USMLE Step 1 Links I Keep

This is going to be the most important exam I would have to take if ever I plan to practice as a Physician in the United States. And so what I did is I compiled some of the best links I could get at this time.

Here are some of them.

1. Author of ‘USMLE Step 1 Made Ridiculously Simple’ Gives Tips

This link gives us a list of tips that one of the cool authors of Review Books I know of.

2. Medfriends.org keeps a list of core books essential for USMLE Step 1 study.

I find this a time saver.

3. Scrubnotes.com list of links is helpful.

4. Prepare for the Boards in 6 weeks.

Nice schedule and insights. I’m even following his advice.

5. Study Strategy abounds but here is a noteworthy one.

6. And lastly for now, 21+ Online Resource for the USMLE Step 1.

In the meantime, I always find that all of these sites recommend First Aid for the USMLE Step 1 2011 (First Aid USMLE)

So, I’ll start right there.

The Best Pharma Material for USMLE

Everybody hates Pharmacology. Nobody I know really says Pharma from the heart. Taking medications and sipping water is a bother, for one. What more is memorizing them one by one, side-effects and all.

Comes this set of flash cards called, Illustrated Pharmacology Memory Cards: PharMnemonics.

Each card has a picture to make you remember the drug, its actions, and its side-effects. You still have to read them repeatedly to have the knowledge ingrained but they do really help.

Pharma is still a challenge. But you have to be good in it, if you really want to become a Doctor of MEDICINE.

Time to Be a Doctor Again!

I graduated from my medicine class last 1999 and was conferred a license to practice around 2000. I became the Chief Resident of two big hospitals in Pampanga and then after that I found myself as a Nursing Review Professor.

This season, many things have happened and are happening that seem to point the way for me to reactivate my Medical Practice. I am going to review again. I am scheduled to move to the US in about a year or less and I’m preparing to take the USMLE to be able to practice there.

In the meantime, I’m going to be Nurse when I get there.

Tonight though, I am starting to gather materials so I can review for the USMLE.

This is a journal. I hope I could be successful.

The line between explanation and apology is somewhat thin, but I think I should make two comments:

You’ll note a little bit of “fun” spending this week. It’s also my way of ”voting” for art that I find excellent and want to see more of.
The plane tickets made up a big part of this week’s expenses. Ideally I would have purchased these much earlier, which would have made them much cheaper. However, I’ve been sorting out getting my “refund” from the University for my semester expenses, and I only recently got it sorted out. I’ll do my best to get it cleared earlier next time.
