Well, a Paris company named “Le Slip Francais” has a solution for you. The company has created underwear for men that have a sweet-smelling scent.

The underwear will be filled with micro-capsules that are filled with homemade perfume. According to the company, when a man moves, the underwear will release the perfume.

The underwear will last up to twenty washes.

So far, the under-garments are flying off the racks, “Le Slip Francais” has sold over 20,000 pairs of blue, red and white pairs of underwear.

For the past 2 days I’ve been a regular at the local public library (which is probably my first mistake). There is a serial cougher on the loose. I don’t mean to poke fun at him; I just want to discuss his actions. I dont believe, NO, I hope he doesn’t do it on purpose. He must have some kind of sickness, or be a heavy smoker. When ever he coughs I automatically gag, and make an ugly face. Luckily today I wore my favorite hooded oxford shirt, this allowed me to hide my animated disgust face. (I can’t help it, I’m one of those people who wears his emotions on his face – especially disgust).

The thought that he’s producing some nasty green & brown, thick liquid from the depths of his throat is enough to cause one to vomit. The last time he coughed I just happened to have some of my spit in my mouth. Talk about leaving a bad taste in your mouth!

Let me go into a brief description of my man. He’s like that nasty uncle that every family has. The uncle that’s actually pretty funny, and probably a really nice guy; however his presentation and physical state are just poor. This guy has a huge red nose, and ears. There is a bunch of flaky skin on his eye-brows, nose and ears. I couldn’t determine if he had dandruff, but I’d be willing to bet he did. He has bad skin pretty much all over, I can verify this because he has on the short grandpa khakis and the shortsleeve Tommy Bahama shirt thats become the annoying uncle/grandpa uniform. His skin-tone colored dress socks go all the way up to his calves; but they don’t cover the blue veins and skin discoloration, nor the age signs evident in his skin. The most interesting thing about his skin was the ashiness of his elbows. Usually this is a problem for people of my complexion- I’ve always found it more nasty/disturbing when white people have extremely ashy elbows. Everyone misses an application of Jergens from time to time- it takes effort and consistency for extreme ashiness to be evident on caucasian elbows (Neglect). I’d be willing to bet he has on a pair of 4 year old fruit of the loom tighty whities that are not so white anymore. I think I just grossed myself out!

Anyway, people cover your mouth when you cough- you are grossing people out. Stop smoking too!

Decided to work on fundamentals by doing some copies from a book I have of 60′s ads. This first one was a surreal, whimsical ad for undies. But I sort of took it in a dark direction.

Were they called vegans in the 60′s?

Seriously. There were a lot of ads that were picking on beats, non-conformists, and hipsters. Things never change.

This is what I wish I could have worn growing up. In fact, this is kind of what I looked like. All my clothes were salvation army or hand-me-downs from other families. A lot of it looked like is had been around since the 60′s/70′s.

I’ve been bad about posting, but I promise, my imaginary friends, that I can be better. I will be better.

After we have just replaced the washers and dryer, I have suddenly become more aware of how much laundry we do on a weekly basis. William never wears a pair of jeans twice, they get washed. If he has a t-shirt on for an hour, it goes into the laundry basket. He baths twice a day, changes his underwear after he baths, and in summer sometimes puts on new pair of undies when he sleeps, So we have a lot of washing, and the towels get changed at least twice a week. If I leave any clothes out, they get put in the laundry bin. William is obsessed with clean clothes.

The way I see it, if you live with someone you have to accept the quirky things, the irritating habits, the good, the not so good. In other words accept the person for who they and all the habits they have. They actually have to live with ours as well. You cannot change anybody, however we must respect each other and be considerate of someone else. For us, we have compromised, we each have our own bathroom, as when we shared a bathroom in William home, it caused friction. William loves to lie in the bath, I don’t. And when it was all said and done, it was not worth it. We have to keep our own individuality, be our own person. But we want to share our life’s.

Two people cannot be more different than William and myself, I feel the cold, and in winter will have an electric blanket and William will be comfortable in a t shirt. I wear formal clothes to work, William wears jeans, I notice the small things around me, William sometimes is very oblivious to what’s happening around him. William is not a big talker, but I cannot or do don’t want to change this person. I will rather hang up three loads of washing, than live in an unhappy home.

Press and buyers enjoyed a midweek tea party at the Eveden Press Day this Wednesday, where the lingerie and swimwear collections were presented among colourful cupcakes, delicious mocktails and vintage teapots.

One thing’s for sure: Forty-four must be the lucky number for former supermodels looking to get back in the game.

First, Jason Wu tapped 44-year-old Stephanie Seymour for his gorgeous Spring 2013 ads, and now premiere supermodel turned activist Christy Turlington is set to return to Calvin Klein Underwear as the face (the body?) of its Fall 2013 global advertising campaign. Oh, and she’s 44 years old, too.

The fact that top designers are embracing strong women in their 40′s to front major campaigns is a big deal in and of itself, but the fact that Turlington has such a long history with Calvin Klein makes the news even more exciting for nostalgic fashion fans.

After walking her first runway for the classic American label in 1987, Turlington fronted dozens of campaigns for the brand’s multiple lines and fragrances, most notably the now-iconic, minimalist ’90s ads for Eternity and Calvin Klein underwear.

Now, Turlington is set to star in a series of ads shot by Mario Sorrenti—who famously photographed Kate Moss for Calvin Klein’s notable Obsession campaign—for Calvin Klein Underwear, which will appear in the September issues of fashion magazines as well as on digital and outdoor platforms, according to a press release we received.

