Det är rätt konstigt egentligen. I Sverige forskas det en hel del om invandring, migration, minoriteter och mångkultur, men det rapporteras rätt lite om forskningen med tanke på hur ofta invandringen är på tapeten. (Tack vare SD. Frågar man svenskarna brukar invandringen hamna relativt lågt ner på priolistan efter sådan som vård, skola och omsorg). 

Både i Sverige och internationellt har man upptäckt att invandrare ofta hamnar längst ner i hierarkin klassmässigt när de kommer till ett land för att sedan klassvandra. Till detta bidrar sådant som brist på kontakter, pengar, kunskap om hur man navigerar sig fram till toppen och så vidare. Har man ont om resurser söker man sig dit där det finns låga hyror, dvs ofta miljonprogram, osv.

Ju längre gruppen sedan befinner sig i landet och etablerar sig, klättrar uppåt, får representanter synliga i positiva sammanhang och på inflytelserika positioner, desto mer slutar folk att med fördomar stämpla gruppen kollektivt. Fördomarna faller i glömska och nya, färskare grupper tar de äldres plats.

Varför rapporterar inte journalister om detta? Är det helt enkelt på grund av bristande bildning, att man innerst inne tror att Jimmie Åkesson har rätt för att man är för dåligt påläst? Relativt få medier exponerade de många faktafelen i Jimmie Åkessons omdiskuterade debattartikel. TT var först. Sedan SvD. Aftonbladet tog ett dygn längre på sig att reagera. De hade artikeln en dag före alla andra men tog bara in drösvis med åsikter och analyser om SD:s skändlighet, istället för att visa hur argumenten är lögner.

Aftonbladets hantering av rubriken, där man satte en citatrubrik trots att inte citatet inte fanns i texten, gav Jimmie Åkesson ursäkten att få skriva ännu en artikel med ännu fler lögner på Newsmill, där rasisterna frodas att döma av kommentarerna.

Vilka fel? Tjaa att muslimerna i Sverige för 25-30 år sedan var något tusental individer och att vi idag har en halv miljon troende muslimer i Sverige. Det går inte att få ihop den siffran hur man än räknar. Om vi tar STT:s siffror så är det 100.000 svenskar som vid något tillfälle under ett år överhuvudtaget kommer i kontakt med en moské (och då räknas bröllop, begravningar med mera in).

Och för 25 år sedan, (det vill säga 1984)? Då rasade det libanesiska inbördeskriget för fullt, liksom flyktingarna därifrån, unga män som vapenvägrade varav en del hamnade i Sverige. Även kriget mellan Irak och Iran hade varit igång i flera år och vapenvägrarna från båda sidor fick sällskap i Sverige av politiska flyktingar, varav många kommunister, som flydde mullaväldet i Iran.

Men redan på 60-talet, det vill säga sisådär 40 år sedan, kom den stora toppen av turkar, även de muslimer, som arbetskraftsinvandrade till bland annat industrin, tillsammans med jugoslaver varav en del bosniakiska muslimer, samt araber från Marocko, Libanon, Syrien, Egypten, Palestina…

För 25 år sedan var muslimerna alltså redan långt fler än “något tusental”. Jimmie Åkesson ljuger helt enkelt. Antingen av okunskap eller obildning. Frågan är varför han får göra det så obehindrat. Just med Aftonbladet-artikeln kom en mycket ovanlig faktagranskning. Kanske berodde den på att allt fanns i tryck och det var överskådligt. För det är inte första gången Jimmie Åkesson säger de sakerna.

Gustav Fridolin har välförtjänt fått mycket uppmärksamhet för sin dokumentärserie “Vår mörka historia” i TV4, där han gör ett försök att påminna om hur historien upprepar sig. Det samma gör Doreen Månsson och Musse Hasselvall i UR:s “Välkomna nästan allihopa” som inleddes med programmet “När förlät vi Bert Karlsson?”. (Bert slog fast att alla tidningscitat var felaktiga, även det där han ska ha sagt att finnar kommer hit för att leva på bidrag).

I det senaste avsnittet intervjuar Gustav Fridolin en etnicitetsforskare som slår fast att på samma sätt som man pratar om somalier idag, pratade man i mitten av seklet talade om greker och italienare, och före det judar. Det vill säga som svårintegrerbara eftersom de har “en annan kultur och en annan religion”. Den som försökte kläcka ur sig något sådant idag till exempelvis Paolo Roberto eller Augustprisnominerade Aris Fioretos skulle bli gjord till åtlöje.

