Royal Family is desperately trying to prove it is modernising, in PR terms, this is bad news for them.”

The Chancery of the British and Irish Delegation extends its congratulations to Princess Michael of Kent following her appointment as a Dame Grand Cross of Honour and Devotion of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta within the Order’s British Association.

Tid for fuglekasser (oppdatert)

Nå er det stor aktivitet i trær og på bakken, Fugler flyr i alle retninger og prøver å sikre seg de beste plassene for å legge egg. Vi mennesker har skjønt at denne kampen ikke alltid er like lett og derfor bygger vi fuglekasser. Samtidig gjør jo fuglekasser at vi får bedre “kontroll” over fuglenes hektiske månder med hekking. Det er ganske fascinerende å følge et fuglepar fra de begynner å ordne til kassen og frem til noen små ustødige fugleunger hopper ut av kassen (med varierende utfall).

Dersom man har barn og eller jobber med barn i barnehage eller skole, er dette en fin aktivitet med barna for å få de interessert i naturen. Ekstra gøy blir det dersom man installerer et trådløst kamera, for å følge med i utviklingen- og da blir ikke fuglefamilien forstyrret heller!

Jeg har laget en mange fuglekasser- hovedsakelig kjøttmeiskasser og stærekasser. Men jeg har også laget en blåmeiskasse. Det morsomme er at blåmeisen kan bygge i kjøttmeiskasse, men ikke omvendt.

På bildet over er en kjøttmeismor eller far på vei til å hente mat til de nyklekkede ungene. Denne kassen er faktisk den som har vært flest fuglepar innom. Faktisk 2 par på en sesong!

Å lage fuglekasser er på den ene siden enkelt, men dersom man skal tiltrekke seg mer kresne fugler, så må en vite hva mang gjør med tanke på utforming og plassering- og ikke minst diameteren på inngangen. Blåmeis skal ha 28mm, kjøttmeis 32mm, stær 50mm og ugle 120mm for å nevne noen.

Nissemann har til og med laget flaggermuskasse!

Oppdatert: I dag (etter at jeg publiserte dette innlegget) laget jeg og eldstemann denne Kjøttmeiskassen. Vi har hengt den opp i ett tre som vi ser fra kjøkkenvinduet, slik at vi kan følge med når vi spiser. Så fremover vil kikkert være en natulig del av pådekningen . Ett-tallet har guttungen laget, som symbol på at det er den første kassen vi har her og den første han har vært med på å lage (klikk på bildet for å få det større).

The Night the Crowd Walked Out

The crowd was screaming wildly and my heart raced. The big moment had arrived at the Queen Elizabeth Stadium (QE Stadium) in Hong Kong. One year of preparation on the album and months of hard-core dance practice were finally going to pay off. The five of us who made up our dance team, ABAD, stood together backstage in our sparkly attire, holding hands as we prayed; then quickly resumed the habit of counting out steps in our heads.

We had had a week of performances at different venues around the city, including the Chinese version of MTV, all leading up to the last three big performances at QE Stadium. Practice had become so intensive at one point that some of us were even having dreams about counting dance steps: “One and two and spin up, over-and….”. Our hopes of being a touring dance team were about to take flight; and it was also my birthday. Several other bands played before we went on. The time was around 10:30 pm on Saturday when we finally took the stage.

The music started and the smoke machines and pyrotechnics were perfectly in-sync with the processed pop-tunes. My friend wrote many of the songs, I wrote a few, and he produced the music for all of it. We had a pop- girl, dance-band vibe; it looked and sounded like we were copying other groups. Most of the songs that were put together had heavy beats and blurred messages such as:

“Let’s go down where the people are jumping, baby;
Down where the people are crazy, baby;
Down where the heat and beat are all I know, oh, oh;
Come on people, let’s go.”

