WASHINGTON, D.C. (Press Release)–Prosecutors in the Office of Military Commissions announced

WASHINGTON, D.C. (Press Release)–Prosecutors in the Office of Military Commissions announced on Friday they intend to ask the convening authority to refer new charges under the recently-enacted Military Commissions Act of 2009 against Abd al-Rahim Hussein Muhammed Abdu al-Nashiri, in connection with the bombing of the USS Cole in the port of Aden, Yemen, in October 2000. The bombing resulted in the deaths of 17 sailors and injuries to many more.
This announcement follows the attorney general’s determination on Nov. 13, 2009, that a military commission was the proper forum for prosecution of al-Nashiri.

The prosecutors are reviewing this and other cases identified by the attorney general as appropriate for trial in a military commission and anticipate making further announcements soon.
As part of the process of moving forward with the prosecution of al-Nashiri, on Nov. 19, 2009, in response to a request from the prosecutors, the convening authority dismissed without prejudice the pending charges against al-Nashiri. This dismissal without prejudice is a procedural action permitting new charges to be referred at a later time.
A charge is merely an accusation; an accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

WASHINGTON, D.C. (Press Release)–Following is a transcript of a statement made Friday by Attor

WASHINGTON, D.C. (Press Release)–Following is a transcript of a statement made Friday by Attorney General Eric Holder in which he announced that the Justice Department planned to bring a number of suspects in the 9/11/2001 terror attacks to trial:

Good morning. Just over eight years ago, on a morning our nation will never forget, nineteen hijackers working with a network of Al Qaeda conspirators around the world launched the deadliest terrorist attacks our country has ever seen. Nearly 3,000 people lost their lives in those attacks, and in the years since, our nation has had no higher priority than bringing those who planned and plotted the attacks to justice.

One year before, in October 2000, a terrorist attack on the USS Cole killed seventeen American sailors.

Today we announce a step forward in bringing those we believe were responsible for the 9/11 attacks and the attack on the USS Cole to justice.

Five detainees at Guantanamo have been charged before military commissions with participation in the 9/11 plot: Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, Walid Muhammed Salih Mubarak Bin Attash, Ramzi Bin Al Shibh, Ali Abdul-Aziz Ali, and Mustafa Ahmed Al Hawsawi. Those proceedings have been stayed since February, as have the proceedings pending in military commissions against four other detainees accused of different crimes. A case in military commissions against the alleged mastermind of the Cole bombing, Abd al-Rahim al-Nashiri, was withdrawn in February.

For the past several months, prosecutors at the Department of Justice have been working diligently with prosecutors from the Pentagon’s Office of Military Commissions to review the case of each detainee at Guantanamo who has been referred for prosecution. Over the past few weeks, I have personally reviewed these cases, and in consultation with the Secretary of Defense, have made determinations about the prosecution of ten detainees now held at Guantanamo, including those charged in the 9/11 plot and the alleged mastermind of the Cole bombing.

Today, I am announcing that the Department of Justice will pursue prosecution in federal court of the five individuals accused of conspiring to commit the 9/11 attacks. Further, I have decided to refer back to the Department of Defense five defendants to face military commission trials, including the detainee who was previously charged in the USS Cole bombing.

The 9/11 cases that will be pursued in federal court have been jointly assigned to prosecutors from the Southern District of New York and the Eastern District of Virginia and will be brought in Manhattan in the Southern District of New York. After eight years of delay, those allegedly responsible for the attacks of September the 11th will finally face justice. They will be brought to New York to answer for their alleged crimes in a courthouse just blocks from where the twin towers once stood.

I am confident in the ability of our courts to provide these defendants a fair trial, just as they have for over 200 years. The alleged 9/11 conspirators will stand trial in our justice system before an impartial jury under long-established rules and procedures.

I also want to assure the American people that we will prosecute these cases vigorously, and we will pursue the maximum punishment available. These were extraordinary crimes and so we will seek maximum penalties. Federal rules allow us to seek the death penalty for capital offenses, and while we will review the evidence and circumstances following established protocols, I fully expect to direct prosecutors to seek the death penalty against each of the alleged 9/11 conspirators.

In his speech at the National Archives in May, the President called for the reform of military commissions to ensure that they are a lawful, fair, and effective prosecutorial forum. The reforms Congress recently adopted to the Military Commissions Act ensure that military commission trials will be fair and that convictions obtained will be secure.

I know that the Department of Defense is absolutely committed to ensuring that military commission trials will be consistent with our highest standards as a nation, and our civilian prosecutors will continue to work closely with military prosecutors to support them in that effort.

In each case, my decision as to whether to proceed in federal courts or military commissions was based on a protocol that the Departments of Justice and Defense developed and that was announced in July. Because many cases could be prosecuted in either federal courts or military commissions, that protocol sets forth a number of factors – including the nature of the offense, the location in which the offense occurred, the identity of the victims, and the manner in which the case was investigated – that must be considered. In consultation with the Secretary of Defense, I looked at all the relevant factors and made case by case decisions for each detainee.

It is important that we be able to use every forum possible to hold terrorists accountable for their actions. Just as a sustained campaign against terrorism requires a combination of intelligence, law enforcement and military operations, so must our legal efforts to bring terrorists to justice involve both federal courts and reformed military commissions. I want to thank the members of Congress, including Senators Lindsay Graham, Carl Levin and John McCain who worked so hard to strengthen our national security by helping us pass legislation to reform the military commission system.

We will continue to draw on the Pentagon’s support as we bring cases against the alleged 9-11 conspirators in federal court. The Justice Department has a long, successful history of prosecuting terrorists for their crimes against our nation, particularly in New York. Although these cases can often be complex and challenging, federal prosecutors have successfully met these challenges and have convicted a number of terrorists who are now serving lengthy sentences in our prisons. And although the security issues presented by terrorism cases should never be minimized, our marshals, court security officers, and prison officials have extensive experience and training dealing with dangerous defendants, and I am confident they can meet the security challenges posed by this case.

These detainees will not be transferred to the United States for prosecution until all legal requirements are satisfied, including those in recent legislation requiring a 45 day notice and report to the Congress. I have already spoken to Governor Paterson and Mayor Bloomberg and am committed to working closely with them to ensure that all security and related concerns are properly addressed. I have every confidence that we can safely hold these trials in New York, as we have so many previous terrorism trials.

For the many Americans who lost friends and relatives in the attacks of September 11, 2001 and on the USS Cole, nothing can bring those loved ones back. But they deserve the opportunity to see the alleged plotters of those attacks held accountable in court, an opportunity that has been too long delayed. Today’s announcements mark a significant step forward in our efforts to close Guantanamo and to bring to justice those individuals who have conspired to attack our nation and our interests abroad.

For over two hundred years, our nation has relied on a faithful adherence to the rule of law to bring criminals to justice and provide accountability to victims. Once again we will ask our legal system, in two venues, to rise to that challenge. I am confident it will answer the call with fairness and justice.

Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, alleged mastermind of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, and four others accused in the attacks will be put on criminal trial in New York, Attorney General Eric Holder is expected to announce later Friday.

There have been reports in the past month about another potential terrorist attack disrupted in New York City. Bringing these high profile terrorist leaders to New York will just put a target on New York again.

Even worse, the White House is going to subject these terrorists to criminal trials in civilian courts. They will get all the due process rights of citizens in court and potentially will be able to get access to material evidence in a civilian court that could reveal intelligence we’d prefer them not to have.

In a splitting the baby moment, though,

in the announcement Friday will be plans to hold a military tribunal for Abd al-Rahim al-Nashiri, alleged to have planned the 2000 bombing of the USS Cole.

So, the man who blew up New York gets a civilian trial and the guy who blew up the Cole gets a military tribunal.???

This is more than outrageous it is a “clear and present danger” to America’s security! Not only in bringing this terrorists to the city where he was the master mind behind the slaughter of 3,000 innocent men and woman but also as the article states, intelligence information will be brought out under discovery. Not to mention that this trial could last for years at what costs to taxpayers?

This is man is not a US citizen, he is a terrorist and self declared enemy of the United States. As an enemy combatant he should be tried at a military tribunal.

And of course the question must be asked, Why the man who blew up New York gets a civilian trial and the guy who blew up the Cole gets a military tribunal.??? What was the criteria used to make that decision??

Call your Congressman and Senator right now. Tell them they should use every tool at their disposal to block this.

Hijackers Timeline

The most interesting thing I got is an FBI document called the Hijackers Timeline, which even made it to Raw Story. It was 298 pages, heavily redacted and came in a tightly bound FedEx package. It contained a lot of new information about 9/11, for example we found that two of the hijackers, Khalid Almihdhar and Nawaf Alhazmi, said they moved in with a suspected Saudi agent immediately after arriving in the US, instead of 2-3 weeks later, as was claimed after 9/11. The document also shows there is video of two of the hijackers at Dulles airport the day before the attacks; this may be related to the account of security guard Eric Gill, who said the hijackers attempted to penetrate a secure area there on that day, but was largely ignored by the FBI and 9/11 Commission. There are lots of other interesting snippets, such as Marwan Alshehhi and Hamza Alghamdi spending hundreds of dollars on “pornographic video and sex toys,” Abdulaziz Alomari losing his plane ticket just before 9/11, and the length of a call (16 minutes) between the hijackers in the US and al-Qaeda’s main communications hub in Yemen. We know the call was intercepted by the NSA, but it allegedly did not figure out one party to the call was in the US.

FAA Calls on Day of 9/11

After this comes a transcript of calls involving FAA facilities and other organisations on the day of 9/11, which you can find here (summary here). The calls provide information about the FAA’s awareness of the hijacked flights. For example, the military liaison at New York Center was informed of the hijacking of Flight 175 at about 9:02 a.m., one minute before it crashed into the World Trade Center; the FAA and American Airlines discussed the hijacking of Flight 77 for a third time before it hit the Pentagon; and United Airlines called the FAA some time around 10:00 a.m. and claimed Flight 93 was over Hagerstown, Maryland, although it allegedly crashed in Pennsylvania some time before it reached Hagerstown.

Catcher’s Mitt

The next three documents we obtained were from a request for documents we think might be related to an FBI programme called “Catcher’s Mitt.” We think Catcher’s Mitt deals with surveillance of al-Qaeda-related extremists in the US. We found the references to the documents in the DoJ Inspector General’s report on the FBI’s performance before 9/11.

The first is a memo from FISA Court Chief Judge Royce Lamberth about problems with requests submitted by the FBI for warrants under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA). It is dated 9 March 2001 and referenced in the event March 2001: Justice Department Investigation Finds FISA Applications Are Misleading. The memo says that errors (essentially, the FBI was completely ignoring the “wall”) keep being made, despite measures to prevent them. The memo bans one FBI agent, Michael Resnick, from submitting any more affidavits about compliance with “wall” procedures to the court (reading between the lines, they thought he was deliberately flouting the procedures). The Department of Justice redacted Resnick’s name from the memo, even though it is clear which agent it is talking about from media accounts. My understanding is that although most of the errors pertained to surveillance of al-Qaeda targets in the US, Resnick was in charge of the Hamas section, and this memo related to Hamas.

The second is a memo from Attorney General John Ashcroft and is referenced in the event August 20, 2001 and After: Key Justice Department Unit Not Consulted about Moussaoui Warrant Request. The memo, dated 18 May 2001, sets out new procedures for dealing with requests under FISA. What is interesting about it is that it provides for closer coordination between field offices and the FISA Court, but this did not occur in the Zacarias Moussaoui case (no warrant application was submitted to either an ordinary criminal court or the FISA Court), and no warrant was issued.

The third is a cover letter for a report by the DoJ’s Office of Professional Responsibility into the errors. Apparently, the rest of this report will be forthcoming.

USS Cole Bombing

There is also a set of documents pertaining to the bombing of the USS Cole, which you can read about here. I got various documents in response to the request, but none of them was the one I wanted and none of the them was particularly interesting.

There are still several FOIA requests outstanding, so hopefully some more news in the not-too-distant future.

The death of liberty. That is what political correctness brings.

Political correctness stifles the truth. Political correctness propagates lies. Political correctness destroys liberty.

Islam is at war with the rest of the world, and especially with western ideologies. Our leadership is too cowardly to admit this. It is not a war like any we have faced before. It is not a war against nation states, but a war against the hateful, murderous ideology of islam. While the war against an ideology that we won’t admit to being in is not directly against nation states, many nations support this ideology. Our nations leaders and media provide cover, aid, and comfort to our enemy by laying a smoke screen about “moderate muslims.” Why aren’t these “moderates” speaking against the “radicals?” Because they support what they are doing.

The piece of excrement who killed 13 at Ft. Hood was a muslim terrorist. The people who flew airplanes into the World Trade Center towers and the Pentagon were muslim terrorists. Pan Am 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland, the takeover of the US embassy in Tehran, the hijacking of the Achille Lauro and killing of wheelchair bound Leon Klinghoffer, the bombing of the US embassies in Kenya and Tanzania, the attack on the USS Cole in Yemen, the bombing of the barracks and murder of 220 US Marines in Beirut, all acts committed by muslim terrorists.

Yet our political leadership, our politically correct media, and increasingly our senior military leadership refuse to admit this FACT. These muslim cowards hate pigs. The fact is that they are not good enough to be fed to our pigs. A pig would crap them out like so much undigested slop. These muslims terrorists are swine excrement.

US Army Chief of Staff General George Casey made the following statement after the Ft. Hood attack: “Our diversity, not only in our Army, but in our country, is a strength. And as horrific as this tragedy was, if our diversity becomes a casualty, I think that’s worse.”