Tidningarna hade under andra världskriget rubriker såsom “Flyktinginvasionen ökas” innan Sverige stängde gränserna för de judar som försökte fly Auschwitz.

Sveriges första utlänningslag kom till för att hindra judisk invandring. “Värdet av att vårt lands befolkning är av en sällsynt enhetlig, oblandad ras kan knappast överskattas”, läser Gustav Fridolin ur arkiven.

Someone discovered I had a way with HTML and recommended me to Professor McFarland who wanted his summer program site* redesigned. When I found it, it was a frame maze full of broken and recursive links. I whipped up a design based on the original splash image* and then spent a long time porting everything over into clean HTML and CSS.

Swego czasu Diablo II było najbardziej oczekiwaną grą w środowisku światowych graczy. To nie był rodzaj oczekiwania na zasadzie:  “och, już za chwilę nowy diabeł, nie mogę się doczekać  (westchnął Stefan)”, ale prawdziwy kocioł rozmów, emocji, rozpraw, zaszlachtowanych baranów i wypieków na twarzy. Nim jednak drugie Diablo ujrzało światło dzienne, rzeczone oczekiwanie na tę pozycję okazało się niezwykle płodne, bo pomiędzy pierwszą, a drugą częścią kultowego tytułu Blizzarda na rynku pojawiło się kilka świetnych action RPG-ów stworzonych wyraźnie “na duszy” Diablo. Jednym z nich był Revenant.

Zagubiona tożsamość

Historia tego hack’n’slasha z 1999 roku jest mroczna.

Nasz bohater powinien w ciszy obgryzać chryzantemy od spodu, a tymczasem odradza się jako Locke D’Averam (zresztą jego nowe nazwisko pochodzi od miejsca, w którym zmartwychwstał, a prawdziwa tożsamość pozostaje wielką niewiadomą). Ten średniowieczny heros został wezwany z piekła (w grze występujące pod nazwą Anserak) przez Sardoka, prawą rękę Lorda Tendricka panującego w mieście Misthaven, osadzonym na wyspie Ahkuilon.

Oczywiście nie bez przyczyny zakłócono sen tytułowego Revenanta. Lord Tendrick uciekł się do tej ryzykownej metody, bo w średniowiecznym rzemiośle widział jedyną szansę na ocalenie dziedziczki tronu Andrii, uprowadzonej przez psychopatyczną sektę znaną jako Dzieci Przemiany z tajemniczym Yhagro na czele.

Tyle, że Sardrok i Tendrick nie przypuszczali iż sprowadzony przez nich bohater jest… byłym obywatelem Ahkuilon, miejsca wielkich bitew bogów, magów i wojowników, wcześniej znanym jako mityczne Ur.

Historia się zapętli gdy Locke D’Averam zorientuje się w końcu, że jest byłym królem starożytnego państwa położonego na wyspie Tendricka. Tyle, że królem dość pechowym, bo nierozważnie zawierając pakt z demonem miał oddać duszę swojej żony, czego uczynić nie mógł. Tym samym demon zesłał Locke’a do Anserak na wiecznie potępienie, a przy okazji zrównał z ziemią całe państwo.

Oczywiście na tym całe wprowadzenie do fabuły się na kończy. Wszak w odpowiednim czasie okaże się, że prężnie działający na odbudowanym Ahkuilon Dzieci Przemiany, mają wiele wspólnego z demonem, który zrujnował Revenantowi życie…

Vendetta

Revenant to ekszyn RPG jak się patrzy!

Świadczą o tym choćby suche statystyki bowiem nasz potępiony heros będzie miał do dyspozycji m.in. 55 rodzajów broni, 50  typów czarów, 150 rodzajów pancerzu i bogatą ścieżkę rozwoju. Na swojej długiej drodze spotka 50-ciu  różnych wrogów (w tym czterech unikatowych bossów) oraz 30 bardzo rozbudowanych, niezależnych postaci.

Warto zwrócić uwagę na interakcję z otoczeniem. Locke D’Averam przeprowadzi wiele dialogów, które zaowocują gromadzeniem coraz to nowych informacji dotyczących porwania córki Tendricka, a przy tym stopniowego odkrywania tajemnicy własnej egzystencji.

Jądrem naszej wędrówki jest Misthaven. Revenant będzie mógł tam solidnie wyposażyć się u handlarzy, którzy oferują liczne fatałaszki, zbroje, broń i innego rodzaju akcesoria. Obowiązkowe wręcz wydaje się też zaliczenie szkolenia u starego sensei rodem z Kill Bill’a, który z chęcią pokaże nam jak używać combosów w walce.

