Recently I have visited the popular video social site which is named “Stickam“. Very similar to “Ustreamtv“. Both sites you can host your own video show, basically you have your own television show at the comforts of your own home. This is perfect for bloggers, radio host wannabes and Dee JaysYou could even do a live performance of your favorite local bands.

Great ideal right? Yeah, Slow down a minute. I have visit both sites and so far I haven’t witness any bad behavior on Ustreamtv but on the other hand with Stickam, I was amazed. I have seen nudity and public masturbation with both of the sexes. I have chatted on occasionally, surprised realizing, how many innocent children were visiting the Stickam site daily. Unsupervised children are sitting in front of their computer in the kitchen and living rooms while their families are walking in the background cleaning the house and making dinner. Meanwhile some other child are on the computer masturbating for the world to see. Look I understand the rights people have and I don’t care if you don’t care but some children are conflicted on being the person they want to be. Even though mental they are not there yet. I recently saw a couple of articles where three men were charge in different locations for trying to get some girl to show more than they should.   One problem in this is that the are no age restrictions or age verification within this site. Unless she looks like she is twelve you really don’t know. Is it right to chat with anyone and try to persuade them to go topless? probably so, morally wrong, but is it illegal if the girl or boy is above a certain age? Are the victims be punish too for getting nude on camera in a public site?” are we going for the defense that “The devil made me do it”.  Should we look closer at the family nucleus as a whole? Should we help parents understand the dangers of the internet? you think the parents will eventually realize that their child should not be in front of a cam with people they do not know!

Megavideo, Ustream TV, Veoh TV y Mogulus cuatro programas que te permiten disfrutar de esta nueva tecnología.  a>

¿Recuerdas el tiempo que tardabas en descargarte una película? ¿Y las horas que pasabas esperando a que el nuevo cd de tu grupo preferido llegará a tu ordena? Por fin, las esperas se han acabado y ahora la transmisión de vídeo, música, animaciones, juegos y películas interactivas se puede hacer sin necesidad de tener que descargarlos a tu PC para disfrutarlos y todo gracias a una nueva tecnología: Streaming. 

Se conoce así a un novedoso sistema hecho para Internet que permite transmitir de una forma eficiente audio y vídeo a través de la Red sin necesidad de descargar los archivos en el disco duro del ordenador del usuario para poder visionarlos. Basado en el protocolo UDP/IP asegura una velocidad en la transmisión que hace posible que el usuario pueda visualizar el archivo al mismo tiempo que se realiza la descarga.  Su funcionamiento se basa en que el ordenador del usuario construye un buffer, es decir, una memoria de almacenamiento temporal de información, que cuando se ha llenado con una pequeña parte del archivo el internauta puede empezar a reproducir el archivo de video o audio mientras la descarga continúa. Si en algún momento baja la velocidad de la conexión se utiliza la información que hay ya almacenada en el buffer, de modo que se puede seguir reproduciendo la información pero si la comunicación entre ambos, nuestro ordenador y el servidor, se pierde el buffer se vacía y la ejecución del archivo se paraliza hasta que se restablezca la señal.

Existen tres modos de streaming:

• En directo_ Las imágenes y el sonido son digitalizados y retransmitidos en tiempo real a Internet. En este caso, los usuarios pueden seguir el desarrollo de un evento en el mismo momento que éste se está produciendo. Es el servidor el que se encarga de controlar la transmisión de los datos utilizando tecnología “push”. Un ejemplo sería la videoconferencia.
• En diferido_ Las imágenes y el sonido proceden de un archivo digitalizado previamente y los usuarios pueden seguir el evento en diferido.
• Bajo demanda_ Las imágenes y el sonido proceden de un archivo digitalizado y almacenado en un servidor de streaming, de modo que los usuarios pueden solicitar su visualización a través de Internet en cualquier momento. En este caso es el cliente el que controla la transmisión y recepción del contenido multimedia utilizando tecnología “pull”.

Ahora analizaremos cuatro importantes programas de streaming: Mogulus, Megavideo, Ustream TV y VEOH TV.

