I have to say that the season premiere of Sanctuary impressed me quite a bit. From on online show, Sanctuary has developed a lot. The show has a lot more money poured into it. Plus, the story is just getting interesting, with Magnus and her acolytes fighting the Cabal.

The premiere impressed me enough to want to write something up for it. I watched all of last season while it was being aired, and I really enjoyed where the end of the season was heading. The Sanctuary is a place where all abnormals can go to seek Sanctuary from the modern world. Abnormals come in all different types, from vampires to Yeti. I know that it sounds a bit stupid, but the show matured well into its new TV format, especially towards the end of last season.

This season is no different. Well, actually it is, but things just keep getting better. We’ve got a dark conspiracy, a kidnapped daughter that’s been brainwashed, and the Sanctuary team trying to right wrongs.

This was a pretty good episode. It lets us discover more about the internal structure of the Sanctuary network. Magnus is in trouble and the Yeti is dead. Things go worse quickly.

Will is in an uproar. The Big Guy is dead. Will’s friend from security says that all of the evidence points to Helen Magnus as the killer. Two nights before he died, the Big Guy contacted Declan. He told him that she was starting to slip. He was killed by bullets from a 9mm. Magnus’ gun was fired and she had GSR on her coat. His friend says that he is invoking Article 9.

Will talks with Helen. She’s got amnesia. She doesn’t remember what happened this week. She says that someone is trying to set her up.

Will briefs Kate and Henry. According to the Sanctuary Charter set up by Magnus, anytime there is suspicion of wrongdoing, they refer the matter to the other heads of the Sanctuarys. Will and Kate go to the crime scene. Henry is going through her files.

Kate tells him about some emails Magnus sent her to pickup up an abnormal. The address she sent Kate to didn’t exist. Will finds something at the scene. It’s a missing surveillance camera. Henry finds a bunch of brainscans for Magnus that she’s been taking in her files. Will thinks that it’s been planted. The other Sanctuary heads have charged Declan to gather evidence against her. Also, they’ve sent for a triad, a bunch of telepaths that will scan Magnus’ mind. One of them is a hot chick that toys a bit with Will.

Henry finds out that the video has been deleted from the police DB. The police chief deleted it himself. He received an email to delete the file from Magnus. Kate finds out that Magnus bought some kind of red listers from a dealer.

The triad starts questioning Magnus. Will sits in on this, as well as Declan. Magnus gets defensive and paranoid. She isn’t winning anyone over. They stop the session. Emma, the hot telepath, says that they can’t read Magnus’ mind. It’s a jumble. She thinks that Magnus has dementia.

Henry intercepts a message from Declan. He wants to put in charge of the Sanctuary while Magnus is incapacitated. Henry gets the video from the alley from a backup DB. They see the video. It’s of Magnus shooting the Big Guy. She looked straight at the camera.

Scofield, one of the telepaths, informs Will that Magnus has some kind of mental disease. Declan is putting in charge of the Sanctuary. It’s obvious that Magnus is on some kind of drugs. She’s completely paranoid, but manages to take out Will. She also takes out a telepath. It’s not sure if she killed him or not. Henry tells Declan that she left.

Will tells Henry to figure out what is hidden in Magnus’ files. Declan is after something. If one of the telepaths is working with him, they could pull it off. Now that Magnus is gone, he can take his time and comb through her files.

Kate finds Magnus. Henry is going through Magnus’ files and finds something. He calls Will. Will can’t come back to the Sanctuary because the telepaths might figure out what is going on. Declan sees Henry leaving. Henry meets with Will. He says that he found a ghost folder named Big Bertha. He’s pretty sure that Declan is after this. Declan outsmarts them and goes after Will. He finds Magnus and takes her in.

Emma knows what Big Bertha is about. She tells him that it’s heavily classified. She says that some abnormals are too dangerous to be kept alive. Big Bertha could alter the magnetic resonance in her body to cause earthquakes. Magnus caught her and euthanized her. According to the files, she is still alive.

In the files, they locate Big Bertha’s location. Declan tells them that Magnus is dying and that a mercenary team attacked the cargo ship and stole Big Bertha.