Suddenly, the unexpected happened. Being the front singer in the group, I noticed through the bright lights that the crowd began to dwindle as the evening progressed. I ignored what I saw in the audience and gave my best effort despite the sinking feeling that tried to creep up in me. Except for my sister, the other girls needed their glasses to see at a distance and since they had taken them off for the performance, they couldn’t see what was happening as the evening transpired. By the time the last song ended, there were about 27 people left from a crowd of 2,500! I had never seen such a disheartening sight in my whole life. The blood seemed to drain from my body. What went wrong?

We still had two concerts at QE Stadium, with a known worship leader, scheduled for Sunday when even larger crowds were expected. Now I was really nervous. Would the same thing happen again? I went to my parent’s hotel room that night and cried my eyes out. I didn’t know what was going on or how I should respond to such a shocking incident. My dad told me that the audience couldn’t tell whether we were Christians or not because our message was fuzzy, so they walked out. But as for the concert on Sunday: just perform only the songs that were clearly about the Lord.

When Sunday morning came, I didn’t know what to expect; but to my surprise, the crowd loved each song that we did. A thunderous applause erupted after each number, and yes, everyone stayed ‘till the end. There was such a drastic change from the night before. At the end of each concert on Sunday, ABAD signed posters and CD’s for crowds of people. However, our journey ended on a sad note; when we came home, one member of the team quit because of family issues.

But something still felt wrong inside. I needed some answers to my questions. What went wrong that Saturday night at QE Stadium? Should I continue working on the album after the audience rejected it? I asked the Lord for answers. Around one month later, I was in Los Angeles when God gave me the answer. He told me that the songs that I was singing were not true to whom I really am. I have never been to dance clubs, nor could I identify with several of the songs that the other songwriter and I had written. Instead of being true to the music that God gave me, I compromised. The message was not clear. The Lord gave me a compass for all of the projects that I work on: it has to “Heal the world.”

If I ever work on something that is questionable, I can ask myself, “Does this ‘heal the world’?” If not, then I can realign myself with what I am called to do. God taught me a very valuable and expensive lesson in Hong Kong, which I will never forget. The audience walked out that night because I didn’t portray the real passion and hope that God put within me. I wasn’t being real. Then God told me to scratch the whole album and start over. This was difficult because there were people who had dedicated large amounts of their time to complete this project. I gritted my teeth and decided to do it God’s way.

I thought that the start of a new album would come quickly and that the dance team would be up and running again in no time. But instead, the album came to a screeching halt. I tried but couldn’t get anything started.

Months later, it was evident that inspiration for the album had fizzled and that the group was “dead.” Hindering forces seemed to even block us from dance practice. I told the remaining girls, “Right now, our group is dead, just like a seed that’s been planted in the ground. But one day, it’s going to rise again.” Each Christmas, for about five years, we (ABAD) would have tea together, reminding each other of the coming day when our group would resurrect; until last year, when God showed me that ABAD wasn’t meant to continue.

Around two years ago, I began leading a small worship team at church, filling in for our main worship leaders when they were gone. It was rough. Pinning down musicians to make a commitment was the hardest part. I tried to find flexible people who were passionate about worship, and over time, God brought together 6 stable members, including myself: four singers, one drummer, and one guitarist. Then God lead one of the singers to play bass and another vocalist to play keyboards.

The group began to pick up momentum, and we did a song that was well received in Taiwan and Hong Kong called, “Shout.” Prophets began to prophesy about this worship team, it was evident that God’s hand was in it.

This week, God showed me that ABAD was the seed that fell into the ground and died. When a tree grows, it looks nothing like the seed. The seed is ugly in comparison to the beauty of the tree. It’s the same way with our group; the new group looks and sounds nothing like the old group. The new is much more fresh and there is no comparison with the old. There were originally 6 members in the old group, and there are 6 members in the new group. I see how ABAD was a part of the process to get where we are today. Everything has changed dramatically and I love it!

I will never forget the vital lesson I learned in Hong Kong. When you write music, stay true to the person God has made you to be. You don’t have to try to sound like someone else ~ be like someone else. People want to hear songs that are honest, songs that touch the hearts and minds of people everywhere. God wants to give you the music that the masses can identify with and say, “That song captures the way I feel.”
