Saputro Badai namanya.

Mengidolakan menantu pilihan Rasulullah. Luar Biasa!!!

Farhan Bokhari, Islamabad

China has agreed to sell Pakistan at least 36 advanced fighter jets in a deal worth as much as $1.4bn, according to Pakistani and western officials.

Beijing will supply two squadrons of the J-10 fighter jet in a preliminary agreement that could lead to more sales, said a Pakistani official. The official said Pakistan might buy “larger numbers” of the multi-role aircraft in the future, but dismissed reports that Islamabad had signed a deal to purchase as many as 150 of the fighter jets.

Defence experts described the agreement with China as a landmark event in Pakistan’s defence relationship with the military power. China’s transition from a manufacturer of low-fighters to more advanced jets comparable to some western models is seen as evidence of Beijing’s increasing strategic clout in Asia.

“China is developing a real capacity to produce and export its arms. At one point, the Chinese were dependent on imported Russian technology, but obviously China has advanced significantly beyond those days,” said Marika Vicziany, Professor of Asian studies at Monash University in Melbourne.

“This agreement should not simply be seen in the narrow context of Pakistan’s relations with China,” said Abdul Qayyum, a retired Pakistani general.

“There is a wider dimension. By sharing its advanced technology with Pakistan, China is … also saying to the world that its defence capability is growing rapidly.”

China has supplied Pakistan with fighter jets for more than three decades. But Beijing has seldom supplied Pakistan’s air force with advanced fighter aircraft. Islamabad turned to France for Mirage fighter jets in the 1970s and to the US for F-16s in the 1980s.

Pakistan has a fleet of 45 F-16s built by Lockheed Martin. The Pakistani air force is using the fighter jet in its campaign against militants in South Waziristan.

The US has agreed to sell Islamabad another 18 new F-16s and Pakistani officials also expected the US to supply about a dozen older versions of the aircraft.

Over the past decade, China and Pakistan have collaborated on building their first jointly produced advanced fighter jet, known as the JF-17, or “Thunder”. Pakistan is expected to roll out the first domestically built version of the Thunder within weeks.

Pakistan’s air force plans to purchase at least 250 of the Thunder fighters over the next four to five years.

Experts see the new Pakistani focus on China as evidence that Beijing is trying to expand its military power.

“Countries like Iran and possibly some of the Middle Eastern countries would be keen to deal with China if they can find technology which is comparable to the west,” said one western official in Islamabad.

“Pakistan will work as the laboratory to try out Chinese aircraft. If they work well with the Pakistani air force, others will follow.”

Dulu Umar sering menangis sendirian sesudah selesai menunaikan salat.

Umar menjawab, “Aku menangis kalau teringat kebiadabanku sebelum Islam. Aku pernah menguburkan anak perempuanku hidup-hidup. Dan aku tertawa jika teringat akan kebodohanku. Kubikin patungdari tepung gandum, dan kusembah-sembah seperti Tuhan.”

Abdurrahman lantas mengundurkan diri dari hadapan Khalifah Umar. Ia belumbisa menilai, sejauh mana kebenaran ucapan Umar tadi.

Akhirnya, bukti itupun datang tanpa dimintanya.

Anak yg cerdas, bayangkan, beliau mulai menulis ketika umur 3 tahun.

Kita Merindukan Pemimpin Seperti Umar bin Khattab

Suatu malam, ketika umar sedang mengontrol rakyatnya, umar mendapatkan sebuah keluarga yg sedang kelaparan. sampai-sampai mereka memasak batu untuk mendiamkan tangisan anaknya yg minta makan.

Berikut naskah surat Abdurrahman Faiz.

Kepada Yang Terhormat
Presiden Republik Indonesia Megawati
Di Istana

Assalaamualaikum wr. wb.

Ibu Mega, apa kabar?

Aku mau jadi presiden. Tapi baik. Presiden yang pintar, bisa buat komputer sendiri. Yang tegas sekali. Bisa bicara 10 bahasa. Presiden yang dicintai orang-orang. Kalau meninggal masuk surga. Ibu sayang, Bunda pernah cerita tentang Umar sahabat Nabi Muhammad.

Muka dibuat kotor. Kita dengar kesusahan rakyat. Terus kita tolong.