Znamienna dla Revenanta jest bogata ścieżka rozwoju bohatera. Otóż Locke D’Averam z czasem odkrywający swoje wojowniczo-magiczne zacięcie, będzie po każdym pokonanym potworku gromadził odpowiednie punkty, których określona ilość doprowadzi do wzrostu wtajemniczenia (zazwyczaj przy takim wydarzeniu gracz będzie miał do dyspozycji ulepszenie dwóch spośród sześciu unikalnych cech).

Nasz bohater zwiedzi sporą liczbę lokacji, ale dzięki sprawnemu systemowi transportu vide Diablo II będzie mógł z powodzeniem przenieść się do małomiasteczkowego klimatu.

Dwadzieścia pięć mgnień światła

Grafika Revenanta jest szczegółowa i dopracowana, ale jej najciekawszym elementem jest zmienne otoczenie. Twórcy Revenanta wpadli na taki pomysł by naszemu bohaterowi stale towarzyszył cykl dnia i nocy, zatem Locke D’Averam stał się jednym z pierwszych bohaterów RPG, któremu dane było ujrzeć zarówno wschód jak i zachód słońca. Przyznać trzeba, że bardzo tu uprzyjemnia mroczną rozgrywkę.

Na jej niekorzyść nie wpływają też płynne animacje, zarówno w walce jak i w czarach.

Za atmosferę muzyczną odpowiada grupa Xymox. Co prawda nie znam za bardzo jej suwerennej twórczości, ale świetnie wkomponowująca się muzyka do naszej wędrówki, perfekcyjnie podkreśla ogólny klimat gry. Zresztą dobrze wypadają też efekty dźwiękowe: w rozmowach i walkach czy przy rzucaniu czarów.

Pozorne zastrzeżenia budzi system sterowania bowiem w grze poruszamy się głównie… za pomocą klawiatury (myszka znajduje zastosowanie tylko przy dysponowaniu inwentarzem). Stanowi to, szczególnie podczas walki,  spore utrudnienie dla fanów typowych h’n’s uwielbiających maltretować myszkę . Niemniej bez obaw. Jeśli uda przełamać się to przyzwyczajenie to gracze będą wniebowzięci, bo system walki w Revenancie jest naprawdę ciekawie skonstruowany (właściwie indywidualnie do każdej walki).

Całość w rzeczywistości wychodzi na duży plus. Revenant stał się nie tylko kolejnym przystankiem w oczekiwaniu na Diablo II, ale i w pełni suwerennym, gromadzących fanów, produktem.

Legenda.

Musisz sięgnąć jeśli… jesteś zapalonym fanem action RPG, a przy tym potrafisz sobie wyobrazić życie bez klikania myszki .

Jeg har lige haft fødselsdag, og jeg blev vækket med morgenmad på sengen af min smukke koner og tre dejlige børn. De havde alle rigtig fine gaver til mig, Jesper havde købt mig en bog, mens tvillingerne havde tegnet tegninger. Men den bedste gave var fra konen, som forærede mig et Skagen ur, som jeg længe havde ønsket mig, men ikke drømt om jeg skulle på pga. prisen. Skagen uret er rigtig flot, og Skagen ure har jo et ry for, at være af rigtig god kvalitet, så jeg tror dette ur vil følge mig rigtig længe!

Skagen ure er af super kvalitet og de er fremstillet af holdbart materiale. Endvidere er Skagen ure proppet med masse af forskellige funktioner som krognograf, datofunktion og høj vandtæthed, som gør det en fornøjelse, at lære uret bedre at kende.

Lyder det som er reklame?

Nej, jeg er bare RIGTIG glad for mit nye Skagen ur!

Siden der vildt fede sommerfest jeg skrev om sidst, er der sket meget godt i mit liv. Drengen, som jeg mødte til sommerfesten, er nu min kærester, så det er bare rigtig dejligt Stadig taknemmelig over at Trissa holdte den sommerfest! Til min fødselsdag gav min søde kæreste, Dennis, mig et smukt dameur fra Skagen ur. Jeg troede egentlig at Skagen ure var mere for gamle damer, men efter jeg selv har fået et Skagen ur, har jeg lagt mærke til, at der faktisk er mange unge piger, der gå med dameure fra Skagen ure. Jeg er i hvert fald vildt glad for mit smukke dameur

Mit ellers så gode Skagen ur gik pludselig i stå en dag, og ville ikke starte igen, selvom jeg fik batteriet skiftet. Jeg troede at pengene var tabt, men da jeg ringede til Skagen ure, beklagede de mange gange, og sagde, at de ville sende mit et nyt Skagen ur magen til det gamle. Generelt var jeg meget positivt overrasket over kundeservicen hos Skagen ure, så det kan man vel kalde held i uheld!