Mogulus_

Es un servicio gratuito de video streaming en directo que permite crear canales online en vivo, colaborar con múltiples productores de cualquier lugar en el mundo, agregar gráfico en movimiento similares a los efectos de la televisión, crear listas de reproducción automática y todo esto a partir de una interfaz intuitiva de estudio.

Ofrece un ancho de banda infinito y una capacidad de almacenamiento para emitir tu video por Internet sin límites de audiencia.  Se presenta de una manera muy profesional y permite, incluso, crear canales temáticos basados en compilaciones, en ellos se emplearían muchas cámaras.

Mogulus nació y se diseñó con la idea de construir escenarios y características disponibles para los emisores tradicionales pequeños, incluyendo un pequeño conmutador de video que le permite al emisor sincronizar con facilitar y emitir cualquier cadena de emisión en directo. Además ofrece la posibilidad de crear títulos, créditos, logo del medio,… de una forma sencilla.  

En cuanto a la calidad de los videos únicamente ofrece una barra deslizante de control en la que tenemos tres posiciones: low, mid y high. La diferencia entre los tres medidores es casi imperceptible.

En definitiva, Mogulus se presenta como un servicio de video streaming en directo con unas características muy profesionales y de gratuidad, por el momento. Recientemente uno de sus directores ha afirmado que en un futuro se compaginará lo gratuito, que contendrá publicidad dentro de la programación, con el acceso por medio de pago dependiendo de la cantidad de ancho de banda que tu canal de video streaming necesite.

Megavideo_

Nos encontramos ante otro servicio de video streaming pero en esta ocasión de bajo demanda, es decir, los usuarios accedemos a una base de datos de la que descargamos la película, serie,… que queremos ver sin necesidad de esperar largos períodos de tiempo ni de ocupar espacio en nuestro disco duro para reproducirla.

Este servicio esta fundado por los creadores de Megaupload donde tienes la posibilidad de descargarte de forma directa videojuegos a tu ordenador sin largas esperas.

Tanto en uno como en otro observamos que hay dos formas de acceso: gratuita o de pago. Así pues si te inscribes a la forma de pago, Premiun, tendrás la ventaja de que los archivos se descargaran en el menor tiempo posible, no ves limitada la capacidad de descarga que tienes al día y un ancho de banda ilimitado. Aunque si no deseas hacerte socio Premiun tienes la posibilidad de seguir disfrutando de los servicios que ofrecen lo que pasa que con más limitaciones en cuanto espacio, velocidad y ancho de banda.Ofrece una interfaz sencilla, atractiva y más fresca que otros sitios web que ofrecen este mismo servicio como por ejemplo: Youtube.

Tienes la posibilidad de cambiar el idioma del servidor y además nos da la oportunidad de utilizar un buscador de videos que tiene incorporado este sistema. Estas son sólo dos características que le hacen ser más accesible.

No sólo nos ofrece el servicio de video bajo demanda sino que, recientemente, ha incluido la posibilidad de que el usuario pueda subir sus videos mediante suscripción, es decir, el streaming. En este sentido sigue manteniendo la misma política que para reproducir cualquier archivo lo podemos hacer de forma gratuita o por medio de Premiun. Ofrece los 500 MB por vídeo o 5 GB en las cuentas Premium un aspecto que muchos usuarios echaban de menos para poder publicar vídeos más largo y por consiguiente más pesados.

Ustream.TV_

Es un servicio online gratuito que nos permite crear, transmitir y visualizar videos en tiempo real desde una webcam. Nos encontramos ante un servicio que combina video streaming en directo y bajo demanda.

Da la posibilidad a los usuarios de interactuar por medio del chat, pudiendo puntuar, comentar cada pieza que se reproduzca dentro de Ustream.TV. Además ha querido que esta característica se primordial dentro del servidor ya que, recientemente, ha incluido la posibilidad de votar en directo y una curiosa herramienta que funciona como si aplaudieras. Con estas dos nuevas agregaciones pretenden conocer en tiempo real si al usuario le gusta el programa que se emite. También nos ofrece un reproductor estándar propio.

