このブログはWordPress.comを利用しているが、当初からダッシュボード（管理画面）に現れる、他のユーザーに関するトピックの殆どが英語の記事であることに違和感があった。　「基本、米国のサービスだから、そうなのかな」とは思ったけど、世界80カ国語以上の言語に対応しているにしては偏りすぎじゃないのか？と。

そして理由が判明。ブログの「使用言語設定」がデフォルトの[en-English]のままだったからで、これを[ja-日本語]に設定したところ、最新記事情報に日本語のものが並ぶようになった。（よくできてるなぁ＾＾；）

【余談】その他、WordPress.comの設定で注意すべき項目として「タイムゾーン」がある。デフォルトがUTC：協定世界時になっている。SI単位系の標準はUTCだが、日本標準時JSTはUTC+9なので、これを変更せずに使うと投稿時刻に違和感が出る。（世界標準時といえば、かつてはGMT：グリニッジ標準時で表されることが多かった。GMTはロンドンのグリニッジ天文台での太陽観測に基づくもの。いち生命体としてはGMTに依存したい気がしなくもない／笑）

And article on Fox Sports titled “Why the cupcakes for Florida, Alabama?” questions the lack of challenge these top-two teams face Saturday this late in the season. Florida will be hosting on Florida International and Bama will be hosting Chattanooga.

An easy win. This would not do much to boost Alabama in the polls. But the advantage is this is almost like a bye week. A good opportunity… the last opportunity to work on their weaknesses and fine tune things before the next two games which will be really tough.

The last time Bama played such weaker teams was at the beginning of the season when they played Florida International and North Texas in consecutive weeks. In each of those games, the Tide racked up over 500 yards of offense. They have played Chattanooga 10 times in school history, all of them wins by a total score of 369-88.

My prediction…. Greg McElroy, near 200 yards passing, 2 TD’s. Mark Ingram, over 200 yards rushing and 3 TD’s. Final, 45-7.

This is my final product for my book cover project.  The top is the soft cover and the bottom is the hard cover, I suppose I should post some pictures of the book made and done as well later on.  The main idea, I might have stated in a previous post was just to take a book that does not have too many designs already created for it, and in my mind is somewhat untampered with, from a book cover point of view.  The book is the Bible, and through the process I began to understand why not many people have undertook this task, and it is because it is hard!  What new can you say about the bible?  The book is so old and so in the center of so many deep discussions and thoughts. But somehow I came up with something, and I am happy with the final product.

My original goal was to take the bible and put it into a more modern context using text and image, as well as target it at a younger audience.  I think I gravitated toward both of those ideas with the final product somewhat but I really feel as if my true view of the bible came out with this book cover, which even surprised me.  It surprised me to come to an understanding of how I viewed the bible, by someone else’s interpretation of my work.  It was either my teacher or a classmate who told me that my work made the bible appear as an intellectuals book. And then I took a second look, and realized thats exactly what it looks like and made me realize that I have always viewed the bible as something highly intelligent, influential, inspiring, and wisdom carrying.  I used to crave for wisdom, to find someone or something who knows the world, who is intelligent, intellectual, a thinker, someone or something who could help me understand the complicated world and all things in it.  I have always been drawn to people I view as intelligent, creative, and wise.  Then I ended this quest to find these people, and things that knew more than the average, and sat on a different level than the rest of the world when I found the bible.

The quotes found on the right sleeve of the hard cover fully represent my feelings about the bible and along with the image and text.  Who are we that God should be mindful of us?  I wanted the “holy bible” to be understated just because of how powerful those words are, I don’t feel they need to be exclamated with huge text.  I wanted the simple and quiet design, and when it sits next to the words “holy bible” it balances it out.

