Ainda não entendi toda a histeria em torno do pessoal-chupa-sangue e confesso que não tinha visto o filme antes nem assisto True Blood e The Vampire Diaries por puro medo – é bem capaz que eu não durma ou tenha pesadelos depois. Beijonãomemorde.

While I was watching it with my girlfriend I wonder to myself …who would win in a fight Kain or Vamp ,Tricky one huh? Both are bad asses and both have the craziest powers. If you’re undecided then ill bring on some facts to help you

In the red corner we have VAMP

Born in Romania, Vamp lost his entire family in a church bombing in which he was pierced by a crucifix and buried in the rubble next to his parents. In order to survive, Vamp fed off of the blood of his family; this is how he acquired a taste for blood. According to Solid Snake, his name is not a reference to his vampire like behavior, but to the fact he is bisexual

A legendary character in the metal gear solid series. Debuting in metal gear solid 2 as the ”immortal” vampire you could not take down .Tricks from running up on walls , dancing/fighting on water , holding his breath for a looong time , effortlessly balancing on railings and on top of that deadly fighting skills.Vamp proved to be difficult opposition for snake , but his rivalry with the character Raiden is the most famous.

In the Blue corner we have KAIN

An arrogant noble murdered and revived as a vampire, Kain embarked on a crusade to kill his assassins and then be restored to human form. When he came to revere his powers, Kain turned his back on his prophesied duty and became a vampire lord ruling over the land. Kain’s attentions later turned to averting his destined doom at the hands of his lieutenant Raziel. Kain has the power of the dark gift , giving him mystical powers like turning into a mist form and nearly being invisible .When he drinks another vampires blood he gains their power , powers like jumping great distances  influencing the weak willed , super speed and telekinesis .all that = bad-assness.

Entertainment Weekly recently reviewed The Twilight Saga:  New Moon – what grade did the movie get and do you agree?

The production itself, directed by Chris Weitz (The Golden Compass) from a script by Melissa Rosenberg, is fan-ready and saga-solid. Weitz goes for an appealing, slightly old-fashioned look, one in which the near-
constant rain nicely mirrors Bella’s internal weather conditions. (As embodied by Stewart, she’s one pained and stormy chick.) Pattinson looks, to these post-teen eyes, even more to-die-for, with his red lips, amber eyes, and major hair. I wish Jacob, endowed with Lautner’s lithe bod and Matt Damonesque grin, had more of a chance with Bella. But, well, book readers know best what happens next in Eclipse. Everyone else can catch up on screen next year. Guaranteed, it will still be raining in Forks, Wash. B+

To explain “New Moon” the film, you not only must compare it to the books but to the style and praise of the previous film.

Disclaimer: I am not a critic, nor a genius, nor have I ever written a review. These are just my thoughts on the film. Just me talking about the pros and the cons. If for any reason you feel this doesn’t meet your standards then stop. I am just a fan of the books sense they’ve come out. I have read the books instantly as they came out after discovery the first novel Twilight from a friend. I read it before anyone had gone Vampire crazy, and before New Moon came out. So I have liked the novels a long time. Don’t get me wrong though, as much as I am satisfied with the plot line of the most of the novels I find the author disappointing.

The Author: Stephenie Meyer came and went like J.K Rowling. The author wrote a great story idea but the writing itself was nothing special. There are writing mistakes an experienced author would not make. Stephenie Meyer’s works aren’t master pieces by any standard of literary work. She got this far as J.K. has because she gave the public a nice plot line that made readers drool over pure romance. The same way that Romeo & Juliet are still read in modern times though not modern whatsoever. Yet, the author of Twilight progressively got worst. Lacking in keeping up with the true story she had started with and progressively developing into an almost different story by her fourth book. Change occurred as money in her wallet developed. The later books came solely for the money. After all she did say it herself that she only meant to write two novels and she ended up with four. Most of all I lost my respect entirely of her. Due to the fact that she  personally wrote a letter on her website telling fans of her distaste at the manuscript of Midnight Sun being released online by one of her people and basically telling the readers punishments will happen for it by her not finishing the novel and releasing the draft on her website for all eyes. This action of so outwardly blaming her loyal fans of which some refused to read it even though they could. Shows the fact of how power-hungry she has become to lose track that these people  are devoted to supporting any action taken by her then to just be kicked in the gut for having done absolutely nothing. Plus, it was clearly her fault for the release for trusting the wrong people.

Twilight: My review of twilight the novel. I give it five stars. The characters felt real, relate-able, and consistent. The writing was neither completely poor nor amazing. It was very average like when a friend ask you to read something they wrote. It was properly written and is definitely for a young person that could not acknowledge mistakes. It was written rather childishly, like an adolescent wrote it, which makes it in essence easier to relate to Bella. Although Stephenie Meyer says it was written for  older crowd like individuals like herself, Twilight would not cut it. Most adults would not totally dismiss it, yet it would not have had as great a turn out as it had with the young adult readers. Overall, it is by far the best novel of the Twilight Saga. This is very bad for the rest of the books because they cannot meet up to the standards of the first novel.

New Moon: This novel is clearly the worst of the four novels to some and to others its just seems like a small stepping stone. This novel feels like it was a filler episode in the series.  It filled in some gaps and brought in some ideas for the future books but over all I feel it was a waste of time expect for a few expectations. If the novel had just contained the first bit with Edward and summarized Jacob’s developing character and had the final chapters of the novel it would be better. Basically keep the beginning, the end, and shorten the middle  a lot then this novel might just be ok. Reading this I just felt like get on with the point of the story already, I get it shes depressed move on already, and Jacob is ok but his no Edward. The thing is Edward made Twilight big no matter how you see it and New Moon containing very little Edward is well boring.