Su interfaz ofrece unos controles sencillos y bien organizados en cuanto al control de audio y video. Además tiene un monitor específico que permite realizar ajustes en la calidad de video, la velocidad de los fotogramas, el volumen del audio,… En este sentido UstreamTV se ha preocupado mucho por ofrecer una calidad de video óptima algo que otros servicios de las mismas características han tenido en un segundo plano.
Incluye la posibilidad de grabar videos y audio que se guardan en formato de video .flv (Flash video). Tienes la posibilidad de convertirlos a otros formatos con facilidad.

Ustream es el servicio que tienes que elegir si buscas una manera simple , sencilla, inmediata de usar un servicio de video streaming en directo puesto que en él encuentras todo lo básico que necesitas acompañado de unos buenos controles de calidad de audio y video y además tienes todas las facilidades para compartir, descargar y volver a publicar las mejores grabaciones de video donde tu quieras.

VEOH TV_

Es una red de P2P cuyas aplicaciones están disponibles para Windows y Mac .Se trata de una red de televisión virtual en donde puedes distribuir contenidos audiovisuales de alta calidad al resto de usuarios. Presenta una interfaz gráfica sencilla pero a su vez muy amigable e intuitiva que a pesar de estar en otro idioma, inglés, no es nada dificultoso para el usuario sentirse cómodo con el entorno que nos muestra. Además Veoh TV posee su propio formato nativo.

Es un servicio que no establece límites de tiempo, ni de ancho de banda ni en el tamaño del archivo. De esta forma facilita que el internauta pueda crear su propio canal de TV sin verse obligado a restringir sus ideas debido a que no puede llevarlas a cabo por las limitaciones que el servidor tiene. Fomenta la interactividad entre los usuarios mediante la opción de poder etiquetar nuestros vídeos y los de otros usuarios e incluso votar y comentarlos. Como algo anecdótico señalar nos ofrece un widget con juegos online para entretenernos en el sitio web.

Se presenta como una alternativa a sistemas como YouTube pero además posee mejoras que permiten compartir vídeos con una mayor calidad, que pueden ser visualizados por el resto de a usuarios a pantalla completa y sin que la imagen se deteriore.

Para ser un servicio relativamente nuevo dispone de una gran variedad de canales disponibles tales como Fox, NBC, Warner Chanel,… También existe la posibilidad de buscar vídeos que han sido recopilados de otros sitios web como yahoo o youtube.

 El Streaming a pesar de ser una tecnología que lleva poco tiempo circulando por la red, desde 1995, ha calado muy hondo en todos los usuarios que han tenido la oportunidad de conocerla.  Es un sistema que nos ofrece muchas ventajas como no llenar de espacio nuestra memoria o poder ver directamente en casa estrenos de cine con tan sólo un día de diferencia evitando así las largas esperas para que nos llegue a nuestro PC y dejar de cruzar los dedos para no encontrarnos con otra película que no tiene nada que ver con la que queremos. Pero no son solamente estas sus ventajas así nos podemos encontrar con webs que ofrecen en directo retransmisiones de las televisiones de otros países como es el caso de  ES.WWi.TV . Es una web que te ofrece señal, en muchos casos pirateada, de emisoras de TV algo que nos vale para saber como se trabaja fuera de nuestras fronteras y conocer otras formas de hacer TV.

Esta nueva tecnología ha permitido que disfrutemos de la red de una forma distinta y que nos perdamos tiempo esperando a que los archivos lleguen a nuestro PC.

Ashton Kutcher has become the first member of Twitter to have over 1 million followers, defeating CNN in a highly contested matchup.

Surrounded by his wife, Demi Moore, Soleil Moon Frye and Sean “Diddy” Combs supporting him via phone, the star officially crossed the one million mark, beating out rival CNN Breaking News shortly after 11 p.m. PT on Thursday.

