How do chakras affect my love and abundance?

Chakras are our energy centers that affect directly influence everything from our financial security, our sex life and self esteem to how we give and receive love, express ourselves and practice spirituality.

Thankfully there are many ways, from yoga and meditation to mind-body techniques, that we can use to help balance our chakras. In CHAKRA SECRETS, I share a “secret” Hawaiian mind-body technique that you can use anytime, anywhere, to instantly relieve pain and other problems, and strengthen your chakras — making you the best you can be.

How do you know if your chakras are in balance?

For example, if you are feeling insecure, it’s hard to have a good foundation for a relationship or profitable career, so you’ll want to strengthen your first or Root Chakra. If you feel needy, crave touch and sex and want to feel more passionate and creative, you should work on unblocking your second or Sacral Chakra.

All seven of the chakras have an impact on our lives. In CHAKRA SECRETS, I show how each of my chakras was blocked and share how I was able to move forward through chakra healing techniques that anyone can use to find love and happiness.

BALANCE YOUR CHAKRAS, BALANCE YOUR LIFE!

I hope you read and enjoy CHAKRA SECRETS. Download your FREE copy on Thursday or Friday, September 20-21, at http://amzn.to/RgxgS3.

I’ve been traveling the last month and proofing the final manuscript of Chakra Secrets (now available on Kindle), the sequel to my first book, The Chakra Diaries. Thank goodness, I put in some inspirational quotes at the beginning of each chapter, so I didn’t mind reading and proofing over and over again until I was sure I caught every typo.

I also started a few other fabulous books that I’ll be reviewing in the weeks ahead… including How to Lose your Mind in No Time, Gemstone Power! and The Inner Path, if you want to check them out on Amazon for some inspirational weekend reading.

So what quotes were intriguing enough for me to include them in my new book? And to keep me interested in skimming through it again and again? See which ones speak to you and let me know which get you thinking:

“As you start to walk out on the way, the way appears.” ~ Rumi

“Praise and blame, gain and loss, pleasure and sorrow come and go like the wind. To be happy, rest like a giant tree, in the midst of them all” ~ The Buddha

“Let’s not forget that the little emotions are the great captains of our lives and we obey them without realizing it.” ~ Vincent Van Gogh

“Life is the sum of all your choices.” ~ Albert Camus

“Never apologize for showing feeling. When you do so, you apologize for the truth.” ~ Benjamin Disraeli

“A photographer gets people to pose for him. A yoga instructor gets people to pose for themselves.” ~ Terry Guillemets

“I am not afraid of storms for I am learning how to sail my ship.” ~ Louisa May Alcott

“Forget not that I shall come back to you…” ~ Kahlil Gibran

“My life often seemed to me like a story that has no beginning and no end. I could well imagine that I might have lived in former centuries…that I had been born again because I had not fulfilled the task given to me.” ~ Carl Jung

“Make the most of yourself, for that is all there is of you.” ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

“If everyone you meet is a mirror reflecting you back to yourself, make sure to find a way to love what you see.” ~ Don Miguel Ruiz

“If you want OTHERS to be happy, practice compassion. If YOU want to be happy, practice compassion.” The Dalai Lama

“Love is, above all, the gift of oneself.” ~ Jean Anouilh

“We are all visitors to this time, this place. We are just passing through. Our purpose here is to observe, to learn, to grow, to love…and then we return home.” ~ Aboriginal Proverb

“It isn’t what you did in the past that will affect the present. It’s what you do in the present that will redeem the past and thereby change the future.” ~ Paulo Coelho

“Everything comes to us that belongs to us if we create the capacity to receive it” ~ Rabindranath Tagore

“The past is over and done with…fill your mind with awareness of the beauty and goodness in the present.” ~ Serge Kahili King, Ph.D.

While Chakra Secrets is obviously about how chakra balancing changed my life and can change yours, it also contains grains of wisdom I have picked up from many different sources, just like these quotes represent many different life teachings and philosophies. But, in the end, it’s all about choosing happiness. That may sound easy, and it is, once you know the key – which, of course, I offer you at the end of the book.

You can get your Kindle version of Chakra Secrets today!

On September 12, we’ll celebrate the launch of the book with ten lucky winners receiving: Signed, first-edition copies of Chakra Secrets plus Crystal Chakra jewelry, pendulums and more surprises!
Do you want to spice up your sex life or feel more passionate, graceful and creative? Unblocking your Sacral or 2nd Chakra may be the key. It is an especially important chakra for women to keep in balance, connecting you to your passion and to the Divine Feminine.

