Hey world, so I’m in Ecuador… Pretty crazy, right? Well, while I’m here, I’l

Hey world, so I’m in Ecuador… Pretty crazy, right? Well, while I’m here, I’ll try to update y’all regularly on the things happening in my life and the beautiful places I go and the sights I see. That said, if you want it to seem like I’m still alive, feel free to check back for posts and see the secondhand sights.

Thus far, plenty has happened here. I’ve been thrown into a world of entirely Spanish, jumped onto a moving bus, bartered for some fruit on the street, met plenty of people, and just lived a different life. You should try it. It’s pretty cool. Now I have two months to live apart from my world and the chance to learn more than I could ever learn in two months in the states. También… solamente hablamos en español. That’s a load of fun. If I say one palabra del inglés, my host mother just laughs a little. Yes, she knows plenty of English, but that would totally ruin my experience, right?

In the coming weeks, I’ll be heading to a few special places in the country and soaking up the rays (I’m bronzing beautifully). We’ve been to the university and met the people and tomorrow, we’ll begin the class craziness. There is so much to look forward to as me and my classmates try to live our new, albeit temporary, live far away from the preoccupations and the troubles that our usual lives bring us.

Now, feel free to follow this life as I try my best to live in Ecuador. I have no problems, there is no bad news (although I’ve received plenty from the states), and I am simply un estudiante nuevo at La Universidad San Fransisco de Quito.