Will finds out that the Big Guy isn’t dead. Magnus doesn’t have a disease. Will has Henry make a scan. They find an ozone beetle nesting in her brain stem. That’s what caused the symptoms. It’s because she didn’t want the triad reading her mind.

Will decodes an email that Magnus sent Kate. He finds Big Bertha’s location, somewhere along the African coast.

It turns out that Emma the telepath was after Big Bertha all along. Emma finds a tracking device in the container.

Magnus came up with an idea to flush out a mole in the Sanctuary network. She faked the Big Guy’s death.

Will’s Choice:    I’m gonna hands down say that the Chateau Ste Michelle Winery is the crappiest excuse for a winery I’ve ever experienced.  Everything is weak and unsatisfying.  Imagine taking a descent drink then adding more water and temperature conditions to all their drinks.  To make matters worse, literally across the way is the worst brewery I’ve ever experienced…the Red Hook Brewery (which at one time was descent before Budweiser got a hold of it.)

But despite all odds…CSM created a killer Riesling for the whopping total of $6 per bottle.  Excellently balanced, brilliant for food & cheese pairing.   Crisp, light, zesty and downright a tasty bargain.

Between in store performances, and evening doubles, this hard working group has jam packed their tour, which stopped in Wichita Wednesday for yet another one of those double (an in store performance at Hot Topic east, and a set at Rock Island Live). The band is currently on a return trip from their debut performance at the infamous indie music festival CMJ in New York, New York (second only to SXSW in competitiveness and glory). A truly independent band, Veritas members found each other in a Los Angeles Craigslist listing in 2007 and since have had the pleasure of playing with such famous acts as Triple Cobra and VAST.  Moore is also anticipating the band’s homecoming gig where they will share the stage with Smile Empty Soul. What’s hot about this band? The backbone of Veritas is three highly energetic females, Andrea Jasek (guitar), Jamie Rose (frontwoman, synths & egg shaker), and Chanel Summers (Drums). What’s hotter is the fact that everybody has a vocal mic. The vocal interplay is well thought and evenly spread across the members of the group. Veritas puts on an excellent live show. With a style that hails to indie pop and prog rock heroes alike, I found myself at a sort of sonic buffet, enjoying bits of Mindless Self Indulgence and pieces of Muse, among other familiar elements. The songwriting is solid, making these elements identifiable, but the character of each player and the overall style of ensemble keeps the music unique to Veritas. Veritas stopped by Wichita to perform for family friends and to try out the market (this was their first time here). Malbecs - bargain!

Don’t know a thing about wine and getting tired of blowing money on wines that are just “meh?”  Ah the beauty of Malbecs!  Malbec is a style of grape, tends to fair very well in warmer regions like Spain &  Argentina.  It has a really silky smooth taste, with a real rich deep colors of red & purple.  They pair very well foods and best of all…they’re cheap, cheap, cheap.   You’re looking at $8-$17 a bottle on average.  The vine itself originally started in Southern part of France (Bordeaux) which then spread out among other areas around the world.

I’ve never had a Malbec before, is it like anything I’ve tasted?

Sure.  Because of the warm climate this grape flourish well in, it brings out some really distinctive flavors that you might recognize in more expensive bottles of wine such as Reserves from vineyards or aged Vintage bottles that have really gotten a chance to open up.  It’s also like a great Cabernet or that Merlot that for some reason doesn’t suck.

Things to avoid:

Climate is the reason Malbecs work so well.  So if you see a Malbec from Washington, where you know it’s cold and wet during parts of the season.  Avoid it.  Pick a wine based on a region when you get more experienced, then focus on year.     There’s a reason why vineyards are located in certain regions.  (Paso Robles, Napa Valley – CA,  Sonoma – CA, Bordeaux- FR)

I’ve got this friend named Greg, I’ve never met anybody who pounds down Whiskey like that animal does.  Mostly it’s because he’s not too huge on the taste but he likes the warming sensation and how silly he gets afterward.  An average bottle of Jack Daniels will run you about $22-$25, making Greg a very poof fella.

Will’s Choice A nice affordable alternative I found is Old Overholt Rye Whiskey from Pennsylvania originally, now distilled in Kentucky. It’s a little difficult to find, but if you’re in California such as Vendome chains or anywhere where there’s a Bevmo! It runs about $15 .  It’s 40% Alcohol (80 Proof) just like JD.   And it’s got a really smooth taste, so for those of you easing into the world of whiskey & assorted spirits.