There are seven major chakras in our energy field that each affect our emotional and physical health in a different way. Two characters in The Chakra Diaries have unbalanced Sacral Chakras – one, a woman in her forties, Deborah has lost her libido, the other, Sarah, a young woman, is both unsure of her sexual orientation and promiscuous. Chakra balancing brings them back to a space of confidence and creativity where they are better able to trust their feminine intuition and make true love connections.

Here’s a short excerpt from Deborah’s diary, in which her libido comes alive:

Alright, I was frustrated with the new software package and didn’t want to buzz my assistant again for help. So I retreated to my emails. There it was. The type should have been in bright orange…

“Bon Jour, Blonde Goddess” read the subject line. Delete or open, that was the decision at my fingertips. Liking “goddess” rather than “dried up old crone,” I decided to open, hoping it wasn’t another offer for penile enlargement drugs at a discount.

The text didn’t disappoint. It described how the sender, whose return address was TantricOne, had dreamt of me the night before and had awoken in a tangle of sweaty sheets, his body having made a promise that his mind must fulfill. He knew how to write a love scene, describing in luscious detail how he had started kissing the tip of my perfect nose, pausing for the briefest caress at my full, sensuous lips down the slope of my silky white throat, into that heart throb of deep cleavage awaiting him between my bountiful breasts, skating the circle of creation that formed my navel, then tracing the contours of each heavenly hip bone before licking the smooth-downed valley of my stomach…. and then, he woke up.

OK, that was me paraphrasing a two-page dreamscape from a master writer. Me, the owner of the dead second chakra, now had small drops of sweat pooling in my deep cleavage, tingles in the area below my smooth, flat stomach, and a shortness of breath that could only mean I was turned on or having my first hot flash.

My assistant came in, looking over my shoulder in her nosy way, to remind me of my 10 am meeting, and I pressed “delete” before her eyes could focus on the sultry text on the screen.

Located at the lower abdomen, right at the cervix, the Sacral Chakra governs how we relate to others and the flow of our feelings and expression in art, music, dance and living. It is the seat of our sexuality, the pleasure chakra that turns us on and is considered by many to be the doorway into creation itself.

When this chakra is balanced, you can embrace creativity with open arms, whether it is expressed through dance, yoga, swimming, sex, singing praises to the Divine, painting to celebrate self-awareness, or cooking for your inner goddess.

“I am able to hear and express the voice of my soul.” As you have balanced your lower four chakras,

“I am able to hear and express the voice of my soul.”
As you have balanced your lower four chakras, you have come to know who you are, how to interact with others, feel confidence, and love. Now, when you balance the throat, or fifth chakra, you are able to communicate your truth. Put your glorious self out for the world to hear your creative self-expression.

The Throat Chakra is associated with communication, the ability to speak honestly, to receive and process information, to know and speak our inner truth. It is the center of transformation and change.

Signs of an unbalanced Throat Chakra are an inability to express yourself, feeling stagnated, and holding on to unexpressed emotions. This can lead to frustration, inability to find the right words or even excessive talking, shyness, sore throat, stiff neck, and addictions like smoking.

When the Throat Chakra is balanced, we feel creatively inspired and able to express ourselves well. We have confidence in our beliefs and the self-confidence to share them, and the capacity to listen to others and truly hear them as well.

YOGA POSES FOR THE THROAT CHAKRA
Add these poses to your yoga repertoire to open the throat chakra:
the Half Shoulder Stand, Shoulder Shrugs and Circles, and the Fish.

THE THROAT CHAKRA MEDITATION
The healing green light of the heart chakra moves up the spine to the throat, where it becomes a beautiful sky blue. Breathe in the blue light, then fill your lungs and let your throat open wide and sing whatever tone or note feels right… AAAH! You know what to say and what not to say, how to communicate well. Feel yourself singing out clear energy, loving notes, healing vibrations for yourself and the entire universe. Make yourself heard and listen well to the love that returns to you.

Tony, a character in The Chakra Diaries, is unable to connect with women – everything he says is taken the wrong way, until he balances his Throat Chakra. Learn more about his transformation, during our June sale of The Chakra Diaries both on Amazon.com and our direct-from-the publisher specials for international readers at http://www.TheChakras.org.