With all respect due to a high ranking officer in the United States Military, Sir, you are full of crap. The real tragedy is that you and others like you continue to bury your heads in the sand and ignore the group that has been responsible for 99% of the terrorist acts in the world while you strip search 80 year old grandmothers at the airport to show that you aren’t profiling muslims. This is insanity and stupidity.

General Casey’s views and statements expose what much of our senior military leadership have become. General officers are nominated by a board of their peers and approved by the president and secretary of defense. As our presidents have become more and more liberal and politically correct, they have appointed more liberal and politically correct SecDefs, and approved more liberal and politically correct general officers, who in turn nominate more of the same.

These six words expose the ignorance of the whole politically correct movement: “Our strength is in our diversity.”

Diversity did not produce America’s strength. America’s strength is a result of our liberty, which produces excellence, which allows diversity to flourish as a byproduct.

November 11, 2009
http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2009/11/general_caseys_diverse_army.html

General Casey’s Diverse Army

Ken Russell

I am missing something here. After the attack and murder of 13 innocent people by an apparent imbedded radical Jihadist in the US Army, General Casey said on Meet The Press, “Our diversity, not only in our Army, but in our country, is a strength. And as horrific as this tragedy was, if our diversity becomes a casualty, I think that’s worse.”I have some questions for any military officer who swore an oath on several occasions to support and defend the Constitution. How many innocent Americans have to be murdered by someone who displayed every single modus operandi of the 9/11 attackers in order for freedom and defense of the Constitution to trump diversity? Will fourteen do it? How about a few hundred?

I took the oath of office a few times in my military career and for the life of me I don’t ever remember the word “diversity” being in it. Nonetheless, let’s take the General at his word, shall we? Is the Army or the nation for that matter, strong from “diversity” by celebrating someone who makes it very clear for years that he does not like the fact that Muslim Americans in uniform are fighting other Muslims who want Americans to die?

Color me a bitter Bible and gun clinger, but I thought our strength was in our freedom and the defense of our freedom by blood spilled on battlefields. I also thought that freedom allows diversity to flourish, not the other way around.

If an Army officer, superior to another Hasan-like soldier recognizes similar aspects displayed by Hasan and tries to thwart another similar attack, will General Casey admonish that officer because of insensitivity to “diversity?” It sure sounds like it to me. In fact, in a National Public Radio segment comments were made by some of Hasan’s superiors questioning whether or not they should do anything about his anti-American rhetoric (not to mention Hasan’s Power Point presentation).

They decided they should not because of their concern that it would not look good if the first Muslim psychiatrist were given an early discharge from the Army.

Even after the “tragedy,” General Casey still thinks that’s perfectly okay.

So, “as horrific as the tragedy was,” if the Army, Navy, Marine Corps and Air Force do anything at all that might cause “diversity to become a casualty,” no matter how many innocent Americans are murdered, especially murdered by military personnel; losing “diversity” would be worse? Really, General? Did you swear an oath to the Constitution or to a liberal professor’s PowerPoint presentation at Command and Staff College? Again, I would ask, how many innocent Americans have to be murdered before freedom and the defense of freedom trumps diversity?

The GovFreak abides!

I was sitting in my car Thursday afternoon, listening with rapt attention to the news coming out of Ft. Hood. This tragedy has impacted Wisconsin especially hard, with two dead and two of the wounded coming from the Badger State. My condolences and prayers go out to the victims and their families.

But imagine my surprise and shock when the host of the show I was listening to broke away to the President’s address, only to hear Obama speaking in a jovial manner, thanking the organizers of an Interior Department Conference on Native American Affairs for their work, promising that his administration would continue to discuss issues with tribal leaders and even giving a “shout-out” to Dr. Joe “Medicine” Crow, a Native American Congressional Medal of Honor winner.

It was only after 2 minutes of frivolity did Obama comment on the tragedy suffered by the troops who serve under his command. I will give him credit for what he did say, calling the event a “horrific outburst of violence,” and that “these are men and women who have made the selfless and courageous decision to risk and at times give their lives to the rest of us on a daily basis. It is horrifying that they should come under fire at an Army base on American soil.”

But that doesn’t excuse his poor decision to continue with the planned script for the day. It was well-known that Obama was planning to give closing remarks at the Native American conference on Nov. 5, and if this tragedy hadn’t occurred, nothing would have been thought of it. However, something tragic did happen to American soldiers waiting to deploy to a war that Obama is now in charge of.

He should have tossed his planned remarks, which came across to a stunned nation as insensitive and clueless, and immediately reassured the grieving military base and offered the condolences of the American people.

A lot of conservative talkers have demanded for Obama’s impeachment over this. That is a little much. It’s not a high crime or misdemeanor to be thoughtless and a clod. But the least Obama could do is to apologize for his insensitive behavior and demeanor.

The left has naturally come to Obama’s defense, immediately rehashing the “My Pet Goat” moment George Bush had on 9/11. If you’ve forgotten, Bush was reading a storybook to a class of elementary students when he was interrupted by an aide who informed him of the attacks on the World Trade Center. After this brief exchange, Bush finished reading the book to the students.

But there is a huge difference between these two events, a 3-hour difference. In Bush’s case, he was told of the attacks while he was reading to the students. Instead of immediately leaving or addressing the attacks in front of young elementary students, Bush maintained his composure, finished the book and left to deal with the business of the terrorist attack.

Obama, on the other hand, was told of the Ft. Hood incident as it was happening at 1: 30 p.m. (CST). He didn’t make his appearance before the Native American conference and address the nation until well after 4 p.m. (CST). Almost 3 hours had passed since Obama heard of the tragedy and his address to the nation. Plenty of time for him, his speech writer and his aides to dump the prepared remarks to the conference and adopt a more Presidential tone.

It’s not like the left doesn’t have examples of proper Presidential decorum in these types of situations. Bill Clinton unfortunately had to address the nation in times of great grief and he got it right.

When the Alfred R. Murrah building was destroyed by domestic terrorists at 9:30 am (CST), Clinton was informed within minutes while meeting with the Turkish Prime Minister. He didn’t immediately address the nation, but waited until the afternoon when he declared a federal emergency in Oklahoma City and called the incident an “attack on innocent children and defenseless citizens.”

Clinton added to his presidential stature when the USS Cole was bombed by terrorists off the Yemeni coast in the early hours of Oct. 12, 2000, he was vacationing in northern New York for his wedding anniversary. He returned to Washington by the late morning and addressed the nation in somber tones. He didn’t joke around with the reporters in the audience, he didn’t shout out to the military guards standing in the room.

So the left and Democratic apologists for Obama don’t have to excuse his behavior by playing the “Bush didn’t act Presidential fast enough” card. Instead, they should at least hold him up to the standards of a former President they worship and respect.

