Måndag 7 december tillkommer tre nya årskort på SJ: Årskort Silver Resplustillägg, Årskort Silver Plus Resplustillägg, Årskort Guld Resplus tillägg.

Med dessa kort som kostar ca 10 000 SEK mer än vanliga kort resa med länstrafiken utan biljett. Detta innebär att man kan gå på bussen i Stockholm för att åka två hållplatser. Eller spårvagnen i Göteborg för att åka mellan Centralstationen och Liseberg. Eller Skånetrafikens tåg. Eller nåt annat exempel, finns rätt många.

Dock gäller kortet INTE på Arlanda Express, expressbussar, flygbussarna.

Jag ska helt klart uppgradera mitt silverkort. Det är faktiskt värt pengarna. Egentligen får jag SL-kort av skolan men med årskortet kan man ju åka överallt. Då behöver jag inte tänka på att gå in på Pressbyrån innan jag kliver på bussen till Parken zoo i Eskilstuna. Eller krångla med biljetter och vad som gäller eller inte gäller när jag åker med UL:s bussar. En riktig höjdare alltså!

Snart på väg till Arlanda och Uppsala.

Kollektivtrafiken till och från Arlanda flygplats ska bli bättre. Flygplatsen ska få en ny pendeltågslinje som går från Älvsjö i södra Stockholm till Uppsala. Dessutom ska biltullar införas på flygplatsen.

Enligt planerna ska både den nya tågtrafiken och biltullarna få premiär 2012. Nyheterna ingår i flygplatsens arbete för att få ner utsläppen.

Det är en utmärkt satsning som nu Upplands Lokaltrafik (UL), Storstockholms Lokaltrafik (SL) och LFV har enats om. De nya pendeltågen ökar tillgängligheten till Arlanda radikalt eftersom de kommer att stanna vid samtliga stationer på sträckan Älvsjö – Arlanda – Uppsala.

Visst – det blir inte den snabbaste förbindelsen mellan Stockholm City och Arlanda, men den nya tågtrafiken gör det betydligt smidigare för pendlare till/från Arlanda från en rad norrförorter. Men också från södra Storstockholm, där resenärer från stora områden kan nå Arlanda med maximalt ett byte.

Det är viktigt, inte minst för arbetspendlingen. Man ska ju ha klart för sig att flygresenärerna ingalunda dominerar resandet till Arlanda. Det gör arbetspendlingen. Arlanda är ju en av regionens allra största arbetsplatser.

Den nya pendeltågstrafiken är en senkommen följd av att Arlanda Express i grunden är feltänkt. Konceptet bygger på att resenärerna ska åka snabbt mellan Arlanda och City. Men för den som inte ska till eller från city är Arlanda Express inte något särskilt snabbt alternativ. Däremot dyrt.

Flygtåget i Oslo är betydligt smartare tänkt. Snabbtåget från flygplatsen stannar vid en knutpunkt innan Oslos centralstation. Men sedan går tåget vidare med ytterligare stopp i centrum och på andra sidan centrum. Därmed erbjuder man stora områden ett snabbt alternativ för att komma till Gardermoen.

Men Arlanda Express har byggts som en separat tarm som inte på något sätt är integrerad i Storstockholms övriga kollektivtrafik.

Det går inte ens att stanna tågen annat än vid de plattformar där man kör idag. Vagnarna är nämligen lägre än vad som är standard i det svenska järnvägssystemet. Skulle man stanna på andra stationer än idag med Arlanda Express skulle dörrarna helt enkelt inte gå att öppna. Man kan inte heller sänka plattformarna på andra stationer. Då blir de för låga för alla andra tåg.

Själv är jag en frekvent flygresenär (och har halvdåligt samvete för det). Jag bor vid Odenplan i Stockholm. För mig är det ingen tidsvinst med Arlanda Express – snarare tvärtom. Då är det enklare och billigare att ta flygbussen. Och minst lika snabbt, i synnerhet som bussen går oftare än tåget. Men i framtiden får det bli tåget.

Flygbussarna har idag ett viktigt upptagningsområde från S:t Eriksplan och norrut. Den nya pendeltågstrafiken kommer att sopa undan en hel del av det underlaget. Varför ta bussen från S:t Eriksplan när man kan ta pendeln från Karlberg och dessutom resa mycket billigare med sitt SL-kort?

Varför stå vid ett enkelt regnskydd och vänta på bussen i en ogästvänlig miljö längs  motorvägen vid Frösunda eller Ulriksdal när man kan ta tåget från Solna station eller Ulriksdal?