Tapi ibu jangan bawa pengawal. Jangan bilang-bilang. Kita tidak usah pergi jauh-jauh. Di dekat rumahku juga banyak anak jalanan. Mereka mengamen mengemis. Tidak ada bapak ibunya. Terus banyak orang jahat minta duit dari anak-anak kecil. Kasihan.

Ibu Presiden, kalau mau, ibu balas surat aku ya.

Janganlah terburu-buru menghukumku. Aku hanya melakukan satu kesalahan sedangkan engkau telah melakukan kesalahan tiga kali.

Engkau mencari-cari kesalahan orang lain, sedangkan Allah telah berfirman,

“Wa Laa Tajassasuu”
artinya, “Dan janganlah kamu mencari-cari kesalahan orang lain.” (QS Al Hujurat : 12)

(QS An Nuur : 27)

In this post, I will highlight the dangers of abiding by too literal a translation of the Holy Qur

In this post, I will highlight the dangers of abiding by too literal a translation of the Holy Qur’an- by literal I mean embracing the letter but ignoring the spirit- actually, this is no embrace at all..

When Sayyidna Umar (Ra) wanted to know what Taqwa meant, one of the eminent Sahabi answered him that Taqwa is to walk through a field of thorns, raising your leg-cloth so that the thorns do not hurt you. This is the way of the Prophets, this is the way of the Sahabah and this is the way of the pious who are always conscientious of their Lord. The Prophet said, that every king has a boundary and the boundary of Allah are his Laws (Hudood), so Taqwa is to restrain from encroaching upon His boundary, or even going near it.

Unfortunately, we mistake Taqwa for its physical manifestations like having a beard, uncovering the ankles, and so on.. what use are these if the heart is not aligned with the superordinate goal. Physical manifestations should breed Taqwa rather than endanger it. The Prophet (Pbuh) also said that there is a piece of flesh in the body, which if it is right, the whole body is right, and if it is wrong, the entire body is diseased, that piece of flesh is the heart.

Coming back to a literal translation, we know well the case of those from the Bani Israil who enquired Musa (Alayis Salaam) about which calf to sacrifice. In fact, the start of Surah Baqarah is entirely devoted to the misdeeds of the earlier communities. A case in point is their reliance on literalism, and irrelevant debates on matters all and sundry. The present torchbearers of guidance should look through this lens to see where they stand- verily, we are going down the same path. Unless the central concern of each individual becomes how to foster Taqwa in himself and his surroundings, there will always be disharmony across the globe.

By literal meanings, we are gaining nothing- unless we go through the Nur of the Qur’an true Hidayah will not dawn upon us. Going through the Nur means to get entranced, to hold fast to the Rope of Allah (Swt)- the Hablullah. This can happen only by following the Prophetic way as enshrined in his Seerah. Unless one travels this path, the path of the dervish, the path of the learned, the path of the seeker of truth, and unless one experiences a revolution in his soul and heart, there will not be much gained. There is a difference between having information and having Eeman. Others have researched more on the Qur’an than those to whom it was revealed, yet are the former guided? No, surely they are not! They have information, they have knowledge but their knowledge has not yet become Ilm- Ilm is what benefits the individual, what use is knowledge that does not benefit, but lead astray- SubhanAllah (all glory with Allah Most High)!!

Those who rely on literalism- how will they mould the spirits of men whom the message has not yet reached? Spirits are not moved by empty words, spirits are moved by the force of collective spiritual personalities. This can only come from the Nur that lies embedded in the Qur’an. People have proved lesbianism from the Qur’an, people have proved Muta (temporary marriage akin to prostitution) from the Qur’an – the second case is getting more popular in even so-called Sunni societies.

As a learned scholar has said, the real Mufti lies in the heart. So, let us focus on transforming our hearts, this can only happen through attaching the heart to its Creator. The human heart is small, it cannot accept the love of its Creator, unless the love of other entities (Hubb-e-jaah) is removed from it. Literalism focuses on the mind, the heart and soul are untouched; Spirituality focuses the light upon light upon the heart, makes the spirit receptive to the Divine Manifestation of Hidayah, which enables it to embark upon a journey of self-discovery. The Prophet (Pbuh) advised Umar (Ra) that to know oneself is to know God. This is why the Sufis of yore went into ecstasy when they found their Lord, in effect they had found their primal origin.

