This park will always stay with me, but not for the reasons you think!

For the first time ever (and I hope it won’t ever happen again), I purchased tickets for the WRONG game! I couldn’t figure out why people on the streets were wearing Rangers gear, when I thought that the White Sox were playing the Royals! Until I looked at the tickets did I realize what I had done. At first the people at the ticket booth were helpful, and then they turned rather sour. The game was FAR from sold out, so when I got to the ticket office, I pleaded my case to the nice ticket supervisor who I think, out of pity, swapped me for comparable seats, though, not as good as I would have had the previous week. Disaster averted!

Lareina and arrived with luggage in tow as we would have to leave for the park directly to the Midway after the game, but were able to source a place to leave our bags during the game! The park is not really located near anything other than a freeway. It has a great exterior and a “newish” feel, but it lacked the charm of Wrigley and Wrigleyville…obviously. I didn’t have delusions that it would compare – how could they? But, to be fair, this was on par with the “class” of newer parks that sprouted up. I imagine that, at some point, you simply run out of things you can add to a baseball park design, and this one reminded me of other parks that I had visited. I would have liked it to be more centrally located, but given that the train drops you RIGHT across the street, I really couldn’t complain!

We made it to Midway and separated at the gates.

We came, we saw, we ate and we cheered…and that’s how we roll!