Eclipse: This book should have been the last one. It solves the resolution that had started in the first novel almost completely. Though something would need to be added to make this the end and make it amazing instead it wasn’t the last one. The novel seemed to drag on in the middle like New Moon yet it contained some more interesting facts. The end was thrilling, the beginning is forgetful because I literally can’t recall the beginning. Eclipse was nothing special, it was better than the second but still could not compare to the first. Most readers that I spoke to feel that the Bella everyone had fallen in love with in Twilight and people could relate to had become someone utterly different. I get that characters in novel can grow up and change to but this was a radical attitude change in the series. It just felt like a different person with the same name.

Breaking Dawn: By far the worst of the books in the series to most. This novel has the same character ideals of same names, vampires, werewolves, and fight for good. However this novel seems almost unrelated to the rest to the series. The main characters seem almost like strangers to fans of the series. The actions and plot line of the story are just out-of-place with the rest of the series that most people are disgusted to call Breaking Dawn the end of the Twilight series. This book is entirely like a filler episode to the climax. Then as the reader reaches the climax disappointment is waiting. Some of the ideas or passages of the novel are what the fans of Twilight had been waiting to see, yet with the personality change of characters, mainly Bella, made those passage unbearable to enjoy fully. The beginning plays with the exact answers to  that of the readers questions of  “what would happen if this happened.” The middle didn’t really make sense and seemed to be implemented for a shock effect. The end was a the biggest fail and disappointment for readers looking for a little more action.

Twilight the film: Disappointment. Comprehension that the novel can’t literally be brought to life but it was painful to watch almost. The acting by Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson was horrible. Neither of them can properly act. This is no surprise sense Catherine Hardwicke tends to favor actors and not properly look for actors that can act. The effects in the film were unimpressive and lacked realism. A lot of the details that made the novel famous were left out. Scenes were added that just wasted time in the movie and were pointless. The camera work was done poorly and overall failed in properly symbolizing what the novel was all about. Twilight basically had been butchered to shreds for fans of the novel.

New Moon the film: In comparison to Twilight, the film, New Moon was amazing. The effects were much smoother, there were more of them, the camera angles were nice, and it properly symbolized what the Twilight Saga is about. The actors of the first film were kept and brought down the movie. Due to the fact the worst actors in the film are the lead actors. However one lead actor stands out from the rest. Taylor Lautner was amazing. His acting skills carried the film and made the character Jacob look outstanding. Compared to the novel in which fans didn’t like not having as much of Edward in the film I feel better not having Robert Pattinson on-screen. His acting was literally a joke and Kristen Stewart is so emotionless and seems more like versions of  Keanu Reeves. The film kept very close to the novel, but the film brought the novel to life were the novel had failed. The fail was much more entertaining and accomplished in the areas that novel lacked. It had a much more concrete ideas of romance between Edward and Bella. It brought out the feelings of the novel while still being able to introduce the added plot-line of the werewolves and the Volturi. In the end it was a great film. It was better than Twilight the film and New Moon the novel.

Eclipse/Breaking Dawn the films: As the Twilight Saga rages through the media, I hope success on the future films, and wish for certain actors to get some talent, while the rest of the cast stays gifted in their roles. Much appreciation to the actors that play….

there are countless films about love, loss, and the confusion that those two emotions breed when together. countless. but this film, The Hunger, does it best.

the movie is expertly directed by one of the famous Scott brothers (Tony). It is able to truly show loss and love with what seems like little effort. the cuts in the first 10 minutes of the film alone are worth the price of the DVD, but it only gets more powerful as it goes on. David Bowie plays John, a jilted vampire lover who finds himself aging at an incredibly fast rate. his portrayal of a betrayed lover is moving. as the make-up piles on to make him look older and older, his eyes become the only thing that stays the same. those two glowing Bowie eyes. it is a shame that this film wasnt more of a commercial success, David Bowie proves that he is an expert actor who could not have been better cast. the whole range of sadness to anger that he shows only with his eyes is actually astounding. and some how, he plays his part in such a way that the viewer, or at least i, could identify with him. we all know what it is like to be lied to and used, but here, Bowie shows us how horrible it can be.

past Bowie though, the film is still a classic piece of artistic horror. Catherine Deneuve plays the lonely and immortal Miriam like she was born to play her. she is a dark and mechanical woman who has learned to shut off her ability to love after centuries of loss. this portrayal tore me in half through out the film. part of me wanted her to be punished for what she had made John and countless other go through, but the other part of me felt for her. she was just as much a victim as the others. her own immortality was a curse, she could never die with someone, only live past their body’s decomposition.  Susan Sarandon plays her character, Sarah Roberts,  with great artistry. her transformation from victim to hunter is terrifying. the cold look she gives in the very final scene of the film makes for one of the most unsettling moments in the film. in later years she has complained about the very last scene of the film, as has most of the cast and crew seeing as it was tagged on my the studio, but i still hold that it gives the film a far more horrific ending.

when Bowie’s character, John, and the other lovers rotting bodies, locked away in the attic, forgotten but always above Miriam’s mind, rise and exact their revenge, i almost cheered alone in my dark room. Tony Scott and the others associated with the film have all explained the movie in different ways. they have all given their own explanation for the ending, my explanation however is different.

i believe that John and the others never actually came out of their coffins int he attic, but that Miriam, after watching Sarah attempt suicide, realized all the pain she had caused would never end and that she would be alone forever, no matter how many other souls she trapped. i think it was that realization that drove her mad. the bodies didnt actually come out of their boxes, but their existence haunted her and drove her to fall from the staircase. the fall destroyed her body, and now, without the will to survive, she began her rapid decay. she had lived for countless centuries, so her decay happened faster than the others who were only a few hundred years old. after her death, Sarah boxed up the body and moved to London to live out the rest of her few century shelf life before she would age and decay like the rest.

the movie is beyond beautiful, and i hate that it is a forgotten gem. there is some talk of a remake, but i couldnt be less excited for it. the trio of actors, even the little girl who plays Alice, and Tony Scott were the perfect combination. no other line up could capture the magic like they did. and no other song than ‘Bela Lugosi’s Dead’ performed in the film live by Bauhaus could hold the same impact. instead of remaking the movie, the studio should invest in re-releasing this one. maybe this time someone will be paying attention. maybe this time people will see how honest and beautiful the film is.