By AbdulBasit Khan Have you ever wondered about the issue of celebrating or partaking in Non-Muslim

By AbdulBasit Khan

Have you ever wondered about the issue of celebrating or partaking in Non-Muslim holidays, festivals and celebrations? What is the Islamic ruling regarding this? Is it permissible, is it disliked, is it impermissible? Is there a difference of opinion on this matter? Insha’Allah, in this short article, I hope that all of these (and related) questions will be answered clearly.

1. Greeting the Kuffaar on Christmas and other similar holidays of theirs is Haraam by Ittifaaq (consensus of the `Ulamaa’), as Shaykh-ul-Islaam Ibn al-Qayyim said in Ahkaam Ahl adh-Dhimmah:

“Congratulating the Kuffaar on the rituals that belong to them is prohibited by consensus, as is congratulating them on their festivals by saying ‘A happy festival to you’ or ‘May you enjoy your festival,’ and so on…”

2. It is prohibited for a Muslim to accept invitations on such occasions, because this is worse than congratulating them — as it implies taking part in their celebrations.

3. Similarly, Muslims are forbidden to imitate the Kuffaar by having parties on such occasions, or exchanging gifts, or giving out sweets or food, or taking time off work, etc. because the Prophet Muhammad said:

“Whoever imitates a people is one of them.”

This hadeeth was authenticated by a great deal of scholars including Abu Dawud, Ibn Hibbaan, Ibn Hajar, Ibn Taymiyyah (with the wording: ليس منا من تشبه بغيرنا “He is not from us, the one who imitates others beside us.”), Az-Zarqaani, Adh-Dhahabi, Al-Haythami, Al-`Iraaqi, As-Sakhaawi, As-San`aani, Muhammad Jaarullaah As-Sa’di, Ahmad Shaakir, Ibn Baaz, Al-Albaani (with the additional wording: ليس منا من تشبه بغيرنا، و لا تشبهوا باليهود و لا بالنصارى And do not imitate the Jews nor the Christians.), Ibn `Uthaymeen, and others.

Ibn Taymiyyah, in his beautiful, classic, and monumental book Iqtidaa’ as-Siraat al-Mustaqeem mukhaalifat Ashaab al-Jaheem (In Pursuit of the Straight Path by Contradicting the People of the Hellfire), said:

“Imitating them in some of their festivals implies that one is pleased with their false beliefs and practices, and gives them the hope that they may have the opportunity to mislead the weak.”

Thereforem, whoever does anything of this sort is a sinner, even if he does it out of politeness, to be friendly, too shy to refuse, or for whatever other reason, because this is hypocrisy in Islam and it makes the Kuffaar feel proud of their ways and festivals.

Please also take note of the following:

1. Remember the hadeeth of `Aa’ishah in Saheeh al-Bukhari and Muslim, where she narrated that on the Day of Eid , two young girls (Ansaari ) were doing a special performance for her (singing some songs). And then when Abu Bakr came to visit the Prophet, and found these girls with `Aa’ishah – he rebuked them harshly. So the Prophet (who had been facing the wall), said:

“Abu Bakr, (know that) every nation (every group of people) has a Eid (festival, annual day of celebration). And this is our Eid.”

Eid is the name given to something which returns (Ya’ood), and is used to describe gatherings which happen repeatedly; on a yearly, monthly or weekly basis, etc. Therefore, the Prophet clearly stated that the Eid of the People of Islam is the Eid (celebration) after Ramadaan and Eid at the end of the Hajj season. In addition to this, Friday is also considered a Eid for the Muslims, because it is a weekly gathering and is the best day of the week.

2. The Prophet also explicitly expressed his desire to contradict the ways, celebrations, and festivities of the non-Muslims. In this hadeeth that has a jayyid isnaad (good chain of narration), Umm Salamah Hind Bint Abi Umayyah said that,

The Prophet used to fast on Saturdays and on Sundays, and he would say: “These are Eidaan (two days of Eid) for the Mushrikoon. So I love to oppose them (contradict them, differ from them) in these two.” (For more info on the issue of fasting on Saturdays, see: http://www.islamway.com/?iw_s=Article&iw_a=view&article_id=2325 )

So, for the pagans, Saturday and Sunday was a special holiday for them, a Eid. On these days they would party, celebrate, relax, enjoy, dance, sing. Merry Christmas…:) And in and of itself, there’s nothing wrong with relaxing on Saturday/Sunday… but the fact that the Arab Mushrikoon took these 2 days as holidays and festive occasions was enough reason for the Prophet to want to not imitate them and fast on these days (to show his indifference and his disregard for their Eid).