I snore. Loudly, according to Kevin’s imitation of me. Shang drugged me this afternoon with some orange thing that wasn’t supposed to be sucked on. How else was it supposed to dissolve? Today is the first Monday I don’t have bio seminar anymore. Best feeling ever not having class until 12! We got back yesterday, and that’s an even better feeling than no morning class on a Monday. There was a slight misunderstanding on my part about the time Susan’d pick me up. Since yesterday was time change, I wasn’t sure if she meant the current 3 o’clock, or the previous 3 o’clock. Today we went to Albertson’s to pick up some Sun Chips and other junk food. Our original destination was Trader Joe’s, but that place has too many healthy foods that people buy only to display it on their shelves so they can pretend to be healthy. We trekked further, with the determination to get some decent junk. Sun Chips, OJ, mint Oreos, M n’ M’s, and some milk later, Simon, Shang and I walked back to Jack-in-the-Box to get some long-overdue lunch. I had breakfast in the morning, but that was a long time ago, and I was hungry again. First time drinking soda in a long time, but they didn’t have anything else and the orange Fanta was hurting my stomach. I had root beer diluted with some plain soda. Shang went to get Yogurtland and gave me the pretty white spoon that everyone seems to be obsessing over. We came back and gave Susan her strawberry milkshake, which I must say looked pretty good, even though I’d sworn never to have another milkshake sometime during the end of the summer. I took a nap and snored. Then woke up and hung out and talked to Lilly for a bit in Kevin’s room and then went to dinner around 7:15. The three full meals I had today makes me happy. We sat with Bruce, Cece, and April and another April, who’s a fourth year resident in Middle. Cece and April got pasta and put them in non-Tupperware containers and smuggled them out. Shang wanted chicken tenders and went to get some. He asked for 8, but they only were allowed to give 4. He came back and was eating one and asked for more, and they were all, oh he’s back! and gave him 5, and one dropped and they immediately offered him another. I’m so jealous he has so many friends and everyone loves him. We went to Oakenshield later and hung out for a bit on their pretty carpet and Shang worked out lifting some 3-lb dumbbells with safety straps. I left early and took and shower and Hassan came and hung out with us because apparently we’re not just his residents anymore, but his friends. That makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside, which reminds me that it isn’t too pleasant when I’m opening my eyes after I’ve rinsed off some shampoo to see a hand creeping into the shower. That’s just scary. It’s 4:30 am now and I’m trying to not get any more behind in writing, but it’s not working too well right now. Kevin is a light sleeper.

La Hora Oficial en los Estados Unidos Mexicanos

La Ley de Husos Horarios, publicada en el DOF el día 29 de diciembre del 2001, establece la Hora Oficial en un punto determinado del territorio nacional en función de la posición geográfica.

Así mismo, define las zonas horarias y la forma en que se relaciona la hora en cada zona con la hora del meridiano cero.

Cabe indicar que la hora del meridiano cero está determinada por la escala de tiempo denominada Tiempo Universal Coordinado, UTC. Es oportuno indicar que la escala de tiempo UTC es generada por la Oficina Internacional de Pesas y Medidas (BIPM), que es una escala de tiempo para propósitos científicos y que es virtual (no existe una señal física asociada a dicha escala).

En México la realización física del UTC está a cargo del Centro Nacional de Metrología la cual es denominada UTC(CNM).

El 4 de junio del 2007 en el Diario Oficial de la Federación (DOF) se publicó el establecimiento del Patrón Nacional de Escalas de Tiempo, a cargo del Centro Nacional de Metrología, el cual define el valor numérico de la Hora Oficial en los Estados Unidos Mexicanos en términos del UTC(CNM).

Por otro lado, la Ley Federal sobre de Metrología y Normalización (LFMyN) establece que el Sistema General de Unidades de Medida es el único de uso legal en el país, y que está integrado entre otras, por las unidades de medición de base o derivadas que apruebe la Conferencia General de Pesas y Medidas (CIPM), o aquellas que apruebe la Secretaría de Economía.

La escala de tiempo UTC es reconocida por el CIPM como la referencia para el establecimiento de la hora en cada uno de los husos horarios internacionales.

El Buró Internacional de Pesas y Medidas (BIPM) tiene la responsabilidad de generar la escala UTC.

Es importante indicar, sin embargo, que dicha escala es el resultado de un proceso matemático por lo que no hay señal física alguna que defina de manera única dicha escala.

Esto último implica que no es posible la aplicación directa del UTC en los procesos de sincronía.

Por lo anterior, se requiere la “materialización” del UTC en cada nación, a fin de utilizar dicho patrón como referencia para la generación de la hora oficial. En México, el Centro Nacional de Metrología, CENAM, materializa la escala UTC. Dicha materialización es reconocida a nivel internacional como UTC(CNM).

La Hora Oficial en los Estados Unidos Mexicanos es la materialización de las escalas de tiempo que rigen en el territorio nacional y corresponden a la realización del UTC en nuestro país.

El CENAM, como lo indican sus atribuciones en la LFMyN, establece el patrón nacional de escalas de tiempo, u hora oficial, y la Secretaría de Economía lo reconoce como tal (publicación del DOF del lunes 4 de junio del 2007), en virtud de la atribución que la LFMyN le otorga.

