It’s definitely worth the few minutes to park and run in to see what awesome finds might be waiting for you!

Target still has this amazing Star Wars bedding in stock, including these awesome pillows.

They also carry a Spider-Man set of bedding and pillows. When we first mentioned these, most people were having a hard time finding them in their own local Targets, but at this point all main stores should be carrying them and be displaying them prominently at the end of one of their bedding aisle. Definitely worth a look.

There’s also some great kitchenware and intimate apparel currently in stock. These various DC, Marvel, Star Wars, and Star Trek glasses have been in stock at my local Target for the past month:

And I just spied these awesome DC and Marvel underwear on display in the last week. I picked up the Wonder Woman pair (at the bottom of the picture) and really wish more of the underwear were that style instead of the basic logo style.

Walmart continues to prove a source for great little finds and is well worth a quick stop. They always seem to carry a general array of geek t-shirts in their Women’s Clothing section, but these two shirts were new finds for me:

But the best finds at Walmart, for me at least, continues to be in their nightwear section. I found these great Wonder Woman booty shorts the last time I was there, and after stopping by this week I was pleasantly surprised (read: freaked out) to discover the Batgirl version of these shorts!

You might need to act fast on finding either of these shorts. I think they might be phasing them out as the ones at my store were already being discounted. I ripped the entire display apart to luck out and find the only pair in my size.

Through my rummaging around I also stumbled across this adorably sexy PJ set which was an instant buy. I find it rare to find licensed geek-themed sexy nightwear, so I was pretty happy to see something like this. It’s worth checking out Walmart’s nightwear section if you’re a fan of The Muppets. I’ve noticed shorts, lounge pants and tops that all have The Muppets on them.

I have never been so shocked in a long time, my blog hits jumped to about 750 in one day, which on the face of it may seem as a good thing, but it’s not…..

I did a bit of math on the stats and it turns out that 65% yes 65% of the hits were people who were actually looking for the video clip.

Where has our society gone to, when such a terrible thing like the rape of a teenager is firstly recorded on a mobile phone, that goes viral, but worse than that is the amount of people actually looking for a video clip.

How is it that with the growth of the biggest information, and knowledge sharing database known to man called the internet, some have moved into seeking demeaning and degrading videos and images on the web ?

So why am I not totally jumping for joy for my trip home? Don’t get me wrong, I am very happy to be going home. I have a life, a love, a home and a career to get back to. It’s just so hard to leave London because I’ve been here for so long. For the past six weeks, yes, six weeks, all I’ve done is eat, sleep, breathe and dream Ogbogu. And now that that is done, it feels like everything else is trivial. It’s like going through withdrawal. Like coming down from a high, although this was by no means a high. We all had so much adrenline pumping through us, which is what helped us stay focused and see this thing through. Now my blood is calm.

I don’t want to leave Maduka. We had been in a fox hole together over this thing, every hour of everyday for weeks. We fought, we laughed and we cried together. Now I’m going to leave? It really sucks. He looks so much like Ogbogu and sometimes when I watch him sleep, I get anxious. I get anxious because the pictures of Ogbogu’s body flash through my head when I look at Maduka sleeping. I look at him closely to make sure that his chest is rising and falling; to make sure that he is still breathing. He is grown man, but he is younger brother. I worry about how he’s going to deal without me here. My compensation is that he has a very strong support system of friends who will be there for him. I can rest easy knowing that.

For the first time, my career is on the back burner. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still a hustler and a fighter to core, but it all just seems so trivial. As I say that, I remember that Ogbogu left behind four children and I have sworn that they will never suffer. They will have the life that none of have. They will have the opportunity to start at the 50 yard line instead of the 0 yard line. Power and financial stability is the only thing that guarantees that. For that reason, you better believe that I will never stop pushing.

It’s time to go, I know it, but it’s such a bittersweet pill to swallow.

We went on and talked for over 30 minutes. It was nuts. That’s a very long time to talk, it’s even longer if you’re not on top of your game and can keep it interesting. If you don’t know your s#*t inside and out, not only will you look stupid, the channel looks unprofessional and loses viewers. We talked about everything. We talked about modeling, acting, boxing and Ogbogu. We even took some phone calls from some really nice fans of mine. I found out that a lot of the violent crime being commited in London these days involve Nigerians and Africans. That was not the case a few years ago. The youngsters definitely need positive role models. That’s where I come in. I’m not afraid to be a role model for kids. I actually want to take on that respnsibility head on.

 After about 20 minutes, Femi told me that they were going to play my sizzle reel. After the reel played, we talked for about 10 more minutes. That’s an awfully long time to talk, but I’m not complainig.

The lesson learned from this story is, IT PAYS TO BE ON TOP OF YOUR GAME!!