So, JUST TO DIFFER FROM THEM, to show that we’re different, to indicate that he – in no way – is taking part in their Eid… he would fast on Saturdays/Sundays. It is as if to send a clear message: “I’m not partaking in the Eid of non-Muslims. I want to Differ from them. I want to differ from their practice (of relaxing, enjoying, partying) on these two days.” So – even though it’s permissible to relax on Saturdays/Sundays – he decided to exert himself and fast on these two days, just for this particular purpose. Therefore, one can just imagine what the Prophet would’ve said, if he were alive today, about Christmas or Thanksgiving!!!

What would he say – upon seeing MUSLIMS (his “followers”) greeting, and warmly congratulating the Kuffaar on their Eids ?

What if he saw his Ummah actually having Christamas trees and lights, imitating the Kuffaar and making these Eids of the disbelievers a part of their lives?

FULLY INDULGING, forget contradicting and trying to differ from them, the Muslims are not even shunning their practices, but are rather completely participating in their Traditions! ”Followers” of Muhammad as they claim, but yet we see them exchanging Christmas cards and presents with the Kuffaar and making Thanksgiving turkeys… On top of all of this, they are even allowing their children to go and partake with the Kuffaar in trick-or-treating and Halloween related events.

“Whoever imitates a people is one of them.”

So the above Prophetic Words do not apply, as some ignorant people misunderstand, to normal common things, like wearing a T-shirt, or tie, or sneakers, or driving a BMW or Mercedes-Benz SLR… no! It refers to things that are specific for Non-Muslims and are well-known to be widely practiced by Kuffaar. For ‘Eids’ like Halloween, Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter, there is no doubt whatsoever that such Eids fall into this meaning (Cool fact ~ Based on the above Hadeeth, if you strive to imitate Muhammad and his Companions, then you are from them:).

3. I just came across something else Ibn al-Qayyim said in his book, Ahkaam Ahl adh-Dhimmah (1/723-724). He stated:

“It is not permissible for the Muslims to attend the festivals of the disbelievers, according to the consensus of the scholars whose words carry weight.

The Fuqahaa’ who follow the 4 schools of thought have stated this clearly in their books. Al-Bayhaqi narrated with a saheeh isnaad from ‘Umar ibn al-Khattaab that he said:

“Do not enter upon the disbelievers on the day of their festival, for divine wrath is descending upon them.”

And ‘Umar also said:

“Avoid the enemies of Allah on their festivals.”

Al-Bayhaqi narrated with a jayyid isnaad from ‘Abdullaah ibn ‘Amr that he said: “Whoever settles in the land of the non-Arabs and celebrates their new year and festival and imitates them until he dies in that state, will be gathered with them on the Day of Resurrection.” ” SCARY

So yes, most definitely, as the Prophet told us (as reported in Saheeh Al-Bukhaari):

“A person will be with the one whom he loved (on the Day of Resurrection).”

YOU will be with the one whom you loved. “Love” is not just saying, I love Allah, I love Islaam, I love Prophet Muhammad. Love is not talk. Talk is cheap! Love is, striving to imitate, to be like, and to follow the practices of someone or something.

Now, ask yourselves this: Are you imitating the Prophet more in your life, or are you abandoning his Sunan? Forget about whether it’s Waajib or Sunnah. This isn’t a Fiqh issue. It’s an issue of: Do you really love the Prophet Muhammad such that you will strive to imitate him in every aspect of your life? Or are you imitating the Kuffaar more in your life? Who do you wish to be resurrected amongst – the Prophet Muhammad and his Companions, or the Kuffaar?

In this time and age when the Ummah is being preyed upon and being attempted to shatter into a thous

In this time and age when the Ummah is being preyed upon and being attempted to shatter into a thousand pieces, many Muslims are trying to unite under different banners and flags to keep some sort of sanity in their lives and nations.

One thing that is very common amongst Muslims in the west is both sides of Sunnis and Shias trying to form bonds of friendship and unity.