Ma le prime attrici del muto non era­no così famose, e la figura della Diva nasce più tardi quando si sviluppa una feroce rivalità tra case cinematografiche. All’inizio l’associazione diva-donna fata­le non è automatica e la figura della fem­me fatale nascerà proprio in Italia dove le prime divine fisicamente erano morbide e  rotonde. I loro amanti invece erano magri, con gli occhi sprofondati nelle orbite o per meglio dire nel “gorgo della lussuria”. In seguito con Lidia Borelli e Francesca Bertini, la diva italia­na dimagrisce. Anche se l’immagine del­la donna lentamente cambia accanto a lei vi è sempre un uomo bruno, con bella dentatura, baffi nerissimi, volto magro e naso prominente.

Le trame dei film erano abbastanza scontate; se la grande amatrice assisteva a una parata militare un tenente dei lan­cieri, trafitto, cadeva da cavallo. Se visita­va una mostra di quadri un pittore capel­luto si inginocchiava davanti al­l’Ispirazione finalmente trovata. La di­dascalia recitava: «E l’amore divampò». Quando la fatalissima si stancava di un amante e decideva di liquidarlo, l’uomo di turno fremeva e sul telone bianco si leg­gevano dialoghi di questo tipo:

«Elena, Elena! Non mi ami più? Sei sazia di me, Elena?» — e lei — «Sì. Vattene!». Lui: «Barbara! Maledetta! Chi è il tuo nuovo amante?». Lei: «Signore vi disprezzo!». Lui: «Pietà, Elena! Pietà! Ho abbandonato mia moglie per te! Io ti bramo!». La didascalia informava che: «Tutto il passato risorge in lui». E sullo schermo risorgevano la moglie, i figli, la vecchia madre, e lo zio monsignore. Poi il duello, la morte e il riso schernitore della fatalissima. Il pubblico mitragliato da punti esclamativi, soffriva.

Nel ‘15 negli Stati Uniti arriva una ragazza europea bionda e rotonda. Ha un’aria goffa e si veste malissimo. Il suo nome era Greta Gustafsson. Viene messa a dieta: diventerà Greta Garbo. Il pubblico la vedrà quasi sempre recitare in camere da letto con baldacchini, lenzuola di seta, specchio sopra il letto, tendine svolazzanti anch’esse di seta.

Uscita dall’al­cova del set, la Garbo si sfilava in fretta i vestiti di scena (come quello costruito per Mata Hari costato 10.000 dollari e al quale avevano lavorato operaie per due mesi) e indossava una vecchia gonna e un maglione accollato, con un sospiro di sollievo. Sarà una delle poche attrici che sopravvivrà al sonoro.

Al suo pri­mo film sonoro i giornali annunciaro­no: «La Garbo parla». Le sue prime parole furono: «Dammi un whisky. Ginger ale a parte, e non fare il tir­chio, bimbo». La sua voce profonda e roca fu un successo. In occasione del suo primo film comico il nuovo slogan fu: «La Garbo ride». E la Garbo, per la prima volta, rise. Dopo il suo ritiro passava ore a ri­vedere i suoi film commentando­li ad alta voce e parlando di sé stessa in terza persona. «Guar­datela come si muove. Che as­surda pettinatura ha. Eccola, ora dirà così, farà questo».

Anche Marlene Dietrich è una ragazzina europea, grassoccia e affamata, che pensava a un marito come alla sistemazione più augurabile: «Non mi dispiacereb­be se possedesse una fattoria così che potessimo vivere in campagna ad allevare anatre, polli e maiali e non avere preoccupazioni». Diventa famosa con il film L’angelo azzurro, dove piantata a gambe di­varicate di fronte al pubblico, oppure seduta con le gambe accavallate, in­guainata nel pagliaccetto e nelle calze nere sorrette dalle famose giarrettiere, seduce l’anziano professore Unrath cantando con voce roca: «Io sono fatta per l’amore». Si racconta che per assu­mere quello sguardo intenso che la rese famosa il regista le dicesse: «Conta fino a sei e poi fissa l’obiettivo come se fosse l’unica cosa al mondo che desideri».

Marlene e Greta per gli statunitensi rimar­ranno sempre delle estranee, e non solo per il loro accento: sono scandalose. Greta non si sposa e Marlene è troppo ele­gante e spregiudicata.

All’avvento del sonoro l’aria intorno agli stabilimenti di Hollywood si fece pesante. Lunghe file di autocarri portavano le nuo­ve installazioni parlanti. Molte dive spa­rirono per insufficienza di voce. I produt­tori invece intravvidero nuove possibilità. Si aprì una nuova corsa alla ricerca di nuovi tipi a cui dare voce e presenza.

Ma la morte del cinema muto non portò via con sé la memoria delle vecchie dive, e a molti anni dalla loro scomparsa, rac­contano due giornalisti americani, a Hollywood: «Per cinque dollari si poteva comprare un piccolo scrigno di legno di sandalo che conteneva l’orlo di un’unghia di Mae West o una calza di Marlene Dietrich in una busta di cuoio, o ancora per soli quindici dollari un dente del giu­dizio di Greta Garbo. Queste erano vere e proprie reliquie. Non osavamo chiede­re i certificati di autenticazione: si tratta­va di documenti offerti alla fede, non alla critica».

Happy Robvember to one and all!

OMR, I think we all may just go into RobOverload by the time the premeire gets here.  I know I have begun the process already.