So what’s Whiskey?

Whiskey is made from  fermented grain.  There’s a bunch of different kind out there such as wheat, malted rye/barley, rye, barley, or maize (corn.)   (Kinda sounds like we’re making a loaf of bread huh?) Each these grain give it’s own flavor and distinct taste, here’s a little breakdown of what you might see on most American bottles:

• Bourbon whiskey, which is made from mash that consists of at least 51% corn (maize).
• Rye whiskey, which is made from mash that consists of at least 51% rye.
• Corn whiskey, which is made from mash that consists of at least 80% corn (maize).
• Straight whiskey, (without naming a grain) is a whiskey which has been aged in charred new oak containers for 2 years or more and distilled at not more than 80 percent alcohol by volume but is derived from less than 51% of any one grain.

Note:  Real Bourbon comes from Bourbon, Kentucky.  This is kinda like the real Champagne thing from Champage, France.

As most people will tell you, good cheap “Champagne” is hard to come by.  Mostly because real Champagne comes from the Champagne region in France.  Anything not from there is really wine with fizzy bubbles (Sparkling Wine.)  Being in a band, it’s hard to be able to afford the really smashing bottles of wine, but as I have found, you don’t have to break the bank for the holidays to impress the Mrs.  You just need to know what you & your partner enjoy.    Here’s a little bit of a breakdown on Champagnes when picking a style.

So first you pick the color…

There are a few main Categories of Champagne:

Prestige Cuveé – Tends to be a blended wine that is one of the sellers best more premium choices.

Blanc de Noirs – Tends to be of a darker color

Blanc de Blanc – Tends to be of a white color as it is made from Chardonnay grapes

Rosé Champagne – Has a pinker or reddish completion.  This comes more commonly from adding a small amount of Pinot Noir wine.

….then the sweetness.

Will’s Choice A Barefoot Bubbly from Modesto, California.  Most of Barefoot’s products are pretty descent and better than drinking most junk people will offer to you.  But their Champagne selection is a bargain!   You can find it pretty easily in most major super markets like Trader Joe’s, Albertson’s etc..  Goes for $10-$13 on average.

Episode: Veritas

When I first started watching this episode I swear I was getting ready to swear off Sanctuary.  First they kill off Ashley which ticked me off to no end and tried to replace her with Kate Freelander.  Then they start off this episode by killing off the big guy.  Come on!  I don’t care for Kate and I don’t care for the British guy (can’t even recall his name).

Anyway, the evidence points to Magnus as the killer of Big Guy so she is put under house arrest and a psychic triad is called in to interrogate her.  They find evidence that Magnus has slowly been mentally deteriorating and this is why she killed Big Guy.  Will believes she is innocent and tries to clear her.  First he thinks it’s a conspiracy between the British guy who wants to take over as head of the sanctuary if Magnus is found guilty.  In the end we find out that Big Guy is still alive and Magnus put a special beetle in her to simulate the symptoms of madness all to trap the triad.  Turns out they were trying to steal an abnormal who was much more dangerous than any other abnormals they currently have.

I’m not clear on how Will works it all out and opens up Big Guy’s crypt to find his body gone.  I might have missed it since I was also doing something else.

I’m still bitter about Ashley but since the Big Guy is still alive I will keep watching.  I would like to see Ashley’s dad and the vampire back.  The episodes were much more fun with them.  So far I am disappointed with this season after starting off with 2 great episodes.

