Its pretty simple, I love dogs! I admit it! I have a unique ability to read a dog and capture their personality on camera. I don’t do bumps, babes in bras, brides, or babies; I photograph dogs. Let it be known that not every photographer has the ability to baby whisper, smash cakes with a toddler, make a bride blush, or get a stoic dad to smile and this is the same for the love of dogs. Although I have been asked by friends to take photos it isnt what I do…. however I will happily refer you to someone, I am about dogs. My goals for this winter is to broaden my artistic scope into using natural light indoors in order to offer clients the option of capturing their precious pooches in the bed, on the bed, under the covers, stealing the covers, or just lounging around on the sofa.

It never really occured to me that leashes wear out, buckles break, dogs heads get smaller when they want out of a collar and they slip out! For the love of dog this never happens when I’m by myself! It always seems to happen when I’m walking at riverbend park and some crazed off leash maniac named scooter is flying up the hill launching at my brand new show puppy! Oh yea! True story! My snap had worn out and popped off my collar- LUCKY for me my dog was small enough to swoop up into my arms but a bad thing could have happened. After volunteering with Chako I learned how important using a back up leash can be. The best way to secure your dog is to have a euro leash. A euro leash is designe to have a snap at each end. One snap is connected to a collar; IE your prong, correction collar, or a flat. The other is connected to a harness or secondary collar giving you the ability to have a “back up” method of control. You can see in the photos below my puppy harlow backed up to her harness.

One of my goals, with for the love of dog was to provide some retail support. I have found it NEARLY impossible to find products locally and quickly for my needs and for my friends. In 2012 we plan to launch and e commerce website for you to purchase items that have made my life easier like euro leashes, gappay balls (which are instock), simple flat collars, toggle correction collars, etc Local people will be able to pick items up in oroville and I will be able to ship all over the country.

The new Euro Leashes are $35 we are set up to securely take Visa, Mastercard, and of course cash

Hello! My name is Tiffany Damm and I’m a Northern California pet paw-tographer ;) I get asked often why I decided to start, “for the love of dog” I’ve always been intrigued by the intense bond that man has with his dog. I remember about two years ago walking out of my day job and seeing a homeless man, down on his luck with his dog sitting by a store. I went back inside and made him a bowl of macaroni and cheese. I am not sure why I did this, we get vagrants from time to time but never did I stop. Steam rose from the warm bowl on that cold winter day as i handed it to him, he set it down, and fed his dog first. I was so taken aback by his gesture. I started talking to him about his Chow mix that had some of the best obedience I had seen in sometime. He told me she was his only friend. I walked to my car where I had a few collars and leashes for my own dog and fitted her for him. He was eternally grateful. That intense bond isn’t one that every dog owner has, it’s the dog owner that has drool on their shirt, dog hair on their couch, and picks vacations solely based on whether the dog can go that has the unmistakable love for canines.

I always took photos but it wasn’t till the purchase of my first camera that I realized you can capture the personality of a dog in one single snap shot and within a week I was launching a website and booking sittings.

I believe every set of eyes tells a story. Could you imagine being dropped off and left… hoping that your best friend will come back and get you? Would you take a good photo if that happened? Often the photos take of animals in search of forever homes depcit a scared, frightened, confined animal. Gifted photographers have an uncanny ability of brining a dogs best qaulities to the surface. Shelters, and rescues often lack the resources and the ability to provide such services. I believe everyone deserves a second chance. For the love of dog offers free photos to shelters and rescues who are trying to find forever homes for their animals whether it be a horse, a cat or a dog. Please contact us to set up a time
