Hotum.vbs. Satu lagi virus lokal jenis VBScript dikenal dengan nama Hotum.vbs. Memiliki ukuran sekitar 8KB. Ia akan aktif otomatis dengan mengganti registry userinit milik Windows serta membuat item run baru. Mudah mengenali komputer yang telah terinfeksi virus ini. In the last few updates VMware has changed which drivers get loaded for certain SATA controllers (in particular the ICH7 / ICH9 / ICH10 models). This has been done to fix a problem that prevented host CD-ROMs from being used within a VM. However, in some cases after upgrading a user might find the below error after rebooting for the first time after the firmware upgrade has been installed: The VMware ESX Server does not have persistent storage. As shown in the below image, the ICH9 controller is now recognized as an IDE controller after updating to Update 4 instead of a SATA controller as was the case with ESXi 3.5 Update 3. The Enhanced vmxnet adapter was already available in ESX 3.5 (see KB1001805). The support for this adapter is a lot better since Update 4 is released. Now you can also add the Enhanced vmxnet adapter to a Windows Server 2003 VM, without the workaround mentioned in KB1007195.

Some info about the Enhanced vmxnet from KB1001805:

Enhanced vmxnet — The enhanced vmxnet adapter is based on the vmxnet adapter but provides some high-performance features commonly used on modern networks, such as jumbo frames. This virtual network adapter is the current state-of-the-art device in virtual network adapter performance, but it is available only for some guest operating systems on ESX Server 3.5. This network adapter will become available for additional guest operating systems in the future.
Enhanced VMXNET is supported only for a limited set of guest operating systems:

• 32/64-bit versions of Microsoft Windows 2003 (Enterprise and Datacenter Editions). You can use enhanced vmxnet adapters with other versions of the Microsoft Windows 2003 operating system, but a workaround is required to enable the option in the VI Client. See http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1007195. Since Update 4, you can add the Enhanced vmxnet via the VIC.
• 32/64-bit versions Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.0
• 32/64-bit versions SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10

Migrating virtual machines that use enhanced vmxnet. Enhanced vmxnet is new with ESX Server 3.5. Virtual machines configured to have enhanced vmxnet adapters cannot migrate to older ESX Server hosts, even though virtual machines can usually migrate freely between ESX Server 3.0 and ESX Server 3.0.1.

If you must migrate a virtual machine between newer and older hosts,don’t choose enhanced vmxnet but instead one of the older adapter types. Flexible or e1000 are offered whenever enhanced vmxnet is offered.

Sabotage.B. Virus berukuran sekitar 188KB ini menggunakan icon mirip folder dalam penyebarannya. Virus lokal yang satu dibuat menggunakan Delphi. Saat menginfeksi, pada drive C akan ada file LO6.txt, sabotage.exe, dan SABOTAGE.TXT. Saat Anda klik-kanan pada folder, juga akan muncul menu dengan nama “scan for virus” yang jika di-klik akan menjalankan file virus. Ia juga akan membuat file virus yang meniru sebagai folder. Lalu, sama seperti virus lainnya, Task Manager, Folder Options, dan Regedit tidak dapat diakses.

GAH!

What a long week! Seriously… I do not think it could have been any longer… and it is only Thursday! I had three finals already this week and I am about to explode. The Wings are finally playing again after taking over a week off after destroying the Avs. Commando Updates are getting crazy!

I’ll start with the Commando happenings…

Basically everything in the profession is being updated and changed. The Expertise is basically brand new. There are going to be a lot of surprised people that do not use the forums once this hits live… I plan on sending out over 1000 in-game emails to everyone to give them a heads up, but I still won’t be able to reach everyone.

The changes I like the most are Stand Fast being added, DOT Changes, and the Heavy Weapon Abilities being added.

Stand Fast looks awesome! It’s a great ability to hit when you are in need of some time to let the heals cooldown and get out of trouble. I will be looking at a 95% Damage reduction for 18 seconds. That will take a 20k attack down to 1000 damage. Not bad at all.

The DOT changes have my interest as they are still unknown. I love that we can stack 1 DOT type heavy instead of having to cycle weapons just to get our DPS. I know most of the information on this is not public yet but I look forward to playing with everything to be sure it’s all working how we want it to on TC sometime soon…

Heavy Weapon abilities… FINALLY! These abilities sound awesome and I’m happy that the need to swap weapons for abilities is no longer required. I’m very anxious to play with everything being given here, so much of it looks amazing, I want everything, and I’ve not felt that way about our current expertise…

There are so many changes that I like, such as Devastation, Suppressing Fire, Mirror Armor, Kill Meter… Uggh! Too many!

I’m taking a lot of heat from the community on some of the changes, such as the DOTs and Riddle Armor, but I’m hoping that I can properly attack these changes once I know more about them and see them for myself. I’m not going to raise an army against the devs because of these changes when we don’t have enough information to really know what’s going on. I know some out there expect me to be more aggressive in my stance about changes, but that’s not me, not how I’ll ever be, so if you have a problem, confront me, or nominate someone else for the commando seat. I have a much easier time talking to the devs when I can be calm, collective, and describe my thoughts and concerns in a constructive neutral way. Flame bashing gets no where, unless we were Jedi

Riddle Armor Changes.

There are changes being made to Riddle Armor. Currently, 1 point in RA gives you a single target attack to reduce that target’s armor value by 1000. You can then spend 4 points in the next box to increase the reduction by 500 per point, for a grand total of 3000 points of reduction.

The changes that are pending is a 3 point initial Riddle Armor box for 1000 points of reduction each to a single target. The next box enables a new ability called Armor Shredder that will enable Riddle Armor to now be used as an AOE attack to anything 10m around your target.

Just a few things as I’m a bit busy today:

• Heavy Weapon DOTs are to be changed to take away the need to swap between a bunch of weapons to get our DPS
• New HW abilities are being added so HW focused Commandos can have some more viability
• Riddle Armor is going to be changed to 3 points for 3000 Armor Debuff and a 4th point to to apply a 10m radius AOE armor break, VERY cool
• New Commando Heavy Weapon is in the works, It is known to be a COLD HW based off of the flamethrower model
• LOS is going to be taken care of by the Programmers
• Swede and Blixtev have been working together for this Update

I received word from Swede that he will be the Dev in charge of the Commando Update. There is not much information I can rely at this time but I am very excited about the next couple weeks!