Yesterday, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner & Rob Pattinson were all over in Madrid for a fan event for Twilight Saga:  New Moon where they got to walk the red carpet and attend a photo call, as well.  Check out the awesome new pictures.

Don’t they all look great?  Kristen looked really pretty, I thought– but what’s up with the sheer square peice on the back of her skirt?  I give her credit for 1) wearing underpants unlike other celebrities out there & 2) coordinating the color of her underpants with her outfit.  Very stylish, very classy, too– but I’m sorry, there’s only one person (no names mentioned, I promise) who wants to see all that and I don’t think we’ll go there right now.  Let’s just use our imaginations, shall we?  Yes, we shall.

Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart Debate Team Edward Vs. Team Jacob

‘Come to the dark side!’ Taylor Lautner says, stumping for his ‘Twilight’ character.

It seems like the debate has been echoing around the Twi-verse forever, and it’s definitely not going to quiet down once “New Moon” arrives in theaters: Are you on Team Edward or Team Jacob? Do you fancy the smoldering teen vampire or the buff teen werewolf? Who should Bella Swan choose?

And, of course, you must choose! That goes for folks in the “Twilight” fanbase and the castmembers themselves. Everyone has to wade into this heated debate about supernatural, amorous longing.

Ms. Bella Swan herself, Kristen Stewart, views the choice between the vampire and the werewolf as one that pits your head against your heart. “For whatever reason, Bella is instinctually in need — I mean, can’t live without Edward,” she explained in an interview provided by studio Summit Entertainment. “So if I had something like that, that definitely would be what I went for because I wouldn’t have a choice.”

The easy way or the hard way? Making that call, Taylor Lautner said, depends on what type of person you are. “Team Jacob. Twilight & True Blood Set To Rule People’s Choice Awards

Vampires are set to rule the upcoming People’s Choice Awards – with blockbuster fantasy film franchise Twilight and blood-sucking U.S. TV series True Blood leading the nominations.

The public cast more than 18 million votes online to select the nominees for next year’s ceremony, and will also choose the winners in 35 categories.

The Twilight Saga will compete against Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and Star Trek in the favourite movie and favourite film franchise categories.

Stars Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner have earned nods for best on-screen team, joining fellow nominees Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson (Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince), Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds (The Proposal), Shia Labeouf and Megan Fox (Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen) and Hugh Jackman, Liev Schreiber, Ryan Reynolds, will.i.am, Dominic Monaghan and Daniel Henney (X-Men Origins: Wolverine).

Pattinson and Stewart were also nominated individually for favourite movie actress and actor, and will face-off against A-listers Brad Pitt, Hugh Jackman, Johnny Depp, Ryan Reynolds, Anne Hathaway, Drew Barrymore, Jennifer Aniston and Sandra Bullock in their respective categories.

Lautner is also up for breakout movie actor alongside Chris Pine, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Sam Worthington and Zachary Quinto.

Meanwhile, True Blood was nominated for favourite TV obsession and favourite sci-fi/fantasy TV show, where it will battle for the title against The Vampire Diaries, Heroes, Lost and Supernatural.

The show’s star Anna Paquin will fight it out with Blake Lively, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Katherine Heigl and Mariska Hargitay for favourite TV drama actress – while Hugh Laurie, Kiefer Sutherland, Mark Harmon, Matthew Fox and Patrick Dempsey compete for the title of favourite TV drama actor.

Musically, newcomers Adam Lambert, Demi Lovato, Kris Allen, Lady Gaga and reality TV star Susan Boyle will battle for favourite breakout music artist.

Eminem, Jason Mraz, John Mayer, Keith Urban and Tim McGraw will go head-to-head for the favourite male artist accolade, while their female counterparts include: Beyonce, Britney Spears, Carrie Underwood, Pink and Taylor Swift.

Queen Latifah will host the People’s Choice Awards at Los Angeles’ Nokia Theatre on 6 January, 2010.

“Fin da quando ero piccola avevo in testa l’immaginario della dive anni 50, un po’ retrò, con quei tratti esteriori accentuati, le giarrettiere, i bustini allungati con i reggicalze, insomma la guêpière con quei lacci chiusi sulla schiena, e poi le calze a rete, dettaglio fondamentale nel burlesque quasi una regola, i tacchi a spillo, i guanti, le movenze sensuali, lo sguardo, il trucco, i vestiti ammiccanti e seducenti. Ho ritrovato questo immaginario in rete scoprendo il burlesque, mi ha conquistata definitivamente ed eccomi qui all’Accademia del Micca”. Margot, perugina, è una delle cinque ragazze italiane che ha passato la selezione annuale per diventare una miss burlesque sul palco del Micca Club di Roma. Ora sta provando in attesa dell’esordio di lunedì.

Cosa è il burlesque? È una forma di intrattenimento sexy e glamour sulla falsa riga dello spogliarello, è la moda del momento, ma anche un revival perchè rimanda allo streap tease americano anni 50 importato dalla Londra vittoriana di fine ottocento. Dentro puoi trovarci anche atmosfere da vaudeville e cabaret tra Pigalle e Quartiere Latino, perchè il burlesque è uno spettacolo circense, da pantomima: sul palco si mischiano generi e stili, e le ragazze incarnano insieme la vamp, la femme fatale e la pin up. Non è lo spogliarello nudo e crudo, ma una performance. Sotto il vestito c’è un corpo diverso dalle modelle in carne (poca) e (molte) ossa, qui esplode la femminilità. Non importa che siano maggiorate, è la femminilità che viene amplificata. Il burlesque è uno spettacolo ricco di sorrisi e sfarzo, un paradosso visto che alle origini era definito come le foliès dei poveri, cioè povero rispetto all’intrattenimento colto come il teatro, proprio per la presenza delle donnine che si spogliavano.