“Where’s the champagne, where’s the champagne?” Kutcher said on his Ustream.TV Web feed just a short while before reaching his goal. “We’ve gotta pop the cork on this folks.”

CNN, which lost by less than 1,200 followers, quickly congratulated the star.

“Congrats @aplusk. Ashton Kutcher is the first twitter account to reach 1MM followers,” someone wrote on their Twitter account page.

I know it can be seen as a little weird, but when you are deeply interested in social media – the race on Twitter to reach 1 million followers first between CNN (@cnnbrk) / Larry King (@kingsthings) and Ashton Kutcher (@aplusk) is very interesting…

It´s not only the battle of David vs. Goliath not one man vs. a multinational media organization,  not that Kutcher is incredible cool – the new era – it´s the new society…

Ashton challenged CNN – if he won he would go and “ding dong ditch Ted Turners house” and Larry King picked up the challenge for CNN (You can see the challenging videos in my post “Showdown on Twitter…“

One of the highlights of the race were when Ashton went live on UStream.tv/ashton – really fun were when he introduced his dogs – cause nothing like showing dogs in an election as he said – one of the dogs is called Bama – and when the dog does good – they say Obama… Ashton and Bama made a duet – “Bridge over trouble water” – that did not sound to good And Of course he were supported in the background the whole time by Mrs. Kutcher (Demi Moore).

And while writing this I am listing to Ashton´s stream – and it´s truely fun – the guy actually has a lot of very cool things on his mind…

At 7 am CET you could see on Twitscoop.com that the things people were Twitting most about were anything Ashton said “Crocker” is the name of somebody Ashton tried to find out who were.

Friends and family @ the Kutcher residence really had a lot of fun crossing the finish line… and winning the race.. And backing him up on the phone – screaming about the first man on the moon – his friend P Diddy.

A lot af times when Ashton were talking live – he said “This is a media revolution” “power to the web” – and for sure it is. One man can now on Twitter broadcast to as many people as one of the largest media companies in the world..

Tomorrow at 3pm I’m starting “30-hour famine” with my youth group aka “The Edge”. We are going to be living outside the Manor House for 30 hours and surviving without food, technology, or “real” shelter. Words can’t describe my emotion right now how I feel about this. I’m anxious, excited, nervous, and ready to take on this huge deal. Doing this would not be easy if it weren’t going to be with this group of people though. Starting at 3pm we are also going to start live streaming the entire event onto the computer so everyone at home can watch us throughout the day. This will be shown on our ustream.tv page for The Edge Live. Every week on Thursday at 8pm Josh Carter, Brody Barrett and I stream “The Edge Live” to viewers on their computers at home. We started off with an average of 30-50 viewers and now we are up into the hundreds of viewers each Thursday night! Our most viewers ever recorded by ustream was 1,639 about three weeks back. Check in tomorrow throughout the entire day, but make sure you tune in at 8pm for a “real” yet special episode of The Edge Live. No computer Thursday or Friday, so if I don’t blog until then, wish me luck.

Here’s the deal…stayed home from Bible study tonight for a dumb reason…(so dumb, I won’t even bother sharing it).  Was sitting on the couch watching Macho Que Se Respeta en Sony Entertainment Television and feeling guilty, decided to pick up where I had left off earlier with trying to get updated with some new blogs I’ve started to follow, while chatting with one of my students and helping her edit a video commercial she’s making for another class, and keeping up with my TwitterFox.  So, was working my way through Alec Couros’s latest post and the bazillion fabulous  links from it.  Had just opened the Ustream.tv link and it was taking a bit to get going (I do live in the developing world after all) and as I was chatting away, Mr. Couros tweeted that he was broadcasting live from his iphone at the same very moment.  Now, you need to know this about me to appreciate this: I don’t believe in coincidence.  I do, however, believe that God gets us to do things He knows we need to do in the time they need to be done.  So, I was thinking that it was pretty cool that all this was going on (and surely I was going to learn something fabulous from it) and all of the sudden Ustream sprang to life with one of my (currently) favorite worship songs.  What?!?!!? Turns out The Rock And Worship Roadshow was also streaming!  Now, not that I didn’t want to listen to Mr. Couros’s stream (as I’m quickly becoming a huge fan), but…did I mention how I didn’t make it to Bible study tonight?  Well, I turned up the volume on the music and worshipped right here on my couch…except, I was chatting with that student…a middle school girl who I had just had a discussion with about how we can worship through rock music (she was staunchly against this idea, btw!).  Fortunately, she is also enamored with anything “online” (this is also a recent development, which is another story), so when I told her I was watching the coolest thing, she HAD to know what it was.  Sent her the link…she checked it out…loved it…called her parents (who didn’t even know you could talk to someone through the computer) and they all three ROCKED out!  A running joke I have with this student centers around how I’m always right…but guess what…this time I really was!   Er…I mean… HE was.  God works in such cool ways…including through Ustream!