The view of Shi’ism according to the Orthodox Sunni tradition is a very contentious issue. Mainly because many of the “‘Ulema” of our age are inequipped to handle the issue of divergent creeds and philosophies and debate in a respectful manner. There are some who will say the Shi’a are outright non-Muslim and quote numerous classical excerpts from previous great scholars to back up their claims. The issue with this is that the term ‘Shi’a’ has many different connotations and meanings. What Shi’a means or has meant has differed according to the particular time, place, or group you are referring to. An example is the Shi’a Fatamid empire of Egypt, who used to pray towards Karbala in Iraq. The mainstream “Twelver” Shi’a of today all pray towards Makkah. If we look at our main books of Aqeedah, you will find it mentioned that “We do not make takfir (Accuse people of apostasy) of those who pray towards our Qibla”. Likewise there are other Shi’a doctrines that held that a seventh of the Qur’an was missing and would be returned by the Mahdi, as well as the belief that ‘Ali held some sort of divinity, again these are opinions not held by most mainstream Shi’a.

Then there are those who claim the Shi’a are Orthodox Muslim and that they should be wholly accepted into the Muslim community and so on. But do not address the issue of many Shi’as who gather to slander the Companions of the Prophet (May Allah be pleased with them all), wrongly accuse Abu Bakr and ‘Umar of murdering Fatima al-Zahra, the denial of seeing Allah in the afterlife, the practice of temporary marriage, and so on.

So what is the position of the Shi’a according to orthodoxy?

The following article is succinct and excellent in summarising the issue of Shi’ism:

http://idawah.co.uk/a/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=32&Itemid=59

The following file is also an excellent leaflet that addresses the divergence of Sunni and Shi’a doctrine based solely on the Qur’an, it is something that can be distributed to our Shi’a brothers and sisters and given out in dawah centres:

http://britishmisk.wordpress.com/files/2009/11/5waysashiacanfindfreedom.pdf

One should definitely read these articles if they are interested in learning more about the Shi’a according to the Sunni tradition. Both articles were written by Sheikh Abu Ja’far al-Hanbali a great and erudite scholar of our time currently residing in the city of Nottingham. Much is said about our Sheikh, but having met him personally I can firmly say that he is true on the path of orthodoxy and a illuminating guide for the youth of our time.

To conclude with my own personal stance:

If an individual attaches the label of Shi’a to themself that does not render them a non-Muslim. However, there are a number of issues regarding the creed of Shi’ism that are completely unacceptable in Orthodox Islam, namely regarding the status of Khalifa’ta-Rasul Abu Bakr as-Siddiq (May Allah be pleased with him). As one who does not accept Abu Bakr as a Muslim can himself not be considered a Muslim. If one were to subscribe completely to each of the divergent issues of doctrine found in Shi’ism, it would bring that individual’s status as a believer into doubt. For this and other issues again I would direct you to the articles I have linked above.

Peace.

Praise be to Allaah. We do not think there is anything wrong with missing a person who has died, eve

Praise be to Allaah.

We do not think there is anything wrong with missing a person who has died, even though that implies wishing to meet him and be close to him, although one is alive and the other person is dead, and this feeling serves no real purpose.

But if we say that we wish we could meet the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and the Sahaabah (may Allaah be pleased with them), and the Taabi’een and the scholars, this feeling is the hope of meeting them in Paradise, and the person who wishes that he could meet these great people has to strive hard so that his Lord will be pleased with him and will admit him to Paradise with them, so that his longing will be fulfilled and will come to pass. This is the good result of longing to see the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and the Sahaabah.

This is the way in which the Sahaabah missed the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) after he died. For example, Muslim narrated that Anas said: “After the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) died, Abu Bakr (may Allaah be pleased with him) said to ‘Umar, ‘Let us go and visit Umm Ayman as the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to visit her. When they came to her, she wept, and they said, ‘Why are you crying? What is with Allaah is better for His Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).’ She said, ‘I am not weeping because I do not know that what is with Allaah is better for His Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). Rather I am weeping because the Revelation from heaven has come to an end.’ That moved them deeply and they began to weep with her.”(Muslim, 2454)

But if this missing a deceased friend or relative makes a person feel grief and despair – and sometimes distress – and makes him object to the will and decree of Allaah, then this should not be allowed and should be denounced and forbidden, because this may lead to the development of bad characteristics which Islam strives to keep its followers away from. The Muslim should be happy and content with the will and decree of Allaah and His rule and law.

And Allaah knows best.
