The diaper on the right is my one Swaddlebee Econappi One Size Pocket diaper. Shown with a Blueberry Deluxe, because they are ultimately the same diaper. The difference is in the fabric choices on the interior and the insert. The Econappi has an organic velour lining and insert. (The insert is a two fabric insert with hemp, too.)

The interior fabric stains easily. That isn’t a big issue with me, since they are diapers. The inner fabric is nice a soft for the first couple hundred washes. They do feel wetter with this diaper, as the velour does not wick away moisture quite like some of the fleeces and microfibers do. It wasn’t enough of an issue to bother any of my children. Over time, the interior fabric gets rougher feeling. It doesn’t bother the children, but is not as nice and lush feeling as it once was.

I tried the Econappi as an all in two, like the company claims you can, and it didn’t work out. The liner is not wide enough to make sure there is no spill over and the interior fabric ends up soaked. I gave it several attempts on different kids and always got the same result.

The Econappi runs a bit larger than other one size diapers. Realistically, these diapers start fitting around 10 lbs on a very round baby. (If you have a long, lean child- it may be more like 12 lbs.) They do fit up to 40 lbs, I’d guess. Imogene is 38 lbs. and this diaper still easily fits her, though it is becoming a bit low rise on her. Also, with multiple kids in this diaper, the way the diaper goes together and snaps down can be a bit of a problem. I like to put all my diapers together out of the dryer. But the Econappi insert must be snapped together for the size you’re setting the diaper. So, I have to decide out of the dryer who will wear it and set it aside for that child, which is kind of a pain to me “any kid can wear any diaper” system.

I’m not sure how well you can see it in the photo, but the back seam of my Econappi is coming loose. Yes, I can fix it, but I don’t like having to. I want my most expensive diaper to hold together better than my cheaper ones. The casing around the back elastic is coming unsewn. It is still wearable, but it is a pretty obnoxious problem.

I do not like this diaper as an overnight diaper (unless it is on the smallest setting) because it just doesn’t hold enough at night. I also don’t like this diaper for trips to the park. Sounds odd, I know, but hear me out. When the older ones are running and climbing, the insert gets all pushed around inside the diaper. It leaks. Everytime I take a kid to the park in the diaper, it leaks. It is fine if they aren’t running and climbing. It does fine on trips when they are sitting still in their car seats.

Do I like this diaper? Eh, it’s alright. Would I recommend this diaper? If money is no issue and it doesn’t bother you to have issues with an expensive item, sure, go on and buy it. If you find some amazing half price deal and you can live with the small annoyances, then sure, go on and buy. Will I buy more? No, it isn’t worth it to me. There are diapers half the price that work so much better.

Idag har jag sytt klart min allra första babyfilt. Den skall flytta in till grannen och lilla V som föddes förra veckan. Vi har inte bott här speciellt länge men har ändå fått en bra relation till våra grannar och det kändes som en fin gest att ge dem något litet…

Filten är 70 x 80 cm stor och är sydd i mörkbrun velour från Hilco samt det blåa fina tågtyget från Jofotex. Dekorsömmen är sydd i rött för att ge en fin kontrast. Jag blev supernöjd, fler filtar kommer det definitivt att bli!

When I went to visit the good folks at the C2 Apparel sample sale a couple weeks back, I was immediately drawn to this crop Velour motorcycle leather jacket. Unfortunately my shoulders were too broad for the cut. *tear*. So I just took a quick snap shot to remember the moment. I hope that the chick with the cool hair who picked it up is loving her buy. The visit wasn’t a total loss, I grabbed two pieces from CheapMonday: widewide-leg satin pants and a graphic alien-inspired black sweatshirt, very comfy. Photos soon!

Efter en hel vecka som gräsänka ägnade jag lördagen med att sy, bästa avkopplingen!
Min väninna har fått sitt andra barn precis, en liten tösabit, och eftersom hon sen tidigare har en pojk så ville jag sy något i typiska tjejfärger. Ja, det kanske blev lite väl hysteriskt men ska det vara så ska det. Rosa för hela slanten;

Omlottbodyn är tagen från Ottobres mönster och för ovanlighetens skull har jag inte gjort en endaste ändring. Kanske för att det är första bodyn jag någonsin syr så jag vet ju lixom inte hur den skulle bli. Jag är nöjd, men inte mer. Tryckknapparna var svårast att få på rätt plats så att det inte skulle bli bubbligt vid knäppningen. Och hade jag varit smart hade jag sytt den i något mönstrat tyg där misstagen inte syns så mycket… Muddbyxorna är ett ommodifierat mönster även det från Ottobre. Tagit bort och lagt till lite och de blev ju bra! Kanske kanske att jag kunnat förlängt muddarna i bensluten en aning. Den lilla hjälmmössan har jag ritat på egen hand. Hittade inget mönster så jag fick plocka fram en av sonens gamla hjälmisar i strl 50 och förstora upp. Jag har verkligen ingen aning om passform men det känns som en bonus. Och något jag störde mig på när jag köpte hjälmisar till sonen när han var liten var att banden alltid var så förbannat korta, här har jag gjort dem låååånga så att man kan knyta en rosett utan problem.
Samtliga delar ska vara i strl 62. Tösen, som nu bara är två veckor gammal, är yttepytte men jag vet ju hur snabbt de växer och jag vill ju gärna att hon ska kunna ha det i mer än en vecka!
Har använt ceriserosa interlock och ljust babyrosa velour, båda från Hilco. Det är roligt när det är bra kvalitet på tygerna, då är de också väldigt enkla att sy i!