La Hora Oficial en los Estados Unidos Mexicanos está definida en términos del UTC(CNM) de acuerdo a las siguientes relaciones:
i.   Tiempo del centro = UTC(CNM) – N

ii.  Tiempo del Pacífico = UTC(CNM) – (N+1)

iii. Tiempo del Noroeste = UTC(CNM) – (N+2)

Donde N es 6 horas para el horario de invierno y 5 horas para el horario de verano.

El Horario de verano se aplica del primer domingo de abril a las 2h00 de la mañana al último domingo de octubre a las 2h00 de la mañana.

Sincronía de sistemas de cómputo vía internet con el UTC(CNM)

El Centro Nacional de Metrología, CENAM, mantiene en operación servidores de tiempo a efecto de transferir la exactitud del UTC(CNM) vía Internet. Para sincronizar equipos de cómputo vía remota, automática y gratuita con el UTC(CNM) se requiere de los siguientes acciones:

Une plateforme pédagogique pour la gestion de crise

Le semestre dernier (Printemps 2009) j’ai eu l’occasion de travailler en groupe sur une étude expérimentale en collaboration avec le laboratoire Heudiasyc du centre de recherche de l’UTC et en partenariat plus ou moins formel avec le ministère de la Défense.

Ce projet, nom de code SIMSECUR, concernait la mise en place d’une plateforme pédagogique sous forme d’environnement virtuel temps-réel pour la formation des chefs d’intervention opérant au sein des troupes d’élite (GIGN, GIPN, etc.).

Mon groupe de projet était constitué de notre suiveuse au sein du laboratoire Heudiasyc, Madame Domitile Lourdeaux, et de quatre collaborateurs étudiants utcéens comme moi : Mathieu Martel, Sebastien Frys, Camille Barot et Gabrielle Le Bihan.

L’objectif de cette étude expérimentale était de mettre en place les premières briques de cette plateforme pédagogique en implémentant un premier environnement virtuel temps-réel avec son scénario pédagogique, l’ensemble étant réalisé sous Virtools (logiciel de réalité virtuelle édité par Dassault Systèmes) et faisant l’objet de la version de démonstration de l’outil.

Le projet s’articulait de la manière suivante :

1/ Création d’un “plugin” Virtools (appelé Building Block) afin d’y intégrer des fonctionnalités multi-touch non présentes nativement

2/ Concevoir un environnement virtuel 3D embryonnaire (modélisation 3D d’un environnement quelconque) auquel on ajoute un ensemble de personnages manipulables par l’utilisateur et pouvant interagir fortement avec cette environnement (actions sur l’environnement)

3/ Créer un premier scénario mettant en scène une intervention des forces d’élite et durant laquelle l’utilisateur apprenant doit remplir un certain nombre d’objectifs simplistes (découverte de zone, évacuation d’otage, etc.)

Un environnement virtuel contrôlable entièrement avec du multi-touch

Mais là où nous aurions pu nous arrêter à ces spécifications et nous contenter de la souris et du clavier comme seul moyen d’interaction, il nous a semblé intéressant de travailler sur les fonctionnalités tactiles, et plus particulièrement sur le multi-touch, et de les intégrer à notre environnement virtuel.

Ce choix a été justifié principalement pour deux grandes raisons. La première, c’est que cela constituait un sujet d’étude vraiment très intéressant et très innovant pour nous, à l’heure où l’on entendait de plus en plus parler du futur nouveau système d’exploitation de Microsoft, Windows 7, et de son intégration du multi-touch en natif. La deuxième, c’est tout simplement que cela allait permettre à notre outil de prendre une toute nouvelle dimension, le rendant ainsi beaucoup plus attrayant, plus immersif et donc plus intéressant expérimentalement parlant.

La grande problématique était alors d’intégrer ces fonctionnalités multi-touch au sein même de Virtools que nous utilisions pour concevoir notre environnement virtuel et sur lequel il s’exécutait. On ne pouvait en effet pas toucher au noyau de Virtools, car propriétaire. Il nous fallait donc trouver une autre manière d’intégrer un comportement non natif au sein de Virtools : le Building Block. Un Building Block (ou BB en abrégé) est en fait un composant additionnel de Virtools conçu pour venir pallier à un manque dans les composants de base de ce dernier. Il se présente sous le forme d’une DLL, contenant un template (appelé aussi Wizard) permettant à Virtools de communiquer avec elle et définissant des entrées et des sorties, et qui vient ensuite se greffer à Virtools en la plaçant dans le dossier indiqué “Building Blocks”.