Skagen ure, og andre dameure af god kvalitet, er normalt en dyr fornøjelse. Men noget helt andet er når man som studerende på SU falder for et smukt Skagen ur. For så er det ikke bare dyrt, men VANVITTIGT dyrt. Men som man siger er kærligheden jo ikke til at styre, så jeg har lige brugt hele mit julegavebudget på et super lækkert dameur fra Skagen ure. Håber familien forstår

Fødselsdagen dagen blev et kæmpe hit, jeg fik leget de perfekte festlokaler, og festen varede til første0 morgentog gik hjem kl. 6.30 om morgenen Så festlokalerne på denne side: http://festklar.dk/festlokaler.html kan virkelig anbefales! Uover festen for vennerne (den, som blev holdt i festlokalerne) var jeg også hjemme ved mor og blive fejret af familien, og jeg må sige, de famle var gavmilde i år. Jeg fik et rigtig fedt Skagen ur af dem og mine søskende. Skagen uret er med læderrem og vandtæt til 10 atm, hvilket jeg har hørt skulle være rigtig godt, men man forventer jo også bare det bedste når man hører navnet “Skagen ure”… Så tak til jer alle !

Det er nu laaang tid siden jeg startede med at ønske mig et Skagen ur, men da ønsket stadig ikke er opfyldt, er det nu nr. 1 på ønskelisten! Heldigvis er det snart jul, og inden det har jeg fødselsdag d. 15 december, så der skulle være chance for, at der skulle falde et Skagen ur af det er det gode ved at have fødselsdag så tæt på jul, dobbelt chance for Skagen ur!

Til min fødselsdag for kort tid siden, forærede pigen i mit liv mig det herreur, som skulle bliver “herreuret” i mit liv. Det er et vildt flot herreur fra Skagen Ure, med kronograf og datoangivning. Jeg troede ellers ikke Skagen ure var noget for mig, men jeg må siges at være faldet for dette Skagen ur. Så jeg siger mange tak til pigen i mit liv, som dog stadig har 1. pladsen

Today’s Reading: Genesis 12-15

This military standard is from the ruins of the royal tombs at Ur of the Chaldees in ancient Mesopotamia. The standard is about 4500 years old and one of the earliest representations of an ancient Sumerian army. It has two sides, one depicting war and the other depicting peace. The ‘War’ panel shows chariots, each pulled by donkeys, which would trample enemies; infantry with cloaks carrying spears; enemy soldiers being killed with axes, while others are paraded naked and presented to the king who holds a spear. The ‘Peace’ panel depicts animals, fish and other goods brought in procession to a banquet. Seated figures, wearing woolen fleeces or fringed skirts, drink to the accompaniment of a musician playing a lyre.

Now the LORD had said to Abram:
“Get out of your country,
From your family
And from your father’s house,
To a land that I will show you.
I will make you a great nation;
I will bless you
And make your name great;
And you shall be a blessing.
I will bless those who bless you,
And I will curse him who curses you;
And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”
~ Gen. 12:1-3

God wanted Abram to demonstrate his faith and his obedience by leaving the polytheistic environment at Ur.  He reminded Abram of his intention to bless those who follow Him, and to empower those believers to be a blessing to others.

And the LORD said to Abram, after Lot had separated from him: “Lift your eyes now and look from the place where you are—northward, southward, eastward, and westward; for all the land which you see I give to you and your descendants forever. And I will make your descendants as the dust of the earth; so that if a man could number the dust of the earth, then your descendants also could be numbered. Arise, walk in the land through its length and its width, for I give it to you.” Then Abram moved his tent, and went and dwelt by the terebinth trees of Mamre, which are in Hebron, and built an altar there to the LORD. ~ Gen. 13:14-18

God’s promise is sure, but it’s a very futuristic promise. Abram won’t see this come true in his lifetime!

Now when Abram heard that his brother was taken captive, he armed his three hundred and eighteen trained servants who were born in his own house, and went in pursuit as far as Dan. ~ Gen. 14:14

Interesting how quickly we went from all people being descended from Noah’s sons to nations with different languages, and now we see master and servant relationships. Didn’t these people realize they were all distant cousins?  Hey — doesn’t this mean that WE are all distant cousins?  Hmmmm.