För Veoliaägda Flygbussarna kan den nya pendeltågstrafiken inte bli annat än en ny, rejäl smäll.

Det kan inte vara kul för Veolias svenska ledning att behöva rapportera ännu en motgång till höjdarna i Paris. I synnerhet som lönsamheten i Skavstatrafiken genom konkurrensen från Flybycoach har pressats i botten. Och nu väntar en råsop från andra sidan…

Så kan det gå när ett storföretag för stora pengar köper upp ett entreprenörslett dito, för att sedan tvingas se allt rasa samman.

Tel un otage libéré des mains de ses ravisseurs, c’est un parti “Kataëb” épanoui, et plus fort que jamais, qui dame le pion à ses (ex-) alliés de la coalition du “14 mars”, et plus particulièrement à ses camarades du camp chrétien qui se retrouvent très seuls sur l’îlot de la révolution aux couleurs du drapeau libanais…

Car le coup des “Kataëb” n’est pas le premier que doivent encaisser les partis de la majorité. Ce n’est en effet pas moins que le 4ème, et peut-être même pas le dernier, à la vitesse où les choses évoluent depuis le K.O. que leur a asséné Walid Joumblatt dans son célébrissime discours prononcé à l’hôtel Beau Rivage, ex-QG de Rustom Ghazalé. Le Premier ministre Saad Hariri, chef suprême de cette majorité révolutionnaire post-14 février 2005 n’a pas manqué d’y mettre du sien pour verser de l’huile sur le feu qui consume les naufragés de la majorité. Au cours des négociations qu’il a menées en vue de former son gouvernement, M. Hariri a fait du général Michel Aoun, figure de proue de l’opposition chrétienne, la star des pourparlers, admettant indirectement que les revendications de Aoun sont légitimes, étant donné qu’il est le chef du plus important groupe parlementaire chrétien au sein de l’assemblée, et du 2ème plus grand groupe parlementaire libanais, en nombre de députés.

Quoiqu’il en soit, le coup de maître qui a mis la peur au ventre à plus d’un est incontestablement le rapprochement dangereux qui s’opère entre le Premier ministre Saad Hariri, et le régime de Damas, et ce depuis le lendemain du 7 juin dernier. La visite de Hariri en Syrie n’étant plus très loin, à en croire les différentes sources journalistiques.
“Nous n’aurions jamais pu publier un communiqué où nous nous féliciterions de l’obtention du portefeuille des Affaires sociales alors que nous nous savions lésés, et où nous réaffirmerions notre soutien à l’alliance du 14 mars, alors que notre assise populaire criait sa colère”, note un membre du bureau politique du parti “Kataëb”, justifiant ainsi la décision que son parti s’est résolu à prendre.

“C’est au prix d’efforts considérables que nos alliés essaient de taire l’affaire médiatiquement et de convaincre le parti de se rétracter en mettant en œuvre toutes leurs capacités de persuasion, en plus d’user du prétexte infaillible ‘le parti Kataëb est le noyau du 14 mars’, il ne peut donc pas se retrouver dans l’autre camp”, ajoute le cadre “Kataëb.”
Et de poursuivre, “nous avons posé nos conditions, et nous ne regagnerons pas notre position initiale avant d’obtenir gain de cause, car ce ne sont pas des revendications propres au parti mais des revendications chrétiennes par excellence.”

Quelles sont donc les exigences du parti “Kataëb”? En voilà un aperçu:
- La réhabilitation complète des deuxièmes sections de l’université libanaise, et la fondation d’un campus universitaire à Fanar (Metn), de même qu’a été créé le campus de Hadath qui regroupe les premières sections de l’UL.
- La création de 6 grandes écoles officielles dans les régions chrétiennes, en respect du principe du développement équitable des régions.
- La participation du parti au sein de la commission parlementaire de l’Education, pour que le parti soit à même d’imposer ses remarques concernant le livre d’histoire libanaise moderne.
- Introduire les amendements nécessaires à l’accord de Taëf pour restituer au président de la République les prérogatives dont cet accord l’a privé.
Au final, le parti “Kataëb” semble avoir dit son dernier mot, et attendre l’effet de cette petite révolution.
Pour le parti, il est surtout regrettable d’entendre de la bouche du secrétaire général de la coalition du “14 mars” des mensonges. L’ancien député, Farès Souheid, avait démenti toute rumeur de désaccord entre le parti “Kataëb” et le secrétariat général de la coalition, ajoutant que la présence des représentants du parti est “palpable et continue.”
“Malgré tous les derniers évènements, M. Souheid n’a pas vu de problèmes avec le parti Kataëb? Il peut au moins être sûr que nous ne répondrons pas à son invitation à exposer nos problèmes au sein du secrétariat général”, conclut le membre du bureau politique “Kataëb.”