Restait à pouvoir capturer ces événements multi-touch au sein de cette DLL et envoyer les différentes informations les concernant vers Virtools afin qu’il puisse les interpréter (zoom? pan? rotation? etc.). Pour cela notre plateforme de développement s’appuie sur plusieurs choses.

Tout d’abord au niveau matériel :

- un portable HP TouchSmart tx2 (premier portable avec écran multi-touch)

- windows 7 RC comme OS de base (seul capable de gérer des événements multi-touch)

Niveau technique, nous avons utilisé le procédé du Hook pour intercepter les événements multi-touch émis par Windows 7 et les transmettre à Virtools.

Setelah browsing sana-sini, tahu lah saya gimana cara  setting UTC, berikut sedikit informasi buat sesama Blogger baru pengguna WP.

• untuk Indonesia wilayah barat ( sumatra – jakarta) , setting waktunya UTC+7
• untuk Indonesia wilayah tengah ( bali, borneo, ujungpandang) settingnya waktunya UTC+8
• untuk Indonesia wilayah timur ( irian jaya ), setting waktunya UTC+9

Si je pouvais faire ce putain de deal with God, je suppose que je lui demanderais trop de choses. D’abord, supprimer toutes les discriminations envers les homos, et ensuite, plein de choses pour moi. Que je réussisse mes UV sans trop de travail, que je sois plutôt riche, que je sois beau, que je sois plus fort, que je tienne mieux, enfin plein de choses existentielles inutiles mais pourtant obsédantes.

Et bizarrement, c’est toujours ces choses, ces questions, qui vous pourrissent un moral en moins de deux. Je vais pas développer, c’est mon blog, certes, mais c’est pas encore devenu ce qu’il était avant, à savoir une étalage de dépressions, de mauvais moments. Il y en aura des touches, personne ne se sent toujours bien. Mais il n’y en aura pas à outrance.

Tout va pour le mieux, ou presque. L’emploi du temps est correct, aménagé un peu par mes soins (Oui, j’ai reçu un mail de l’administration qui me changeait de TD…) et agrémenté de perms au Polar et de soirées avec GayUTC. D’ailleurs, demain, direction le Dékalé  à 20h pour aller prendre un verre avec l’asso. C’est tranquille, on va se reposer un peu après l’intég’. C’est sûr qu’enchaîner les soirées, rentrer arraché à 4h du mat’ et se lever vers 7h, c’est difficile. Alors maintenant, on calme le jeu.

D’ailleurs, le WE nous a bien assassiné la tronche. L’après midi à la plage au Touquet et la soirée à la piscine-discothèque, ça se tient et normalement, ça te détruit pas la gorge, les cordes vocales, les oreilles et cie. Mais la nuit en camping sauvage avec une température avoisinant les 5°, si. Alors le lendemain, paye ta voix glamour au possible pour parler au nouveau mignon & timide. Génial, je te le dis moi ! Mais ne vas pas te dire que c’était de la merde, c’était géant.

Voilà, je crois que je ne peux pas ajouter grand chose, j’ai ajouté quelques critiques à TRTN, c’est à aller voir si tu as le temps.

American Electric Power (AEP) (s AEP), one of the largest generators of electricity in the U.S., told the Federal Communications Commission today during a workshop on smart grid technology that “dedicated licensed spectrum is sorely needed by utilities.” In other words AEP supports the idea of having the government allocate wireless spectrum specifically for utilities to use for smart grid purposes. This would mean either restricting that spectrum to a few select groups, or making it completely off limits for other types of companies and organizations working on things other than smart grid technology.

The argument behind this call from AEP is that as utilities roll out more and more smart grid services, the utilities will need more and more network bandwidth. The fear for some utilities is that heavy use of unlicensed, undedicated wireless spectrum — which can be used by any company if they follow specific rules for using the spectrum — could lead to interference between their smart grid applications and other groups’ uses of the network. In AEP’s presentation for the FCC it wrote: “Dedicated spectrum is much less likely to receive interference and has a remedy procedure if interference is experienced.”