Then Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine; he was the priest of God Most High. And he blessed him and said,

“ Blessed be Abram of God Most High,
Possessor of heaven and earth;
And blessed be God Most High,
Who has delivered your enemies into your hand.”
And he gave him a tithe of all. ~ Gen. 14:18-20

In the passage preceding this one we find that things have escalated to the point that the different kings are battling one another, so Abram goes out and whoops ‘em all. Afterward, he has a little celebration with Melchizedek, the king of Salem (now called Jerusalem) and priest of God Most High. Interesting titles — who was this guy, really?  I wonder if the bread and wine were significant?  Also, notice how Abram gave a tithe (tenth) of all he had to the Lord by giving that offering to his representative on Earth.  

After these things the word of the LORD came to Abram in a vision, saying, “Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your exceedingly great reward.”

But Abram said, “Lord GOD, what will You give me, seeing I go childless, and the heir of my house is Eliezer of Damascus?”

Then Abram said, “Look, You have given me no offspring; indeed one born in my house is my heir!”

And behold, the word of the LORD came to him, saying, “This one shall not be your heir, but one who will come from your own body shall be your heir.”

Then He brought him outside and said, “Look now toward heaven, and count the stars if you are able to number them.” And He said to him, “So shall your descendants be.”

And he believed in the LORD, and He accounted it to him for righteousness. ~ Gen. 15:1-6

Abram was so confident in his fellowship with the Lord that when God told him, I am your “exceedingly great reward” (and what more could you ask for), Abram expressed his personal concerns!  He wanted to know where the child of promise was. Who would be the “appointed seed” in this generation? With God’s reassurance, Abram believed in what he could not see, and this gave him a righteous standing before God. Bible scholars call this “imputation” and it is found ONLY in Christianity. In no other religion is “grace… through faith” (Ephesians 2:8) the only way to attain righteousness before a holy God.

Now when the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram; and behold, horror and great darkness fell upon him.

Then He said to Abram: “Know certainly that your descendants will be strangers in a land that is not theirs, and will serve them, and they will afflict them four hundred years. And also the nation whom they serve I will judge; afterward they shall come out with great possessions.

Now as for you, you shall go to your fathers in peace; you shall be buried at a good old age. But in the fourth generation they shall return here, for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet complete.”

On the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying: “To your descendants I have given this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the River Euphrates— the Kenites, the Kenezzites, the Kadmonites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Rephaim, the Amorites, the Canaanites, the Girgashites, and the Jebusites.” ~ Gen. 15:12-16, 18-19

Abram had a dream that filled his spirit with “horror and great darkness”. How terrifying to learn that your descendants will become slaves for 400 years! 

But God has His reasons for this painful interval in Hebrew history — He intends for His people to know firsthand what it is like to be humble and rejected, so that they will have learn to have compassion on those who are oppressed and weak. Furthermore, He assures Abram that the story will end well, both for his descendants and for him personally, and he seals it with a covenant, giving the Hebrews possession of all the land from the the modern Wady el`Avish (60 miles south of Beersheba) to the Euphrates River!

I did some research to try to find out something I’ve never really understood — who the Palestinians are, and what is the basis for their claim on this area of land. Essentially, they claim to be descendants from the original Canaanites that inhabited the land before the Jews returned from slavery in Egypt.

The “promised land” has been conquered over the years by a wide range of peoples, including the Israelites, Philistines, Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, the Greeks under Alexander the Great, Romans and Byzantines, Arabs, Ottoman Turks, and the British.

After WW2, Israel held out against Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan and Syria, becoming a nation in 1948; however, the Gaza Strip was left under Egyptian control, and the west bank remained in Jordan’s possession.

Fighting continued between Egypt, refugee Arabs in the countries surrounding Israel, and the Jews until 1967 when Israel took hold of the Gaza Strip, Sinai Peninsula, Arab East Jerusalem, West Bank, and Golan Heights.

The Palestinian Liberation Army had been established by refugee Arab Muslims in 1965, and following Israel’s victory, they continued to attack Jewish territory in attempts to “redeem Palestine”. In spite of a series of peace summits, unrest and violence continue in Israel to this day.

But according to God’s promise, all the land between the Nile and the Euphrates belongs to Israel.  And more important still, Jesus loves and died for the redemption of both the Israelites and the Palestinians.