Après cette introduction aussi inutile qu’handicapante pour ma crédibilité, rentrons dans le vif du sujet. Veritas est un manwha (manga coréen) de Kim Dong-hoon et Yoon Joon-shik de type shounen. Il raconte l’histoire de Ma Gangryong, un adolescent qui ne vit que pour se battre afin de devenir le plus fort (le concept bien connu du c’est moi qui ai la plus grosse). L’histoire commence lorsque, en train de se faire tabasser par une bande d’autres étudiants, notre héros est sauvé par un inconnu qui écrase facilement ses agresseurs. Impressionné, Gangryong demande à son sauveur de devenir son maître, et va découvrir un monde ou des techniques comme le « lightning fist » est possible (lightning fist = poing électrique pour ceux qui ne parlent pas la langue de Shakespeare et des Beatles et de Kate Moss même si c’est pas tellement pour ce qu’elle dit qu’on la connaît). Les choses s’accélèrent lorsque, quelques temps après le départ de Lightning Tiger – son maître, des envoyés d’une organisation viennent lui annoncer la mort de son mentor. Il se retrouve emmené – légèrement de force cela va de soi – dans une école spécialisée appelée The Reunion où d’autres élèves apprennent les arts martiaux les plus puissants de Corée. Commence alors son périple pour devenir encore et toujours plus fort, tout en découvrant l’équilibre fragile de l’école, dominée par la toute puissante (et super mignonne en plus) Vera Linus. Aidé par ses amis (enfin en tout cas par ceux qui s’opposent à Vera), il se lance dans sa course à la force dans cet univers où se côtoient des élèves aux pouvoir incroyables…

Tome 1 de Veritas

Veritas est mon coup de cœur du moment. Les dessins sont impressionnants, toujours impeccables, avec un style réaliste très poussé. L’histoire est beaucoup plus complexe que l’on pourrait le croire au premier abord, avec des zones d’ombres sur le passé commun des personnages que l’auteur lève habilement, en gardant de la place pour des développements futurs prometteurs (introduction subtile de nouveaux personnages hauts en couleur). Les personnages sont d’ailleurs à mon avis le gros point fort de Veritas. Ils sont nombreux à jouer un rôle important, avec une grosse personnalité, et des motivations aussi diverses que les raisons de boire une bière en été et croyez moi il y en a beaucoup. Quant aux combats, j’en parlerais bien mais rien que d’y penser des larmes de joie inondent mes yeux et mon clavier fort heureusement waterproof, et je préfère vous encourager à aller voir par vous-même.

En plus, et je me répète mais c’est important, on se laisse vraiment emporter dans l’univers Veritas et on aimerait pouvoir lancer des éclairs comme Gangryong – d’ailleurs c’est moi ou en ce moment les héros qui ont la classe utilisent l’électricité ? Lorsqu’on met ensemble Aiolia du Lion (Saint Seiya), Sasuke Uchiha (Naruto) et maintenant Gangryong, on a de quoi mettre un terme aux problèmes énergétiques et illuminer tout Paris en plein hiver ! Mais je m’égare et je vous retiens alors que vous devriez déjà être en route pour lire Veritas…

A comment about HDS’s Zero Page Reclaim on one of my previous posts got me thinking about the effectiveness of thin provisioning in general.  In that previous post, I talked about the trade-offs between increased storage utilization through the use of thin-provisioning and the potential performance problems associated with it.

There are intrinsic benefits that come with the use of thin provisioning.  First, new storage can be provisioned for applications without nearly as much planning.  Next, application owners get what they want, while storage admins can show they are utilizing the storage systems effectively.  Also, rather than managing the growth of data in individual applications, storage admins are able to manage the growth of data across the enterprise as a whole.

Thin provisioning can also provide performance benefits…  For example, consider a set of virtual Windows servers running across several LUNs contained in the same RAID group.  Each Windows VM stores its OS files in the first few GB of their respective VMDK files.  Each VMDK file is stored in order in each LUN, with some free space at the end.  In essence, we have a whole bunch of OS sections separated by gaps of no data.  If all VMs were booting at approximately the same time, the disk heads would have to move continuously across the entire disk, increasing disk latency.

Now take the same disks, configured as a thin pool, and create the same LUNs (as thin LUNs) and the same VMs.  Because thin-provisioning in general only writes data to the physical disks as it’s being written by the application, starting from the beginning of the disk, all of those Windows VMs’ OS files will be placed at the beginning of the disks.  This increased data locality will reduce IO latency across all of the VMs.  The effect is probably minor, but reduced disk latency translates to possibly higher IOPS from the same set of physical disks.  And the only change is the use of thin-provisioning.