It’s not a new idea. The Utilities Telecom Council, a trade group made up of utilities and grid vendors, has been advocating for years that utilities “must have access to dedicated radio spectrum.” In the face of all the attention on the smart grid buildout the UTC has increased its efforts to obtain dedicated spectrum for utilities calling for about 30 MHz of spectrum. Canada has allocated about 30 MHz of spectrum for its power grid, and the UTC argues that the U.S. should do the same.

AEP also said to the FCC that it agrees with the UTC in that the U.S. should harmonize utility smart grid wireless spectrum with Canada and block out 30 MHz. AEP writes: “Common spectrum allocation with Canada supports economies of scale for equipment and service providers lowering overall cost of ownership to utilities and ultimately lower rates to rate payers.”

Many tech vendors, particularly those that sell wireless gear that uses unlicensed spectrum, say interference is not a significant issue and that smart software solved this problem years ago. Other companies, particularly those selling wireless gear that uses licensed network spectrum, maintain that interference is a reasonable problem for smart grid applications in unlicensed spectrum. It’s enough of a problem that the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) told the National Institute of Standards in a report that it should put together a group to study the issue of interference in unlicensed radio spectrum for smart grid applications.

Aceşti virili ai audiovizualului ce se produc seară de seară în şuete interminabile pe ruta Antena1 cu oprire-n halta Antena2 şi cu destinaţia finală Antena3 mai au şi ei momentele lor de impotenţă. Să ne aducem aminte de mascarada de la Congresul PC, unde tovarăşul Voiculescu şi-a impus în direct candidatul favorit, încălcând statute şi regulamente în cel mai bolşevic mod cu putinţă. Atunci pisoii războinici s-au ascuns după coada motanului şi au tăcut mâlc. După care legiunea lui Felix motanul şi-a reluat din nou atacurile anti Băsescu. Acum, nu că nu ar avea şi pe cine ataca, doar că putem spune că cine se critică se şi aseamănă. Între flăcăii lui Voiculescu şi Traian Băsescu există ca numitor comun mârlănia şi golăneala. Până la urmă nimic nu este întâmplător, aşa cum au răzbit în politică prin stilul golănesc politicieni precum Traian Băsescu, era de aşteptat ca şi presa să scoată în faţă oameni de aceeaşi teapă. Din tot acest decor bogat nu putea lipsi, pentru că, nu-i aşa, nu este zi lăsată de sus fără vorba peltică a maestrului pitic, Ion Cristoiu. Pe vremuri, piticul vrăjitor de la Evenimentul Zilei, un fel de OTV în variantă scrisă, inventa tot felul de năzdrăvănii de presă deschizând drumul presei tabloid în România. Acum s-a convertit în marele analist, moralist, scriitor, într-un cuvânt, în guru presei româneşti. Călugării spun că omul când se dedă poftelor şi viciilor îl hrăneşte pe fratele său porcul. Maestrul sătul şi ghiftuit poate acum predica ore-n şir la modul peltic şi tihnit fraze înţelepte despre politică şi nu numai.

Dacă în sufrageria lui Voiculescu zburdă pisoii, nici bucătăria lui Vântu nu e săracă în tot felul de gândaci. Corul lăudătorilor băsescieni, nefiind în opoziţie, se manifestă mai puţin agresiv, având de ridicat doar imnuri de slavă conducătorului iubit. Fauna trustului condus de Vântu este şi ea bogată în totul felul de specimene. Aici îl putem revedea pe omniprezentul Mihai Tatulici, cel care a minţit poporul cu televizorul de au ajuns românii să-şi pună toate economiile la Caritas, joc pe care marele deontolog l-a promovat orbeşte în cârdăşie cu iniţiatorul escrocheriei, Ioan Stoica. Fostul activist UTC şi PCR s-a reciclat ca mulţi alţii după 1989, pozând acum într-un mare moderator de dezbateri democratice. Dintre politrucii mai vechi, care acum se prezintă ca politologi de mare anvergură, răsare şi Iosif Boda, un alt oportunist politic, ajuns acum la senectute un fel de Cicero de Dâmboviţa. Emil Hurezeanu sau mai bine zis Huzureanu completează trupa de grei de la trustul lui Vântu, acolo unde tânărul cabotin parvenit Turcescu face presă la modul la care poate doar Scânteia îl mai făcea. Toţi aceşti analişti sunt adevărate stafii ale lui Brucan. Unii îl întruchipează pe Brucan cel tânăr, carieristul în stare de orice pentru a parveni, inclusiv de propagandă bolşevică, iar alţii pe cel convertit la bătrâneţe în mare apologet al capitalismului şi al democraţiei.