Perchè Margot ha scelto il Burlesque? «È il ruolo che ricopri, se fossi stata una lapdancer sarei diventata un oggetto, qui invece sei tu che domini e giochi e guidi tutto quanto. E lo fai con ironia, con distacco. Non c’è strumentalizzazione. Il burlesque sta uscendo fuori dalla nicchia, spero non diventi commerciale, ma che rimanga speciale. Perchè è una rivincita al femminile. Oggi andare oltre il limite ha portato dei cambiamenti alle radici della sensualità. È necessario un ritorno controcorrente, qualcosa che sia riconducibile al passato, più naturale, questa è la vera trasgressione. Arrivati a certi livelli di estremità, a me il burlesque sembra un ritorno quasi necessario. Tutto è stato scoperto in questi anni, direi anche troppo». Una sensualità troppo schiacciata? «Sì, ora c’è bisogno di curve. Tra anoressiche e modelle magrissime, meglio il burlesque».

Chi c’è tra il pubblico del burlesque? «Ogni volta che sono andata a vedere gli spettacoli di burlesque mi sono ritrovata in mezzo a molte ragazze e a molte donne. Qui non si trovano in soggezione, al contrario degli altri streap. Perchè la donna sul palco gioca anche con le spettatrici, e viceversa. La donna si rispecchia. Vorrebbe essere anche lei così, semplice e naturale mostrando una sensualità forte. Ognuna di loro sogna di essere Dita Von Teese, e sanno che ognuna potrebbe tranquillamente esserlo». Dita Von Teese è la regina americana del revival del Burlesque, una donna molto ammirata per la sua bellezza, di recente Wonderbra l’ha scelta affidandole una collezione di corpetti. Ma il vestirsi burlesque non richiede molta preparazione? «Sì, certo, ma nel curarsi c’è molta più naturalità che nel darsi nuda e cruda».

A guidare l’accademia del Micca è Mademoiselle Agathe, francese, una donna esile a confronto con le misure generose del burlesque ma con charme da vendere, che sta organizzando anche il festival internazionale a dicembre, con star dal mondo anglosassone e Usa: «Nel burlesque non c’è volgarità ma ironia, non c’è gratuità, viene fuori una immagine molto positiva della donna. C’è l’istinto ma anche il senso dell’attesa dello spogliarello. Parla alle donne innanzitutto perché il vestito è stupendo e lo fa con una certa eleganza. La mia soddisfazione è quando vedi che le donne si interessano, e hanno voglia di rifarlo. Siamo troppo presi dalla tv e da quell’immaginario che si dice sexy ma in realtà è duro e meno naturale. Col burlesque prima mi vesto poi mi spoglio, finisco nuda è vero, ma lo faccio con stile, con una certa idea in testa. Il burlesque poi provoca un senso di emulazione molto forte, la gente si iscrive ai nostri corsi, abbiamo ricevuto richieste di serate anche dalla lontana Puglia». Che successo ha avuto in Italia il burlesque? «Qui a Roma, è un delirio, ma anche a Milano hanno una bella scena. All’inizio il pubblico non aveva capito che si poteva anche urlare, fischiare, insomma partecipare. Poi l’entusiasmo è arrivato da sè».

Urla e fischi fanno parte dello spettacolo, anzi sono delle regole classiche come le calze e le giarrettiere. Più si urla più la donna sul palco si spoglia. Il rumoreggiare del pubblico deve accompagnare tutti i passi dell’intrattenimento, in attesa dello spogliarello finale.

Per Grace Hall, romana, anche lei tra le cinque selezionate, il burlesque «ti elettrizza, ti manda in scena con un costume che esalta la tua femminilità, o il modello di femminilità con cui vuoi giocare, ma poi bisogna saper togliere proprio questo, senza rinunciare alla femminilità. Non a caso, si chiama arte dello spogliarello. Sono un’attrice, ho studiato danza e canto, e le forme di cabaret mi hanno sempre incuriosito. Il mese di casting, è stato rigoroso, c’erano tante altre ragazze, e per ognuna c’è stato un appuntamento». Cosa cerca Grace nel burlesque? «Oggi si è persa la voglia di stupire con una sensualità che è diversa da quella degli anni 90 con quelle donne dall’aria e dall’aspetto maledetto, androgine, fredde. Bisogna riscoprire il sorriso, la dolcezza, l’ironia che veniva esaltata nell’immaginario degli 50. La seduzione non è essere un oggetto, ma esserne partecipi. Le pin up come Bettie Page erano attive, lanciavano un messaggio di seduzione e di ironia. Il burlesque è differente da uno spogliarello classico dalla lap dance. La donna qui ha una fortissima complicità con lo spettatore. Senti le urla i fischi ma non sono mai volgari. E tutto questo piace soprattutto alle donne, vorrebbero essere lì al nostro posto. La donna si è bella che rotta le scatole di certi costumi. Ovunque ti giri per vendere qualsiasi cosa c’è un corpo nudo. Una figura passiva. Qua la donna è donna, il cento per cento della femminilità. La sensualità viene afforntata in diversi modi. Bisogna avere un talento, anche comico, immaginarsi dentro un movimento particolare, sensuale, studiato. Non è spogliarsi e sculettare e basta. È l’esaltazione della femminilità e l’uomo ti contempla, come dovrebbe essere sempre, mentre ora non ci si capisce più niente».

Per dare un’idea di come il burlesque abbia fatto breccia nelle donne, Mademoiselle Agathe, coccolandosi le sue ragazze, racconta che «quest’anno al casting molte ragazze sono arrivate preparate. Alcune a malincuore le abbiamo dovute lasciare fuori. Segno però che hanno avuto modo di vedere i filmati, imparare le movenze, immaginare uno spettacolo, darsi una indentità burlesque».