So back to HDS Zero Page Reclaim.  The biggest problem with thin provisioning is that it doesn’t stay thin for long.  Windows NTFS, for example, is particularly NOT thin-friendly since it favors previously untouched disk space for new writes rather than overwriting deleted files.  This activity eventually causes a thin-LUN to grow to it’s maximum size over time, even though the actual amount of data stored in the LUN may not change.  And Windows isn’t the only one with the problem.  This means that thin provisioning may make provisioning easier, or possibly improve IO latency, but it might not actually save you any money on disk.  This is where HDS’s Zero Page Reclaim can help.  Hitachi’s Dynamic Provisioning (with ZPR) can scan a LUN for sections where all the bytes are zero and reclaim that space for other thin LUNs.  This is particularly useful for converting thick LUNs into thin LUNs.  But, it can only see blocks of zeros, and so it won’t necessarily see space freed up by deleting files.  Hitachi’s own documentation points out that many file systems are not-thin friendly, and ZPR won’t help with long-term growth of thin LUNs caused by actively writing and then deleting data.

Although there are ways to script the writing of zeros to free space on a server so that ZPI can reclaim that space, you would need to run that script on all of your servers, requiring a unique tool for each operating system in your environment.  The script would also have to run periodically, since the file system will grow again afterward.

NetApp’s SnapDrive tool for Windows can scan an NTFS file system, detect deleted files, then report the associated blocks back to the Filer to be added back to the aggregate for use by other volumes/LUNs.  The Space Reclamation scan can be run as needed, and I believe it can be scheduled; but, it appears to be Windows only.  Again, this will have to be done periodically.

But what if you could solve the problem across most or all of your systems, regardless of operating system, regardless of application, with real-time reclamation?  And what if you could simultaneously solve other problems?  Enter Symantec’s Storage Foundation with Thin-Reclamation API.  Storage Foundation consists of VxFS, VxVM, DMP, and some other tools that together provide dynamic grow/shrink, snapshots, replication, thin-friendly volume usage, and dynamic SAN multipathing across multiple operating systems.  Storage Foundation’s Thin-Reclamation API is to thin-provisioning what OST is to Backup Deduplication.  Storage vendors can now add near-real-time zero page reclaim for customers that are willing to deploy VxFS/VxVM on their servers.  For EMC customers, DMP can replace PowerPath, thereby offsetting the cost.

As far as I know, 3PAR is the first and only storage vendor to write to Symantec’s thin-API, which means they now have the most dynamic, non-disruptive, zero-page-reclaim feature set on the market.  As a storage engineer myself, I have often wondered if VxVM/VxFS could make management of application data storage in our diverse environment easier and more dynamic.  Adding Thin-Reclamation to the mix makes it even more attractive.  I’d like to see more storage vendors follow 3PAR’s lead and write to Symantec’s API.  I’d also like to see Symantec open up both OST and the Thin-Reclamation API for others to use, but I doubt that will happen.

I did an activity to add LUNS to existing database file systems running sun Cluster 3.1, Solaris 9 OS with VxVM. The steps I followed are :

a) Get the LUN information from Storage  and update the sd.conf accordingly on both the servers

b) Make the LUNS Visible on the server. Run the command on both the nodes

#update_drv -f sd

c) Verify for the LUNS present; # format

d) Configure emcpower devices. Run on both the servers.

# /etc/powermt config
# /etc/powermt save

e) Create the Sun Cluster DID devices. Run on both nodes if required.

# devfsadm
# scgdevs

f) Verify the sun Cluster DID devices. # scdidadm -L

g) Add the disks to veritas diskgroup ; # vxdiskadm

h) Grow the FS

Dünya düzenli Masonluğunca muntazam olarak kabul edilen tek ve en eski Türk Mason Büyük Locası. Dünyada kabul gördükleri ve kendi kullandıkları şekliyle isimleri Türkiye Büyük Locası olarak da geçer.

 Her ne kadar Türkiye’de Masonluğun ve ilk Masonların 1720′li yıllardan bu yana var olduğu bilinse de, daha ziyade dış obediyanslara bağlı ve Osmanlı topraklarındaki yabancıların etkinliğinde sürdürülen bu çalışmalar, 18. yüzyılın ortalarından itibaren Türkleri de içine almaya başlamıştır. Bilinen ve kayıtları günümüze ulaşan ilk Türk Masonlar, bu yüzyılın ortalarında topluluğa kabul edilmiş olan İbrahim Müteferrika ve Yirmisekiz Çelebizade Sait Çelebi‘dir.