Going green this Earth Day can reap benefits for both you and the environment. Breathe in the beauti

Going green this Earth Day can reap benefits for both you and the environment. Breathe in the beautiful green of the Spring and balance your heart chakra. Once you are in touch with the love and compassion that is inside us all, be kind to yourself and the earth in these simple ways…

Eating organic, locally-grown food will reduce your exposure to pesticides and provide you with more nutrients in your fruits and vegetables (50 to 60% more antioxidants according to several research studies). While you’re saving your body from having to detox from toxic pesticides and unhealthy additives in your food, you’ll be eliminating the fuel spent on transporting fruits and vegetables and the waste of extra packaging. You’ll also be supporting sustainable agriculture in your area.

What you put on your body is as important as what you put in it, so opt for natural, fragrance-free personal care products. 95% of the chemicals used to make products “fragrant” are derived from scarce petroleum and are neurotoxins and endocrine disruptors. Fewer synthetic chemicals in your products equals fewer synthetic chemicals that can end up in our ecosystems.

A natural mineral sunscreen with a reflective barrier like zinc, in a non-petroleum base, is better for your skin and our ocean’s coral reefs. The CDC reported that 97% of Americans are contaminated with oxybenzone, a widely-used sunscreen chemical linked to allergies, hormone disruption, and cell damage that may actually increase the signs of aging. Even trace levels of sunscreen chemicals have been found to cause coral reef damage.

The use of chemicals to clean your home or workplace can be a source of indoor air pollution that is worse than any we experience outside. The commercial cleaners under the sink often contain concoctions of chemicals, many of which are toxic to our bodies and then to the environment once they’ve gone down the drain.

Dish and laundry cleaners are often detergents, not soaps, and are derived from petroleum, are non-biodegradable, and contain phosphates that pollute our groundwater and ocean. Safer choices are vinegar, baking soda, Borax and Bon Ami, or the latest chemical-free alternatives, like the Seventh Generation brand available at most natural food stores and supermarkets.

When doing your laundry, be aware that dryer sheets contain chloroform, camphor, ethylacetate and other hazardous ingredients. Instead, add a little baking soda to your wash water to soften and deodorize your clothes. Want a fresher-smelling bathroom, kitchen or car? Commercial air “fresheners” actually add to indoor air pollution, coating nasal passages with nerve-deadening agents and impairing our sense of smell. It makes more sense to open a window or turn on the fan or putout tropical flowers with a natural scent.

If you’re remodeling at home or work, avoid the fumes of volatile organic chemicals (VOCs) as they are toxic and flammable. Luckily, many stores now carry low-VOC paint and other remodeling materials that will cause fewer headaches, dizzy spells and respiratory problems for your family or business associates and fewer chemicals damaging the environment.

Here’s to a happy and healthy Earth Day!

Dear Becca, Like Deborah in your book, The Chakra Diaries, I feel dried up, my partner looks at ever

Dear Becca,
Like Deborah in your book, The Chakra Diaries, I feel dried up, my partner looks at every woman but me, what can I do?
In a Funk

Dear Friend,
You can go from funky to femme fatale with just a little balancing of your chakras. The second or sacral chakra governs our sexuality and passion. Let’s start with your passion for life in general – everyone is attracted to someone who flirts with life and glows with love for themselves as well as others. Do you judge the way you look unkindly? Look in the mirror and tell yourself how beautiful you are, just the way you are. And move through life letting that beauty emanate from you. The second chakra is about movement and flow. Go for a swim or dance around the house. Stand with your feet planted firmly on the ground as you listen to music you love and let Mother Earth’s energy fill you. Breathe it up from the center of the Earth. Embrace the feminine, celebrate it.

When your second chakra is balanced, breathe in the energy of the bright yellow sun to fill your personal power center, the third or solar plexus chakra. Radiate self-confidence out into the world. Don’t be jealous of others’ charms, compliment them. Once you feel filled with love and joy, believe me, your partner will want to tap into that. The more love you give out, the more you will receive.

For a more in-depth chakra balancing, listen to this free Chakra Meditation from The Chakra Diaries.
Namaste!

After reading my novel, The Chakra Diaries, many wonder which of their chakras may be out of balance

After reading my novel, The Chakra Diaries, many wonder which of their chakras may be out of balance. There’s a very good questionnaire at http://www.EclecticEnergies.com, that can give you an indication of which chakra/s could use strengthening.