Per Alessandro Casella, stilosissimo direttore creativo, dj lounge e sixties, anima del Micca Club, non si tratta di una vera rivincita delle donne: «La rivincita è soprattutto su un certo tipo di donne che fanno lapdance, o che in teatro o in tv appartengono a una iconografia stereotipata. Il burlesque aiuta a sdoganare le misure che appartengono alla femminilità, come quelle di Dirty Martini: formosa, alta, una donnona insomma, ed è questo che fa esplodere i suoi spettacoli. Ho scoperto il burlesque in America andando a mettere i dischi. Era dieci anni fa. Mai avrei pensato di fare o vedere uno spettacolo così a Roma. Oltre all’accademia che forma delle professioniste, abbiamo aperto una scuola per tutti». E le donne tra il pubblico? «La spiegazione è semplice. La maggior parte dei chitarristi rock sono uomini. Loro non vedono più la donna oggetto, ma pensano: vorrei fossi io, a truccarmi così e sedurre così, facendo vedere poco se non con l’immmaginazione». E le parrucche, i corsetti e i frustini? «La donna non ha perso la sua femminilità nell’intimità, ma tu dagli un personaggio da interpretare, con cui giocare e vedrai. Non è un recupero di qualcosa che si è perso, il burlesque usa le armi che le donne utilizzano solo in privato».Ora però si va scena.

I was looking for a subject in my brain’s depths, and all I could hear inside my jellied mind was the echo of an abyss. When some weeks ago, as I was shopping at Atelier AM for my Mimikri post, I received a weird IM : “May I ?… I need blood, may I bite you?” What the hell was that?! A voice from hell precisely: a vampire called Eloindir.

My first reaction was to laugh, a bit too nervously maybe: I have never been into role playing games or other obscure existences in SL, except if you consider with a sure sharpness that the SL fashion world and the relationships between SL models themselves or agencies are nightmarish role playing games. But this Eloindir was so polite, asking for my precious fluid of life when he could just have gone for my throat like a wild creature, drained my veins, and made a wonderful necklace with some drops of my frozen blood… Yes he was such a gentleman that I decided to accept.

Well… I must say I did not feel anything special, while I had imagined something sultry like a scene from the Coppola’s Dracula. My kiss of Death was… short… very short. But as I would say to my rl lovers : “Length (double meaning) doesn’t matter”. The experience was new enough to be satisfying. Except I needed something in return. Come on! Now he had my non-expired blood running through his virtual dead body! I’m a shopaholic : you give money you get a dress, you give your blood, what can you get?… And here rang the bell! Halloween was at the end of the month (okay, now it’s over, but this is my usual french delay), I was looking for a post to succeed the one I was going to write about Mimikri: The next one would be something about vampires’ fashion.

Eoindir immediately accepted to be my male partner in fashion crime.

As I’m unused to SL male fashion, I read many blogs, and some will be adeed to Posh Pride’s blogroll as great sources of inspiration. I really wanted to avoid the pitfall of RP outfits because my vampire could not be dressed for a Halloween masked bal except if you turn “trick or treat” into “chic or thread”!

After a short glance to the Thierry Mugler’s male “défilé automne –hiver 2010” which was all in one theatrical, glamourous, and possible to wear (that’s the more important point!) I had the look of Eloindir in mind: A good balance between retro tendencies to remember the classic (has been?) image of vampires, and something looking more modern. My vampire could be a glam rockstar of nowadays playing outrageously with outdated and trendy codes. First, a jacket from a famous male store, but in red as a “clin d’oeil” for Mugler and cliched vampire’s stuff. Then, unusual pants (from a great crazy male designer, Cheerno Destiny) which evoke the 16^th European century (with the puffy legs), the 40’s (with the length under the knee), the 80’s (with their provocative humour) and a modern  audacity. Next, very old-fashioned shirt and tie, but totally trendy boots from Anexx.

For me it was of course easier: I had already my vision of the contemporary “ideal victim” look: in most folklores, the victim is the innocent young lady or the woman of easy virtue. Between the pure and the whore, I chose the first (contrary to all expectations). I imagined a very shy but totally fashionable student. A girl always dressed in B&W, intern in a local newspaper, and spending days and nights at the library. I wanted of course a white romantic dress for the idea of purity and innocence but I chose the “Dirty snow” outfit by Triangle Caudron and mixed it with my crow top from Milk Motion not to look too “well-behaved” and “smooth”. I added a black blazer and several items from the last Designers United event (which was a SL success) to highlight both her serious mind and her hidden knowledge of trends (I’m sure she has all the Elle magazines under her bed).

For my own vampire outfit, I just had to find the items which would fit the shape I had imagined for Eloindir : red tons on top, black and a bit puffy at hips’level…Here again, I did not want to loose my fashion mind in an outfit which would remember Halloween and not “Hell is In”. That’s why I avoided every places specialized in RP fashion, and only shopped in my usual stores, or used some of my closet’s items. More than being exactly the shape I was looking for, the “Night Love” jacket (from Leezu Baxter) had already the perfect name for my post’s subject, and the LeLutka skirt from the “Theo dress” was the good answer to the CheerNo pants of Eloindir. I authorized myself some gothic accessories (but always fashionable) wearing my succubus pumps from 69 (with their batwings and skulls details) and the “noir desire black widow” headpiece from La Gyo.

My interview with a vampire was over, and my neck a bit painful, but it had worth the trip. Because sometimes, fashion’s inspiration is hidden behind bushes we had not dared to approach…

For Eloindir: Thank you dear for having been such a patient model and friend in our crazy shopping’s and photoshooting’s sessions. I know you’ll bite me again if I don’t say that you’re not a simple vampire, but an elf-vampire. This will explain the size of the ears. As for when I bumped into rob rushing out of bathroom to try to make sure I didn’t miss any of his press conference….  I was like “OMG, I’m so sorry,” he laughed, I asked how he was hanging in there; he goes “Oh, man, I’m tired! I’m sort of hanging in there, I guess.”  Then he asked if I would be one of the people asking him questions, I said “Yes, I’m sorry I promise I’ll be nice” and he started cracking up and said he’d hold me to it. Robert Pattinson & Kristen Stewart’s Wild Ride

 

With Twilight, the young actors found themselves thrust into the spotlight. Now, while their characters are torn apart in New Moon, they couldn’t be closer.

