Yes thats right we went over to the UK and played with the legendary Second Time Lucky. We just want to thank you guys for hosting us and showing us an amazing time. Special thanks goes out to Emma’s folks for having us out to their beautiful home and cooking for us before our show in Horsham. Below is a link to that show. The Specials -- Terry Hall

Today’s edition of The Sunday Times of London has published a fascinating piece on the reunion of the legendary UK ska band The Specials (pictured above top in a photo by Anthony Devlin). The article, which is titled “The Specials back on stage after 30 years” and was written by Tim Cooper, discusses the motivations of the individuals in the band for the reunion and how some of them were somewhat hesitant to join the reunion. Of course, one original member of the band, Jerry Dammers, declined to participate. Lead vocalist Terry Hall (pictured above, bottom) said of Dammers:

“I think it’s really sad that he’s not with us. And the longer it goes on without him, the harder it is for me to find the reason why. It’s pretty basic — do you wanna play or not? And he doesn’t seem to want to. But he can walk back in any time he wants.”

Hall is also very frank in the article about being diagnosed with bipolar disorder. The article also lists the tracks of the free CD by The Specials that was given away with the print edition of today’s Sunday Times of London. To read the article in full, click here.

The Specials played at Scotland’s T in the Park Festival this weekend. They begin a UK tour on November 1st.