Så åbnede man lige sin inbox i går aftes og finder dette billede. Vampyrstilen er åbenbart et hit… Hmmm… På trods af at jeg er KÆMPE Twilight fan, så tror jeg ikke lige at jeg hopper med på den trend… og så alligevel… Jeg kommer ikke til at gå rundt med vampyr-gebis, blod solbriller og fulstændig bleg hud, men jeg kunne godt finde på at hoppe i denne sort kjole med lidt spidse skuldre  fra H&M og nogle lækre sorte støvletter.

Här försökte jag vara lite vågad. Jag är nämligen en fegis och brukar hålla mig till dova pojkiga färger och sådant som matchar, men nu tänkte jag outside the box. Ett par banangula byxor med en galen färgkombo på muddarna. Jag valde att sätta en mjuk resår i midjan, tycker nästan de sitter bättre så än med mudd.
Favoritvelour från Hilco, helt enastående i kvalitet och håller tvätt efter tvätt. Muddarna är en liten liten stuvbit från E-slöjd jag hittade på symässan för några veckor sedan.
Mönstret är ett omritat från Ottobre, avsmalnad och förlängt i benen. Trots det blev det på vippen till för korta, undrar om finska ungar har stubbar till ben?

Nejmah 1st Cairo Muse

Coco’s disciples are putting on their chunky knits, getting their boots out of their wardrobes and happily enjoying their favourite season. With tartan, faux fur, lace, leather, sequins and even velour flirting with us from the pages of our most loved fashion magazines and shop windows, how could we not adore Autumn/Winter ‘09!

If you’re anything like us, then when we say its only 11 weeks until Christmas you won’t roll your eyes. Intead, you will squeal, clap your hands very fast and quickly make a mental note of all the christmassy tasks you want to carry out!

 Coco’s disciples are currently picturing themselves in their best coats, and a plethora of winter attire. Wandering around the Christmas Market where they will twirl in the falling snow and drink mulled wine together. Ok, so granted the snow comes from a snow machine, but hey, if we get the angle right with the camera we can atleast pretend it was real!

Key notes to take away from this first post… Well… buy a new coat or, if you only did this last year, may be give your old coat a re-vamp. Whether you do that by buying on-trend accessories, like a tartan or faux fur scarf teamed with leather gloves (and as its not arctic conditions yet… you could try some lace gloves). Or, whether you buy some new buttons –  shop at places like Aberkhan or your local wool/sowing shop or even online. Some new gold or coloured buttons might be just the trick to prevent you from feeling like you have to spend £60+ on a new coat!

Get your boots out, and… if they are black, don’t be lazy and give them a polish. They will instantly look a millions times better and may prevent you from splurging money on new boots when you haven’t even waited for all the winter stock to come out! However, if you do need/want new boots, you can’t go wrong with a pair of riding-type boots. We disciples think that fashion has definitely turned to its country, arisotocratic roots for inspiration this autumn and last for that matter. So for a classy, rich look riding boots with tights or skinny jeans is the way to go.

But, there are other boots walking our way, and they are definitely giving us the eye! They are the over-the-knee or thigh high boots which have taken over the shoe shelves! We remember that the winter before last, Primark had an amazing pair in brown and black suede (sorry, suedette) and knowing Primark were probably priced around £12! They were flat and fit great… I wonder if they will bring them back this year? We’ll keep you posted on that one! Office have lots of choice when it comes to this type of boot, however we found that for the shorter legged person the high-legged boots in this shop was a very hard look to pull off. We’d advise that you tried some with a bit of a heel! Last year Bertie made some beauties, Abby Clancy sported them when she presented ’The Fashion Show’ last winter, so take a look if they’ve made them again!

Jeg har kjøpt meg så mye nytt i det siste, og det viser tydelig på kontoen. Nå venter jeg bare på 15. oktober og nytt stipend.

I mellomtiden har jeg mye fint å gå med

Denne kjolen kjøpte kjæresten min til meg på Vila! Den er i velour, som jo er ganske deilig nå som det begynner å bli kaldere! (Og et godt alternativ til de som elsker velour og viser det med å gå med joggedress!). Vesken kjøpte jeg på Fretex for en billig penge. Jakken og skoene har dere sett før, henholdsvis fra H&M og Skoringen. Føler spesielt at disse skoene har blitt mitt varemerke i høst, både pene og behagelige på.. Tightsen er fra Forever 21.

Jeg har lenge letet etter en pen pelsvest, som ikke er for tykk eller dominerende. Jeg fant den perfekte hos Vero Moda! Det var samme dagen, så derfor er bare jakken byttet ut:

Vesten kan dessuten brukes fra begge sider, noe som gjør den enda mer anvendelig og gir deg muligheten til å eksperimentere. Jeg tror den lyse siden blir enda finere med et lite belte i livet, skal teste det ut en gang det passer sånn..
