Did he see his shadow? We found out it depended where you live, the famous Phil did see his for six more weeks of winter but Dunkirk Dave and Katie Kenmore near our hometown didn’t so are we out of the woods of winter storms coming our way. It still remains to be seen.

We spent the morning in two groups: one group worked with Mrs. Reeverts on Introductions and greetings while the second group did work on Ventures Arcade. Then we switched but our group learned about position of adjectives in sentences and practiced that as well.

Our reading today was about being on a diet and dreaming of a vacation. The readings were followed by True and False statements that we answered. We had discussion and wrote 2 sentences about a related topic.

Carmen is planning food for the Valentine’s Day party and is passing a sign-up sheet around the classroom. Michael was kind enough to donate the money for sugar. So, we will not have bitter coffee tomorrow.

Today the internet was working well so our teacher had us work on Ventures Arcade Level 2, the shopping unit. We had a chance to again practice comparatives and superlatives. There was ample time to practice all aspects of the unit by doing the various exercises and checking them for instant feedback.

We returned to the classroom and did five sentences dealing with comparatives and five with superlatives.

Our favorite part is BINGO which we played today using the vocabulary of this unit.