No more kid gloves. No more political correctness. No more pulled punches. (i)slam is the enemy of the rest of the world, and muslims can’t be trusted. They have proven this both by their actions and their inaction.

It has happened AGAIN today. A mUSLIM convert in the U.S. Army opened fire on soldiers at Ft. Hood, Texas who were getting ready to deploy to the middle east. This mUSLIM killed 12 and wounded 31 in what was described as a calm, calculated attack. Sadly, the swine testicle is still alive.

I overheard comments from a liberal blogger who was whining that “this wasn’t an act of terrorism. Terrorism targets innocent civilians, while this attack, the attack on the USS Cole, the attack on the Beirut barracks, and the shooting of two soldiers walking out of a Little Rock recruiting center were attacks on military targets.“ You don’t even know how right you are, you liberal, anti-American, piece of human excrement. This is more than terrorism, it is ANOTHER act of WAR.

The koran, quran, or whatever these evil people call the collection of satanic verses that direct them to HATE and KILL ME just because I am not one of them, directs muslims to befriend infidels (of which I am a proud one), and convert them to islam or kill them if they will not convert. (m)uslims first allegiance is to their religion, not to their country. Do you trust or want to be a part of a religion that teaches you to hate and kill, or one that teaches you to love and seek peace? Do you trust people who will strap bombs to their women and children and march them into market places full of innocent people to kill as many as possible? Golda Meir was right. Until they love their children more than they hate us, there can never be peace. Before you uninformed idiots out there start trying to misquote the Bible in an effort to use this argument against me, don’t bother. We have turned the other cheek. Look at the list below. We have turned the other cheek more times that we should have. It’s passed time to say “no more.”

It was muslims who attempted to blow up the World Trade Center the first time, and it was muslims who finally brought it down killing 3,000 some odd people. It was muslims who highjacked the other airplanes, successfully flying one into the Pentagon. It was muslims who were plotting to attack Ft. Dix, NJ and kill American soldiers. It was (Iranian) muslims led by their current president who took over our embassy in Tehran and held 52 Americans hostage for 444 days. It was muslims who attacked the USS Cole. It was muslims that blew up the U.S. Marine barracks in Beirut. It was muslims who blew up Pan Am flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland killing 243 innocent people. The list is endless. Anywhere there is violence in the world today, muslims are at the center of it. Have muslims who are supposedly not “radical” spoken out against any of this? Not a peep. In fact, the first reaction after one of these cowardly murderous attacks is for the various muslim organizations to preemptively complain about how muslims will be discriminated against. You don’t want me to distrust you and “discriminate” against you? Then stand beside me, loudly denounce islam, and help me defeat the enemy who is trying to kill me and my children. Until then, I don’t trust you. You write on your blogs about how “heroic” these evil swine-bred-with-female-dogs are (http://forums.islamicawakening.com, mujahid_moonsighter – “reports now are saying that the shooter was a convert(revert) to Islam, a Major(officer) in the army Allahu akbar insha Allah he be shaheed, what a brave mujahid; omar247 – “One who defends the honour of his brother, Allah keeps the fire of hell away from his face on the Day of Judgment.”). In your muslim neighborhoods (which are muslim because you will not assimilate with Americans or the citizens of any other country that you infest) and muslim stores, and on your muslim radio and television stations RIGHT HERE IN AMERICA, you cheer when events like this take place. You are despicable. You are pork excrement for condoning the murder of innocent people.

Following the shooting today, Octobama wrapped his tentacles around the teleprompter long enough to issue condolences to those involved in the shooting. Mr. Obama, whether or not you are legally the president, you do currently occupy the office. The job title is “Commander-in-Chief,” which is a military title. You are not simply the consoler-in-chief, and you are supposed to be more than the campaigner-in-chief. You have a duty to America to quit sympathizing with our enemies and PROTECT THIS NATION. But I doubt that will EVER happen.

Whether or not our muslim-sympathizing comrade-in-chief, or our spineless congress have the courage to admit that we are indeed at war with islam, the fact remains that a state of war exists. All patriotic Americans will defend this nation against this threat with or without the help of our muslim president, or our impotent government. (i)slam is incompatible with America and the rest of the world.

p.s.: Yes, I know “islam” and “muslim” are supposed to be capitalized. To do so would convey some measure of respect that is not deserved.

In order to understand what is happening today you need to know your history.

Andrea

J. D. Pendry, Retired Sergeant Major, USMC: On Your Hands

Jimmy Carter, you are the father of the Islamic Nazi movement. You threw the Shah under the bus, welcomed the Ayatollah home, and then lacked the spine to confront the terrorists when they took our embassy and our people hostage. You’re the runner-in-chief.

Bill Clinton, you played ring around the Lewinsky while the terrorists were at war with us. You got us into a fight with them in Somalia and then you ran from it. Your weak-willed responses to the USS Cole and the First Trade Center Bombing and Our Embassy Bombings emboldened the killers. Each time you failed to respond adequately, they grew bolder, until 9/11/2001.

John Kerry, dishonesty is your most prominent attribute. You lied about American Soldiers in Vietnam . Your military service, like your life, is more
fiction than fact. You’ve accused our military of terrorizing women and children in Iraq . You called Iraq the wrong war, wrong place, wrong time, and the same words you used to describe Vietnam . You’re a fake! You want to run from Iraq and abandon the Iraqis to murderers just as you did to the Vietnamese. Iraq , like Vietnam , is another war that you were for, before you were against it.

John Murtha, you said our military was broken. You said we can’t win militarily in Iraq . You accused United States Marines of cold-blooded murder without proof and said we should redeploy to Okinawa . Okinawa, John? And the Democrats call you their military expert! Are you sure you didn’t suffer a traumatic brain injury while you were off building your war hero resume? You’re a sad, pitiable, corrupt, and washed up old fool. You’re not a Marine, sir. You wouldn’t amount to a good pimple on a real Marine’s ass. You’re a phony and a disgrace. Run away, John.

Dick Durbin, you accused our Soldiers at Guantanamo of being Nazis, tenders of Soviet style gulags and as bad as the regime of Pol Pot, who murdered two million of his own people after your party abandoned Southeast Asia to the Communists. Now you want to abandon the Iraqis to the same fate. History was not a good teacher for you, was it? Lord help us! See Dick run.