You can also have someone test you with a pendulum – any object hung on a string or chain that is able to swing freely. It works by responding to micro-muscular movements of the fingers, which are themselves responding to a focused question that you ask about something… you can choose what meaning to give to the following kinds of responses, e.g., clockwise circle – open chakra; counter-clockwise circle – closed chakra. I have also experienced a perfectly still pendulum when a chakra is closed. There’s more info on how I use the pendulum in the prologue to The Chakra Diaries.

If you’re unsure which chakra to focus on, do a Chakra Meditation to balance all your chakras, starting at the root chakra, the base for all our security and balance in life. Try my guided visualization from The Chakra Diaries: Chakra Meditation.

You can also use colored crystals, rocks or gems in a simple Spectrum Chakra Balance, adapted from Crystal Healing by Simon and Sue Lilly, to reinforce your chakra energies and help them to return to normal functioning:

Choose a grounding stone (black, brown or dark red) to place between your feet. Then choose a stone or crystal corresponding to the different colors of the chakras, placing the red one between your knees, the orange right above your pelvic bone, the yellow right above your navel, the green over your heart center, the blue on your throat, indigo or dark blue on your forehead and a violet or clear stone on the floor just above the top of your head. Lie down with these stones in place for a period of about 5 minutes or until you feel complete, then remove the stones starting with the one above your head.

Relax for a few more minutes, still lying down, then enjoy a sense a well-being and balance, ready to face the stresses of the day ahead.

Namaste!

Becca, now that Valentine’s Day has come and gone and the aroma of the roses is a little tired and stale, how do I know that my current man is Mr. Right? He is such a mixed bag of my Wants in a man. He has a good job, not a great one, but says he wants to retire early and see the world. Brought up in foster homes, he is uncertain about wanting to have children although he loves to play with my sister’s baby. Although he exercises a lot, he eats for an army and his hair is still mostly thick, but thinning on his crown.

Should I commit to him heart and soul and hope that he won’t change, or date the handsome, tall, volleyball-playing guy in the office who makes my heart go pitter-patter when he throws me air kisses, comments on how sexy I look and invites me to a rooftop party? My office girlfriends say this luscious Lothario is more my type than Mr. Nice Guy but I wonder if they aren’t just taken in by his wry smile and broad chest that begs to be covered in hot kisses. I see him as a charming flirt who may have a hard time settling on where to eat for dinner, much less who will be dessert. Is a good man hard to find, like a parking place?

Dear Decision Time,

I have heard the saying, men are like parking places, they are either already taken or too far away. But, I believe the right one is out there for you. Real life is not like Sex in the City, the pieces of our lives falling into place and fitting together wonderfully despite our busload of blunders. As we all know, looks fade, yet attitudes, behaviors and beliefs don’t, so that our pick of a mate should be someone who we can grow old with and genuinely enjoy spending time together with.

So, when the final blush has faded and the rose petals dropped away, your mate-to-be may not be either Lothario or Mr. Nice Guy, they may only be love in training. Ask yourself whether you can accept the proverbial “good” with the “bad,” whether you feel deep down that you and your pick of the litter will treat each other with respect and honesty, allowing each other the room to grow. However DT, perhaps the greatest lesson to remember is that a loving relationship is NOT about what our partner is giving. We cannot receive what we have not already given, so be grateful, appreciative and loving about what your partner, or potential partner, brings to the table. Criticism, argument, blame, nagging and fault have no business being in the same county as a loving relationship as they will soon infect it and crush it to the ground. Bathe yourself in happiness and positive thoughts and happy people will flock to you, even Mr. Right.

Namaste! Becca

The permanent temptation of life is to confuse dreams with reality. The permanent defeat of life com

The permanent temptation of life is to confuse dreams with reality. The permanent defeat of life comes when dreams are surrendered to reality. ~ James Michener

Dreams bolster and enable our vision, imagination and insight, revealing that which has been hidden, out of focus or not understood. Just as Deborah, a wondrous character in The Chakra Diaries saw herself in a different light when an anonymous admirer wrote of her anointing his dreams and igniting his imagination, dreams can communicate to us from the inside out. Deborah was living almost entirely in the past, isolated from her spouse’s physical affections and questioning her self worth until her new friend’s verbiage and focus enabled her to reopen her heart to love and all of its many splendors.

Will Deborah end up in the arms of love? Will her husband realize his mistake at leaving her and beg for her in forgiveness? Will Deborah’s new friend enrich her life as she had hoped and dreamed?

Read the whole story in The Chakra Diaries to find out more about reigniting the sacral chakra, passion and love. Namaste!