Here’s what it all means to me anyway: 1) My dumb reason for staying home wasn’t AND I still got to spend time in God’s word 2) A middle schooler’s mind was changed (probably the most difficult task of all!) 3) The parents of a middle schooler got to witness how technology is NOT evil andhow their kid can use it productively (she also took the time to show them the animated commercial she had just made via Xtranormal) 4) Ustream has made it onto my Delicious list 5) Alec Couros moved to the TOP of my Dudes to Watch List 6) and God gets the Glory for all of it!!!!

… und das in mehrerlei Hinsicht.

Nicht nur das man dem Format gekündigt hat und somit seit geraumer Zeit Wiederholungen die nicht enden wollenden Stunden über den Äther waberten, bis endlich am Ende des 31.3. wohl wortwörtlich der Stecker gezogen wurde.

Nach einer langweiligen Wiederholung einer Novembersendung, wurde das Bild einfach schwarz. Nichts.

Keine Grafik (wahrscheinlich wurde der Grafiker/in als erste/r gefeuert), kein “Danke das ihr noch geblieben seid, jetzt könnt aber auch ihr endlich gehen“, nicht einmal ein Testbild. Einfach nur schwarz. Mit Piepton, hab ich mir sagen lassen, denn ich empfange den Sender seit Ewigkeiten nicht mehr, habe mir das Spektakel, den Hexenkessel, die Ruhe vor dem Sturm, das “Ende Gelände” aber nicht entgehen lassen und mit Freunden von nintendo-power.de über ustream den TV-Bildschirm einer der Redakteure beobachtet (übrigens kann man den Leuten da auch beim Spielen zusehen!), nebenher Witze gerissen und gelabert.

War spannender als Kino. Wirklich!

Okay.. April, April… war nicht spannender als Kino.. und der Aprilscherz war auch scheiße…

Aber dafür hätten wir schonmal zwei Fliegen mit einer Klappe geschlagen am heutigen Tag! Übrigens dachten einige wohl bis zur letzten Minute der Wiederholung daran, es könne sich um einen Aprilscherz handeln… naja… Schwarzes Bild ist sicherlich keine lustige Auflösung für diesen Scherz…

Wie dem auch sei, fehlen eigentlich nur noch die Shortcuts für den Monat März, oder nicht?

Streaming things live via the Internet

Engaging others through visuals and chat capabilities 24/7

USTREAM.TV does this and so much more.

Doors can be opened for organizations if they take advatage of sites like this. I can’t help but think that the OKC Zoo should use it to stream live videos of different animals, possibly highlighting a species each week and send a link to ZooFriends members. Having it available on the Internet would probably encourage visitors from other states to come visit the OKC Zoo if they had a glimpse of the great exhibits it has to offer.

I found USTREAM.TV helpful when I wanted to watch the NASCAR pre-season  Gatorade Duels and didn’t have access to the Speed Channel. They offered it on USTREAM so I was able to watch a portion of it while on-campus at OSU.