Rob Pattinson’s and Kristen Stewart’s rooms sit side by side on the thirtysomethingth floor of the Sheraton Hotel in Vancouver (“the Couve,” as Kristen calls it), where they are filming Eclipse, the third installment of the Twilight saga. They spend a lot of time in their rooms in the sky — two Rapunzels of sorts entertaining themselves behind closed doors — because it’s really, really hard to go out. “There are like 15 different exits in this place,” observes Kristen of the tactics she and the rest of the Twilight cast use to avoid the paparazzi. She adds, “Rob is more frustrated with it, but he’s 23 and I’m 19. He had a couple more years to be an adult and to be independent, whereas just as I was getting to the age when it’s normal to go out by yourself …” She pauses. “But it’s boring because this is all I f*cking talk about.”

 

Rob talks about it too. “Do you mind if we sit outside?” he asks as he stands in his hotel room, looking longingly out the window. “I need some air.” It’s a cold, gray day, but who is to deny him some freedom? (And chivalry is not dead, girls. A young man will still lend you his jacket. Maybe because he is British.) Rob doesn’t just face paparazzi, he gets clawing, shrieking girls too. New Yorkers may remember he was clipped by a cab while fleeing from the ladies on the set of Remember Me this past summer. “But at least that’s an experience, something new,” he says. “If it’s just screaming — and I know this sounds so ridiculous — that gets old. But sometimes when there’s literal chaos, it’s like being in a war zone, and that’s kind of exciting. You’re just running through the crowd of people chasing after you and no one knows what’s going on.” Rob has laid low for a few days — a disturbance in the Force so great that Perez Hilton (home of some of Rob’s 15,200,000 Google hits) felt compelled to post, “Where is R-Patz?!” “If I’m not out, I’ve had a heroin overdose,” Rob observes. “It’s one thing or another.”

At the moment, there is only one thing anyone cares about regarding these two, who, as Twilight’s Bella and Edward, manifest all of our vampiric romance fetishes: Are they dating or what? Well … it’s clear that Rob and Kristen are close — very close. Okay, who is the most romantic then? “I have a no-bullshit detector,” says Kristen, “so I’d have to say Rob is. I think romance is anything honest. As long as it’s honest, it’s so disarming.” Rob chuckles when asked the same question. “Um, I don’t know. What did Kristen say?” You. “No. I’m better at faking.” This is followed by a very long laugh.The two first met at the 2007 auditions for Twilight, what they both assumed was going to be a cult vampire movie — not a $380-million-grossing global phenomenon complete with their own Barbies. They were thrown into a bedroom scene — well, a scene in a bedroom, anyway. “It wasn’t like we had to lie down together,” Kristen says, “but we were very reactive. We had a very responsive, palpable thing.” Robert notoriously took half a Valium beforehand. “I was calm and collected, and then we do this thing where we’re pretty much making out. I’ve since tried to do it at another audition, but it completely just collapsed.” He adds, “Kristen was very different from how I expected the girl who played Bella would be. I was kind of intimidated.”

Even though she was born and bred in chillaxed Los Angeles, Kristen is an intense young lady — and the shock of unruly black hair she currently has (a legacy from her role as Joan Jett in the upcoming The Runaways) does nothing to dispel that perception. Some Twilight fans were upset about their Bella turning into a noir-haired badass, but rest assured she’ll be wearing a wig in Eclipse. “I think it’s ridiculous that you need to look a certain way to be conventionally pretty,” she declares, then smiles, “but now that my hair’s grown out and shaggy, it sort of looks a little funny. I’ll admit that.” Kristen swears like a sailor and feels everything 200 percent. “She’s a unique girl,” says Rob simply. “You really don’t meet many people like Kristen.”

Today, in the hotel’s Constellation Suite, Kristen is sitting on the concrete terrace in her uniform of jeans, a white tank under another tie-dyed one, and a hoodie. “I’m like, fuck, I’m not wearing a neon-colored tube top or something pink,” she says, putting her at odds with many in her red-carpet, The Hills-ian peer group. Ask her who made her top and she has no idea. A look at the tag, though, reveals something called Born Famous Couture. She looks mortified, then cackles. “I did not buy this, I promise.”

Of the two, it seems Kristen wears the pants. (While she will admit to one girlish thing, a love of Chanel, her dream outfit is a custom Brooks Brothers suit.) When she ventures into a dress, it might just be covered in metal, like the Rock & Republic mini she wore to the Teen Choice Awards earlier this year. “Everyone was like, ‘Look at your spiky skirt!’” she says with a grin, “and I was like, ‘Spiky skirt? They were bullets, mofo!’” She gets some stick in the media for not suffering fools. “People think I’m trying to be rebellious, but that’s the last thing I’m doing,” she says. “But I would hate myself if I tried to satisfy the people who have a problem with the way I speak about myself, so it’s okay.”

“Kristen doesn’t take any slack,” Rob says. “She sticks to her guns — and that’s difficult to do.” He also thinks she’s a better actor than he is. “I don’t really know how to act. I’m kind of guessing everything. … Even though I can conceptualize stuff, she can actually do it. I can make something so complex and then be like, That was pout 27.” He reckons she’s a better judge of character too. “She’ll decide on someone a lot quicker. She has a lot more self-esteem than I do, so she’s like, ‘You’re an idiot and I don’t want to talk to you,’ and I’m like, ‘I’m an idiot too!’ So I’ll talk to an idiot for like three days before deciding.”