[Ciara O'Brien, Irish Times, 13 November]

1. Yesterday was Veterans Day. It was Armistice day in the UK and much of the British Commonwealth.  I did watch most of President Obama’s ceremony at Arlington although I had a hard time finding it at first.

2.Tomorrow is Friday the 13th.  I am not going to plan much to observe that incidence but it is the fact and one many people will note — including me I suppose.

3. Tomorrow is my mother’s birthday.  Give her a call if you know her.

4. My father, brother Simon, niece Alyse and brother’s fiancée Brooke have gone down to Mexico.  They will be there through Thanksgiving. Most years we have a large Thanksgiving feast in the House there with different members of the family, missionaries and staff hosting the feast. I have only been to a few of these. My mother and brother Joseph will be joining them down there as well. I am not sure exactly what my own plans will be yet — although I have some ideas in mind. They  will have a group of short-term missioners down with them as well and probably all of the family will be back here by December first or second.

5.The UK Parliament has ended or is ending its term and is gearing up for the State Opening. The Queen’s Speech and all the rituals are in advanced preparation I am sure.  I wrote a little verse for the occasion:

6. I did a good number of things with my niece Anika and  nephew Soren yesterday. We had a n enjoyable visit and then I went to see the film Amelia. I enjoyed and recommend it.  When I got back however there were chores to attend to and my foot which gives me trouble from time to time was in full blazing pain and I overlooked the Country Music Awards which I otherwise would have watched until it was simply too late. I hope to catch some “re-runs” on CMT but it is not the same of course.

7.The weather is beautiful here lately but I am not doing all that well in terms of enjoying it because of nagging health problems that have chosen this time to flare up. Ah well …. Life is seldom a perfect paradise here on planet Earth.

8.The New Orleans Saints are still undefeated. The Ragin’  Cajuns are not completely out of the bowl picture and the LSU Tigers are still ranked.

9. Healthcare legislation still dominates the picture in congressional discussion, media coverage and debate.

Apesar do título, não estamos falando da lentidão da Prefeitura em pagar os médicos, mas da notícia que saiu ontem no Jornal de Londrina sobre o crescimento da infestação de caramujos africanos na cidade. Quem encontrar o problema deve ligar para a Vigilância Sanitária no telefone 3376-1981.

Mas, a questão não é recente. Confira uma matéria que eu fiz há mais de dois anos (01/04/07) para o Jornal Online da UEL, Conexão Ciência. (Vale lembrar que os cargos citados na reportagem são daquela época). A edição é de Ludmilla Andrade.

Caramujos africanos: um desequilíbrio

Recentemente, houve uma infestação de caramujos africanos em Londrina. O molusco terrestre de nome científico Achatina fulica apareceu em diversos bairros da cidade e preocupou a Secretária Municipal de Saúde. Contudo, ao tomar conhecimento do problema, muitas questões devem ser abordadas, inclusive a participação humana neste desequilíbrio.

A Profª. Sirlei Bennemann, doutora na área de Ecologia e Recursos Naturais, disse que os caramujos são originários da África e foram trazidos ao Brasil na década de 80 para serem criados em cativeiros e substituir o escargot, de nome científico Helix aspersa. Como a espécie foi introduzida de forma ilegal, não se sabia os inúmeros malefícios que ela traria à saúde e, conseqüentemente, a total inviabilidade de seu consumo. A tentativa de substituição visava um lucro na indústria alimentícia, pois o caramujo africano é maior que o escargot.

Entretanto, a introdução da espécie no comércio foi um fracasso, devido à falta de hábito da maior parte da população brasileira em consumir moluscos. Com isso, os comerciantes jogaram os caramujos no meio ambiente sem pensar nos desequilíbrios que este ato poderia causar. “O homem por ignorância sobre o assunto – introduz animais e outros seres vivos em qualquer ambiente diferente dos locais de origem. Não buscar conhecimentos é uma questão cultural, isto é geral no Brasil, pois o interesse é apenas buscar lucros”, confirma a doutora.

O caramujo africano é um animal herbívoro, que causa muitos prejuízos no lugar onde se aloja. O molusco devora plantações, hortas, pomares e grãos armazenados, inclusive pode dominar outras espécies que ocupem o mesmo hábitat.