Ted Kennedy, for days on end you held poster-sized pictures from Abu Ghraib in front of any available television camera. Al Jazeera quoted you saying that Iraqi’s torture chambers were open under new management. Did you see the news, Teddy? The Islamic Nazis demonstrated another beheading for you. If you truly supported our troops, you’d show the world poster-sized pictures of that atrocity and demand the annihilation of it. Your legislation stripping support from the South Vietnamese led to a communist victory there. You’re a bloated, drunken, useless old fool bent on repeating the same historical blunder that turned freedom-seeking people over to homicidal, genocidal maniacs. To paraphrase John Murtha, all while sitting on your fat, gin-soaked ass in Washington

Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Carl Levine, Barbara Boxer, Diane Feinstein, Russ Feingold, Pat Leahy, Barack Obama, Chuck Schumer, the Hollywood Leftist morons, et al, ad nauseam: Every time you stand in front of television cameras and broadcast to the Islamic Nazis that we went to war because our President lied, that the war is wrong and our Soldiers are torturers, that we should leave Iraq, you give the Islamic butchers – the same ones that tortured and mutilated American Soldiers – cause to think that we’ll run away again, and all they have to do is hang on a little longer. It is inevitable that we, the infidels, will have to defeat the Islamic jihadists. Better to do it now on their turf, than later on ours after they have gained both strength and momentum.

American news media, the New York Times particularly: Each time you publish stories about national defense secrets and our intelligence gathering methods, you become one united with the sub-human pieces of camel dung that torture and mutilate the bodies of American Soldiers. You can’t strike up the courage to publish cartoons, but you can help Al Qaeda destroy my country. Actually, you are more dangerous to us than Al Qaeda is. Think about that each time you face Mecca to admire your Pulitzer..

You are America ’s ‘AXIS OF IDIOTS.’ Your Collective Stupidity will destroy us. Self-serving politics and terrorist-abetting news scoops are more important to you than our national security or the lives of innocent civilians and Soldiers. It bothers you that defending ourselves gets in the way of your elitist sport of politics and your ignorant editorializing. There is as much blood on your hands as is on the hands of murdering terrorists. Don’t ever doubt that. Your frolics will only serve to extend this war as they extended Vietnam . If you want our Soldiers home as you claim, knock off the crap and try supporting your country ahead of supporting your silly political aims and aiding our enemies.

Yes, I’m questioning your patriotism. Your loyalty ends with self. I’m also questioning why you’re stealing air that decent Americans could be breathing. You don’t deserve the protection of our men and women in uniform. You need to run away from this war, this country. Leave the war to the people who have the will to see it through and the country to people who are willing to defend it.

Our country has two enemies: Those who want to destroy us from the outside and those who attempt it from within.

Asking a legitimate question doesn’t guarantee a legitimate answer. Families bereaved due to acts of

Asking a legitimate question doesn’t guarantee a legitimate answer. Families bereaved due to acts of terrorism are often treated appallingly when they ask for a detailed explanation of how their loved ones died. If the bereaved family is content to accept government assurances that their loved ones were killed by Al Qaida or its affiliates, and that that organisation is led by Osama bn Laden, who is still alive, hiding out somewhere – but still plotting – then the government will be pleased to exploit that family’s tragedy as the incident is woven into the mythological fabric of a particular nation state. There can be televised funerals, lots of flag-waving, tears, grief – but please, no awkward questions. Don’t ask any, you know, security related questions – especially national security related questions. We must protect our sources, and not reveal how we gathered any intelligence, the government will claim. When all else fails and the questions are becoming too pertinent then sensetive intelligence sharing agreements with the U.S. will be given as the reason why a particular piece of information cannot be disclosed to the bereaved family.

Bereaved family members need to be allowed to go through the various stages of grief with as much care and consideration as humanly possible. That is because if they do not get past the initial anger at their loss, they will never progress to the final stage of the grieving process which is closure. If, for example, a bereaved family member’s anger at the murder of their loved one ends up consuming them, then the terrorists will have claimed another victim. One essential way to help bereaved family members deal with their loss is to tell them the truth at all times and if they want detailed answers then give them.
If the bereaved family member is not given the truth then they can be emotionally crippled by their loss – or are forced against their will to campaign for the truth as is the case of Jim Swire in the Lockerbie case.

Of course bereaved family members are not the only people to suffer because of acts of terrorism. Also directly affected are those injured in the attack and their families and friends. It is not necessary to point out to readers of this report that injuries to innocent bystanders are often horrendous. It should be pointed out, however, that many victims of terrorism end up losing their legs. This happened in the blasts of 7/7 and also the Bali attack of 2002. Losing one or even both legs would surely be a devastating loss for anyone, and if they were not given truthful answers to any questions they pose then the psychological trauma they are suffering will get worse. Injured people and their families also need to go through a grieving process of their own and recover as best they can. But the physical recovery process and the emotional recovery process are in fact two separate processes and at the same time a single process. Providing truthful information to all the various victims of terrorism is, therefore, an essential moral duty. There can be no exceptions, whatever belief system you hold.

With the above in mind, it is also necessary to avoid developing senseless conspiracy theories which may anger victims of terrorism and slow down their road to recovery. If the facts are quite clear, that a particular group carried out an attack for a particular reason, then suggesting otherwise only causes further grief. Imagine how bereaved family members would feel when confronted with some of the conspiracy theories prevelant in America. They might hear, for example, that their loved ones didn’t really die aboard Flights 11, 175, 77 or 93 but were all murdered later by government agents. They might hear, as another example, that the Twin Towers were demolished by explosives planted by the U.S. government. If they don’t have a science background and are not able to easily refute any particular conspiracy theory then they become enraged, unable to move forward in the direction that closure will bring.

Australian tourists visiting the resort island of Bali are sometimes accused of not respecting local culture, parading around the beaches semi-naked, getting drunk and riding rented motorcycles in a dangerous manner. To say that Indonesia’s Muslims are the only ones upset at this behaviour is not really accurate as many Balinese don’t like the behaviour either. Balinese people are not predominantly Muslim but practise their own version of Hindhuism which incorporates some indigenous animist traditions. The Balinese economy has nonetheless grown significantly since the advent of commercial passenger flights. An increase in visitors allowed the Balinese hospitality industry to grow significantly and previously unsealed roads were sealed. Not all the effects of tourism were beneficial, however, and it is sometimes suggested that Balinese traditional dancers, for example, have lost their tradional role within Balinese society as they now perform mostly for the tourists. As a way of summing up this perspective, it should be noted that in the second part of the last century, Bali became exposed to the rest of the world in a way that had not occurred previously. A tradional economy became a capitalist economy. The violence that rocked Indonesia in the 1960’s also had a significant impact on the development of Balinese society.

Within the above context it should be agreed that some visitors did behave inappropriately but some behaved very well. The well-behaved tourists were officially welcomed at the airport by Indonesian government employees and the Balinese themselves made a conscious effort to be welcoming, friendly and courteous. Australians who ventured overseas for the first time and found themselves at Denpassar airport also discovered for the first time in their lives that they didn’t belong to the dominant culture anymore; they had to fit in with their European or American counterparts and with the people who owned the island. For a young person who has never left one of the major Australian cities, this can be the first step on the path to a better personal understanding of the world.