Positive ways I’ve seen USTREAM.TV used:

• To advertise puppies and kittens for sale. You can choose your next pet by watching it interact on the Internet.
• To show up-close visuals of animals that would normally be hard to view unless you were a part of the Discovery Channel crew.
• To promote a band or artist that needs extra publicity.
• To broadcast a radio station so listeners can view the DJs they normally only hear.
• To stream a Social Media class’s guest speaker so those who aren’t in the class or couldn’t attend could still watch and ask questions. @billhandy used this feature in my OKstate Social Media class when guest speaker, @mkokc, joined us in a discussion about the possibilities of using social media.

My suggestion: Visit USTREAM.TV and find a way that you can utualize the features and capabilities it has to offer.

Guess what showed up in cydia today; ustream.tv iPhone app that let’s you live stream from your iPhone to ustream.tv . To my knowledge this is ustream’s 2nd iPhone app. The 1st iPhone app is in apple’s iTunes app store that let’s you watch ustream’s live video streams over wifi and this one allows you to broadcast. This also adds to the list of live video stream jailbroken apps as ustream.tv joins Qik, flixwagon and liveCliq to enable a feature that many people thank should be native when you buy your iPhone.

When you first launch the app it ask for your login information, after that you can configure your channel, pick the video quality and have the app send a tweet when you go live.

Kitten cam will be ending soon, and we have made a lot of friendships and met lots of cool people on ustream.
So, the folks that do well on ustream have a purpose, some reason they live stream.
After the kittens are gone, what will I do with it.
Jason @ Coffeecupnews suggested I really wake up and do the live 3am stream where I do stuff or try to answer questions.

People are so acquainted with my bathroom maybe I will live stream other parts of my house.
“3amjosh in the Kitchen” or dining room, living room, spare bedroom, attic, front porch, roof, etc.
I’m sure I will come up with something silly that no one cares to watch, but you never know! I never thought kittens would draw over 125,000 views in several weeks.

Sextondelsfinalerna i Champions League har nu äntligen inletts. Igår spelades det fyra matcher, varav matchen mellan Inter och Manchester United var klart mest intressant.

Christiano Ronaldo vs. Zlatan Ibrahimovic, som både media och reklammakare har försökt pränta in rätt så länge (med både lyckat och misslyckat resultat).

För er som inte är fotbollsintresserade så kan jag berätta att Champions League är årets fotbollshöjdpunkt. Det är en turnering med världens absolut bästa klubblag. En enorm fotbollsorgasm helt enkelt.

I Sverige har Viasat rättigheterna till att visa matcherna från Champions League i år. Viasat har flera TV-kanaler, både med ett allmänt och sportfokuserat utbud, bland dessa märks bl a TV3, TV6, Viasat Sport och Viasat Fotboll. Antalet människor som kan se dessa kanaler varierar väldigt, från åtskilliga miljoner för TV3 och TV6 till några hundratusen för sportkanalerna.

Av någon idiotisk anledning (läs: för att få så många nya abonnenter som möjligt till de sportfokuserade kanalerna) så visade Viasat givetvis matchen mellan Inter och Man U. på Viasat Fotboll igår.

Tänk att tjänsteleverantörerna aldrig lär sig.

Denna dumsnåla inställning från Viasat innebar att ett klart mindre antal personer kunde se gårdagens toppmatch. Det innebar även att annonsörerna, som betalade rejält för exponeringen i samband med denna match, gick miste om en enormt stor målgrupp.

Sist men inte minst innebar det även ett stort långfinger från Viasat, riktat mot alla svenska fotbollsentusiaster. Jag, och många med mig, har nämligen valt Canal Plus eftersom de visar fotbollsmatcher från Premier League, Serie A, den spanska och holländska ligan samt Allsvenskan.

Men inget ont som inte för något gott med sig.

Igår kväll fick jag upp ögonen för live-streaming av fotboll på nätet. Jag har kikat lite på Sopcast och en del andra P2P-baserade streamingtjänster tidigare, men nackdelen med dessa är det faktum att de många gånger kräver Windows. Nu hittade jag istället Ustream.TV.

