    1.6 Tb, si si tal y como suena un disco duro en estado solido que supera el tera y medio, y en el temaño de uno tradicional 3,5″, ademas si esto fuera poco se trata de el primer disco duro en estado solido que utiliza la conexión ultra320 SCSI y lo ha fabricado Bit-Micro.

    El disco duro en cuestion esta pensado para servidores y aplicaciones industriales o militares.Sería capaz de mantener tasas de transferencia de 230MB/s, con picos de 320MB/s ! en modo rafaga, ademas esta diseñado con unas NAND de celdas de un solo nivel (SLC- Single level cells), y siguiendo la tecnología patentada de bit-micro lo que sumado logran un aumento de la duración del disco, que es hoy por hoy el gran problema de los discos duros en estado solido, aparte de un precio no apto para Mileuristas.

    Otras caracteristicas son su temperatura operativa, de -40º a 85º y proteccion anti-golpes de hasta, ojo, 1500G’s , casi casi indestructible, además de poder operar hasta alturas de 120.000 pies(36000 metros) .El tiempo medio entre fallos seria de 2 millones de horas, o lo que es lo mismo unos 231 años, cosa un poco increible como de costumbre en los MTBF(Mean Time Between Fails).El tiempo de acceso es de 30 a 100 microsegundos, por lo que en un segundo podria hacer, en el peor de los casos, 10000 accesos, nada mal.

    En principio estos discos duros no se esperan hasta el tercer trimestre de 2008, los SSD de la serie irían de 16gb a 1,6Tb, y los precios…..ya os lo estareís imaginando ¿no? inaccesibles.
