Introduction

SharePoint is a collaboration and content management platform. SharePoint is used mostly when required information is distributed. Microsoft came with SharePoint Team Foundation Service in 2001 then Windows SharePoint Services [WSS] v2 in 2003 and WSS v3 in 2006 along with MOSS 2007.

SharePoint Architecture

WSS 2.0 was integrated with IIS 6.0 and ASP.NET 1.1 using an ISAPI filter DLL, which resulted in IIS routing requests to WSS before ASP.NET. That routing could be problematic in certain situations because WSS takes control of an incoming HTTP request before it has had a chance to be properly initialized with ASP.NET context. But ISAPI filter had challenges like adding custom HTTP handlers, modules, user controls or changing execution process.

Microsoft came with wide change in the fundamental architecture with WSS v3. Major contributor is ASP.NET 2.0 which comes with some features and functionality which can be customized by users. Another important fact is introduction of virtual path provider with ASP.NET 2.0, where the files and directories are managed by a data store other than the file system provided by the server’s OS. Developer can provide custom provider to customize source of requested file.

 WSS v3 came with custom HTTP application, handlers, and modules; and route all request of SharePoint site through ASP.NET 2.0. The custom virtual path provider used in SharePoint through library Microsoft.SharePoint.ApplicationRuntime.SPVirtualPathProvider. SPVirtualPathProvider supports SharePoint concept of page customization. These topics are discussed later in the document.

WSS v3 relies upon .NET Framework 3.0 [WF, WCF and partly WPF].  The stack architecture of SharePoint can be defined as shown below

This architecture help SharePoint all the features of ASP.NET 2.0 and .NET Framework 3.0.

WSS 3.0 and ASP.NET 2.0

WSS v3 is built on top of ASP.NET 2.0, All WSS 3.0 incoming request routes through the ASP.NET runtime before WSS.  This changed forced to remove the ISAPI filter which was used in previous version of WSS2.0 and adding HTTPModules and HTTPHandlers that are registered with ASP.NET using standard web.config entries. This means that incoming HTTP requests always enter the ASP.NET runtime environment and are fully initialized with ASP.NET context before they are forwarded to the code that carries out WSS-specific processing.

Following are the overview on integration between ASP.NET 2.0 and WSS v3

1.       When you extend an IIS Web site to become a Web application, WSS 3.0 adds a wildcard application map to the IIS metabase. This map routes all incoming HTTP requests to the ASP.NET runtime regardless of file type (.pdf, .doc, .docx, and so on). ASP.NET then forwards the request to WSS for processing.

2.       ASP.NET 2.0 introduced a new pluggable component type known as Virtual Path Provider.
WSS 3.0 has its own virtual path provider called SPVirtualPathProvider which is able to retrieve an .aspx page from SQL Server and hand it off to .aspx page parser supplied by ASP.NET 2.0. A separate component, PageParserFilter, lets SharePoint control how pages are parsed and compiled and what executes on those pages.

3.       ASP.NET 2.0 introduced a new powerful feature of page templates known as master pages. WSS3.0 sites have a special catalog known as a master page gallery containing a master page default.master and developer can add his custom master page also.

4.       WSS3.0 WebPartZone is a public sealed class called Microsoft.SharePoint.WebPartPages.WebPartZone, which inherits from System.Web.UI.WebControls.WebParts.WebPartZone.

5.       WSS3.0 WebPart inherits from an abstract base class called Microsoft.SharePoint.WebPartPages.WebPart, which inherits from System.Web.UI.WebParts.WebPart.[webparts developed in WSS v2 are compactable with WSSv3]

Conclusion

This document is just introduction on SharePoint architecture and most of the functions and features are described briefly.

In my previous post I described how to get a EE6 web application using the ZK3.6.3 framework on Glassfish V3. I noted while redeploying or undeploying the web-application it made the GF instance plus the JVM crash (running Ubuntu 9.04,9.10 and JDK 1.6.b16).

This problem does NOT exist anymore with the latest build from last week. Make sure you update to build b72. Start the updatetool in glassfish-home/bin. (you might have to start it several times, I got several times time-out errors, or better click on the reminder if you choose the automatic update check feature).

Me parece interesante que ayer, en el programa V3, de Multimedios Televisión, vi una entrevista con el Vampiro Canadiense y estubo muy buena a continuación, les anexo una parte de lo que ocurrio:

• El Vampiro Canadiense, ex luchador ídolo de los 90´s en México estuvo anoche de invitado hoy es un hombre renovado, luego de estar atrapado en la fama y las drogas.
• Billy Ian Hodgkinson confió que la fama es falsa, no existe, porque él no disfrutó su época de gloria y nunca entendió por qué lo amaron tanto si siente no era un hombre bueno

• Además su imagen no era tan suya, él fue guardaespaldas de Milli Vanilli y de ellos copió usar pañoletas y extensiones con trenzas que tanto gustó a sus fans.
• ¿No se esperaban esto en la entevista?, preguntó El Vampiro Canadiense
• Recordó la locura que vivió al llenar la Arena México en casi 40 ocasiones y actuar ante más de 30 mil personas y todos vitoréandolo, eso era difícil de comprender. Llegó a luchar 37 veces a la semana y en días locos se aventaba 12 luchas al día, seguro sólo tolerable con la droga.
• Era ir de un avión a otro, de una ciudad a otra. Recordó en una ocasión que luchó tanto se le fracturó una pierna, el promotor le dijo perdóname, pero al momento recapacitó:
• “Me dijo, perdóname, madres te faltan dos luchas más. Me inyectaron algo en la rodilla e hice las otras dos luchas, pero así era. Después de eso me encerré en mi habitación, me rape el pelo y le llame para decirle no me llames más”.
• El Vampiro Canadiense permaneció encerrado por un año y fue que decidió algo debía hacer con su vida. Hoy pertenece a la asociación Angeles Guardianes que ayudan a jóvenes de zonas marginadas y son encauzados a servicio comunitario y apoyan a las autoridades para limpiar las calles de vandalismo y se les aleja de las drogas.
• Hoy Ian es el ángel guardian, aunque no se puede olvidar la magia que dejó en el pancracio como El Vampiro Canadiense…