Ustream.TV är, väldigt förenklat, en amerikansk och klart mycket mer kommersiell variant av Bambuser. Användarna av sidan spelar in saker, såsom fotbollsmatcher, som därefter streamas vidare över nätet till ett (teoretiskt sett) obegränsat antal mottagare. Det är den kostnadsfria varianten.

Sen finns det en kommersiell variant av Ustream.TV med anpassningsmöjligheter, ett programmeringsgränssnitt (API), en spännande betalningsmodell (för publicisterna) och mer därtill.

Det slutade med att jag såg denna fotbollsmatch, som förövrigt slutade mållös, tillsammans med 13 000+ andra mottagare på en (av flera) live-streams från Ustream.TV. Och det utan reklam och torra svenska kommentatorer.

Ikväll spelar Liverpool och Real Madrid. Gissa vad jag gör då.

So, kitten cam has gotten nearly 100,000 views in 5 weeks and has really messed with my head. Anywho, just yesterday ustream.tv was giving me some sort of crazy connection error and wouldn’t let me connect with any browser on any computer to stream. My first thought was it was our internet filter, SafeEyes, that was causing some issue and just blocking it randomly, but it seemed to be a widespread event with other ustream cams to be down as well.

So I sent out a tweet:

and within a minute or two I received this @ reply

So I sent a DM with my number and within 1-2 minutes I was on with tech support for ustream.tv! No waiting while listening to horrible music, sent out a tweet, gave them my number and in minutes I was on the phone with an extremely helpful ustream support guy, who even has been a fan of kittens cam and wanted to get it back up and running A.S.A.P.

It was some sort of bug in the ustream.tv system that was messing up a lot of the streams but they fixed it within 20-30 minutes and all of the viewers were happy again.

It’s a new age of customer service. To be able to send out a cry for help and be helped out kindly and quickly is huge! Is your company online looking to see what folks are saying about you? It seems if your not, you might have some customers who when in distress might switch services. Get someone from your computer scanning twitter now!

Many experts (or expert wannabes of all field, especially technology-related topics) have daily or weekly “shows:” they host live on the internet via streaming services that are out there and even integrate chat capabilities.

I always stumble upon a video or two of Chris Pirillo’s show either recorded on Youtube or live on his blog. He actually uses UStream.tv’s services to host his show and interact with the audience via chat.

Talkshoe – not exactly a video hosting service, it is a voice-enabled social talk show. You can create your own channel and host shows that have chat rooms for the guests to interact, if someone can’t be in front of the computer right there and then they can just call the show’s phone number (provided) and they will be able to listen/interact as well.

SeeToo - not exactly to host a show, but a curious little website that allows you to watch a video with someone far away at the same time. Works for me and my mom who lives in Brazil.

Have a message that you are ready to broadcast to the world? Well, at least to people who are interested in you, your organization, or cause?

UStream.tv. may be an easy answer.

I like Ustream because of the way it integrates with Twitter. You can easily promote to your Twitter followers when you are scheduled to or when you are preparing to broadcast. I really think this could be a tool for both internal and external communications when launching a brand, product, or service. It is also can be a way to keep the leadership connected to its stakeholders, internally and externally.

It allows viewers to have a chat conversation simultaneously with your broadcast where they can comment, chat with one another, or ask the broadcaster questions. Very interactive and very powerful!

It’s easy to setup, easy to integrate and promote using existing social media applications, and the other cool thing, it has an iPhone application.

Only two days after its release, Ustream’s iPhone Viewing Application has already hit the top spot of the App Store’s Entertainment section, and is ranked the 6th most popular free application overall. Ustream says that its latest figure for number of downloads stands at a whopping 113,000, which only represents the first 24 hours that the application was available (Apple doesn’t update download counts in real time). The application allows users to watch live and archived streams from Ustream.tv directly on their iPhone or iPod Touch, and also features an integrated chat. Microsoft has debuted a mobile-music service in the U.K. in a partnership with London-based VidZone Digital Media. The inventory includes 1 million tracks and 10,000 videos, all of which are DRM-protected.