Nevertheless, in late 2002, a group of terrorists identified by the Australian government as Islamic fundamentalists, attacked Bali and caused the deaths of nearly 200 mostly young Australians. The Australian government adopted the rather peculiar position of disagreeing with a joint Indonesian/FBI forensic investigation which found traces of C4 plastic explosive residue at the site of the attack. Indonesian police spokesman Brigadier-General Saleh Saaf said: “We have together with experts from the FBI processed the data jointly and we are now really certain that C4 explosive was used”. It is important to note at this point that the data was jointly processed, which could mean that experts from the FBI and Indonesian police both participated in tests – but which could also mean that tests conducted by the FBI were confirmed by Indonesian tests or vica versa Readers are advised to study the BBC report to get a better understanding of the investigation.

One sigificant suggestion in the report is that the discovery of C4 at the site “ prompted speculation that if Islamic militants carried out the bombing, they may have had some help from elements in the Indonesian military which have been involved with resurgent radical Islamic groups since the fall of General Suharto in 1998.” Because C4 is primarily a military grade explosive which is a lot harder to get hold of than agricultural fertiliser or even TNT, the use of C4 would tend to suggest the attackers had access to military resources, which is difficult to reconcile with the attack being carried out solely by homegrown radicals. The Prime Minister of Australia at the time, John Howard, appeared on national television and said that the Australian Federal Government and the Australian Federal police were unable to conclude that C4 explosive residue had been found and disagreed with any suggestion that C4 residue had been found. The trouble for this argument was, however, that the conclusion that C4 been found was confirmed by two of the world’s most experienced police forces as a result of a joint investigation. Was the Australian Prime Minister suggesting that the joint FBI/Indonesian investigation had conducted unscientific tests or that the results were tainted? Was he suggesting that the FBI/Indonesians were for some reason incapable of conducting scientific forensic tests? Was the Australian Prime Minister rejecting the conclusion that C4 explosive residue had been found at the blast site for less than honest reasons; perhaps because even to speculate that the attackers had access to military resources was unacceptable from a political point of view?

An alternative hypothesis emerges at this point. Perhaps the suggestion that C4 explosive residue had been found was a lie in the first place, conconcted by the FBI and elements within the Indonesian police force to exert pressure on elements within the Indonesian armed forces who were openly supporting Islamic radicals, especially in Arce, via an Archinese operative known as Abu Jihad. Indonesian Security Forces, widely criticised in Australia for their role in the Dili graveyard massacre and their alleged participation in communal strife in the Mallaccas on the side of the Muslims, could be seen in this light as being the recipients of a payback. Perhaps the allegation wasn’t meant to stick, with a single unequivical Australian objection to the results of the forensic tests. Perhaps – but I don’t think so for two specific reasons.

In 2003 or 2004 an SBS Dateline programme aired on Australian television with some fanfare prior to the programme’s scheduled airing which hyped the suggestion that the Australian Government were not at all happy with SBS about the programme’s content and had unsuccessfully tried to ban the programme through the courts on the grounds that it disclosed, you know, national security secrets. Now anyone who can remember Abdurrahman ad-Dakhil Wahid, the half-blind Indonesian President, could only describe him as an enigmatic, animated character. But in a quite remarkable segment of the programme, which unfortunately I was unable to record, the President of the Indonesian Republic suggested that perhaps the plans of Amrozi, Iman Samudra and Ali Gufron had been discovered by the Indonesian military who then conspired to make sure the attack caused maximimum carnage, making sure C4 was used to increase the bomb’s damage. In his own words the Indonesian President suggested this possibility and then the next moment said that he, of course, was suggesting no such thing. In Abdurrahman ad-Dakhil Wahid’s unique style he was, in fact, making a suggestion – and then stating that that would be the farthest thing from his mind. It was a clever ploy but it was not one which could be seen as having only one interpretation. He was, in effect, putting elements of the Indonesian Security Forces on notice that they were under scrutiny. At this stage it is only fair to say that the jury was out about whether C4 had been used in the device which caused so much carnage on the island of Bali.

By now the many visitors to this blog will be aware of the story of Omar Hamza Jenvey, the ex Indian intel, FSB stooge who recently reverted to Islam, the true religion of God. Because Islam recognises Christians and Jews as true people of the book we are making this information available to you, in the hope that you will indeed revert to Islam, which is the only way to save yourselves from hell. We hope that you will recognise these words as being a sincere attempt to tell you the truth, and what you make of it is decided by Almighty Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. Omar Hamza Jenvey was in fact still an FSB/Indian intel operative at the time the Bali bombings. He spent his life conspiring against the true believers and attempting to frame them up. Despite his despicable actions, Allah has blessed him with a thousand blessings. Allah has accepted his sins and allowed him to enter into the fold of Islam, which always endeavours to spread the truth, no matter what the consequences are. But as a consequence of accepting Islam, Allah has decreed that formerly dishonest operatives who accept Islam must be truthful in their future encounters. They must obviate their past sins by being truthful in the future, praying five times a day, giving money to charity, going to Mecca and maintaining a fast in Ramaddan. In my opinion and not that of Islamic scholars they should also be prepared to extend the Muslim hand-shake to any other Muslim and be friendly and courteous, not forgetting to extend the mandatory Salaam Aleikum.

It is tempting to ask Mr Omar Hamza Jenvey what really happened in Bali. Because I’ve found information which requires urgent action. The bereaved relatives will not be able to have a hope in hell of getting their lives together with these questions hovering their heads. Please tell them the truth and let their grieving process for the relatives reach its ultimate goal which is closure.

I often get replies to these posts when I get my head together, stay honest and get on with the truth. Sometimes these posts contain, you know, national security information. What is important to realise is that as far as Australians are concerned, we have freedom of speech implied but not written into the Australian constitution. We obviously need help from Omar Hamza Jenvey and others to help bereaved family members overcome their grief. The following two links are of vital interest for anyone attempting to uncover the truth about the Bali bombings and the terrible carnage they caused. Sometimes replying in the normal manner via either operation_breaklock@yahoo.com.au or andreweslazak@yahoo.com.au is not appropriate, either. In that case please encrypt a blank txt message and send it to the aforementioned email addresses at your pleasure. Also the key

http://web.archive.org/web/20030619161847/www.supportersofshariah.co.uk/yemen.html

The above link opens a page of one of Glen Jenvey’s sites. Glen Jenvey was the name Omar Hamza Jenvey went by before he reverted to Islam. It seems that in his work as an agent of the Crusaders Mr Jenvey came across information which suggested that not only had C4 been used in the Bali bombing but the C4 came from the same batch as the C4 used in the USS Cole attack. Whether Mr Jenvey overheard this or was privy to any more detailed information is neither here nor there. What we are appealing for here is information which must be accepted with an open mind. We are confident we will receive information on this issue because giving us information is the right thing to do. Please don’t allow the victims of the Bali bombing to suffer a similar pack of lies as given to grieving families in the Lockerbie case.