1861 yılına kadar, daha ziyade İngiltere, Fransa ve İtalya milli obediyanslarına bağlı localarda çalışmalarını sürdüren Türk Masonluğu, bu yıl içerisinde Mısır asıllı Osmanlı Prensi Abdülhalim Paşa‘nın önderliğinde Osmanlı Yüksek Şurası’nı, o zamanki ismi ile Makbul İskoç Riti Şura-ı Ali-i Osmani‘yi kurar. Bu resmi cemiyeti ilk tanıyan dış obediyans ise 1869 yılında ABD Güney Jüridiksiyonu olur ve böylece Milli bir hüviyet kazanmış olan Türk Masonluğu, dış obediyanslarca da tanınmaya başlamış ve ABD’yi diğer bazı obediyanslar takip etmiştir.

Dönemin Osmanlı Yüksek Şurası’nın yanısıra yabancı obediyanslara bağlı olarak Osmanlı topraklarında varlıklarını sürdüren localar da çok sayıdaydı. Örneğin, İttihat ve Terakki üyelerinin çok büyük kısmını içinde barındıran ve bu harekete bir yerde ev sahipliği yapan iki locadan Macedonia Risorta İtalyan, Veritas ise Fransa Grand Orient’i bünyesindeki localardı.

1956 yılında dönemin Başbakanlık Müsteşarı Ahmet Salih Korur‘un Büyük Üstatlığında, Yüksek Şura’dan bağımsız ve Masonluğun 3 âli derecesinde (Çırak, Kalfa, Üstat) çalışmak üzere ilk Türkiye Büyük Locası kurulur, fakat muntazam Masonluk tarafından, bir obediyansın düzenli sayılabilmesi için kabul edilen, Büyük Loca’nın Yüksek Şura’dan bağımsız olarak kurulabilmesi ilkesine riayet edilmemesi ve ilk Türk obediyansının bir Büyük Loca değil bir Yüksek Şura olması itibariyle Türk masonluğu uzun yıllar boyunca Düzensiz Masonluk (Grand Orient) tarafında kalır. Yine de 1956 yılındaki bu oluşum ile birlikte, dünya düzenli Masonluk camiası içerisine dahil olma çabalarının asli amaç olarak belirlenmesi ile birlikte Türkiye Büyük Locası ismi, Hür ve Kabul Edilmiş Masonlar Büyük Locası olarak tasdik edilmiştir.

Dünya düzenli Masonluğunu temsil eden, ve bir yerde Hür Masonluğun (Fikri Masonluk, Spekülatif Masonluk) atası sayılan İngiltere Birleşik Büyük Locası‘nın Türkiye Büyük Locası’nı kabul etmesi ise ancak 1970 yılında, 1909 yılında Mısır‘da kurulmuş bulunan ve Resne Locası’nın düzenli köklerine bağlanarak gerçekleşir. Ondan önce İskoçya Büyük Locası tarafından 1965 yılında, aynı gerekçe ile kabul edilerek konsekre edilen Türkiye Büyük Locası bu yıldan itibaren dünya düzenli Masonluğunca kabul edilerek ritüelleri, kıyafetleri, mabetleri geleneksel Masonluğa göre yeniden tanzim edilerek muntazam bir hal alır ve bu düzenli Büyük Locanın kuruluş tarihi 1909 olarak tasdik edilir.

1965 yılında İskoçya Büyük Locası tarafından tanınması ve tasdik töreninin icra edilmesinden kısa bir süre sonra; çeşitli dini, siyasi ve yönetimsel problemleri olan çok küçük bir grup Türk Masonluğu’ndan ayrılarak düzensiz bir oluşuma gider ve hemen akabinde, bu grubun Türk ve Dünya Masonluğu ile alakaları, 1966′nın Ağustos ve Eylül aylarında birbiri ardına gelen kararlar ile süresiz olarak kesilir.