Motorola Droid

Recently, Verizon and Motorola (and perhaps Google) have struck back at Apple Inc.’s iPhone with a “Droid Does” ad campaign that highlights many of the lacking features of the iPhone. It’s a pretty cleaver ad that parody’s Apple’s own cutesy iPhone ads (check below). The ads have recently popped up during the MLB postseason and a lot over this past weekend during NFL football. According to cell phone megasite Boy Genius Report, the Motorola Droid is the best Google Android handset to date.

It’s been about 2 years since the original iPhone came out and there have been many who have claimed to be THE “iPhone Killer” yet none have actually lived up to the moniker in terms of sales or usability (the usability can be debate with the Palm Pre and my current favorite Android handset in the US, HTC’s myTouch). Whatever opinion you may have about Apple Inc., there is no doubt to the fact that Apple forever changed the mobile cell phone industry with their iPhone and its exclusive U.S. deal with AT&T. For Verizon, it is clear that this one single phone from Apple has been a pain in their ass despite being the superior mobile network over AT&T. Whatever you believe about the deal that didn’t happen between Verizon and Apple back in 2007, the fact is Verizon did not get the iPhone and has been looking that signature phone ever since. Verizon put their eggs in the basket before by touting the Blackberry Storm as the “iPhone Killer” and the result was a mediocre at best for both Blackberry and Verizon.

For Motorola and Google, the success of this phone is not only important from a business standpoint but in many ways revenge towards Apple. Google and Apple recently had a fallout that resulted in Google CEO Eric Schmidt resigning from Apple’s board of directors and there is the ongoing saga of rejection of Google Voice from Apple Inc.’s App Store. Those who have been following Google probably saw the collision course with Apple was inevitable when Google released the Android OS for mobile technologies and when they announced the Chrome OS for computers – territories that both Apple compete in. As for Motorola, their cell phone division went from having the hottest phone in the world (the RAZR V3) to barely surviving in less than a decade. Apple did partner with Moto to release an iTunes-enabled phone that was both a sales disaster and innovative failure for both companies. Apple ditched Moto and created the iPhone while Moto failed to be relevant. There have been industry whispers that indicate Google having a direct hand in production of Moto’s Droid handset. The Tripartite Pact between Verizon, Google, and Motorola is a clear shot for vindication.

My take? I like my iPhone, but seeing the huge jailbreaking community only verifies the lacking capabilities of the iPhone. In other words, the iPhone could do so much more. Plus the big elephant in the room is AT&T. God I have no idea how I have been an AT&T customer for 10 years now, but damn I can’t take it anymore. I don’t need to elaborate further, just Google it yourself and you will see the dissatisfaction with AT&T among iPhone customers. The exclusive deal with AT&T has to end not only because AT&T sucks but because it will help Apple achieve further sales success. It’s only smart economics. I also like what Android brings to the table, and hopefully the Moto Droid does some innovative things to perhaps force Apple to innovate further and faster (c’mon Apple is clearly holding back). I don’t know if the latest Verizon campaign dampens the possibility of the iPhone going to Verizon, but please get this phone on there.

Would I get the Moto Droid? Let’s put it this way: Verizon = Awesome, Google = Very Awesome, Moto = uh…

Yep, Moto is the weak link in this Tripartite Pact and I’ll hold my judgment until this things come out. If HTC made the phone, I’d jump it no question. Moto just makes me hesitate and I have a wait and see approach right now.

What is for sure?…Windows Mobile sucks. Big time.

We’ve just finished a week of recording for our next album (working title “V3″). We put about 15 songs down so plenty to choose from . I like Colplay’s maxim that an album should have no more than ten songs…so some work to do.

Sáng hôm qua là lần thứ hai tôi phải dùng đến phần mềm chat trên điện thoại để liên lạc với chị trưởng phòng xin nghỉ làm một buổi, lần trước là xin đi trễ do kẹt xe, cả hai lần tôi đều không gọi điện được cho bạn chung phòng để xin dùm.

Cách đây 2 năm, kể từ khi tôi dùng con V3, tôi đã tìm ra một trang web cho phép tải rất nhiều ứng dụng cho điện thoại di động hỗ trợ Java, từ ứng dụng chat cho đến các ứng dụng gọi điện thoại VoIP, lướt Net, đặt password..v…v…rất nhiều. Đặc biệt là mỗi phần mềm giới thiệu trên website này đều có nhiều phiên bản dành cho các model điện thoại khác nhau, hiện tại thì gần như nó hỗ trợ tất cả các dòng điện thoại.

O monstro cobra aparece no episódio 5 de Kamen Rider V3, para a sua época (1973) até que é legalzinho. Problema que o ator não consegue se mexer na fantasia, que deveria ser bem dura. E quando ele aponta sua metralhadora para V3, ele para e fica com medo, depois vem um Kick daqueles. Agradeço muito a quem esta legendando essa série.

Para concetar tu celular razr V3 a tu PC necesitas instalar los drivers del celular y un programa llamado P2k-Tools. Con esto ya deberías tener accesibilidad a tu celular V3 y poder bajar o subir tus vídeos, música, archivos, juegos, etc.