Além disso, os riscos à saúde proporcionados pelo animal são sérios. O molusco é capaz de transmitir o verme Angiostrongylus, causador da Angiostrongilíase meningoencefálica humana, doença grave que afeta o sistema nervoso central. Outra enfermidade é a Angiostrongilíase abdominal, cuja conseqüência é o comprometimento dos órgãos abdominais. Contudo, o coordenador de Endemias da secretaria municipal, Luiz Alfredo Gonçalves, disse que “nunca houve um registro oficial constando que o caramujo foi responsável por estas doenças no Brasil”.

A forma de transmissão é feita por meio da ingestão de alimentos contaminados pelo muco excretado do animal ou com o consumo direto do molusco. Entretanto, o coordenador de Endemias aconselha não manter nenhum contato físico com o animal e chamar a equipe de saúde para efetuar o recolhimento.

Segundo o coordenador, Londrina é propícia ao aparecimento da espécie devido ao clima quente. “A infestação ocorre no verão e a média de ligações diárias para efetuar a coleta é de sete telefonemas, podendo chegar a quinze, em dias de pico”, confirmou o coordenador.

Após recolhidos, os caramujos devem ser incinerados ou enterrados com cal virgem para evitar a contaminação do solo e dos lençóis freáticos. O coordenador disse que uma empresa de Londrina cedeu um forno e, assim que recolhidos, os caramujos são incinerados.

Por fim, fica evidente que as visões de fontes de diferentes áreas coincidem no agente causador esse problema: o homem. E ambos complementam que é necessário tomar as medidas necessárias para solucionar esta infestação, mas, principalmente, atentar, para as atitudes futuras, que podem resultar em muitos outros desequilíbrios.

Just detta med Arlanda är lite speciellt. För det första är det enda stationen i landet som det kostar att gå in på om man inte har biljett. Man kan fråga sig varför. Dessutom finns många olika sätt at ta sig till Arlanda från Stockholm.

Arlanda Express går var tionde minut i högtrafik och kostar Vux 240SEK. Resan tar 20 minuter.

Flygbussarna går var tionde minut och kostar 100SEK. Resan tar en timme.

Man kan ta Upptåget och byta till pendeltåget i Upplands Väsby. Det kostar 100SEK. Resan tar en timme.

Man kan ta SL-buss till Märsta och pendeltåg därifrån. Bussarna går varje kvart. Det kostar ca 50 SEK och resan tar en timme.

SJ kör några oficiella tåg per dag och de tar 18 minuter. Vux 2kl 200SEK 1kl 380SEK.

På Arlanda finns goda möjligheter till shopping och på övre plan i Sky City finns arbetsplatser med fin utsikt samt eluttag att tillgå helt gratis för alla. Det finns även ett antal avgiftsbelagda lounger och vilorum samt konferensrum. För VIP-resenärer finns även en VIP-avdelning.

1. The New Orleans Saints are 7-0 which ties their best start ever behind Bobby Hebert, the Cajun Cannon in 1991. The Monday Night Football victory over Atlanta  was very exciting. I think Atlanta is a better team in many ways than their finished product shows right now — the parts have not yet clicked into the right whole.

2. The New York Yankees won their 27th World Series title last night. The Yanks are back on top. It was an entertaining and well played series overall.

3. LSU crushed Tulane and now plays Alabama. What does any of it mean in the BCS picture? Will Oregon be in th Rose Bowl and continue a journey towards being a permanent contender? Is UL still a contender for the Sunbelt Championship?  College football is still a very indefinite situation, lots of question marks belong here.  

4.The relics of St. Mary Magdalene visited our area and I visited them at the Chapel at St. Mary Magdalene Church in Abbeville where I was baptised, made my First Communion and was wed. There was a long line visiting the relics.

7.  Police negligence stories are really being reported for the first time in my life.  The house of horrors with eleven bodies is on the news, Jaycee Dugar enslaved in a backyard in a neighborhood, he testimony by Elizabeth Smart recently, the eight prostitutes or “high risk lifestyle” women killed in a parish here in Acadiana, the millions of illegal aliens, the ACORN corruption and other stories are showing what our political system as it operates does to mundane duties like policing.

8.The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall his consort have been visiting Canada recently and I believe they are still there. He impresses me as an engaged and relevant man.

9. I lost the most recent Parliament Quiz and have only won once out of  four attempts.

10. Sarah, Kevin, Alyse, Anika and Soren are still on their trip around the eastern USA.

11. My mother’s birthday is November 13. If you know her it is time to get a card in the mail if you live far away.