That handicap aside, Rob is gloriously handsome. The planes of his face work beautifully in 3-D, 2-D, probably 1-D too. But in person, he doesn’t have a whole lot of game. He is self-deprecating to a fault. (During the interview, he refers to himself as an idiot a half dozen times.) He also maintains, in all seriousness, that he’s never broken up with a girl; they’ve always broken up with him. “Eventually, the girl is like, ‘I know it’s got nothing to do with me. You’re an?…?idiot.’”

In the corner of Rob’s hotel room sits a stack of boxes. “Most of it is my dirty washing from New York,” he says shamefacedly. “I didn’t do any washing the whole time I was there. I just put it in boxes and shipped them up here.” When his clean laundry runs out, he steals socks and underwear from sets. I find a suspicious lump in his jacket pocket, which turns out to be a pair of black socks. “Oh, God!” he says, bursting out in laughter. “See? I’m a klepto.”

Famousness, it seems, hit Rob before he could coordinate his infrastructure. The most functional parts of his hotel room’s decor are a couple of guitars and a box of Ray-Bans. “Do you want a pair?” he asks, thrusting them into my hand. “I’ve got 16.” At least he’s prepared to withstand the glare of the spotlight. He chuckles and says, “My dad says he likes to bask in my glow.”

Rob might want to stash some of those sunglasses, because the excitement about next summer’s release of Eclipse, in which Bella and Edward get engaged, might, yes, eclipse New Moon. The tabloids are excitedly reporting that Rob and Kristen are “Engaged!” based solely on them calling each other “husband” and “wife” on set. So it seems only appropriate to hit them with a newlywed game of sorts…

 

Who spends more time on their hair?Kristen: “Rob.”

Rob: “I have weird personal-space issues, and so I can’t stand people — um, I’ll do anything to not have any touch-ups.”

Competitive?

Kristen: “Rob. In a very childish way, in every aspect of his life. He’ll literally start talking in a different voice if he’s won something. He sounds like a five-year-old.”

Rob: “I’d say it was even. She said me? Really? When I really win things, it’s just like…” [Kristen is correct: He makes a noise like a five-year-old.]

Athletic?

Kristen: “I’m definitely claiming that one. Rob can barely jump rope. I call him Flippy because when he does his stunt rehearsals, he flips around [makes a gesture like a penguin]. And, God, when he tries to run …”

Rob: “Kristen. You notice it in the film; she looks so much more athletic than I do. And I’m supposed to be the superhero.”

Egotistical?

Kristen: “I’d have to say him. I hope he says him too actually. Like every time he looks in the mirror and he twists his hair. Actually, he could give a fuck about his hair. I hope that sarcasm translates.”

Rob: “It’s kind of a tie. We’re both pretty proud people. Her ego is more solid than mine, but mine has soared to such peaks, it’s ridiculous. Mine’s more erratic, but it can get to a point when it’s, like, godlike. Only in my eyes, of course. Sometimes just when I say hello the right way, I’m like, Whoa, I’m so cool.”

Who Googles themselves more?

Kristen: “Rob.”

Rob: “She would say me, but I reckon it’s her. If either one of us catches the other one doing it, we’re like, Jesus Christ, is that what you’re looking at? And the other one’s on their phone pretending to text. I look up my competition more than she does. I’m incredibly shallow. I think she just looks at herself.”

Who’s the better musician?

Kristen: “Rob. He’s a great singer. Heartbreaking.”

The most outgoing?

Rob: “I was once, but not so much anymore. Kristen’s a little more open now.”

Better sport?

Kristen: “Who can hang? Definitely me. He’s very sensitive. He’s got a fragile ego.”

Superstitious?

Kristen: “Rob. He’s a little bit more paranoid, so that feeds into superstition more.”

Rob: “I am. I believe a lot in karma and stuff. Like when I end up with egg on my face, I’m like, Fate! I was born doomed. But I think it’s more being an idiot than superstitious.”

 

But perhaps it pays to be a little paranoid. Whatever it takes for Rob and Kristen to live their hothouse lives as normally as they can — until the November 20 opening of New Moon, anyway. In the interim, CNN will report whenever Rob gets a haircut (it already has), and girls will get mad at Kristen for not wearing pink tube tops and taking their dream man away. They both fantasize about what they would do if nobody could see them. “I’d like to say something noble,” Rob says, fiddling with his hair, “but I’d probably spy on people to hear what they think of me — and then hate them for it afterward.” Kristen is, as ever, a little blunter: “I’d go for a walk.”

Even though The Twilight Saga:  Breaking Dawn hasn’t even started filming yet, let alone even been confirmed 100%, they have already added an alert for whenever the Blu-Ray & DVD is ready for purchase!  This is great!

I, for one, have already subscribed to them all just to make sure I’m notified when they’re available.  Make sure you do the same and sign up, too– after all, you’ll need to be ready for your next Twilight-related party!!  :)

Rather than working his way through supermodels, Pattinson, who’s been living out of three suitcases for the past year, has been feeling overwhelmed, self-conscious, and guilty. “I’m trying not to drown,” he says in his hotel room at the San Diego Hard Rock Hotel, which is littered today with beer bottles, old scrambled eggs, a half-eaten Twix bar, and a dirty pair of jeans on the living-room floor. And he notices that he hasn’t made his bed. “Oh, God. Sorry about that.”

“I’m unbearably self-conscious about stuff,” he admits. To the point where, while filming scenes before the army of New York paparazzi that has been following him around, he is terrified that his “ass crack is showing.”

Despite the fact that he is an exquisite beauty—with perfectly formed red, red lips and a face that might have been dreamed by the Romantic poets—he thinks he resembles “a cartoon character.” One of his legs is longer than the other, which makes him look, he assures you, “like an idiot.”

He’s sure he’s driving people crazy by constantly talking about how he can’t leave his hotel room. And he sees his inability to relish his fans’ reverence as his own shortcoming. “I guess I’m not the type of guy cut out to do a franchise,” he says. “I’m not much of a crowd person.”