Türkiye’de Masonluk

Bugün, İstanbul, Ankara, İzmir, Bursa, Adana, Eskişehir, Denizli, Bodrum, Marmaris, Kuşadası, Antalya, Çeşme, Fethiye‘de 200′ün üzerinde Locasında çalışan 14.000 üyesi ile Hür ve Kabul Edilmiş Masonlar Büyük Locası; geleneksel, düzenli Masonluğun Türkiye’deki tek temsilcisidir. Yıllık %3 oranındaki üye artışı ile de dünyanın en hızlı büyüme oranına sahip obediyanslarından birisidir. Çalışmalarında din ve siyaset tartışmaları haricinde tüm konuşmaların özgürce yapıldığı ve analitik felsefi çalışmalar üzerine yoğunlaşan Localarına, 21 yaşını doldurmamış, Tanrı inancına sahip olmayan ve hür bir erkek olmayan kimseler kabul edilmezler.

Türkiye Büyük Locası, Masonluğun üç derecesinde (Çırak, Kalfa, Üstat) çalışır. 4 ile 33 arasındaki yüksek derecelere devam edip etmemek üyelerin kendi inisiyatiflerindedir. Bu dereceleri yöneten Türkiye Yüksek Şurası’nın ise Büyük Loca ile herhangi bir organik bağı yoktur, aralarında sadece iyi niyet antlaşması vardır. Yüksek Şura’nın çalışmalarına katılabilmek için bir Masonun, kendi Locasında Üstat derecesini haiz olması ve Locasında düzenli ve iyi durumda olması gerekir. Kendi Locasındaki düzenini kaybeden bir üye, otomatik olarak yüksek derecelerde çalışma ve devam hakkını da kaybeder.

Her yıl bir kere yapılan kadınlara açık celselerde Mason eşleri, kızları, anneleri ve kızkardeşleri Mabetlere alınır ve onlara Masonik hikâyeler anlatılır. Bu özel gecelerde Masonik çalışma yapılmaz ve herhangi bir ritüel gerçekleştirilmez.

Nasıl Üye Olunur

Hür ve Kabul Edilmiş Masonlar Büyük Locası, T.C. İçişleri Bakanlığı Dernekler Masası’na kayıtlı olarak çalışmalarını sürdüren yasal bir dernektir. Derneğe katılma prosedürü, 2 senelik Üstat derecesine sahip bir üyenin önerisi ile başlar. Bu üye, önereceği kişiyi uzun zamandan beri tanıyor olmalı ve kendisiyle her şeyiyle kefil olabilecek kadar iyi tanımalıdır. Üstat Mason, aday yapmayı düşündüğü kişiye bu düşüncesini bir defa dile getirir ve haricinin olumlu karşılaması sonrasında işlemlere başlar. Doğru olan, bir defa önerilen kişinin olumsuz yanıt vermesi veya süre istemesi sonrasında teklifin bir daha yinelenmemesidir.

Aday gösterilmesine karar verilen haricinin teklif bilgileri teklif kesesine atılır. Kabulü ile ilgili herhangi bir engelin olmadığına dair Büyük Loca’nın verdiği onaydan sonra işlemler başlar ve adayın kimlik ve kişisel bilgileri önerildiği Locanın bir Üstat oturumunda okunur ve oylanır. 3 veya daha fazla olumsuz oy çıkması halinde aday reddedilir. Bu ve diğer tüm oylamalara yalnız o Locanın değil, herhangi bir Locaya bağlı tüm Masonlar katılma hakkına sahiptir. Oylama olumlu sonuç verdiği takdirde, adayı daha önce tanımayanlar arasından seçilen 3 Üstat Mason görevlendirilir ve aday hakkında önce uzunca bir araştırma yaparlar, daha sonra da kendisiyle görüşerek, derneğe kendi isteğiyle girmek istediği ile alakalı bir talepname ile Masonluğa neden girmek istediği ile alakalı bir form doldurmasını isterler ve buna adli sicil kaydının temiz olduğu ile alakalı bir belgeyi de eklemesini isterler.

Bu esnada adayın fotoğrafı ve bilgilerini içeren belge, Türkiye Büyük Locası’nın tüm binalarında askıya çıkartılır ve herhangi bir Mason’un, askıya çıkan adayı tanıdığını ve Masonluğa girmesine sıcak bakmadığının gerekçelerini yazılı olarak Büyük Loca ve adayın önerildiği Loca’ya bildirmesi halinde tüm işlemler durdurulur.