It is such an interesting thing, crying that is. I wonder exactly what chemical reaction goes on in the brain to cause us to cry. Sometimes you know when it’s coming, sometimes you don’t. It could be triggered by a word or collection of words, a scent, a song, a scene in a film, sometimes it can be brought on by just a thought.

I would feel as though someone stuck their hand into my midsection and ripped my insides out. I feel the gaping hole. I lose my breath. Tightness in my chest. Then it begins. It begins with a feeling that washes over me, a mildly tingling feeling all over my body. I feel a slight burning in my eyes because of the salt in the tears. My eyes fill up and the tears start to roll. As the tears come out of my eyes and cascade down my face, it warms the skin on my face. It feels like a hot stream.

Large drops hit my shirt, my pants, my clothes. I wipe them away, but they keep coming. I allow myself to feel every second of it. I sit in it and with it. I don’t think about feeling better afterwards, I just sit and sometimes I stand. Sometimes when it’s happening, it feels as though the pain will never go away. It’s ok, I’m not afraid. I just sit in it. When it’s all cried out, there is a very long exhalation. When you are aware of it, it feels like a lifetime. The long breath leaving my body releases me. With the long exhalation, my breath is restored. Sometimes I get extremely hungry, but most of the time, I just get really sleepy.

He has been called one of the best boxers of his generation, a powerful yet graceful presence in the ring and one of the quickest studies the fight world has ever seen.  Within three years of beginning his career in 2005, Ngoli Onyeka Okafor, became a two-time heavyweight champion, winning back-to-back Golden Gloves, amateur boxing’s highest distinction.  His accomplishments are even more impressive when one considers Ngo’s background.  Raised in the Ibo speaking region of Nigeria, the second child of a Harvard academic and a teacher, sports were frowned upon in his house; brains were always valued over brawn.  “My dad used to say athletes are like jesters in a kings court,” recalls Ngo, whose name means joy in Ibo.  “I’ve always appreciated the value of a good education, but him saying that used to really piss me off, because I felt like I could have both.”  He attended the University of Connecticut in the US and studied computer science, eventually landing a job with the Connecticut Department of Transportation, where he taught engineers and architects how to draw using computers.  “I’ve always loved computers and there’s a part of me that will always be a bit of a nerd,” says Ngo.  “But I also knew that I was naturally athletic and I wanted to see where that side would take me.  I was curious to see if I could play at the highest level.”
 
He accidentally stumbled into boxing five years ago, at the ripe old age of 31 (around the time when most fighters hang up their gloves).  What began as a simple workout routine  (punching the bag, jumping rope, etc) quickly grew into an all-consuming passion for Ngo, who, at the urging of several fashion photographers, had relocated to New York City to pursue modeling.  Professional fighters who watched him sparring noticed his innate talent and encouraged him to develop his skill.  With the fierce dedication he’s applied to his work throughout his life, he immersed himself in the ring, training five to six hours a day…every day.  “Boxing became my life,” he says.  “I wanted to be one of the best that ever did it.

I started later than most fighters, so I know I had to make up for lost time. After winning the Golden Gloves by unanimous decision in 2008 and 2009, Ngo, never one to rest on his laurels, turned his sites towards modeling and acting. With his boyish good looks, chiseled physique and quiet intensity, he was a natural.  Over the years, he’s posed with supermodels like Gisele Bundchen (V Magazine) and superstars like Mary J. Blige (MAC Cosmetic’s Viva Glam campaign).  He’s appeared in more than a dozen issues of Men’s Health Magazine, has produced two best-selling calendars and has been featured in publications ranging from Vogue and W to ESPN and Fortune. 

Most recently, he was celebrated alongside five Olympians in the Spring issue of the Wall Street Journal Magazine.  As a result of all of his efforts, he is now considered to be the most downloaded black male model in the world.  Ngo’s acting career is also taking off.  His television work has included stints on soap operas and TV series. He just wrapped work on a feature film titled “Jeremy Fink and The Meaning of Life”.  Ngo also worked on “The Rebound”, starring Catherine Zeta Jones, which opens in theaters in summer 2010 and he’s currently at work on, “Triumph of the Will,” a feature-length documentary, which chronicles his journey from Nigeria to the top of the boxing world.  “I really want the film to inspire people to dream big and work hard,” says Ngo.  “That’s always been my mantra and so far so good.”

A trend this holiday season was for big girls to be encouraged to be naughty, not nice. Did that happen at your home?

Experts say a trend that has been developing in lingerie boomed this holiday season and will continue for some time — bondage-hemed lingerie. Fetish-style intimates seem to be for the woman who wants to be bad, but just needs a little help.

The Telegraph reports that bondage-style lingerie, inspired by stage outfits worn by Lady Gaga and Rihanna, has become this season’s top trend when it comes to buying intimates. London department store Selfridges tells the paper that the average lingerie spend is up by 20 percent, with customers going for more daring brands like Agent Provocateur and Myla.