This news follows Turlington’s June Harper’s Bazaar cover, and—inside the magazine—she honestly admits: ”I’m healthy, I haven’t done anything to myself, I exercise. But … I’m not entirely comfortable with myself in underwear either!”

She also tells Bazaar she’s guilty of keeping a giant photo of herself in her actor husband Ed Burns’ bathroom.

“I have a poster of me from the Mario Sorrenti Calvin underwear campaign on the back of my husband’s bathroom door because we were dating at the time. He was like, ‘I’m with that!’ And I was like, ‘No, you’re not.‘ Today I’m like, ‘You can remember that person, now that you know what it’s really like to be married to me,” she said.

We wouldn’t know about that, but we do know she’s barely aged a day, as evidenced by the below photo.

If you don’t mind indulging me for a moment, I’ll explain what I mean when I say ‘small moment’. In elementary school children are learning about writing a single small moment. With that they learn punctuation, adjectives, adverbs and the such.  But more importantly, they learn how to take one single thing (like going to a friend’s b’day party) and to expand on it to tell a short story. So they take that one moment and add details, offer explanation, relate dialog (sometimes to this mom’s horror), and expand on that one small moment in time. It also helps teach them that one single moment has a last effect on them and the world around them.

It’s those types of moments in my every day that sometimes inspire me the most. As you all know, I’ve been editing like a crazy person on my full-length MS with hopes of it being picked up by a publisher. However, this coming weekend I am going to the mountains and will get to focus on nothing but my writing.  So to prepare (and get out of my editing funk), I started brainstorming a different plot line that’s been running through my head for days.

All because of one small moment.

 
The moment when I was buying new underwear and misplaced some by the time I checked out. In my mind, all I could imagine was a trail of random underwear around a department store.

Kinda like Dorothy’s yellow brick road… only boy-short briefs, string bikinis, and hipsters… OH MY!!

I have countless numbers of these small moments stored in my brain-base to pull from when I write. And I sometimes think having these moments of inspiration that come from a personal moment in my life is what makes my writing feel more authentic. When people read my work, they come away laughing or empathizing (or whatever) and it makes me feel like I’ve done my job.  I’ve given them an experience.  Which is all I can hope for as a writer–to give someone an experience that will feel real and authentic. (And possibly be a true and embarrassing story from my small moments memory-bank)

What are some of yours??

I wanted to celebrate my 15 minutes of fame, but I had trouble figuring out what would be satisfying. I could go out for a nice dinner with Donna, but I don’t want to sabotage reaching my goal at Weight Watchers. I could treat myself to a new piece of computer paraphernalia, but blogging was supposed to be an inexpensive hobby. I could buy a pair of waterproof Keen summer hikers that I’ve been eyeing, but the space under my bed is already cluttered with dusty shoes. Then I remembered these posts from Buzz Cuts and Bustiers and Butch Wonders.

My Dad wore cotton poplin boxer shorts; my brother wore basic Fruit of the Loom briefs. The kind with the Y-pocket and the striped band. I coveted the briefs. I had a habit of stealing a pair, wearing them, and then putting them in the laundry basket. I was caught wearing them in 11th grade math class. I told the girl that I had run out of clean ones and that it was better to borrow his than to recycle a dirty pair. I had not worn men’s underwear since.

Based on this post from Autostraddle, I decided to try American Eagle boxer briefs. I’ve shopped there before and found them queer friendly. I prefer to shop in stores that cater to all genders; it is less intimidating than walking into a store that only sells men’s. I could have shopped online, but I didn’t know exactly what I wanted.

I have a drawer full of plain white, plain gray, and plain black 100% cotton Jockey hipsters. I order them online by the dozen, sparing myself the dysphoria from shopping in Macy’s Intimates department. I figured to buy one pair of American Eagle low-rise boxer trunks in white and one pair in gray and give them a try (wear, launder, and decide what to do next).

I stood in front of the wall of boxers. I was smitten. They were beautiful. There was a pair with blue and orange stripes (Let’s Go Mets), and a pair in red with turquoise blue Hawaiian flowers. The low rise trunks came in bright blue and hot pink and neon green. All with that nice wide waistband to play peek-a-boo with, and a little pouch without the extra layers of fabric (no-Y). I wanted all of them. I bought the stripes and the flowers.

Because they were for men I did not hesitate to buy them. I could pretend to be a dandy. I could pretend to be a surfer boy. In a million years I would never buy a pair of flowered women’s panties. But Hawaiian trunks, no problem. If the exact same shorts had been in the women’s department, I wouldn’t have considered them. I wouldn’t be caught dead in them. Change the context and they are fabulous.

I’ve only worn them once, but I feel at home in the trunks.  They give me a little “I know you know” feeling when I wear them. I do not feel at home in my Jockey for Hers; I tolerate them. It isn’t about projecting a gender expression. The trunks are my little secret. It is about feeling grounded and not having anything trigger my dysphoria. The trunks do not disrupt my internal sense of being who I am, butch and transgender.

When I can, I buy men’s clothing. Nature and beer have made me a chubby petite. I have trouble buying clothes that fit me the way I want them to. The women’s clothing I buy must be so man-tailored that you can’t tell that they are women’s. If they made men’s brassieres I would buy them (I know they make binders and compression undershirts but I have another thing about being comfortable). I think of my bras as “gym equipment”. I know this is absurd.

Clothing, including underwear, must have no trace of femininity. All items go through a metamorphosis in my brain to become suitable attire. I learned as a child to re-imagine offensive clothing to make it wearable. Three quarter length sleeves became football jerseys. Pointed sneakers became cleats. Girls panties became boys briefs. This time no brain contortions are required. My trunks are real.