Askıda da herhangi bir problem çıkmaması sonrasında, o ana kadar yapılan araştırmaların tüm sonuçları, Locanın yine bir Üstat oturumunda okunup, tartışılıp, oylandıktan ve bu oylama da temiz çıktıktan sonra adayın tekris adı verilen ritüelik ve geleneksel bir kabul töreni ile topluluğa kabulü sağlanır. Adaylıktan tekrise kadar giden bu safha, Locanın çalışma programı ve aday sayısına bağlı olarak, 6 ay ile 2 sene arasında bir zaman sürebilmektedir.

Tüm bu tahkikat safhasının herhangi bir yerinde reddedilen aday, üzerinden en az 1 sene geçmeden tekrar aday gösterilemez. İkinci defa reddedilen aday ise, üyelik hakkını tamamiyle yitirmiş olur.

Tüzükler gereğince, bir haricinin dernek üyeliğine aday olabilmesi için 21 yaşını tamamlaması zorunludur. Babası Mason olanlar için bu sınır 19′a iner.

Dereceler ve Çalışma Sistemi

Türkiye Büyük Locası da, dünyanın diğer tüm düzenli Büyük Locaları gibi Masonluğun üç derecesinde, yani Çırak, Kalfa ve Üstat derecelerinde çalışırlar. Üstat derecesinin üzerinde bir derece, Büyük Loca bünyesinde yoktur.

Masonluğa kabul edilen ve düzenli bir Locada usülüne uygun olarak yapılan düzenli bir tören ile üyeliğe kabul edilen üye Çırak unvanını kazanır. Kabul töreninin ardından en az 12 ay geçmeden Kalfalığa yükselinmez. Bu 12 ay içerisinde Çırak Mason, kendisine verilen çeşitli Masonik ödev ve tezleri başarıyla tamamlamalı ve Kalfalığa layık olduğunu, farklı zamanlarda verdiği bu tezler ile ispatlamalıdır.

Kalfa olduktan sonra da en az 12 ay geçmeden Üstatlığa yükselinmez. Üstat olabilmek için de Çıraklık dönemindekine benzer Masonik çalışmalar, bu sefer Kalfa gözüyle yapılır ve verilen tezler sonrasında Üstat olunabilir.

The hand-built Veritas RS 111 is the most outrageous supercar we?ve ever driven here at CarAdvice, and we have driven a few!

We drove the prototype version in Italy earlier this year, and were impressed with the sheer pose value this awesome machine offers.

That same popularity made it hard to film though, as wherever we pulled over; a crowd of onlookers would gather, armed with a barrage of questions about the car.

Granted, it looks like something Wolverine might drive in the next X-Men movie, but let me assure you, anytime you?re behind the wheel of a Veritas, is a blast.

Punch the throttle in second gear, while you?re going ballistic through one of Italy?s tunnels, and you will know the full meaning of engine noise. The twin, high-set exhaust pipes on the Veritas, make enough noise to drown out a Tornado fighter jet.

There?s racing history behind the Veritas name too, these guys were the first German team to enter Formula One, so it?s no surprise that they have a test centre and showroom, trackside at the Nurburgring.

Awarded this year?s public award of ?Best Super Car 2009? at London?s prestigious Salon Prive, the Veritas RS 111 will commence a limited series run of 30 of these extraordinary cars, five of which have already been sold to enthusiasts in Monaco, Australia, Great Britain, Spain and Switzerland.

With another eight cars reserved, and over 100 enquiries, Michael Trick the CEO of VerMot AG who owns the Veritas brand, expects all first series cars to be sold out this year.

At 4.68 metres long, a massive 2.02 metres wide and only 970 millimetres high, the Veritas RS 111 cuts a seriously imposing figure on the road.

Weighing in at just 1.080 kilograms, quick, is an understatement. Powered by a BMW sourced 5.0 litre V10 developing 373 kW and 520Nm of torque, this monster will do 347km/h and sprint form 0-100km/h in under 3.2 seconds.

You can option a six-speed manual, but the standard 7-speed SMG with paddles is the best way to enjoy this car.

The prototype car we drove required maximum concentration with this much power and no ABS or Traction Control, certainly not for the faint-hearted.

The production car has both these safety devices, but drivers will be able to deactivate both systems individually.

The Veritas RS 111 is a super car for the purist, I only wish I had the cash.