Was Glen Jenvey so obsessed with Abu Hamza that he was prepared to blame him for almost anything? Please don’t forget that Mr Jenvey has in the past claimed that Abu Hamza was the architect of 9/11 and not OBL. Let’s not forget Mr John Loftus’ claim that Abu Hamza recruited radicals to fight in Kosovo for MI6. We know about the C4 used in the USS Cole attack but was C4 used in Bali as well and if so was it the same batch. Where does the batch trace back to? Questions, questions. Legitimate questions. Please help provide the answers.

It makes you wonder after watching this video, if there is really more to the story than its being told. Of course, there are numerous elements that have been left out. But since this is a two-hour video, I guess we will never know the The Truth about 9/11. There have been many speculations that, former President George W. Bush knew all along about the events leading up to the ‘September 11th, 2001′ tradegy. Of course, most Americans would agree to that. (Remember when the first incident of the World Trade Center back in 1993 ? Former President George H.W. Bush was in office.

Was that somehow a coincidence ? Or did the Bushes know something far more sinstered than Americans did, that would connect them to the ‘Osama Bin Laden’ connection ? I personally believe, they knew very well about the upcoming events of 9/11 … thirty years earlier. Not just when the USS Cole was attacked on October 12, 2000
(http://www.globalsecurity.org/security/profiles/uss_cole_bombing.htm). And, after eight years later, since the last attack on the World Trade Center. We are due for another attack on American soil. But its not a matter of What and Who; but a matter of When and Why. (But I am sure, when the next attack comes … we’ll have a better understanding just “who is really behind us” in the (so-called) War on Terror.

Let’s start with what President Bush and Vice President Cheney encountered shortly after their election. 9/11, in which over 2,000 Americans died, was the worst act of foreign aggression ever carried out on American soil. Just as significant, this was not an individual act against the United States but was a culmination of a series of attacks by Islamic Fundamentalist. First, there was the 1993 terrorist bombing of the World Trade Center. Then there was the bombing of the US facilities in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in 1995. Next was the attack on the Khobar Towers in 1996 that killed US servicemen. This was followed by the attack on the East African embassy in 1998 and finally the murder of American sailors on the USS Cole in 2000.

While President Obama will not call this a war, the above represents one, in my humble opinion. Given the terrorists attacks against America from 1993 through 2001, President Bush and Cheney took the offensive and the political risks involved with their decisive approach. There tactics were not all correct or successful, but that Administration deserve credit since there were no further attacks in America during the Bush presidency. The alternative is to view this fact as an unbelievable streak of luck, which I do not see as a credible answer.

President Obama’s first nine months in office have raised concerns relating to his foreign policy. He promised to negotiate with all without conditions and has apologized for American history on various occasions. As a result of this diplomatic approach, the North Koreans have became more belligerent and set off another nuclear explosion. Iran is no less belligerent to United States and has used force to stifle dissent in its country. Most recently, President Obama has canceled the antimissile system to be placed in Eastern Europe designed to protect against Iranian missiles. President Obama’s actions seem to mimic the appeasement strategy that Europe used so unsuccessfully prior to World War II.

So Jesse, to answer your question, I felt safer on foreign policy front under the Bush. Administration. That’s a no-brainer.

This person summed it up very well when he said the following about Obama:

For all that can be fairly said about the mistakes of the Bush Administration in Iraq and Afghanistan, one thing has become quite apparent; Obama has not learned from any of them. He may be interested in success, but sadly the success Obama seeks appears to be in the voting booth and not on the battlefield. In the meantime, Soldiers die as they await a strategy and a plan…and the resources necessary…to accomplish them.

Obama is not interested in, nor does he understand what military victory really is. He is actively engaged in the dismantling of our defenses, and thus is engaged in ensuring the destruction of our country. While leading the way, he and the other military hating democrats are gleefully taking steps to defund and ensure the decay of our military.

Everyone in the military who has ever been to Iraq, Afghanistan, or fought in any other war we have been unfortunate enough to wage all want to do one thing: WIN. America’s military was never intended to be a police force, to build nations, to win hearts and minds, or to win votes for our crooked politicians. When boiled down to its essence, the true mission of our military is to be READY, willing, and able to kick anyone’s butt, anytime, anywhere. That involves killing people and breaking things. You can’t win a war by NOT insulting the enemy, or trying to make the enemy like us. Sadly, you can’t fight a war without some innocent people dying. When you try to pussyfoot around and win a war by NOT killing as many of the enemy and breaking as much of his stuff as quickly and violently as possible, you only succeed in causing unnecessary deaths of our soldiers and their civilians. When you tell the enemy everything that you WON’T attack, they will take refuge and store there war materials there. When the enemy knows that certain death and destruction await should they attack us, they don’t attack us. Why are the muslims attacking us so freely now? Osama bin Laden said it best. They saw weakness. When we ran from a two-bit war lord in Somalia, bin Laden and the rest of the muslim world saw weakness. Since then you’ve had the USS Cole bombing, the embassy bombings in Africa, several other attacks on U.S. interests around the world, and the big one, 9/11. All because we showed weakness. Yet how does Obama and the rest of the liberal horde try to deal with these muslims the countries from which they come? By talking about our “common goals,” by “understanding” them, by trying to make them like us, by carrying on “dialogues” with them, and by doing anything except what is required to keep us safe from them.

To Mr. Obama and any of the rest of the spineless politicians who aren’t willing to do what it takes to win, I say if you will not let us win then bring us home.

On February 17, 2009 (just about a month after swearing an oath to defend his Country against all enemies foreign and domestic) it was reported that Barack Obama was committing an additional 17,000 troops to the Afghanistan “conflict” in order “[t]o meet urgent security needs.”

On March 27, 2009 Barack Obama “announced a comprehensive, new strategy for Afghanistan and Pakistan that is the culmination of a careful 60-day, interagency strategic review,” suggesting that:

We are in Afghanistan to confront a common enemy that threatens the United States, our friends and allies, and the people of Afghanistan and Pakistan who have suffered the most at the hands of violent extremists. So I want the American people to understand that we have a clear and focused goal: to disrupt, dismantle, and defeat al Qaeda in Pakistan and Afghanistan, and to prevent their return to either country in the future…To achieve our goals, we need a stronger, smarter and comprehensive strategy.”

Two days later, on March 29, 2009 it was reported that Barack Obama was committing “4,000 troops to Afghanistan along with hundreds of civilian specialists in an effort to confront what he considers “the central challenge facing [that] country.” Now the master of indecisiveness is promising “to announce new strategies for both countries Friday” (September 25, 2009).

To the detriment of us all, while Obama waffles and flips and flops (like the fish out of water we all knew he WOULD be in trying to fake it as a legitimate Commander in Chief) between all these strategies he can’t seem to make up his mind about, 317 MORE Soldiers have died fighting in defense of Operation Enduring Freedom which is more than 30% of the total lives lost during the entire 8 years of the conflict.