Other purveyors of bondage-inspired bras, panties and playsuits are young British designer Nichole de Carle, Dutch designer Marlies Dekkers (who counts Beyoncé, Katy Perry and Nicole Sherzinger among her fans) and French designer Maxine Wattam. And this risqué bedroom dressing doesn’t come cheap, with prices for Wattam’s elaborate embellished pieces reaching $4,600.

That makes even an upscale set at Romantika sound like a deal, doesn’t it?

Helen Attwood, Selfridges‘ head lingerie buyer, explained the trend: “This winter S&M has gone couture. Gone are the days of bondage lingerie looking more back-street than Bond Street. To keep up with demand for lingerie with serious edge, we’re about to launch our most expensive erotica yet. Sales of the sexiest designs of lingerie are already up 50 per cent

Apparently this holiday season wasn’t white, it was black silk with leather trim!

And if you’re good — or is that bad? — it’s a gift that can keep on giving all year.

However, this morning…I was blind-sided and left speechless by an object of sheer euphoria and endless possibility….

I admit, I was completely thrown off-guard when The Mom dragged out a hulking box from under the tree this morning (and when I say dragged, I mean, dragged..like the Egyptians carrying large, massive blocks along miles and miles of desert to create an awe-inspiring pyramid…those blocks were probably smaller than this package).

The Mom looks better in a loin cloth, too.

It was gigantic, it was enormous, it was…beautiful.  What on earth could it be???  In the grand scheme of things, I had already had an amazing Christmas.  I was already owner of a brand-spanking new camera:  I could have re-wrapped it in its Best Buy packaging and opened it up again and again, in front of a captivated audience consisting of my mom and dad.  I could have even given up the traditional stocking gift of new underwear.

But nay, gentle readers.  The Mom didn’t stop at undergarments.  She, with a possessed twinkle in her eye, presented me with a gargantuan box of wonder, and stepped back to survey her presentation.  She looked kind of like a genie, appearing both delighted and maniacal at the work she had done.

No, not like THAT……….more like THIS.

The contents of the box baffled me.  I was certainly not expecting anything more for Christmas, unless The Mom had just taken poor Bailey, adorned her with a bow, and shoved her into a box.

Nah, it couldn’t have been Bailey.  She was sitting there beside me, contentedly gnawing on excess wrapping paper and firewood.  And The Mom, although very eager to sedate my dog with Benadryl, would never subject her to a festively wrapped holding cell.  So, what was in the box?

My fingers trembled with anticipation.  My eyes frantically blinked away all traces of sleep, as I struggled to focus on the unwrapping task at hand.  I tore away layer after layer of paper, flipped over a unrecognizable cardboard box, and saw it staring up at me…

Since the invention of the Christmas present, there have only been five presents that were rated as the most awe-inspiring, the most breathtaking.  This one left them all behind…

For about three minutes after unwrapping said wonder, no words fell from my mouth.  I was left speechless by the stainless steel phenomena embraced by my arms (no really, I honestly hugged the damn thing).  I have never been so surprised by a Christmas present in my life.

Sure, I had asked for a Kitchen Aid mixer for the holidays…but I had filed the wish away under the category of “Not Friggin’ Possible.” It was a big purchase, and I could rationalize welcoming it as a member of my family at another point in my life.  When I had more space, when I had more money, when I had someone other than myself to bake for.  It certainly was not meant to arrive this early.

And now, almost 2 hours after its Christmas birth, it still has left me speechless.  Visions of chocolate chip cookies and blueberry muffins have already begun dancing through my head.  No more $15 hand-held mixer for me!  I’m hitting the big time, folks!  Start spreading the news!  Martha Stewart ain’t got nothing on me!

No matter how big or how small or how gourmet-related, I hope that you find a Christmas filled with surprises that leave you speechless.  I hope that you’re able to find appreciation for those who surround you, and love for those who shower you with such affection.  I hope you find the strength to fortify you through difficult moments, and the positivity needed to find the light at the end of the tunnel.  I hope you can be filled with joy and surrounded by the warmth of family, friends, and kin.  But most of all, I hope this holiday brings you laughter to keep a smile on your face, for today, tomorrow, and throughout the new year.

Calvin Klein X brings out True Blood’s Mehcad Brooks, Japanese star Hidetoshi Nakata and Spanish tennis star Fernando Verdasco.

Women’s Wear Daily doesn’t seem too happy that the faces and bodies of these fella are being covered up. Not. At. All.

The campaign also stars True Blood’s Mehcad Brooks. Though he does not play a vampire in the series, Brooks brings added vampire flavor to the campaign, along with those red Xs, which are not there to make you think of blood-sucking but to remind you that the new manty range being advertised here is called “X.” But how are we supposed to tell if all those push-ups Kellan is doing in elevators are paying off when his figure is obscured by a giant transparent letter? Oh, Calvin Klein, how you SLAY us.