This is a record no man should ever be proud of. Barack Obama’s incompetence is directly and solely to blame for the flag-draped coffins of grief that have been delivered upon hundreds of American families and shame to the office he should never have been allowed to hold.

Let us go back in time to the Petraeus report to Congress in the spring of 2008 and the eerily similar difficulties the General had in Iraq.

Various elements push Iraqs ethno-sectarian competition toward violence. Terrorists, insurgents, militia extremists, and criminal gangs pose significant threats. Al Qaedas senior leaders, who still view Iraq as the central front in their global strategy, send funding, direction, and foreign fighters to Iraq. Actions by neighboring states compound Iraqs challenges. Syria has taken some steps to reduce the flow of foreign fighters through its territory, but not enough to shut down the key network that supports AQI. And Iran has fueled the violence in a particularly damaging way, through its lethal support to the Special Groups. Finally, insufficient Iraqi governmental capacity, lingering sectarian mistrust, and corruption add to Iraqs problems. These challenges and recent weeks violence notwithstanding, Iraqs ethno-sectarian competition in many areas is now taking place more through debate and less through violence. In fact, the recent escalation of violence in Baghdad and southern Iraq was dealt with temporarily, at least, by most parties acknowledging that the rational way ahead is political dialogue rather than street fighting.

I admit to not being a Military strategy expert, but it’s not much of a stretch for me to see how similar the difficulties in Iraq were back then to the issues General McChrystal finds himself confronted with today. In asking for more troops on HIS battlefield, along with a host of other resources and a palpable desperation in suggesting that failure in Afghanistan is clearly NOT out of the question, General McChrystal has this to say about the state of the war in Afghanistan:

The stakes in Afghanistan are high. NATO’s Comprehensive Strategic Political Military Plan and President Obama’s strategy to disrupt, dismantle, and eventually defeat al Qaeda and prevent their return to Afghanistan have lad out a clear path of what we must do. Stability in Afghanistan is an imperative; if the Afghan government falls to the Taliban – or has insufficient capability to counter transnational terrorists – Afghanistan could again become a base for terrorism, with obvious implications for regional stability.

The situation in Afghanistan is serious; neither success nor failure can be taken for granted. Although considerable effort and sacrifice have resulted in some progress, many overall indicators suggest the situation is deteriorating. We face not only a growing and resilient insurgency; there is also a crisis of confidence among Afghans — in both their government and the international community — that undermines our credibility and emboldens the insurgents. Further, a perception that our resolve is uncertain makes Afghans reluctant to align with us against the insurgents.

Success is achievable, but it will not be attained simply by trying harder or “doubling down” on the previous strategy. Additional resources are required, but focusing on force or resource requirements misses the point entirely. The key take away from this assessment is the urgent need for a significant change to our strategy and the way that we think and operate.

Many of the specifics that McChrystal goes on to discuss in this report suggest, like in Iraq, that we need to be with and among the Afghans…that we need to provide them with security and justice and a belief that they can trust their government and its representatives (first using our OWN security resources while the Afghans themselves can assume these responsibilities) and that we can prove to them that we stand with them in this fight until they can stand on their own…however long and at whatever cost might be necessary for them (and us) to do so. It is this approach that gave the Iraqis the confidence to come forward and confide in us regarding where the bad guys were, what they were up to, and WHO they were that mingled amongst them. No such trust exists in Afghanistan today, and no actions from the Obama administration thus far in its existence have given the Afghan people any reason to believe we can be trusted any time soon.

Americans, remember. Remember where you were on this pivotal day in American history. Remember the anger you felt. Remember the fear you felt for the day and for the future. Remember that we did not attack them, they attacked us. Remember that 9/11 was not the 1st time they attacked us. Remember that all over the world, the U.S. had actually been and continues to free and defend MUSLIMS. Yet they came. They tried unsuccessfully to bring down the towers the first time. They attacked the USS Cole. They bombed our embassies, and other places where Americans could be found. They attacked us repeatedly. They attacked because we showed weakness. Yet we did nothing. We sat back on our heels and absorbed body blow after body blow. Finally, after these camel-shagging little sheet heads killed 3,000 some odd American people in one morning, America retaliated. Yet even in our retaliation we attempted to free oppressed muslims from their own muslim oppressors. Ironic, huh? Now, after landing a few good blows of our own, we are retreating to the ropes. We, led by our Islamic Sympathizer-In-Chief Barack Hussein Obama, are again showing weakness to the Arab world. Arabs/muslims respect strength. It is one of the few things they understand. Yet what are we doing? Our “president” is bowing to muslim kings. We are letting crackpot dictators have their way with us. We are letting the Taliban and Al Qaeda regain their strength when we nearly had them defeated. We are dismantling or allowing our military might to go fallow. We are sowing the seeds of our own destruction.

Watch these videos and remember. Show them to your children and explain that the world is not as nice as the Disney Channel portrays. Explain to them what America stands for, or used to stand for.

I just read the following on CNN.com: “CIA interrogators threatened an al Qaeda prisoner with

I just read the following on CNN.com:

“CIA interrogators threatened an al Qaeda prisoner with a gun and an electric drill to try to scare him into giving up information, according to a long-concealed inspector-general’s report….The gun and drill were used in two separate interrogation sessions against Abd al-Rahim al-Nashiri, one of the sources said. Al-Nashiri is accused of plotting the 2000 attack on the USS Cole, which left 17 U.S. sailors dead.”

It seems like lots of these stories have come out over the last two years. The CIA continues to back-peddle faster than Usain Bolt in the 100 meter sprint. The article says that the CIA doesn’t endorse this behavior and was “angry as hell” when the report surfaced. And, to be expected, the ACLU jumped in with their two cents. They’re like the scrawny, mouthy kid in school who talks a big game but is no where to be found when a fight breaks out.

Meanwhile, I continue to be flabbergasted at our societal response to situations like this. Do I think we should grab innocent people off the street and torture them for information on other governments? Absolutely not. But that’s not what’s going on here. Abd al-Rahim al-Nashiri has been accused of a terrorist plot in which 17 American sailors were killed. Obviously we have probable cause linking him to the situation, which means we can fully expect that he has further knowledge of his terrorist cell. Correct me if I’m wrong, but killing 17 American servicemen is an act of war on the United States, and, like it or not, torturing POWs for information is part of war. It has been since the beginning, and will always be. Being captured and tortured for information is a risk that al-Nashiri assumed when he acted on his plot.

The only ones who deserve to be “angry as hell” are the families of the 17 victims. Apparently their country is more concerned with the rights of a single Muslim terrorist than with the safety of it’s citizens and servicemen. Maybe a little more waterboarding, gun, and drill tactics on the last terrorist we caught would have revealed al-Nashiri before the attack on the USS Cole, saving the lives of those 17 sailors.
